My hats off to all pilots.. seriously! It's just crazy how you all can straighten out at the last second to touching down, bringing everybody safely to their destination. Thanks you so much.

Damn, look at the port wing flex on the 777 at 0:48. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING piloting skills, you're looking at true professionals right there!!!!!!! Awesome video.
Yeah unlike jets prop planes can ride it out and land long ..heavy jets can't do that..they wouldnt be able to slow the plane down fast enough upon touchdown
Yes, I always feel sorry for the Dash-8 pilots and crews. Those long skinny high lift wings seem to be more susceptible to gusts. It's almost like they're surfing their way down through the air. Hopefully those long-legged main gears also have long travel to absorb hard bounces.
These pilots are amazing. These big ton machines had a "quarrel" with mother nature, and it's good to see pilots choosing to divert instead of forcing the landing. BRAVO!

As a pilot with low hours PPL and a few more in gliders, I'd like to make a few comments: 1) Really excellent photography, thank you! 2) The really high standard of training that these pilots have received to reach this level of skill. 3) The remarkable strength of the airframes and landing gear on these truly large craft ferrying MILLIONS of us around the world every day! 4) Probably the most critical factor that every heavy moving object is affected by is INERTIA! May I suggest that the undulations of the runway and adjoining terrain have a marked effect on the mass of air travelling past the airfield. You only have to watch an albatross using the updrafts generated by the slopes of waves to see this. I keep thinking the planning departments where the decision was made to develop AND EXPAND the site couldn't have had any pilots on their payroll! Season's Greetings. Keep up the good work :-)
This runway is not nearly as undulated as it seems from the video. The effect is greatly exaggerated by the low-level head-on view, the distance from the runway and the ultra-long reach telephoto lens.
3.Yes, I used to be real scared that some parts of the wings would break off whenever I flew in Turbulent weather.I could see them swaying wildly at times in hurricane force winds unfortunately. One day, my friend who was an instrumentation engineer who happened to be in the next seat told me that those wings were real tough even though they seemed to bend with the wind and I needn't worry. That's awesome engineering up in the skies.

flugsnug that's the best plane vs. crosswind video I've ever seen. Your camera work catches every tilt, sway, swoop and wiggle. That was perfect, expertly done.
I'm generally very comfortable during turbulence, quick/sudden dips from loss of lift and whatnot just from knowing how planes do what they do, but I hope to never experience conditions that force the pilot to abort a landing.
Justin Jones I once was on a plane where we were about it land then all of a sudden the plane does the steepest turn back upwards, obviously the pilot misjudged the landing and then over the speaker system the caption tried to say there was a fucking turtle on the run way??? Like wtf there aren’t even wild turtles in Australia lmao
The only thing that worries me when there is turbulence is other people standing or when they are serving food. Because there might be a sudden drop and people could fly up to the ceiling and injure themselves. Although it could be an irrational fear.
