These are life savers for me, I put them in while taxing for takeoff and remove them at cruising altitude, I put them back in about 20 mins before landing.

1. You use your opposite hand to hold up ear while the other is inserting it into the ear while twisting it like a screw until snug
2. You can hear but it prevents loud noises

Not at all, there is a slight discomfort but that might be due to having them in for a while. Overall it made a huge difference for me, so I'll be using them from now on.

Mostly you just want them to get deep enough so they have a good seal. I found twisting them as I put them in works good. Also it is very important to put him in early before the plane starts to decent or it might not as entended. Goodluck, hope it helps you.

It is recommended to use them only twice. Dust, debre, and wax can affect how well they work. I would say if you are using one for the 16 hour flight for over 4 hours, to bring a second pair.
