Its a smiley of.course its worth saving
SMILEY BANANA ONE OF THE BEST MODELS GO FOR IT
I think this is a good project if someone has offered to teach you welding as well ,that will come in handy making the bodywork good ,do your own custom paint job and interior .
They have and even if it’s worse than what it is, it’s going to be amazing to learn from it!
I have a mk 4 and mk 5, great vans this one has 6 wheel studs so should be a 190 which takes Moore weight also being an old minibus should have a better ratio axle for motorways, check all areas for rust especially inner wings and steps, also check history of cam belt before starting, it will run forever if looked after!
I have a mk5 Transit That I have restored, Have a look at the back underneath You will see 2 long springs have a look at the ends where it’s mounted to the chassis If it sold there That’s a good start Also I would take the front Matt out as it holds water And will rust the floor out If you want more help I’m happy to video chat with you And we can go through the van ok
Thay beauty is well worth saving !
can be saved rust looks light for a transit ,the door steps normally rot to paper ,that looks solid not much welding needed ,just clean rust areas ,can use fibre glass on arches and around frame ,just weld were structure holds parts ,new rubber easy
Always worth saving a old transit
I think i have a rebuild on my hands then 😁😁😁
It doesn’t look in bad shape at all , I’d save it , maybe as someone who mentioned earlier , take it for mot or get someone who is an mot tether to take a look , but in the whole I’d say it looks decent for a transit 😊
Thank you I think that’s definitely worth looking into!
Not bad shape at all for a smiley. Bullet proof engine.
Anything can be saved with time, skill and money. If it means something to you, go for it
I think I have a build on my hands 😁😁
Look at the manifold if it's got the Look of a bunch of bananas it's the bullet proof engine especially in diesel but transit usually need welding
Thats the trouble with ford transit rust rust and more rust. Wouldn't worry to much about rust on the outside body work its underneath
Definitely going to do more checks when there especially under the steps!
Anything can be fixed. Save that van long as you have goog mechanics, mean good engine and transmission. Good bit of surface rust you can use rust reformer and she will be good as new. I say if the van was cheap enough. DIY the crap out of it
Mig welder with gas bottle is good
tbh I'd get it moted and see what they find and do that first it might need further welding but get it checked first
That’s a great idea!
They do replacement panels for them
Yeah I have been looking online and cheap enough to get hold of!
they do
galvanized panels now i have a mk5 minibus 2.0 petrol and had it 6 yrs now ive welded all new
galvanized panels on and ther not that exspensive
Looks like the banana engine they can be rebuilt it was the better engine there not the fastest but reliable and if maintained properly start every day
Well time will tell next time I’m up there will be trying to start it! 🤞🏻
@@nikitawallisk24 I can give you quite alot of advice on a diesel if its got good glowplugs and a half decent battery
