In a way, I was disappointed that you reported that the Earplanes EP2's didn't help you at all, but on the other hand, I was delighted to hear an honest review, without regard to potential income, or lack thereof. It's great that you understand the long term value of integrity and trust with your viewers and patients.
+1
Thank you for your honesty! We need more transparent review to improve products.
This really works i get terribleeee ear pain when on a plane, I NEVER forget to take these. You can also get them in the airport stores
Thank you for your video. It's very helpful. I always get ear pain in my left ear when flying/descending. I had a burst eardrum as a baby and i assume this is why it's so painful.
I have tried earplanes earplugs before. They seem to work ok-ish. They seem to reduce the pain a bit i have felt in the past but still somewhat sore.
I assume the pain would be even worse without them so i use them every time.
Thanks doc!
Didn't think I'd ever see you review earplugs that's new😁🤣 I have a pair myself for flying I'd absolutely have bad ear pain if I didn't wear them or forgot them I'll never forget the time that happened ☹️
Great video
I liked it for your honest view.
I can tell you these ear plugs absolutely work, they are amazing. I thought the same thing when I bought them on a layover in the airport, best decision I ever made. So what happened that led me to buy them , I was very plugged up I had awful head cold I delayed my flight 2 days because of being sick & I had no choice I had to get back home. Well I got on the flight everything was going fine until they closed the door and pressurized the cabin, my head felt like it was going to explode 🤯,I was in the most pain I have ever felt in my life once we got to cruising altitude the pressure in my head found a way out through my tear duct. I had an awful headache the whole flight away almost no relief, well when I changed flights I bought the ear plugs and put them in . I waited for the pain to hit once they pressurized the cabin & nothing , got to cruising altitude also no pain, I had a pain free flight. I always keep one on hand when I fly especially if I have any cold like symptoms. Man do more research before you condemn the product, it’s more for people that are flying with cold & flu symptoms also people that are sensitive to pressure changes which my mom and grandma are , it works for them every time they get plugged ears fly and normal situations
how did u insert them? do u do it so the last ridge in fully sealed against ur ear bc its quite hard to get it pushed in that far
During my last flying I experienced the first severe ear pain, the worse pain in my life. But I think there is a reason that I have common cold and congested upper airways during the previous few days and during my flight.
With difficulty I manage to release my pain after valsalva manouver but I recommend to take some nasal decongestants before flights.
Likewise! I'm afraid to travel in plane because of severe ear pain. Next time I'm gonna try these products!
I have a question when I walk or move I feel like something is loose in my ear
I’m shocked at your review! I’ve had such awful problems with my Eustachian tubes when flying, that I actually was avoiding air travel. My tubes would close and I would experience extreme pain and have hearing loss, stuffiness and ringing in my ears for days. Since using ear planes I’ve experienced none to very mild symptoms. I also use a decongestant and nasal spray. I’m also very careful to use the earplanes as directed with the app. One time I was in the restroom and didn’t get them in as soon as the cabin pressure started to change and I had a bit of a problem. I absolutely love them!
I have the exact same problem as you and I am terrified of flying. I tried decongestant, popping method, ear cleaning, but nothing worked. I finally tried these and it did nothing. I am honestly shocked that it worked for you.
Maybe you didn’t use them correctly?!?! I’m not sure. It did take me a few tries. Did you use the app? If you take them out during the flight the cabin pressure can change quickly and if the app is not on alert, you will be unaware of the change in pressure and have a problem. Some people leave them in during the entire flight for that reason. I like to watch a movie, so I take them out but I keep my phone right near me, and the app open so I know if any changes in cabin pressure happen. I’m extremely diligent about using them. Also, you must use Sudafed with pseudoephedrine, that’s sold behind the pharmacists counter, the one sold on the shelves does nothing!
Good luck, I hope you try again because honest they’ve been a miracle for me. Use the Sudafed and Afrin nose spray as directed with them.
Which decongestant do you use? I combined the plugs with Advil but it’s still not enough for international flight descent
@@cassiefast Did the plugs reduce some pain or didn't work at all? I used the same decongestant as OP.
I discovered EarPlanes a long time ago. I used to get significant pain on descent- and yawing, etc has never helped me. EarPlanes have been a game changer for me- makes a huge difference! It's been more interesting since I started wearing hearing aids, as I have to take the hearing aids out to wear the EarPlanes, but I will not fly without EarPlanes. I did not know that there was an app to go with them! I have become pretty sensitive to the start of descent, so I usually am pretty good at knowing when to put them in. I would feel really weird pulling out an Eustaci and using it during a flight...
Im looking for this! The EarPlanes. I get so much pain during landing and yawning made me want to scream in agony 😣i wish i saw this earlier!
So should I just leave them on throughout the flight?? My first flight is 1 hour long and then my second flight is about 5hours long. And should I wear headphones on top of then too?
Same here! EarPlanes are a Godsend for me. I will not fly without them. I do not experience any type of ear pressure when taking off in the plane, only when descending. So for me, I only use them 1 hour before my flight lands. Once I started to do this (as well as putting them in properly as directed), I have not had ear pain in years. My ears may be a little cloggy after a flight, but there's no pain. As for the app, I'm not exactly sure, but I think it only works with the EP2 version of EarPlanes. I use the original version, so that's fine for me.
Yeah, well I’m a flight attendant and I use this very often and it really helps. Definitely can help prevent barotrauma.
They worked great for me 🤷♀️ I had been driving through the Arizona mountains all morning and my right ear wouldn’t pop, I put these in before my flight and had no problems
Thank you for your time and posting. For seven bucks, I'll give them a try. :)
Really honest review. 2 likes for you
May i ask what app is that? I'm preparing my flight soon. I want to enjoy and have a safe flight for the first time but i couldn't to be excited because of ear infection and sinus. And still finding a tips on what to do before my flight 🥺
Are the flanges that go around the plug soft and flexible or are they hard? I have very small ear canals and I wonder if they will work.
They make small sizes, labeled as "children". They're meant to be soft and flexible. I just bought a pair and can't speak from experience yet.
Surprised there are so many comments that disagree with your test results. We will give them a try on our next flight. My wife had had really terrible ear pain in flights before, even with taking a decongestant pill before flight.
Not sure what was said in this video- I just know I need that shirt!
I use the older version of these. I cannot fly without them! I only have to use them when descending. They prevent my ears from clogging up completely. I also use them when driving through the mountains. I have small ears, so I use the children's size. The adult size makes my ear canal sore...too big. Generic CVS and Walgreen's versions work too!
I have a problem is that when the airplane lands my inner organs( like kidney) starts to swell and almost explodes , and my wrists starts to twist inward, what’s the problem ? I will be thankful
Do they help to protect my ears from wind ? Windy days hurt my ears 😢
A regular 10 cent foam earplugs works just as well.. no need to pay $7
I made this mistake of wearing ear plugs and swimming to the bottom of a 6 ft pool. No problem right? Wrong, When I got out of the pool my 👂 was hurting. It was my left ear only. My ear was bleeding. The do said a membrane was swollen. I was like 8 yrs old, wtf is a membrane, back then I never heard of it. I found out fast.
I found these years ago. My husband never has any problems flying. If I don’t wear them during take off and landing until we are at altitude or back in the ground I get a sinus infection. Every time. I didn’t feel like taking my iPods out because I was watching a movie. Big BIG Mistake. First sinus infection I’ve had after flying in 8 years. For me they work.
For anyone watching this, and hesitant on trying this, I say try the first generation ones first. I can't speak for the EP2s, as I've only used EP1s.
However, I can NOT and I mean can NOOOOOOT fly without these. My ear pain when decending will always lead to incredible pain and my ear drum to burst. Ever since I bought these, landing is sooooo much more enjoyable. Does it stop the pain 100%? No, but I would say about 95% of the time it does and when I do feel pain it's slight and very brief which may because they came loose.
I don't care what this guy's experience is, and maybe the EP2s don't work as well as EP1s but I will never never fly without them.
Same here!
Appreciate this. I cry as an adult woman on descending most flights and I love travelling. Will defo give it a go
Hello I have the same issue extreme pain I feel like I’m about to loose my mind ill try it
Omg really!?? I'm so afraid of my next flight. I had the similar experience on plane that was my first time BTW. I don't want to have severe ear pain again. So are you sure that it'll work for me?
The regular ones worked for me once. Now both the regular and v2 just fall out of my ears. I have pain throughout entire flights.
I had a ear drum rupture the last time flying on descent.
😮😲
How are you feeling now?
@@nimmk1810 +1
how are you now??
He can’t hear us… 😅
I also get really painful pressure round the bottom of my skull at the back and my jaw, my full head feels like it’s gonna explode, I Darby try these ear planes in case they don’t work, it’s pure agony, feel like I’m gonna have a brain haemorrhage the pain in my jaw head pressure in ears, it’s just not worth it 😢
These things do not do jack squat if you have sinus problems like me
Good job, Cliff. Sorry you didn't like them that much. 😕
I never fly without these anymore
Yea I had a similar experience as I used them and I had less pain then I thought my flight pain is behind me- Then I used them on another fight and I was in so much pain
In the end I couldn't tell how much of it was the flight v.s. the ear plugs
Have you tried Mack’s Flightguard Airplane Pressure Relief Earplugs? Reviews say they're better than Earplanes but I have yet to try them (I intend to try them on my upcoming flight) and I'm curious if they actually do help
Are they better?
Did you find any solution? I'm scared for my next flight. I don't want to have ear pain!
Have u tried the product?
I had major ear pain on decent last time I was on a flight. This was the first time this has happened to me and I’m thinking the reason being that could not get my ears to pop. So I’m wondering what could be keeping them from popping, ear wax possibly? I’m actually fearful of flying after that episode.
Same minus being fearful of flying
Same! I have never experienced such agony! And when they did pop! Jeeez the pain!
I tried the ear planes from St. Louis to Hawaii and I still felt the sever pain and I got no benefit from it
Me too. I'm afraid of my next flight. Did you find any solution tho?
I’ve had issues with ear pain and plugged up ears when flying for as long as I can remember. I’ve been using earplanes for about 5years and I don’t know if they help or not. I also use Flonase and I think that’s been a big help in relieving ear pain for me and adjusting air pressure. I also chew gum during descent. I wear hearing aids so I have to take them out to use earplanes and then I’m no longer able to hear announcements made.
I have had a stapedectomy and an ear drum rebuild with tissue from my earlobe. The pain on flying even one hour is excruciating.. I chew like a cow I pop my ears I stuff my ears with plugs nothing works.
I now have to fly 5 hrs.. my daughter is getting married.. she asked was it ok if she did so in the location they chose.. I said of course honey.. I’ll get there some how..
Well flights are booked..
I am petrified..
Petrified..
As I write this a few days out from Christmas I am
ill with pneumonia and have recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour.. yep.. cancer no 4..
oh well I’m not worried about that..
I just want to fly..
To drive would have taken 4 days one way..
Please help
How was it?
Hope you're okay
Hi,
Well right now I’m falling asleep. Wishing I could wriggle my nose and pay off my house..
I’m ok
I flew.
An ENT specialist stuck cameras up my nose, eustacian tubes.
He then gave me steroids, nasal spray and ear planes.
I flew both ways with a tiny little bit of discomfort..
But boy was I scared.
On way to wedding to took them out after ascent but on way back a very rough trip so I left them in. Even though the app suggested I could take the ear planes out.. my ears were hurting slightly.
Thankyou very much for getting in touch with me 🙏
@@Jenb0854 that's great! I'm glad that you got the help you needed. Hopefully over time these issues aren't too bothersome. wishing you luck for recovery ❤
Thankyou.
I hope to one day visit my brother in France..
one day before too long. 😊
Do they also work when you fly out of the country
Nah
But how do you know that it wouldn’t have been worse if you had not had the airplanes in your ears?
"Honestly, I'm not even really sure that the theory of slowing down the rate of pressure change inside of the ear canal would have any impact on ear pain." You would be wrong about that as anyone who has descended under a wide range of descent speeds has experienced. The more gradual the descent, the less ear pain, fer sher !
You're missing the part where I say slowing pressure in the "ear canal" specifically, not the middle ear space. Of course speed of pressure change would have an impact on middle ear regulation and pain. Don't see how attempting to regulate outer ear canal pressure would have any impact.
My phone has a pressure gauge...?
Yup
On the 787, i don't feel anything
Didn't work for me
I used a Eustachi device that relieves pressure and never had a problem since. Its small and easily will fit in a small bag. Its fast and reliable and will unclog your ears quickly.
I had such ear pain that it felt like someone was twisting my ear drum. I dont know if its possible, but at the moment this happened in flight I was seriously concerned about losing hearing long term or passing out due to the pain. It was that severe. I am sure some of you felt the same pain I am describing, it was pure hell.
My son goes thru this on international flights. He's going to India in December any advice. He's going back to his doctor after his flight back from Ireland last summer.
Yes i did. I felt I was going to pass out as well. I am afraid to take my next flight. Do you think it'll work for me?
@@vimal-cliobconsulting I cant say for sure if it will work for you since I dont know if you have any medical conditions, but the method in which it works shouldnt be too much different from one person to next since we all mostly have same ear structure.(unless medical condition)
Also another thing to note is that I realized this occured when I had a mild cold so my sinuses were not normal at the time. This was likelya huge contributing factor to the way I felt, but nevertheless this device worked.
I have traveled without the device and no issues, but I try to take it just in case, but forgot it a couple times. So think back if you had any sinus issues or cold/flu even in the slightest it could have contributed.
@@jensz9360 yes that makes so much sense. I have problems in my left ear whenever I caught cold. But the first time when I had that flight I didn't have cold but yes it was winter. Now I'm gonna have next flight and I hope it won't happen again. I'll definitely try that if it doesn't work I'll go to the doctor.
You obviously have never had excruciating pain in your ears when flying. I put these in during flight and my pain is zero. Without them my head is crushing. Perhaps they only work for people with real ear pain. Not someone like you with just minor discomfort from allergies.
My ear problem is not when flying it's when my friend is driving on highway,I get a earache in my right ear till we get out of that type of air pocket. So what can my audiologist recommend for me to wear . I wear earing aids in both ears.
Please reply to Facebook.
it doesn’t help u tick but u ONKY feel weird but when u get higher it gets more painful but it killed me when it lands
Disappointing. I have such bad ear pain when I fly.
I thought it was just me..it's MAJOR pain..to the point I can't hardly take it......I put my fingers in my ears and it stopped the pain....it actually worked.. 😂
When u pause it at tho moment he will stare in ur soul 1:11
Flyfit is better
Just put cotton it will do the job
The squishy ear plugs should NOT WORK just as well, and are cheaper.
It’s absolutely useless. As a professional pilot I had high hopes, disappointed. Nothing works, avoid flying for a few days. Pro tip: on the ground perform the Valsalva manoeuvre, if your ears pop equally you’re good to go, if not you’ll have issues during descent.
I hope this will help someone else since you give them a negative review. My granddaughter suffers horribly in flying or going over mountain passes with a high elevation. These absolutely worked for her. Please consider that others are different than you. God made us individuals and what works or doesn’t work for one works for someone else. I didn’t like or subscribe for obvious reasons.
Very disappoining.
Speak very fast.
Nothing is made out.
