  • Haven't all we towable-RV owners struggled with backing our rigs into spaces at one time or another? Being able to see everything you need to see from the driver's seat with a large trailer behind you is always a challenge, and having electronic "eyes" on the rear of your rig can certainly benefit you. In this video, we'll install one such product - the Furrion Vision S Vehicle Observation System. Take a look and see for yourself just how easy this process is!

      I may have to take your word on that one. Keeping in mind that my installation was three years ago, I don't remember any tactile feedback when I made that connection, but I guess it's logical that there would've been some sensation to let me know it was a solid connection. I'm real glad your installation went as it should! Thanks for watching our vid!

    So...dumb question...you said that it needs the running lights on to power the camera, I assume that turning the headlights on powers it also?

    • @LiveNLearnRV
      @LiveNLearnRV  4 роки тому

      Correct. I believe pretty much all vehicles anymore have the headlight controls arranged in such a manner that (forgive my non-mechanic's verbiage here) the first "click" turns on your running lights. That first "click" is all that's required to send power through your 7-pin umbilical back to the trailer, and thus the camera, too. Of course, then your second "click" would turn on your headlamps.

    Our 2021 Coachmen Clipper came with the same preinstalled set up...at least we think so. The Furrion cover plate is missing, but it looks exactly the same. I don’t believe the four screws you removed to remove the cover plate are still attached to the housing. I’ll have to climb up there and check. Does the system out of the box come with the four screws to attach the camera? Thanks!

    • @LiveNLearnRV
      @LiveNLearnRV  3 роки тому

      In all honesty, I don't remember if the package from Furrion had screws in it, but I do remember that I used the Rockwood screws that were already in the mount. If I had to guess, I'd say that Furrion did NOT provide screws, as they'd assume you'd recycle the trailer's screws, but that's an assumption, and you know what they say about assumptions... 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @raymondschlegelmilch5461
      @raymondschlegelmilch5461 2 роки тому

      The system as it comes in the box includes the mount, and yes, it does have the four screws for attaching the camera to the mount. Many people won't need them, because so many rigs nowadays come with the pre-installed mount and dummy plate. I needed the whole assembly, because our trailer came with a different version of pre-wire and mount. I had to drill new mounting holes for the Furrion mount, and just used screws to fill the exposed holes I couldn't use that were left over from the unused pre-mount. I cut off the pre-wired connector on the trailer (which was different from Furrion's) and spliced in the one provided in the Furrion kit.
      For the side cameras, I had to buy mounting screws.

    • @LiveNLearnRV

    • @LiveNLearnRV
      @LiveNLearnRV  4 роки тому +1
