You did a great job of reviewing the J2TI and talked a lot about the plush feel. I would really appreciate you sharing how you think these two paddles differ? I currently play with the J2TI and like it a lot, but I am wondering if there are any major benefits to moving to the Pulse S.

I like the luxx control air invikta it feels natural for me coming from a tennis background. I wish the spray on grit lasts a little longer though. So I guess once the grit surface is completely smooth you lose the spin capability of the luxx?

What adjustments did you have to make on this paddle coming from a gen 3 Joola?

I bought my wife a Pickleball Apes Pulse V for Christmas. She was more than skeptical and hesitant to make the switch. Her first play date after Christmas changed her mind. It's a great paddle and delivers on the hype.

Would this paddle be a good transition from a full control paddle i play now which is Selkirk Control air luxx? As I'm improving in skill I'm looking for a paddle with a little more power and spin yet without sacrificing too much on the soft feel and control. I am familiar with the hybrid shape as I also own the Vatic Pro but I find it a little too unforgiving after coming from the Selkirk Epic mentioned before. Is this J2Ti a little more forgiving and with larger sweet spot than the Vatic pro? I'm looking for something in-between in that respect.

Im behind....i love my double black diamond.....plenty of control....great pop....when it breaks in and you add a little lead.....power when you need it....

Best racket, hands down, for men, is the gear box ultimate pro. I wanted to believe in j2 Ti hype and silly stats that get quoted, and accordingly bought one. Great value, I guess; but for a 4.5+ male who's fortunate to have the cash the price gap is wholly justified, especially outdoors.

I demo'd the Honolulu J2K and really like how it plays. But I can't get past the fact that they all say John 3:16 at the top of the paddle. I can't find any mention of this on their website or in any review. Regardless of one's beliefs, it just seems odd to be evangelizing on a pickleball paddle.

Remember that whole video comparing the ruby and j2k? And he liked the ruby more... I have a ruby and j2k and can confirm the ruby is better in all aspects especially build quality

The Luxx is amazing. I still use one from the original launch release window (13 months old), and even though the grit has worn off quite a bit, I dominate with it. Still get great spin and placement, reset everything from anywhere, consistently absorb shots from all these Gen 3 paddles, and put away the right ones. It is a paddle that requires more skill, effort and patience, but the payoff and satisfaction is phenomenal.

Need a power paddle for people who love to drive .

I wish I could demo paddles at the store, can we get an Ontario store though lol perferably southern Ontario not in Toronto but south of it would be amazing.

Paddles on that website are overpriced. Luxx Control $250 on Selkirk website Rackets n Runners $339! No thanks.

Luca, I think you should consider commenting on the grip shape and size on the paddles. Coming from tennis background, I started Pickleball two months ago. I got 6 paddles from the same brand, but immediately there are some important differences about the grips: - Slim and round-bevelled ones feel much more maneuverable at the kitchen, since 1) you can switch faster from a forehand to a backhand grip and 2) you can flick-volley (flick the wrist) easier I got a paddle that has a grip shape a la Head's TK82 / Tecnifibre rectangular shape (like an L2 tennis grip size) and this one feels the least maneuverable at the kitchen. Since, the incoming forces of impact are much lower than tennis, I don't see the need for rectangular grip shapes in Pickleball paddles. Slim and completely round or at least square grip shape but still small circumference, do the job great. There's minimal twisting forces in Pickleball and if any, can be fixed with some lead tape.

Best review actually comparing these paddles. Was very helpful in helping me zone in an a J3 for my needs.
