  • This video shows my solution for connecting my trailer Furrion camera system to my new GMC Sierra truck which uses a PWM output signal to power the truck and trailer lighting.

I did something similar - ran 12v constant power right off my battery through a switch, cameras always hot now and we bring the furrion monitor inside the RV first a security camera. While you have that junction box open, it’s easy to run new trigger wires from the R and L turn signal conductors to your cameras. That prioritizes the associated camera when you flip in your turn signals, and puts that camera in full screen mode while the turn signal is on. Really helps either visibility for lane changes.

We have a similar issue with the Furrion cameras but with our Motorhome so not run through the plug in the back. Still working with Furrion to find a solution but this switch addition may be part of it. Thanks for at least confirming that we are not alone with this issue!

Just came across your video as I have been searching high and low for a solution to my Furrion Camera power issue with my 2022 GMC Sierra 3500. I have watched your video several times and just wanting to make sure I have a clear picture. The brown running light wire will be capped ? This is done on the 7 way camper cable coming from my camper that would plug into my truck ? The nut stays in place on that running light wire and the other 2 wires will be my 12 volts and ground. So basically my 12 volts is now coming from the camper while traveling down the road and taking the truck out ?

You are correct. We’re not using the running light signal from the truck at all. That wire gets capped at the 7 pin harness on the trailer. The 12V and ground are now providing power to your lights and cameras when the switch is on. The cameras will run off the trailer batteries and your truck’s alternator will charge those batteries while it’s on and the trailer 7 pin is plugged in. Hopefully that helps!
