Tons of information! Very confusing when one knows absolutely nothing about hearing aids. There's a lot to learn. One important thing is finding a trustworthy professional!
Keep watching Dr. Cliff. Very up to date and informative! I’ve been wearing hearing aid for 20+ years and Dr. Cliff is the best I’ve found for up to date concise information!!
You made me feel like I chose the correct one for me, thank you so much! I have the Signia and love them…and here I was going to get the Jabra because online the come off as being bestOTC but….not really the best. I did phone them and they were not forthcoming with info and there are no office with personnel where you can go. Got my Signia, with a free rechargeable case….from Hear USA. Thank you so much Dr. Cliff, you are the best.
Great info as always. Thanks. However... WHY is it that several hearing aid manufacturers use "Made for iPhone" Bluetooth, and ignore Android. Don't they realize that Android has a larger market share than iPhone (worldwide)? Lack of Android support is a deal breaker for me, and I suspect others.
Every iPhone model is built exactly the same way by Apple and runs only iOS versions compatible with that hardware, so app designers have a single target to hit. Android phones are built to dozens of different hardware designs and use dozens of manufacturer-specific versions of the Android OS, making them a much more difficult target, especially for high-performance gear like hearing aids.
This fall I upgraded my hearing aids to the Phonak L70-R from the Phonak M50-R. I have severe hearing loss at higher frequencies in both of my ears. I love these hearing aids! In particular, I love that I can stream hours of audio and they still last all day (even when up at 7AM, streaming for ~4 hours I only start to run out of battery around 12AM). The ability to stay connected to multiple devices is great too as I bounce between using them on my phone and PC. They are very comfortable, even with glasses. I opted for custom silicon ear molds. I also got the partner mic, which has been very handy when I'm out and about in busy places. I thankfully had insurance to cover the cost, but they were about $5500 total. Still dreaming of them making more fun color options! Thank you for the video as I felt even better about my choice, haha.
I'm in Phoenix. I will be getting the Phonak 90's shown in this video, in canal type, next week, at my fitting session, through the VA since I'm a Veteran. I must say, they were very thorough. I was told this is the best type for me, since the in canal also gives your ears the ability to hear other sounds, etc, since my problem is at the 2K freq range and above. They will set them up on Bluetooth for me as well. They also told me it will help my Tinnitus, which that ringing sound is at a higher pitch. Glad the ones I'm getting are ON your List! The VA deals with 5 different vendors and these were the ones my Audiologist recommended for my situation.
I spent a lot of money on Phonak 90 Paradise hearing aids and was super happy with them (for conversations) until the right hearing aid stopped charging. My hearing aid charger was replaced, free of charge. 2 months later, my right hearing aid started buzzing and then refused to charge. 3 weeks later, I had a new hearing aid. 1 week later, neither hearing aid would charge. There is power to the charger, but the charging lights when you flip open the case are dead. No lights. Nothing. So, I'm back to waiting for a replacement. I take real good care of my expensive hearing aids, cleaning them according to videos. They look brand new. I don't understand why my earbuds for $200 sound and work better when connected to my phone than my 7k hearing aids. There is much to be done in terms of hearing aids catching up to earbud technology and efficiency. I have mild hearing loss, but decided I want to hear well now. I'm now thinking of going with a different brand. I'm hoping there has been lots of improvement from 1 year ago. In the meantime, just be aware to know your warranties because you may receive a lemon device.
Don't give up on Phonak before trying the Lumity model. I upgraded from Paradise and it was a dramatic improvement. I now have my Paradise as backups but hope I don't ever have to use them again.
0 seconds ago Dr. Cliff - Reading this fellow viewer's post, I am struck by the fact that these are virtually the identical problems, from the same manufacturer, Sonoma/Phonak that you reported occurring for Costco's virtually identical KS10s, and yet when you issued that video you blamed all those defects on Costco, as if they were the manufacturer rather than Sonoma/Phonak! I was quite offended by that video, and with your pose on the opening scene, wrinkling up your nose as if reacting to a bad odor! Wasn't placing the blame on Costco for those defects grossly misleading?
You might want to try resetting the hearing aids. This can be done by pressing and holding the lower button (the one you use for lowering volume) for about 15-20 seconds. It might look like nothing's happening, but put in into the charger afterwards and watch. You might see the lights go on.
You probably won't see this but I had the same problem, after going to my audiologist she said they had turned themselves off. I don't know what she did but 15 minutes later they were both working fine. I haven't had that problem again.
It's always good to keep up with the current hearing aid technology When I went in three audiologists last summer it's videos like this that gave me a basic understanding on how to talk to your audiologist
WOW.. So much great information and very well presented. After trying Eargo and some over the counter and even a signia one I got on line, I went to the audiologist. She gave me 7 options of Resound the highest being the OMNIA 9.. Is that like Resound you showed (cuz yours has a dif name? She only showed me ReSound.. is that cuz she may have a better deal with them or works with only a few brands. The audiologist should not be attached to a brand, or they could be.. She is in an ENT's office. It is better to go to an independent audiologist or can I buy something different and she should be able to help me with whatever hearing aid I decide to go with. Programming etc.. Do Audiologist only work with special brands ? THanks so much for your quality info..
Hey Dr. Cliff. Thank you so much for sharing! It's the first time I've watched a video about hearing aids in English. I can hear you with my headphones, haha! If I save money this year, I should be able to buy some of the best, high-quality hearing aids. but I live in Thailand. It's not easy though. My recent test results showed profound hearing loss in my right ear and severe hearing loss in my left. Yes, it's really difficult at 23 years old. I started losing my hearing around 5 years old. When I was 3-4 years old, I fell often. This likely affected my whole life - including a fall down the stairs. I think I want to get some great hearing aids. I need to play guitar and learn new languages as much as possible! For now, I can still do both. I can play some songs and even wrote one of my own!
The Oticon review is misleading. They pair with Android phones, but are not hands free. You can hear the other party through the hearing aids, but you have to use the Android phone microphone, and so have to carry the phone around in front of your face. The Phonak is fully handsfree with Android phones.
Thank you, Dr. Cliff and a Happy New Year! Wish you to remain as healthy and active as you are now, and all the best to your family. Sometimes less is more.
If you have 1 perfect ear and 1 completely deaf ear, when comparing cros hearing aids, do all those technologies help in any way? Like stereo zoom 2.0, speech sensor, speech enhancer, motion sensor hearing, dynamic noise controler ...
I have the same question as you. I have severe loss from SNHL in one ear and great hearing in the other. I am trialing the resound model right now, but do not like the way the speaker sounds when streaming. I am going to trial the Phonak next But would love to know whether the $3000 model will work for my situation or if I need the $5000 model for the best help?!
Great and will informed video 👍🏼 , i have 3 suggestions to add on ur next video . 1- the best battery/Long lasting hearing aid (rechargeable) 2- the appro prices of those hearing aids that u provide in ur clincs only . 3- maybe consider abit more elaboration on the Connectivity especially for people who use android, also which hearing aid is the recommended for (old or young / indoor or outdoor performance / easy to fix / easy application / High tech or easy technology ( for ppl who doesn't like lot of stuff on app ) . maybe also best hearing aid for ppl who work out / jogg alot and sweat. (for mr oticon was alot better than resound on this part) . Thank alot drcliff😊
I am a Phonak user, several different ones, always liked them. I switched to Miracle Ear for 4 years then switched to the Phonak Lumity 90, worst hearing aids I have ever owned.
Although, i am not in the market for a new pair of hearing aids this year , the continuing technology upgrades are always an eye opener. I am not a techo geek so some of the extra features on the higher technology devices aren’t something I would miss. There are game changers and dealbreakers on any brand. Telecoil availability was the biggest dealbreaker for me. Second feature that i struggled with was rechargeable versus disposable batteries and the fact at the time that if I chose rechargeable that Oticon was the only rechargeable where the device did not have to be returned to the manufacturer for replacement. It was not easy to narrow down the other features and perceived sound quality. The Phonak Bluetooth capabilities was the factor that made selection a lot easier. I do not know how i survived before Bluetooth hearing aids. I’m also wondering how much better I could be with a table mic. I guess my next upgrade will be when Auracast becomes widely available . Now, if manufacturers could do something about the style and color, bright colors would definitely make me consider buying another pair now. I am hoping someone is working on making devices more attractive. Even though color does not improve functionality, it would improve my overall satisfaction immensely.
I'm a provider that works with both Starkey and Oticon and the fact the Oticon battery can be serviced in office is bar none one of the biggest things they do right. You are spot on with that feature being major.
Dr. Cliff, Thank you again for this great information! I am a regular viewer of your very informative channel. This one is so timely for me as I am preparing to get my upgrade in March of 2024! I am an Oticon More 1 hearing aids user and I am truly happy with them! I am also very happy with the tv adapter! I am afraid, I am not so happy with the new Companion app. I find myself turning my phone on and off as the application does not work most of the time… connecting one side only and the program selection not accessible! I basically rely on the main control, in settings , of my phone…I have iPhone 14. Again , thank you so much for all your insightful posts!🙏🏽👂🏽✅
Rather than a randomized list of hearing aids, I suggest that you list the hearing aids in alphabetic order. Alphabetic order is immediately understood for what it is, and any order other than alphabetic is assumed to have some significance. - That said, this is a useful video, and I always learn from your reviews.
Is there a place you can go to try out a few to see which on you like the best? My mother is in dire need of a new pair but they are so expensive... why isn't it easier to have a try before you buy?
This helped me a lot in understanding the features. For this wondering about prices, here in Wisconsin the Oticon 1 runs from $2500 to $5600 per pair. I just tried them.
@@Jean-ni6of I ended up with Phonak hearing aids. I can wear them all day without fatigue. (I call it hearing fatigue…hearing every bug and bird from two miles away…) I could not tolerate the oticon hearing aids for more than 4 hours.
If I could give accurate pricing, I would. Fortunately, the hearing aid industry isn't a cartel that price fixes that would make everything cost the same. The negative is that pricing is literally different no matter where you go.
Very insightful. Since, Signia Pure Charge & Go also has an AX offering, is it safe to assume that it is intentionally skipped from the 2024 list? Seeking clarity since AX is typically offered by audiologists as a "better" or "more advanced" technology.
I am interested in speech quality especially in challenging situations like noisy restaurants. That is more important to me than Bluetooth or other tech things. Which one is best for that?
I can tell you from my experience that I had the Oticon More and they didn’t help much. I still struggled a lot, even with customization of programming and different “speech in noise” programs. I recently switched to the Signia Charge & Go 7AX and it is a world of difference. Much improved speech clarity with amplifying other noises. And the own-voice processing was a game changer too.
Hi. My understanding of Auracast is that a transmitter can stream to multiple different devices. I am currently trialling a pair of Nexias and the Resound TV Streamer+. They work well but I had hoped that the Auracast streamer could simultaneously connect to any other hearing device with Auracast capabilities. Not so. My wife is also trying a pair of Oticon Intents but the streamer will not connect to them. It appears that Resound have misled customers by describing the device as Auracast if it is only able to stream to their own products.
Which hearing aid is best for musicians? So far , my research indicates that Widex makes the best one because it has no processing lag. You never mention that one. There are lots of musicians in the world, do we not count at your business? I play a lever harp. I would like to be able to hear more of the harmonics again. I don’t have the expertise to be able to interpret your reviews for my situation. Speech is not the ONLY consideration in choosing hearing aids. I tried going to two different audiologists but they don’t get it either. It is so depressing.
I successfully fit professional musicians, producers, and audiophiles with Oticon Hearing Aids. Everyone always says Widex, and while still good, they are not the only brand that can do this well.
@lovinLnCottage - I use Widex, and they’re amazing for musicians! Although I never tried Oticon, but have you ever tried Widex? I will say in my experience that Widex is what I have most luck with out of all the others but I feel like also that Widex is more specifically focused on musical aspects,.. no?
@@kaylasmusic I know I sound like a broken record when I say this, but whatever brand your provider has most experience with is probably the best route, assuming they are actually good at programming for music.
@@ebo7310 if you are over 65 and still working, in the state of Wisconsin,I qualified for free hearing aids. It was through a program in the workforce development office.
I’m a hearing specialist from Athens, Ga. Have you looked into care credit? Or Healthi plan? I know financing might not be an option. However, if you didn’t know about that option I hope this helps you or anyone else possibly needing to get hearing aids! 🥰
My out of pocket costs is more when I use my insurance. I sked them how can this be ?. They could not give me an answer. Hearing aid prices are black magic that cannot be explained.
I've had two set of Receiver-in-Canal hearing now and neither the Phonak or the Oticon have been satisfactory. Going into a noisy environment is a nightmare. I've thought about getting an in-the-canal type next time. It seems to me that they should be better overall. The Receiver-in-Canal type of hearing aids pretty much negates the anatomy of the ear and the in the in-the-canal would seem (to me) to utilize the antatomy of the ear or at least not "override" it. Thoughts?
Not really. This has more to do with your SNR Loss score and how well you are meeting your hearing loss Prescription targets verified with Real Ear Measurement. However, your hearing aids may meet your targets more accurately with a custom earmold on your RIC Hearing Aid or a custom ITE device.
@@DrCliffAuDhi doc, writing this from Romania. My story hurts a bit more. We aren't able to test anything custom without paying the full price first. I do test now the Audeo Life but NO custom year molds so the quality of the sound is so bad and they are useless for me...don't know what to do
i live in portugal and have the same issue. I also was not impressed with the quality of audiologists in my city. I am considering going to another country like London where they have Real Ear Measurement.
I tried the Oticon one. Hearing in noisy environment (restaurants etc) NO improvement. Speech clarity a little bit better.. but not enough to spend that kind of money. Nothing else was improved. Oh and I thought the App was very limited'; there are better ones out there
Please consider videos for HOH and blind users new to hearing aids; settings to include traffic sounds necessary for mobility and hearing aid care when blind.
Is there offices to go to to get started? I'm 78 and am technically challenged. I'm hearing good out of the left ear but nothing except a little static out of right . Where is a nice office supporting this particular brand?
Doctor Cliff should do a better job highlighting that those hearing aids that depend upon the Android ASHA protocol are not sufficient for hands-free phone use (unlike the iPhone protocol). This is a big deal to me as an Android user who will not move to iPhones. Consequently, my choices reduce to hearing aids that accommodate hands free with Android phones - which are only Phonak and the new Orka OTC hearing aids.
I wish Phonak had M&RIE and then we could get the best of both worlds, great Bluetooth and M&RIE! OR Resound be better compatible with Android! I have been holding off getting hearing aids because of this dilemma. My Aud. who is in Dr. Cliff's network recommended Resound M&RIE for me, but I keep hearing about the clunky Android compatibility... I have a Samsung Note 20 Ultra...
I have been demoing the Phonak L90 for some weeks now and I'm really pleased with them. They are super comfortable (the physical sensation of having something in/on my ears actually disappears), have excellent performance, and *automatically* switch the connection back and forth from my laptop and phone as needed. Lastly, they have excellent clarity for me and the person at the other end when used in hands-free mode.@@allenterry6906
I was wondering about these, too. I know another one of his videos said that the audible aids were locked. But, an audiologist office that I talked to said they didn’t have a problem with unlocking them, but you would still need to go to an office that has audible software if you had any issues with them. I do like the fact that Starkey is the only hearing aid company where they are manufactured in the United States.
Hi Doctor: A week ago I was at the audiologist office and after a number of tests, she prescribed me a pair of hearing aids with a quote of $4800, which will be fitted on me a week later. Later at home, I Googled and found the online price of exactly the same hearing aids to be $3200. Is this normal, or am I getting scammed? Is the $1600 difference quite customary and necessary to cover the service to be provided by the audiologist in the weeks/months afterwards?
In my opinion, you got a steal at $4,800 considering it is impossible to get hearing aids online and have them programmed correctly. I approve of your choice to purchase locally. You'll have much better success in the short and long term. 👍
A little less than 8k for the Genius 24. Regardless of the price, the service after the sale is what matters. Also an independent audiologist, locally owned is your best bet, they seem to be more flexible on everything. Do your research.
This is a very good Rundown. But Sorry, I'm tired of the excuses for not giving an estimate of cost in 2023. You know what each of the range of cost is plain and simple, no different than car sales- All the other things mentioned matter, and we are not children, let us figure out the rest after we know the range of cost.
Sorry that is not true. Call 10 different clinics across the United States and you will get 10 different prices. Please report back and tell me what you find after calling. Please make sure to ask about the included services and for how long.
@@DrCliffAuDMy experience has been that they will never give you the price over the phone. So there's no way to even slightly compare. I think that's what this post above was about. It's that you won't even give the range of the aid at all, less services or with. The only place that will quote you a price over the phone is costco in my experience
This is where a Google search and talking to my audiologist worked for me. Then I could find an average price for my area. Everything was always cheaper with my old audiologist because he owned his own business and worked//taught at the University. Since he retired it's been hard to find an audiologist that doesn't have to pay a pe4sentage to some bigger chain/company. Prices went way up due to that.
@bjflinn1 I'm curious how a google search helped you with local audiologist pricing. Without knowing the wholesale price of the aids, there is really no way of knowing if you overpaid. You may feel like you got a good deal, but there is no way to know. Many consumers know the added value of continuing service over a given time and can factor that in themselves. I know a few audiologists I've been to said they were offering me $11k aids for a steal at only $5-6k, not knowing I am informed and what was offered wasn't even a top tier aid.
I am going to upgrade my hearing aids this year. A problem I have with my current ones is whenever I sweat, the hearing aids always cut out. Which of these will correct this issue. I have severe high frequency hearing loss. Thanks
As a first time hearing aid buyer and an Android user, I was all set to get the Resound Nexia 9, but I'm really concerned about the issues with Android 14 OS and the devices dropping connection. Can anyone comment on this?
I have Samsung 22+ and have had BT connection issues while streaming music and phone calls. Works fine in both ears then suddenly only hearing in right ear. I recently went and had Real Ear Measurement however they discovered a problem with left HA and sent it off for repair but they did do Real Ear Measurement on right HA. After left HA was returned, Real Ear Measurement was done on left HA. Left and later I started getting alot of feedback noise in left HA. Went back and they reduced volume and discovered right HA was not up to date. Made adjustments and now can't get right HA to stream. Waiting to hear back from Audiologist but getting very frustrated. Good luck
Would the Lumity be the best choice for someone having higher loss for high ftequency sounds? I am currently trying out a pair Lumity L90 and I feel like overall I was doing better with with my pair of Marvel L30 both in audio streaming as well as everyday life situation. Also what is the difference between the Naida Lumity and the Audeo Lumity? When is one more reccomended than the other?
To totally avoid the cost issue is really deceptive. You can provide a range. But you don't because you think it will scare people away from hearing aids. So, we are left guessing. My guess is $2000-$8000. What's yours?
Thank you for this thorough quick rundown. Increasing the speed by double cuts down on playback time, but also destroys my comprehension. I might find the model of new hearing aid that I want on the open market of internet for thousands$ less than through the audiologist, but my audiologist won’t touch it. Why is this? How can I get the service that I need?
Becasue if everyone bought cheap hearing aids online, instead of a local provider, ZERO people could get high quality care because everyone would be out of business. Support Local Business.
I was looking up the Phonak hearing aid, and as I recall, Costoc did sell them. It says Costco has discontinued selling them and "Sonova to End Sales of Phonak Hearing Aids at Costco as it Eyes Future of Brand." I am very disappointed. Are there any similar hearing devices?
I have the Oticon Real 3 but I’m returning them because the app totally sucks. They will not stay paired with the newest app update. Totally frustrating.
[laughs in Costco] $1500 Kirkland Signature HAs and free services, baby. $60/year for the membership. 11/10 for value (though they don’t treat tinnitus and some other complex issues). Always worth a free consult included with your membership, their tests are very comprehensive.
I have high frequency loss with tinnitus in both ears. Local audiologist recommended, Widex Moment Sheer sRIC 440, which I am getting fitted this-coming week. I'm sad to not see it in your Top 5. From what I've read and what the audiologist said, it seemed to be a good choice for me, however, now I'm wondering if it will be.
Was fitted with the widex 440 and compared it to the oticon real. Previously I'd had a unitron that was 3 years old. I was wanting to upgrade and was keen to compare. I like music and I am a birdwatcher so sound quality and high frequency reproduction are my most important criteria. I preferred the sound quality on the widex. On the keyboard the f above middle c sounded "off" on the real. Also amplification of high pitches was better produced with the widex. I hope you are happy with the Widex. Here in UK the audiologist was selling the Widex cheaper by £500/pair (c$300)
Anyone happen to know whether there is a way to quantify the noise reduction of *combining* ear plugs with ear muffs? I don't think it's linear ( -33db ear plugs *used with* -25db ear muffs = -58db sound reduction). Or is it?
It’s so helpful video I am a musician and suffering from hearing for the past 15yrs and using resound - but it’s just ok could you pls suggest me best hearing aid for musician ?? Thanks
I have great hearing but I've honestly been interested in some equipment that can pick up on voice audio and help me hear what people are saying in loud environments clearly for work.
Hey Dr. C! Great stuff! First time HA user with tinnitus - I'm 30 days into a 45 day trial with the Nexia 9's. So far so good, but I've gotta say I'm pretty disappointed with the streaming quality - sounds like bad AM radio (open domes, I know). Would I be better off looking at Phonak with the ActiveVent receiver? Other thoughts? Love the videos - learning so much so fast!
I am trialing the resound CROS aids level 5 and the streaming quality is terrible. They sound like a cheap speaker from Kmart versus a Bose speaker or even my AirPods! My Audiologist said I could trial the level 9 but she did not think it would make a difference! She told me she cannot change the sound of the streaming. Thus, I am going to trial the Phonak aids next. Let me know if you get it figured and are able to improve the streaming sound.
Hi, I ended up going with the Oticon Real 1's and the streaming quality is pretty good. They will never rival AirPods, but they are noticeably better than the ReSounds Nexia 9's - night and day, actually. The Reals also have larger domes, so I wonder if that helps hold some of the lower frequencies in? (just a guess). I also found the Nexia 9's to be very susceptible to wind noise where it's a non-issue with the Reals. I don't like the Oticon app as much as the ReSound app (seems a bit clunky), but you do have a separate equalizer for when you're streaming and that makes quite a difference too. Best of luck to you! @@triciacarroll3265
Any changes to this list since it was made 8 months ago? For example, would the Oticon Intent now be on the list? Ano other changes? Really enjoy your content. Thank you.
Why can't Phonak off an upgrade from an older model to a newer model. I find that Phonak don't seem to be interested in trade-in or some other method to upgrade, they just want to sell you the latest model with supposed technology advantages.
DR. Cliff, Question, Im a current user of the Resound Linx 9 and was wondering has Resound made any improvements on the newest models of 2024 in terms of Bluetooth range ..im a truck driver and use the Bluetooth to stream music and if I leave my phone in the truck and goto open my doors on the trailer the bluetooth cuts out and stops playing the music. Is there a typical range to the bluetooth aspect that has been updated in terms of range? Thank You for all your informative videos!!
I wonder if phonak custom ear works with the marvel series or if those are too outdated. As a musician the streaming quality on these isn't the best. My hearing loss is progressing to the point where mass market earphones are going to not cut it for too many more years
They will work with the Marvel line. The issue with streamed music is the acoustic properties of domes vs earmolds with venting. You need to trap the low frequencies when streaming to trap bass, otherwise it leaks out of your ears and music will sound flat. For example, music streaming sounds much better when you plug your fingers in your ears. Unfortunately most hearing aids need to be set up to prioritize speech not music streaming.
Hi Dr, will you be doing a video for cic / iic hearing aids for 2024 including whether any of the major manufacturers are bringing out new product lines for this style of hearing aid in the coming year?

Dr.
@@auntpiegr8
You probably won't see this but I had the same problem, after going to my audiologist she said they had turned themselves off. I don't know what she did but 15 minutes later they were both working fine. I haven't had that problem again.
It's always good to keep up with the current hearing aid technology When I went in three audiologists last summer it's videos like this that gave me a basic understanding on how to talk to your audiologist
I still don't have a clue.
Love the format and info of your videos. Also the fact that you are transparent about sponsorship and possible biases. thanks!
The Oticon review is misleading. They pair with Android phones, but are not hands free. You can hear the other party through the hearing aids, but
you have to use the Android phone microphone, and so have to carry the phone around in front of your face. The Phonak is fully handsfree with Android phones.
Thank you, Dr. Cliff and a Happy New Year!
Wish you to remain as healthy and active as you are now, and all the best to your family. Sometimes less is more.
Which one should I buy?
1- the best battery/Long lasting hearing aid (rechargeable)
2- the appro prices of those hearing aids that u provide in ur clincs only .
Thank you so much! It’s been 4 years since I bought K9 Costco hearing aid and now I have decided to change it. You made my work easier😊
Dr. Cliff,
Thank you again for this great information!
Thanks so much for doing these GREAT videos Dr. Cliff!
I didn't learn anything of help to me.
Is there a place you can go to try out a few to see which on you like the best? My mother is in dire need of a new pair but they are so expensive... why isn't it easier to have a try before you buy?
To your provider, especially a private one who sell many different ones
This helped me a lot in understanding the features. For this wondering about prices, here in Wisconsin the Oticon 1 runs from $2500 to $5600 per pair. I just tried them.
Which was better? How much difference between them? Which did you choose and why?
@@Jean-ni6of I ended up with Phonak hearing aids. I can wear them all day without fatigue. (I call it hearing fatigue…hearing every bug and bird from two miles away…) I could not tolerate the oticon hearing aids for more than 4 hours.
Gotta love how hearing specialists never mention prices. Every other industry does. They give price ranges when it’s uncertain. It causes mistrust.
If I could give accurate pricing, I would. Fortunately, the hearing aid industry isn't a cartel that price fixes that would make everything cost the same. The negative is that pricing is literally different no matter where you go.
Why did you not cover Phillips? I’ve Had 3 brands over the past 24 years and my Phillips is by far the best.
(*withOUT amplifying other noises)
Oticon and other hearing aids will come soon with Auracast.
Thank your for such great details describing each hearing aid. Your have great presentation skills! Thank you.
Great video! I am a music fan and love my Starkey Genesis AI mRIC. Those were recommended by my hearing card professional for that reason.
You answered your own question. Widex is best for musicians.
I will say in my experience that Widex is what I have most luck with out of all the others but I feel like also that Widex is more specifically focused on musical aspects,.. no?

You are correct. The best options for you would be Phonak or Unitron hearing aids.

What are your thoughts on the Audibel by Starkey?
Thanks for the replies!
@mrc2165 wholesale pricing varies too..... even for the same device

I recently went and had Real Ear Measurement however they discovered a problem with left HA and sent it off for repair but they did do Real Ear Measurement on right HA. After left HA was returned, Real Ear Measurement was done on left HA. Left and later I started getting alot of feedback noise in left HA. To totally avoid the cost issue is really deceptive. You can provide a range. But you don't because you think it will scare people away from hearing aids. So, we are left guessing. My guess is $2000-$8000. What's yours?
Your $2,000-8,000 range is completely worthless and literally carries no value to anyone who reads it.
Which one of the 5 alternatives do you suggest for Tinnitus ?
Thank you for this thorough quick rundown. Increasing the speed by double cuts down on playback time, but also destroys my comprehension. How should if choose a hearing aid professional?

Is there a hearing aid that’s more ideal for conductive hearing loss?
So much to learn
Hey Dr.
The domes and/or programming are likely the issue. New hearing aids may not yield additional benefit unless these two variables are handled correctly.

While the iPhone 15 does have Bluetooth 5.3, it is not utilizing LE Audio yet. Not sure if this is a firmware or hardware issue with Apple.
Yay Phonak! 🎉

I’m a musician, I have Kirkland hearing aids. The problem I experience is when I’m playing with a band the volume drops. I’m ready for a new set of hearing aids what would you suggest. I will be moving to Florida in the next couple months to just north of Daytona are there any best care hearing professionals close.
If you really want to hear your best, I would recommend that you either drive down the coast to Melbourne to see Dr. Liz White hearingup.com/providers/liz-white, or drive to Clermont to see Dr. Laura Pratesi hearingup.com/providers/laura-bradley-pratesi-aud
@@DrCliffAuD 🙏 Thank you
MSRP on the different models? I'm investigating for my 86yo technofobe grandma, she's also got arthritic fingers so a pair that is easy to put on would be great.
