I agree with you about Tulin's theme, Yunobo's and Riju's theme: I didn't even know that they had character themes because their theme aren't as iconic as Sidon's theme or The Champion's themes.

yooo just wanted to say the ToT theme in TOTK is actually a version of the song, just really broken apart, different instruments take the melody at different times. It’s more complex music theory reference but it’s absolutely there.

There actually is a reference to Aboard Vah Medoh in Phase 3 of the Wind Temple. There are some fast faced strings that resemble the strings heard all over the original song.
I like to think Mipha's theme playing during the Muktorok battle reflects Sidon thinking of her. Fighting for her or with the spear techniques she taught him.
fun fact: the song that can be heard in the trailer when link is trying to catch zelda, the song also appears in the gerudo desert theme for twilight princess, not just the three songs mentioned (i'm a big nerd when it comes to twilight princess), also i love this video it's super good!
Check out how the Lookout Landing theme changes after doing the main mission at Hyrule Castle. It incorporates Purah's/Hateno Ancient Tech Lab theme in a really cool way. I also like the implication that Purah is playing the recorder sections of the Lookout Landing theme as well as the Hateno Tech lab theme considering she is always holding a recorder and also has it on her backpack in BOTW.
Super Mario Bros. Crossover was such a game-changer for me! 🎮 The way it merged classic NES characters into Mario's world was mind-blowing. Playing as Link totally got me hooked on the Zelda series. It's amazing how a fan-made game can introduce you to an entirely new franchise! 🗡❤

this was an incredible video and I loved all of the work and effort you put into this!! One of my favourite musical references in totk was the dramatic descent theme from Skyward Sword (from the end where you fight of hoards of enemies before Ghirahim) being used in the Demon King's Army fight, especially since those two moments parallel each other!! really, thank you so much for the incredible work!
Thank you so much! We noticed the dramatic descent theme from Skyward Sword playing too, so it's already included in part 2! It's such an amazing parallel to Skyward Sword🙂
I really enjoyed this... It even took me through a memory lane remembering beautiful melories from the Zelda franchise. This is another reason of why I love Zelda!
what an amazing first vid!! You could literally spend hours analyzing the different references in each regional phenomena quest, especially how they connect to each of our new sages and their characters! (I always tear up when Daruk's theme plays in phase 4 of the Fire Temple, it's so emotional and powerful!) Amazing quality & editing, I can't wait to see more!💖✨
This is pretty cool but I wish you categorized some of the important melodies better. Several times (like at 4:49) you refer to TotK's "dragon theme" as the AoC main theme/spirit tracks thing, which while it does absolutely share the same notes, the dragon theme is absolutely something different; and in the moment I time stamped, Zelda says "I know why I'm here"... and the dragon theme plays... just a cool musical moment I wish more people noticed.
Hey! I am not entirely sure if this counts but the gerudo desert theme from TP plays during the attack on gerudo town track. More specifically, it seems TOTK just takes the background beats and removes the main melody. If you play both at the exact same time they are identical!
Thank you for the tip! I've looked into it now. It's right at the start of the track, when we just hear some notes, right? I just wanna make sure we are on the same page! We will credit you if we end up using this in part 2🙂
1:53 I'm sobbing 😭 I'm the BIGGEST Spirit Tracks fan and I didn't even notice the reference to the sacred duet! I've even sung the TOTK theme to myself and made fun of how it sounds like the Miraculous Ladybug theme
This was a phenomenal first video! You newer UA-camrs are really nailing it with your introductory videos! I didn't catch most of these references, and I'm typically pretty good at that, so kudos for your ears possibly being even better than mine! Can't wait for the upcoming part(s)!
26:24 fun fact: the chants heard in totk's fire temple are similar to oot's 1.0 fire temple chants before they were changed to be the chants used in the shadow temple
I didn't know about even half of the references, you did an amazing video finding all those connections! what an amazing video I'm waiting for the next;D
4:56 and 8:40 if I’m not mistaken, before being in AoC, this theme was in BotW, after each blight boss fight in the cinematic. But it was indeed much more present in AoC and I realized its origins only after playing it and coming back to BotW Wonderful research here, and I was pleased to listen to a Zelda documentary done by a woman 💃 I’ll check other videos from you now !
19:10 It’s actually a later part of the two songs, near the end before it loops. Great video! I haven’t finished it yet, I just wanted to comment that before I forgot 😅
How do you only have 30 subscribers? These videos are very high quality and provide your audience with information in a very fun and engaging way. 😊😊👍👍👍👍
23:35 i would say this motif in the water temple and the waterworks is more of a reworking of the ending bit of sidon’s theme’s melody, rather than the faron woods from SS. it may be that though
One thing I don’t hear people talking about much are the Skyward Sword references in the Demon King’s Army theme. For context, I will be referring to the DKA theme uploaded by DylTheis Productions (dyltheisprod) on YT. You can hear a slower, more subdued version of the drum track in The Imprisoned’s boss music throughout the theme, most notably at around 0:48. There’s also a lighter, very subtle resemblance to the SS horde battle theme in a few sections, such as at about 1:32. What stands out to me most is the fact that the SS references in the Demon King’s Army track have a more heroic, upbeat feel to them when compared to the original SS tracks. It makes sense in this context, as the army battle is simply the final hurdle to overcome before you can face Ganondorf. The original SS tracks are more frantic and dramatic sounding because both are played in a desperate situation where you need to act fast, or else the entire world is in grave danger.
Absolutely loved this. As a Legend of Zelda enthusiast since the original, I picked up on many of these, but there were a bunch i missed. I hope you had a good enough response to post part two. Great work
I wish I could go back to May 12th and experience the wind temple for the first time again. I got so excited everytime I spotted a musical reference, and even had a few tears during the boss battle when the dragon roost island/rito village theme broke out. I’ve been waiting months for someone to make this video!! Awesome job👍
15:10 I think the two songs have similar vibes because of their instrumentation if anything. Its not quite the notes, but the feeling you get when you hear them.
I did recognize some of the themes (Its my favorite thing to do when rewatching trailers and cutscenes) but I could only recognize ones I've heard in BotW and AoC (Like the main AoC theme and zelda's lullaby because I've only ever played Botw and AoC T.T) I just love all the theme references!
Beautifully done video! I enjoyed it deeply since I love how the composers fill the Zelda games with so many musical references that tie the series so well!
Excellent video, so much research and love! I immediately recognized 9/10 songs Link was humming and I loved it - the original BotW humming song was the only one I failed to recognize while trying to listen to his songs. I want to add something to the "Final TotK Trailer" - on top of all your mentioned references you can also slightly hear 3 seconds of Urbosa's Theme from BotW (around 20 seconds before Zelda's Lullaby at the end of the track).
I have yet to play a lot of the older games (botw was technically my first zelda game) but holy god all these references, despite having no knowledge of the context for the original songs, i still get insane chills hearing them. also anytime they use or reference zelda’s lullaby i lose my mind bc ive fallen so in love with the tune
Thanks for making this awesome summary! One thing I would recommend though is to swap the order you play the clips. In my opinion, it's easier to hear the reference if you hear the original clip first. I kept having to rewind the video to hear the TOTK version again
The Fourth Terminal in the Wind Temple is such an eerie piece of musical storytelling. You start off with a shaken, unsteady arrangement that sounds like flying in turbulence which weaves into the theme from Rito Village. But I call it by Revali's Theme. Initially, it carries its light, soaring attitude. But the notes don't reach where they are meant to. They twist and fall, like a bird dropping from the sky... into Vah Medoh's theme, Revali's tomb. From there blares Tulin's theme, almost as if to tell you that if you're not careful... he's next. To drive that point home a few notes play, over an over like a heartbeat, faltering, dying. And it's slowly drawn in by the stinging elements of Colgera's theme. Within under two minutes of score, you are being reminded of Revali's death and told that Tulin's next if you fail. It's such a chilling and powerful message that doesn't say a single word.
This was such a well crafted video! I enjoyed it very much and loved all of these musical references you pointed out! There were so many times during TotK when I thought a tune or melody sounded somewhat familiar but I couldn't quite figure out what they may have been connected to. Thanks for the effort that you put into this one! Best of luck with your channel ^^
Like 60 percent of the recurring musical themes come from there- the village, getting the master sword, ganon, hyrule castle, and part of the field theme (I think?)
17:33 - Those string instruments in the background of the theme remind me a lot of the theme that plays in Vah Medoh once you've activated one of the terminals in Breath of the Wild. I don't know if that's just me, but that was one of my favourite tracks in Breath of the Wild, so I heard it straight away.
After the “Zelda’s Lullaby” in the final catch it plays the overworld from the original the Temple of Time on the Great Sky Island plays Zelda’s Lullaby
The best (or at least most concentrated) example of this is the memory scene from the spirit temple, when it goes through 4 or 5 different references in like 20 seconds
I would've loved for you to cover the parts of Ganondorf's fight theme The different phases all having specific leitmotivs that are so nice to notice and honestly make the fight even more amazing
fun fact: ocarina of time was not the first zelda game to feature zelda's lullaby. it was originally known as princess zelda's rescue in a link to the past, and would play whenever you rescued one of the maidens, and of course zelda, in the dark world.
The scene with the Master Sword Beneath Hyrule Castle it maybe hard to hear because of the music talking and Zelda’s torch but it is actually the flute portion of Fi’s theme
Not sure if people realise, but the Age of Calamity leitmotif is actually taken from a small section of Breath of the Wilds theme, and Tears of the Kingdom also pulls from this same part of the Breath of the Wild theme
Im embarrassed to admit it took me to 2023 to realize TP's title screen theme was the Zelda main theme.
Believe me- you're not the only one😛
TODAY I LEARNED
…. i can’t with that

What
Dragon Roost Island leitmotif during the fight against Colgera and the whole "Last fall" ost made me tear up

Thank you! I love that they added so many cool musical references in the wind temple! The colgera theme is such an amazing and nostalgic soundtrack
15:10 I think the two songs have similar vibes because of their instrumentation if anything. Its not quite the notes, but the feeling you get when you hear them.
As a long time fan of Zelda music, this video earned a subscriber!
Fantastic work on finding all that you have!
So many references! Huge work tracking them down and cutting them up. The format of the video works perfectly!
Beautifully done video! I enjoyed it deeply since I love how the composers fill the Zelda games with so many musical references that tie the series so well!
Wow I didn’t even know this was your first video! This is great!
That’s so cool!😊
great video, love your narration!
Great job! I’ll eventually cover as many TOTK music references as I can. You got a ton of them. Love the first video!

Thank you! It means a lot to know that an actual musician enjoyed our video☺
This is such a detalied and amazing analysis! Love the video
Thanks for making this awesome summary!
One thing I would recommend though is to swap the order you play the clips. In my opinion, it's easier to hear the reference if you hear the original clip first. I kept having to rewind the video to hear the TOTK version again
Thanks for the tip! We will consider this🙂
The Fourth Terminal in the Wind Temple is such an eerie piece of musical storytelling.
Amazing! and this must have been hard work! Can’t wait for the next video ! You pointed out so much more than I heard !
Thank you so much! We are glad you enjoyed it😊
There have been times running around at night where I swear I’ve heard Zelda’s lullaby in the overworld. I’m pretty sure it’s mixed in there.
Zeldas lulliby also comes from a link to the past
Yes! I'm so sick and tired of ppl saying it is from OOT when it's actually from ALTTP
Like 60 percent of the recurring musical themes come from there- the village, getting the master sword, ganon, hyrule castle, and part of the field theme (I think?)
@@JohnSmith-wv5kmTruee, yeah, good point! ^^
0:24 gotta love links *vibin*
On the topic of Urbosa's theme: Those notes are actually heard in Divine Beast Vah Naboris and Gerudo Town too
off topic but aaa I love your voice it’s so pretty!!
This is excellent! Love the music of this game, it keeps on giving!
You're right! It's so cool that there are so many hidden references in Tears of the Kingdom! We will credit you if we end up using this🙂
@@Zeldisc- awesome! glad i could help :3
This was really well done video, I never caught any of the music references on my first playthrough
This video was amazing! It deserves more views (:
loved this 💛
After the “Zelda’s Lullaby” in the final catch it plays the overworld from the original the Temple of Time on the Great Sky Island plays Zelda’s Lullaby
Really good video, keep it up !
damn your first video and it's amazing, can't wait for part 2
Fantastic video! Can't wait for part 2!
I think another musical reference to the House theme 10:58 is when you enter a shrine of light and you hear those first few notes of the house theme
I haven't noticed that, but that's awesome! We will credit you if we use this information later🙂
The best (or at least most concentrated) example of this is the memory scene from the spirit temple, when it goes through 4 or 5 different references in like 20 seconds
Wow I haven't noticed that many! We will probably cover some of this in part 2🙂
@@Zeldisc it's rauru's theme > main series theme > rauru's theme again > tears of the kingdom ganondorf's theme > imprisoning chamber
@@JohnSmith-wv5km Thanks a lot! We will look into this!🙂
Every time I hear a Zelda song reference I get goosebumps
Wow, what a great video!! Can’t wait for the continuation!
Amazing vid
I would've loved for you to cover the parts of Ganondorf's fight theme
The different phases all having specific leitmotivs that are so nice to notice and honestly make the fight even more amazing
We have included this in part 2! It'll be posted really soon so stay tuned🙂
VERY good video. I didn't even notice some of these like Vah Rudania's theme in the Fire Temple. Holy moly...great job guys
fun fact: ocarina of time was not the first zelda game to feature zelda's lullaby. it was originally known as princess zelda's rescue in a link to the past, and would play whenever you rescued one of the maidens, and of course zelda, in the dark world.
4:56 This is just that clip. The full thing more clearly resembles Tears of the Kingdom’s main theme /nm
The scene with the Master Sword Beneath Hyrule Castle it maybe hard to hear because of the music talking and Zelda’s torch but it is actually the flute portion of Fi’s theme
Amazing video, I subbed!
Amazing Video! Thank You. Enjoyed watching❤🎉
Thanks! I'm glad to hear🙂
14:58 do yall know what song this is? The one that is in pretty much the entire section.
The song in the background that plays during this section is called: in the fields from spirit tracks☺
You 100% deserve more subs
What a well researched video. Thank you!
really great video!!!
Not sure if people realise, but the Age of Calamity leitmotif is actually taken from a small section of Breath of the Wilds theme, and Tears of the Kingdom also pulls from this same part of the Breath of the Wild theme
