    Just looked at the price for the Vanguard Epic ,$280 . I was hoping for information about a beginners paddle.

    I enjoyed the article and the "all in good fun" came across well for me. I'd love to see you cover the Combat paddles Katana. Maybe you can't carry them but the paddles' description has all the buzz words that top notch paddles have. Love to see some youtube takes on these paddles. Well done and keep up the solid content!

    I watched this and it is very informative. I have also watched a few of your other videos. One thing I would like to see from all paddle videos is there cost. Keep sending great content, I'm sure it helps tons of people, no matter there skill level.

      I'll add cost in the future; you're right it's quite important in pickleball. And thank you so much for the positive feedback!

    Good video. You left out a group of player: table tennis 🙂

      Thank you! For table tennis, I would guess something shorter but also thermoformed for that responsive feel.

    Excellent video. Love the humor, sarcasm, information , and entertainment. I'm starting to play this week and I need a paddle. Thank you for the help. Btw... I'm in the 60 year old returning to athletic competition after a long absence, (many many many years) and a former paddleball player back in the late 70's and early 80's back in Brooklyn NY. What's the paddle for that player? I like the idea of the CrBn2 and the CrBn2x 16mm. I'll check them out.

      Thank you very much! I think the CRBN2X would be a perfect paddle for you as it will pretty much perfectly complement that technique you developed.

    Great video! I have been playing about 3 months now. I currently have an slk evo 2.0 hybrid max. I’m digging the shape a lot. I feel I’m really accurate with the evo, I can control my game really good, but I am looking at stepping my game up. Would the Selkirk vanguard 2.0 epic be a step up or just basically a side step? I ordered a double black diamond and it wasn’t for me. I am 39 with no racket experience. Pretty high speed player as well but still learning a lot from the large group I play with. I would really appreciate some recommendations. Thanks!

    • @RacketsandRunnersPickleball

      I think the Vanguard 2.0 would be a good step as it would help you develop an even better soft game and it wont hurt you in any other regard!

    All the recommended paddles are for rich folks only because some advanced players can’t even afford them. Beginners usually buy paddles that are between $30.00 - $100.00, duh!

    • @charleswalker6109
      @charleswalker6109 8 місяців тому +8

      I would tend to agree. You don’t throw a $200 plus paddle at a beginner. And pickle ball paddles shouldn’t be in the hundreds of dollars price range. It’s pickle ball! High end paddles should be $150 tops!

    Senior citizen here just starting, I was very much into racket sports as well as other sports. What I didn't see here is table tennis and racket ball, the reason I bring these up is because of ball control and tactics of playing the game.

      I think you should go for a hybrid shape paddle (Vatic Pro Flash/SixZero Double Black Diamond).

    I don't agree badminton players should go for shorter paddles and badminton players flicks more. Badminton players use forearm more but still pronate which may seem they flick more.
    Badminton players racket shape is close to tennis racket.
    I played more badminton than tennis and table tennis. , I prefer elgonated shape paddle or a hybird. I find I miss time more with short and wider paddles.
    The only short and wide one i liked was paddletek one.

      I have small hands 10.25cm. I'm a beginner who is an old man that comes from a tennis/ping-pong background. I like my Joola Essentials paddle it has a small grip, and cost less than $60.

    General i would go following
    No rackets experience - normal shape.
    Tennis/squash - elongated. Flat hitter go with head. Spin- any spin paddle would do.
    Badminton - elgonated or semi elongated (racket shape is similar tennis, but narrower).
    Ping ponger - shorter handle.

    Paddles cost are up cause the sport is popular also how many paddles will a player go thru while playing. Maybe top and side scrapes on the paddle no one is breaking a paddle. So its a one and done sale. A paddle should not be the same cost of a tennis racquet. The cost of quality is not there. I just saw $279 for a paddle thats nuts.

    You're recommending $150-$250 paddles for a beginner?? Alright I've seen it all. Beginners should not be spending more than $100 for their first paddle. Vatic Prism and Ronbus R series are good options.

    • @RacketsandRunnersPickleball
      @RacketsandRunnersPickleball  4 місяці тому +1

      I understand where you're coming from and those are great options but it does also depend on the beginner. If you're starting out pickleball without a racket/paddle sport background then, yes, go for a good budget option and start to develop preferences, but if you already have developed strokes there are paddles that will better complement that technique and will help you play better.
