One of the best songs the Stones ever did.
I remember when the Stones didn't allow anyone else on their stage.
That was back when they didn't gouge us on the price of tickets, but were all about keeping the price down so a teenager like me making close to minimum wage could buy a ticket on about 4 to 4 -1/2 hours of work.
Back then you could see them in a 20,000 -seat hockey arena instead of watching them on TV at a 60,000 -seat football stadium.
Dave is so awkward, love it! This is beautiful!

totally agree! it’s the interplay between the two guitars that really does it for me. i also love the way the tempo of the song gradually increases during the first minute or so.
i totally disagree w all the hate DM gets for this. his vocals are great, mix perfectly w jagger’s, and dave’s clearly into the song and not trying to upstage mick.
it’s actually mick’s vocals on this version that are an ‘acquired taste’. if you’re too deep in the ‘hot rocks’ ‘retail stones’ fan club, his vocals may instantly put you off this.
but i agree. my favorite version of this tune bar none, studio original included. i’m happy to be finding others. cheers :)

As a guitarist, yes, but not so much when he sings -- which is exactly what he does on "All About You" and "Wanna Hold You," from the band's less-regarded albums Emotional Rescue (1980) and Undercover (1983), respectively.
If I counted the number of times I listened to this phenomenal piece playing in Cafes and Restaurants in the 90s, I'd be still counting....
