mate a centre diff lock only applies to vehicles that can drive in all wheel drive on road and therefore need a centre diff lock to make the car preform as a REAL 4x4 off road. The everest has auto locking hubs so you are already in proper 4x4 the moment you select 4H. Prado only is in proper 4x4 when you select 4H with centre diff lock. the difference is less to do with locking diffs and more to do with the fact a prado can be driven in 4x4 unlocked on highways giving a safer drive when wet or icy just like a subaru Awd will.
In 20 years the Prado will still be strong and running just like it was. Probably being bought and driven across the country off road by enthusiasts and tourists. I think the Ford would be long buried by then.
What about the 5th injector issues of the 2.8, still an issue but not a recall because is does not come under the heading of safety for the prado driver. too bad if you get behind one when it decides to clean itself.

As far as I know Ford does not need a centre locking diff as it is not a constant 4wd. This is not actually a bonus for the Prado, its a necessity, so that front to rear drive is 50/50. Giving it bonus points for this is stupid, maybe points for being a constant 4wd instead. For all those who say "The Prado will be going for 20 years" you'd be hard pressed to find someone who has the Prado they bought new 20 years ago, let alone one that's running like it was when new.. maybe in the city?
Everest interior looks suspect... especially that infotainment system and tons of cheap looking plastics. I like the small changes to the Prado exterior however it's a dinosaur underneath...wonder what Toyota decides to do with the "300" series Cruiser which would mean a new Prado as well. (I've got a '13 200 series and its a dream to drive)

It doesn't have a centre diff, as it has a Borg Warner clutch driven TCase, however your right, when req, "rock" mode it will lock drive output 50:50 front/rear.. These reviews never really enjoying giving honest factual info.
