I invented the world's most powerful and convenient filament connector. It can connect PLA, ABS, TPU and PVA in only 20 seconds. It is not yet in mass production due to the cost of mass production, but as soon as I get the funding, I will start mass production and start selling it. The performance and convenience of connecting filaments is very good, but the downside is that the price is a bit expensive.

Good idea very poorly implemented. It needs to be way wider to hold the filament level with only the centre being heated. I feel it could be improved.

I did something similar - ran 12v constant power right off my battery through a switch, cameras always hot now and we bring the furrion monitor inside the RV first a security camera. While you have that junction box open, it’s easy to run new trigger wires from the R and L turn signal conductors to your cameras. That prioritizes the associated camera when you flip in your turn signals, and puts that camera in full screen mode while the turn signal is on. Really helps either visibility for lane changes.

Constructive feedback: (1) swap out your mic, the clicking, popping and distortion makes you almost unwatchable. (2) Switch your camera to manual focus, the continuous re-focussing was making feel travel sick! And it usually settled on focussing on the wall behind you! (3) Avoid the fancy transitions, not needed, just cut. (4) Good use of different framing. (5) Consider trimming out footage that isn't progressing your point e.g. watching filament feed for over a minute. Interesting content. Good luck on your UA-cam journey.

Ya unfortunately it seems as though this creator doesn't really understand what he is trying to explain. Or basic editing of the video to engage people and get his point across. It almost seemed like it was satire or done on purpose. Like when he was talking about the filament Temps and said he runs his Pla @ 175°. Also there is absolutely no reason this video needed to be 16min long. Shouldn't be more than 5min at most. Probably even better just a short. I not trying to be rude or seem too critical about it. I understand everybody has to start somewhere, and I wish this guy the best. I don't even create videos or content, but this drove my ADHD self mad crazy!

Not a good tool. I was thinking of building one based on the way a fiber optical splicer works. Two back to back drilled out nozzles with about 1 mm or so gap where the splice goes. A quick discharge of a thousand volts or so should fuse the filament.

  • @jku72

Lol, that LOOKS easy. Because I’m hopeless, the first thing that happens is the wire explodes everywhere making a giant bird nest. Then, after you sort that out, it jams repeatedly while attempting to feed it through. I’ve used 75 of the new roll of wire and haven’t even turned on the welder yet. I should be a beta tester for these things, if I could do it, only then can it be considered idiot proof.

A big overlook on single extruder gear setup is binding from misaligned feeding. 1. the size of wheel matters 2. where the teeth bite on it elongates and the filament comes out curled. I designed my own arm to compensate by having the tension idle wheel about 1/2mm lower when the 1.75 filament is under pressure. Printed in "Tough" PC filament. That both makes it shoot a little towards the outside of the arm and said bite curls the filament straight down. This let me run a 42x23 17Ncm(26oz/in) stepper motor at 16mm3s flow with a 11mm diameter extruder gear. One size larger PTFE tube helps, found many years ago free filament likes to bounce and you get small dimples. So i can run it at 200mm/s @0.16mm height without slowing it down, or 150mm/s at 0.2mm/s, etc That's my story of one of many mods i made to my old wooden Replicator Dual 😬 Oh! i should note, Micro Swiss imo make unusually well thought out products and are one of the few parts i would buy aftermarket without having to test it for a long time to make sure there's no flaw in it. Good news is that there's more and more companies like that in the last few years.

Out of the box you won’t be able to weld aluminum with this welder. Lincoln does make a spool gun which will allow you to “MIG” weld aluminum with this unit. I personally haven’t used one. I usually use a TIG welder for aluminum. Very different process, but works well after some practice.

I've Had Successful Welds By Heating The Welder For 2 Minutes. Shutting Off The Welder Immediately After The Timer Goes Off. Then I Open The Jaws And Set A Piece Of FilaMent HalfWay Over The Contact Point And Shut The Jaws Than Insert The Second Piece Of FilaMent While Pushing Slowly Until I See The First FilaMent Move Slightly. After Setting The FilaMent I Let Them Cool For 3 To 5 Minutes, I Noticed There Was Little To No Warping Waiting 5 Minutes. I Feel When The Jaws Bind A Bit While Trying To Open Them Is The Sign Of A Proper Weld. Hope This Procedure Will Work For You And Others.

Thanks I'm new to 3D printing I just knew something was off with mine so I took the nozzle off of mine and the PFTE liner was all the way down into my nozzle. I'm guessing that's the piece you were saying you had to replace? I guess I'll have to figure out how long it's supposed to be and exactly where it goes in the setup unless you can comment back to me. But I did realize that my whole hotend is loose in there so after I get the parts I ordered from your affiliate links I'll tear it apart and attempt to fix it back up.

    • @builditbreakitfixitmakeit5495

Yep that PTFE liner needed to be replaced. It was jammed/deformed near the nozzle. I just measured it and it looks like it’s 7/8” long. That liner goes inside the heat break which is the metal tube that threads into the heater block and and guides the filament from the extruder to the nozzle. Hope that helps and If you have more questions don’t hesitate to ask!

Couple of things that would improve your videos... Please pay a bit of attention to focusing when showing things to the screen, i.e. at 1:34 when showing the temperature reference table and 1:39 when showing the QR code. When playing music, i.e. from 6:07, please make sure the audio level matches your voice level. Your voice was quite quiet, so I turned up the volume to my headphones, only to be almost deafened when the music started playing! Also, when you're trying to show differences in printed models, you really need decent lighting. At 6:05 the black filament was just too dark to see anything except when the roof overhang of the Benchy passed a bit of light; but then you turned the light on at 6:20 and back off again at 7:08 (different time of day?). And from 9:16 when you're showing the Benchys close to the overhead camera, especially the black filament, it's almost impossible to see what you're trying to demonstrate (it's a lot easier with the lighter though).
