@@airwi3268 on the md-80 was probably when they pulled them off of Phx-msp, but I got to fly the md-90 in 2019, last row, msp-tus, but that was a nonstop flight and I was stuck (interstate closed) in Minnesota for a couple days at that point, so I’m happy it happened.
This Q re-view is not a "trip report", but it is unequivocally one of the best pieces of work QFS Aviation has ever put together. It's magnificent and one of my very favorite videos. Watch it, like it, and sub. Well done Quebec Foxtrot Sierra and thank you so much for sharing!!
As an avgeek who loves to travel like you, it's so hard to look at this and not feel what the employees of these airlines are going through. For some, seeing these stored aircraft fly again would be their only saving grace to keeping his or her job. The problem is, we don't know when that will happen. Amazing footage, and hopefully you won't have to film another one like this.
I used to see those Md-80s flying out of the local airport. Even in August last year, they were still ferrying passengers in the South, they are a real jewel of the 20 Century Aviation, of course including the 747-400, British Airways is already preparing to retire the Queen of the Skies. I hope to see some more jumbo aircraft and T-tail aircraft. Our only hope know is the Boeing 717. I wish Aircraft Companies can be more creative and innovative with their designs. Now, it is all those dull 777s, A320s and A330s flying around. We will always remember you Md-80!
Well that video got me emotional.. Especially the sight of the XL A330. As always, great editing and looks like you had a lot of fun! Greetings from Marseille ✈️
We misst the American Airlines Silverbird Livery. It is a pity that the American Md-80 was retired, it was an iconic plane with powerful takeoffs and landings. Now, you don't get to see much Mcdonell Douglas Aircraft in service anymore. Rest in peace Mcdonell Douglas! Goodbye Md-80.

Airlines and planes used to be diverse in those days. There were trijets and a lot of T-tail aircraft flooding domestic and international airports all across the country. But now you only have the same old aircraft. Last time, you had like TWA, US Airways, Northwest and Continental Airlines, now they are all aquired by the 3 Big Airlines, American, United and Delta. I bet everyone misses the old days.
Im curious who is going to be doing all the inspections for when these aircraft have to return to service. Inevitably these things are going to have some issues as a result of sitting so long.
The ones that are staying there permanently will be scrapped and scavenger for parts (like the AA MD-80s). However, a good portion of these planes are there for long-term storage and will return when COVID blows over. I’m guessing most of the United planes will return, along with the Frontier, Southwest, some American, etc
So sad to see Americans 767,757, and a330 go. It is too soon for them to retire. But, most of them are probably scraped by the time I publish this comment.

Fascinating footage although geez it's sad seeing all of these aircraft rotting in the sun. :( Hope they get back in the air asap!
Both spectacular as sad to see these beautiful machines just sitting there. Thanks for the tour!
Nice to see that United Battleship grey livery again.
Sad and Beautiful like someone else said, I loved it!, great job
Queen is here❤
Very cool video. Spent some time in Roswell a few years back and wondered what the inside looked like.
What a great opportunity to view this from a chopper. I’ve only seen it from the fence line.
Great video! I flew on N949FR last year!
This is quite extraordinary
thanks Q for the overview of the BONEYARD....surprised C wasnt sitting on the skid,,,,with his camera...😁😁
1:14 that's back in Service as now now. My parents flew on that plane on the night of April 28th

I have heard about 50.000 $ scrap price without engines. Would love to have an American MD80 at home 😅😎👍

Looks more like long term storage rather than boneyard. The desert is ideal because of how slow the process of aluminum oxidizing occurs.
