I'm waiting for you to put the Sony A6600 bundle with lens on sale again so I can get it :) I'm still trying to figure out the whole lighting situation. I'll worry about that after I secure the camera.
Love these videos !!! They help me so much on my channel!!!
Do you have links to the items you mentioned it your video?
Hi I want to ask, do you redord to camera memprycard, or to computere directly? And how video monitoring during filming is made?
Excellent information. Thanks Matt. Keep them coming.

thanks very helpful for people like me who only podcast once a week for fun
B&H needs to do a video showing how to properly use a ring light without causing circular specular highlights around the subjects eyeballs. Small ring lights that were attached around the camera lens were invented for closeup photography in the 60's and they are very suitable for that purpose. The Larger ring lights that are now being marketed should not be used by amateurs who do not know how to position them to prevent them from producing circular specular highlights in eyeballs. I advise amateurs to stick to more conventional lighting equipment. Although the modern large ring lights have generated large profits for the manufacturers and sellers, they are usually not the best lighting choice for making videos of people for most podcasts or You Tube videos.
If I had to choose, I prefer small ring catchlights over big ones, especially if the camera isn't in tight on the face.
Thanks for this. Im currently renting a large ring light but haven't come across this issue yet. I'll have to record a few mock ups to see the difference and adjust accordingly.
That was refreshing. Question: What would you do, lighting wise, if you don't have the space for a 120d and its dome? Just curious to see if I took a "good", or "decent" option.
Here is a more compact and lighter weight option to consider:

What clamp is being used to hold the light on the varipole? Can the varipole hold both backdrops and an elinchrom light?

Ring lighting is certainly a viable option.

I tried using a DSLR but had trouble getting it to focus correctly when I wasn't behind the camera (I was in front of it). How do I do it? Thanks.
Set up a focus card exactly where the camera will be (the sensor if you can be that precise!) then shoot that/focus that from exactly where you will be sitting. Lock off the focus. Put the camera exactly where the focus card was and you should be good to go.
Use a focus chart to set focus of your position. >Mark<

The space this guy has looks big to me. Could you guys make a video for really tiny places, please?
A redo of this video with budget friendly options would be good. Also, a full frame camera or a smart phone? Really?
A smart phone now is capable of shooting 4k, so really is a great option, if you have good lighting. As for a full frame, I disagree wholeheartedly. A full frame can have as little as 5” depth of focus, so there are some great reasons to shoot aps-c. There are still a whole lot of 2.7k and 4k capable video only cameras, so full frame isn’t the be all and end all. How do I know? 35+ years at the pointy end of the industry, all over the world. So, yes, I do have a clue.
What kind of lens did you use in this tutorial?
We used the Sony Sonnar T* FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA Lens bhpho.to/3DJoIfd
What teleprompter are you using?
This is the Glide Gear iPad Teleprompter.
2:32 Whats that called?
This is an Impact Deluxe Varipole Support System: bhpho.to/2b0e9LF
Looks like you don't even imagine what is a really small space ...
How could I possibly trust your ironclad advice without a neon sign in the background, mate?
Why full format camera? Why not MFT which is smaller and cameras like GH5 can run for hours? Also they are cheaper.
Because full frame format costs more. Most of the choices show in in the video are more expensive than what typical youtuber uses.
😂 You don't know What is real small space‼️
The space is small he blinked
It's not a small space. It's a huge goddamn room. What do you mean small space?
i love how every single youtuber talking about youtuber spaces have fake plants and the same looking with no creativity at all
Audio is the most important thing and you literally skipped through it.
A bit disappointed there's nothing spoken about light source positioning, camera angles, ambient light, camera settings, etc.
Would have only taken a couple extra minutes to explain and would be a complete video then.
Recommending FF camera has no relation with small space.
It does if the user doesn’t have a very wide lens.
@@JohnMacLeanPhotography What difference does it make. I think he just wanted to show Sony. It's a disservice to viewers.
@@JohnMacLeanPhotography stop talking nonsense
@@SwapnilBhartiya what does a brand have to do with it. He’s suggesting if you don’t have a very wide focal length on a crop sensor that you’re not going to show much of the room, which gives the illusion of more space.
So this is a small space for 4 frames. It’s not by force to be a UA-camr. This isn’t authenticity and you are making the REAL ONES look stupid
He said "full frame" to describe 35mm. I thought B&H were supposed to be experts, yet here they are using the wrong terminology. Tsk, tsk...
This is the worst video on the subject EVER. It's a disservice.
