As a disabled person who deals with chronic pain and a metric ton of medical issues, constantly switching diet because you don't feel like a 21 year old athlete is wild to me. Like you don't wake up in pain and you have the energy to not only do all your cooking, housework, exercise, work and do a hobby all on the same day? That's like having a superpower from my perspective.
Also, if your thyroid has packed in you need to take thyroxine. Not taking thyroxine with a dodgy thyroid is asking for trouble.
I eat a pretty balanced, imperfect vegetarian and mostly vegan diet. I find sticking to a strict vegan diet to be too difficult at the moment, but a vegetarian diet works for me. I can manage that and stick to it.

Same and I VERY MUCH agree. I remember what it felt like before I got sick. It obviously felt better, but you still have days where you don't feel your best. Healthy people get tired, overworked, underslept, stressed, sniffles, feel down for no reason. The line between normal and abnormal amounts of these things may be grey, but it's important to remind people it's OK to not be super human.
Whether this applies to Tati, I'm not sure. She's always selling. Regardless, it's not a good message to spread, especially when the "fix," is false too.

Daily napper here! Just wanted to add my 2 cents :)
I never was a napper, but then I started working in a place where we have a lot of breaks, and not a lot to do in the area (it’s pretty isolated and in an industrial cul de sac). We actually have a nap room set up with massage chairs, it’s very peaceful. I just started a daily 1/2 hour nap there to take a break from my screen and to avoid having to constantly make small talk with my coworkers (lol)
Anyway, now I am addicted to the nap! If it’s getting close to my nap time I can start to feel cranky and tired! So, my point is, naps are addictive and the body starts to crave it. Like you mentioned, you may get in the habit of napping because you have the luxury to do so. But craving that daily nap doesn’t necessarily mean there is some underlying health problem.

I have talked with a registered dietitian and fertility specialist and both have said that there’s no evidence suggesting paleo is helpful for resolving the issues, and they both recommended a more Mediterranean style diet, plenty of vegetables and whole grains, whole fats, plant protein and some meat to fill it in.

Actually table salt and sea salt are usually very different. Almost all table salt contains fillers, the one I used to buy had dextrose. This is a corn byproduct that is contaminated with sulfites and other chemicals used to extract it. Also seed oils are healthy? Unless they are mechanically pressed they are also contaminated with some very toxic chemicals that are used to extract it. This isn’t fear mongering… I have something wrong with my liver (cholestasis) which makes me highly sensitive to any chemicals that I ingest. If I even consume a tiny bit of processed vegetable oil my whole body will itch for days. You really should do more research before making broad generalizations about some of this stuff.

My doctor said the same when they diagnosed me. I found other doctors for additional options & went gluten free, made lifestyle changes and it made a massive difference. Definitely get multiple opinions and see naturopathic doctor if you can

Doctors always say that diet and lifestyle don't matter because they have next to no training in nutrition. And frankly, they benefit far more from people taking meds... so very little thought and research goes into exploring the effects of diet on certain health conditions. I mean, we are what we eat so it's insane to me that people often dismiss diet as if it doesn't really matter. It can make a big difference.
As someone with an autoimmune disease and issues with a generally overactive immune system, if I had listened to doctors, I'd be on meds and not feeling much better. But I'm at a point where my conditions have been under control for years with a mostly whole food omnivore anti-inflammatory diet.
I don't personally agree with Tati's advice, but I'm just saying... don't listen to doctors who say diet and lifestyle can't help.

I guess I didn’t word my comment correctly. Of course lifestyle changes help literally everything. But diet will not cure hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, period. If your thyroid is making too little/too much hormone, changing your diet affects nothing. Of course you’ll feel better, but it’s not going to cure the issue if your thyroid isn’t working or is overworking.
I’m happy for you guys that you’re not on meds. I’m on them, and they saved my life. I was rushed to the hospital at 16 because my thyroid was not working at all & I couldn’t walk. My lifestyle has nothing to do with it.
My main point was to take advice from trusted doctors, not Tati Westbrook.

The Mediterranean diet is praised as being one of the healthiest in the world, and we consume lots of olive oil and healthy fats. Also very wholefoods based and quite easy to make vegan. And try telling someone from Spain that olive oil is bad for you lmao

She has endometriosis. I was diagnosed when I was 19 and me and Tati are around the same age. Because of my endometriosis, I also have IBS symptoms and other issues. I was medication free for years and eating a vegetarian diet high in soluble fiber and low fat worked for me. Everyone is different. I really hate when people take their anecdotal experiences as gospel and share them as if it’ll work for everyone. A high sat fat all meat diet would cripple me in pain. Ugh.
Edit: I just heard you talk about this, and this is advice I have for anyone with IBS that wants to be plant-based… try lowering your insoluable fiber intake and see if that helps. It seems counter-intuitive, but I cut out things like whole wheats and raw vegetables and added lots of oatmeal, white rice, etc. and I’ve been successfully vegetarian with IBS and other digestive issues for a couple decades now. It’s worth a shot.

I definitely think there might be something to seed oils and over inflammation.
And also, pesticides are linked to plenty of genetic issues including endocrine disruption.
But the issue is that people think that this is a specific issue with why a vegan diet is unhealthy. Im Italian. I use olive oil for everything. I do use the earth balance vegan butter (the soy free one and not against soy) occasionally. But no one needs to have sunflower, canola or soybean oil to be vegan.
Also. This woman and women like her probably have body dysmorphia or something like that.

I think people really need to reframe what "parenting" is. You can be a parent without having biological children, and that shouldn’t be considered a lesser option/last resort. Maybe it would stop people from obsessing/stressing so much over their fertility.
