Continuing their partnership with the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the world, Eagle Rock Entertainment have announced the DVD and Blu-Ray release of The Rolling Stones'Some Girls Live in Texas 1978'. Available for the first time ever from 21 November 'Some Girls Live in Texas 1978' features Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman live in concert during the 1978 US tour which followed the release of their groundbreaking album Some Girls.
Capturing The Rolling Stones at their live best, and fully restored to the highest level of picture and sound quality, 'Some Girls Live in Texas 1978' was filmed at the Will Rogers Memorial Centre in Forth Worth, Texas on 18 July 1978 on what many fans consider to be one of the band's greatest tours. This was due to the band's 'back to basics' approach both musically and visually, as the shows were stripped back compared to previous tours, harnessing the new punk rock attitude of the late 70s.
Showcasing many songs from the Some Girls album, celebrated for being the Rolling Stones' most direct and diverse collection of music, and which by the time the band arrived in Texas, had gone to the top of the US charts, this concert demonstrates the sheer force and raw energy of The Rolling Stones live on stage.
Some Girls songs like 'Miss You', 'Respectable',' Beast Of Burden, 'When The Whip Comes Down' and 'Shattered' weave into a setlist which also includes 'All Down The Line', 'Honky Tonk Women', 'Tumbling Dice', 'Jumpin' Jack Flash', 'Happy' and 'Brown Sugar.
Originally shot on 16mm film, the concert footage has been carefully restored with the sound remixed and remastered by Bob Clearmountain from the original multi-track tapes.
Available on DVD, DVD+CD, Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray+CD
Tracklisting:
1) Let It Rock 2) All Down The Line 3) Honky Tonk Women 4) Star Star 5) When The Whip Comes Down 6) Beast Of Burden 7) Miss You 8) Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me) 9) Shattered 10) Respectable 11) Far Away Eyes 12) Love In Vain 13) Tumbling Dice 14) Happy 15) Sweet Little Sixteen 16) Brown Sugar 17) Jumpin' Jack Flash
I'll never be your beast of burden
My back is broad but it's a hurting
All I want is for you to make love to me
I'll never be your beast of burden
I've walked for miles my feet are hurting
All I want is you to make love to me
Am I hard enough
Am I rough enough
Am I rich enough
I'm not too blind to see
I'll never be your beast of burden
So let's go home and draw the curtains
Music on the radio
Come on baby make sweet love to me
Am I hard enough
Am I rough enough
Am I rich enough
I'm not too blind to see
Oh little sister
Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, girl
You're a pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty girl
Pretty, pretty
Such a pretty, pretty, pretty girl
Come on baby please, please, please
I'll tell ya
You can put me out
On the street
Put me out
With no shoes on my feet
But, put me out, put me out
Put me out of misery
Yeah, all your sickness
I can suck it up
Throw it all at me
I can shrug it off
There's one thing baby
That I don't understand
You keep on telling me
I ain't your kind of man
Ain't I rough enough, ooh baby
Ain't I tough enough
Ain't I rich enough, in love enough
Ooh! Ooh! Please
I'll never be your beast of burden
I'll never be your beast of burden
Never, never, never, never, never, never, never be
I'll never be your beast of burden
I've walked for miles, my feet are hurting
All I want is you to make love to me,
Yeah
I don't need no beast of burden
I need no fussing
I need no nursing
Never, never, never, never, never, never, never be

Keith and Mick : the last survivors !
Keith and Ronnie intertwining their guitars together is amazing.
The ancient art of weaving
Keith called it weaving, Ronnie too I guess.

This is 100% when The Rolling Stones peaked. They never sounded better than this moment back in 1978.
It's great, really great. Give Ya Yas live from 69 a listen, watch Ladies and Gentlemen from thee tour of all tours live from 72. Listen to the high speed rockin' on Brussels Affair from 73. They're better in my opinion, but your opinion is also great. STONES: Will they make it to 70 years with Keith and Jagger? Could always bring Taylor back. That would be phenomenal.
72 was GREAT too... With MICK... and lots of Folks hate the BLACK and BLUE "Hey Negrita" stuff when Mic got a little too much into his VOODUN" Femal spirit" ...
I just LOVE the STONES....
I hate 2 STONES SONGS....
1. 2000 Light Years from Home
2. PAINT IT BLACK
@@jpb1231000 72' was golden. 78 was really good, but 72' is legendary. The STP (Stones Touring Party.) Ladies and Gentlemen is just far beyond. So perfect. Mick Taylor's effortless lead guitar virtuosity with Keith chugging out the riffs. Bill and Charlie, always on point. A Mick Jagger. A living legend (although they all are legends to me.)
@@robertcooney1938Brussels is just out of this world
It's greatness but nothing like Love in Vain, Midnight Rambler, All Down the Line from 72'. All just greatness. Every Stones album is greatness. People tend to like certain eras. I just love The Stones. I do like the Taylor era the best
Hard to believe Charlie's gone, but he'll live forever through his music.
That DRUM beat he came up with here!
@cjetelomar2010 RIP to your dad TOO from a fellow Stones fan
The songs that the Two of them brought tô Charlie were mostly pieces of shit, Charlie tōòk 'em with a sense of humor, Made thêm Live and Rollin and Rock, made them in tô Hits, Hits, and Rock and Roll, hê is the only person who deserves Ãll the Accolades, but we will let the Two go to work again and see where it goes, you see, when the Two tried to sell as not Rolling Stones music, but they're own music wás they looking for a Charlie Watts BEAT, you can listen to their old albums, Mick seems to be leader of the people in the band, and Keith's album s are done the same way as The Rolling Stones, drummer and guitar ist in the studio jamming, the Stònes always follow ed Charlie's Down a road A Piece and Rocked it out, they have a Drummer that Charlie Watts chose, he chose, jùs lïke the Bass Playa, Mick and Keefe chose Not to be Involved, Hê chose the way to Roll with the Band, ooh you can gõ to the back up tape s of Start Me Up, sêē how it develope s into the song, or the one, Almost Hear You Sigh or whatever the name of the song is, first you hear Keith and Steve Jordan s very Crafty version of the song, then, You get the explosive drumming of Charlie Watts, and Keith playin Acoustic Guitar, something Hê is pretty Adequate at, my friend, Ãll you have to do is listen to, "Connection", ït is when they get their Ãll Together, they had the rigamarole til now, then it became obvious that they should Ãll be together, it was Alway s jùs those three, time and time again they have provided us with soul searching episode s, but don't be fooled My friend, it was Charlie Watts who lead the Way, ooh I forgot, from what I hear on UA-cam, seems as though, this Cat is right on, jùs såyîn ¡😎🥚😎¡

Ladies & Gentlemen, this is why the Rolling Stones are the best to have ever done it.
No band has ever done "Pretty" like the Rolling Stones, Kieth and Ron Wood's intertwining guitar work is really something, just beautiful
I love how he just sings whatever the hell he wants, at whichever point in the song he wants, and with all the best phrasing and attitude he sprinkles in. Original lyric organization is really just a suggestion at this point, and Mick is killing it. Such a great song and epic performance!

@@victoriahoulemarde5694 were u responding to me? 👅👅👅👅💨💨💨💨💨
I wholeheartedly agree. In the album version he ends with the “I don’t need no beast of burden” line, so I imagine that while recording and jamming the song they not only played it many times but also did longer versions of it. I bet it almost became like a cyclical song. It doesn’t really have an end, it ends when Keith decides it ends.
Here it’s almost like he starts the live version where they ended the album version.
Part of me thinks this is the best one being he wasn’t so drugged out. Probably recording purposes. Still love them either way
Mick's on fire

One of my favorite Stone's songs . The dual guitars are great . Bill's bass is great and Charlie's drums are really good . Goodbye Charlie . You were a fantastic Rolling Stone .
You made the band gel together .
Mick absolutely NAILS IT on this one.
I'm so sad that Charlie Watts is gone 😢. He gave such joy with his drums 🥁. RIP 🙏 🕊
Charlie was such an amazing drummer, when he was'nt hitting the high hat he was keeping time with that stick ,and like he said ,he followed keith ; right there is the magic.
Im 16 and i would literally take years off my life to go and see concerts like this back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
I'm like 10 years older and almost feel the same. I wish rock and roll still was going strong.
I was going to go to a concert and was super excited to go but then COVID happened

The Stones possibly at their peak. There were better voices out there than Mick's but NO ONE in this genre could, nor can, touch Mick's unique raw charisma. His uninhibited freedom of expression in interpreting their great music is what has drawn millions the world over to them for half a century. I feel lucky to have these icons among us.
A good voice is just that, useless if used incorrectly... everything else is earned and made.
Mick was and is also one of the best voices out there too!
their peak was with mick taylor
Exactly!! I was just telling my husband that exact 💯 thing ! He is So completely sold on himself...that it wouldn't matter if not 1 person bought into it! And That is Totally why EVERYONE DID!! ...Rock ON MICK
Who would sing this better than? I keep hearing “he’s not the best but….” That’s not the point music is not a sport there is different kinds of great and mick was great at that kind of music Freddie mercury wouldn’t of sang

You got that right!! Mos def!!
Greatest live version of this song I've ever heard...fantastic!
That's a rock band in full flower. When they were good, no one was better.
We all love Keith and Ronnie, Mick sells it.
Jason Barnes : No we don’t. Bill and Charlie are surely rocking here. Guitars are just randomly clanging.
Two guitars, two players, one soul.
Such a great song. RIP Charlie Watts.

+Qui-Gon Jinn Great Comment, it's always a pleasure to watch Keith, pulling those chords out of the guitar.
* Listen to it with good Headphones. The "weave" is amazing. Keith will be on your right, and Ronnie on your left (so you can easily see their actions). PURE TALENT.
* Thank God for the Audio and Video guys who were working that night for the Stones!!!
@chrisw That is true! The live version of Under My Thumb 1981 at the Arizona Stadium is a great example of Bill Wyman doing his job in a fine manner!
They are the best,we were lucky enough to see them a long time ago .
Saw em for the first time in 89. They were called old men. 2000 light years from home. Amazing band. My fave.
My favorite stones song and one of my dads favorites. He has seen them at least 10 times since 1969. I saw the stones with him on their 2019 no filter tour which was my last concert with him. he passed away from cancer unknowingly on october 12. I miss you dad! Let this song ring out while your smoking a joint in heaven. The greatest rock band in the world! This is my favorite live version of this song.
My dad and his brother had a band together and this is a song he sang to my mom while they were dating. My sister and I when we were little use to sing backup with him when he played the song at home. My dad passed in 2018 unexpectedly and this song makes me cry because of the memories.
Best song ever written by the stones along with Angie.
Why is it that when I get drunk I want to hear the Stones as raw as possible.
probably because it is pure rock and roll, and music in general is great to listen too whilst drunk or high.
I am so with you on that Brother 👍
Because it enhances your pleasure
You're not alone. Live Stones is the best drunk music. It is fun as hell to play or just to listen to.
Kev G H me too, I think we just get real after a couple of drinks 😉
It is absolutly unbelievable and unimaginable and the only question is : how many years more?
Can the world persist without the sound and the music spirit of the Stones ? What can come after them ? Let us pray that it never ends ! With far away eyes or with eyes wide shut it should last forever!
So we can divide the modern time into two parts: before and after Stones. And we don't need to mention the present time. It is ouer luck that we can still participate in it.
God created the world, the humanity, the Holy Bible and the Stones.
I
At their peak! Sing it..." Never be without the Stones. Yeah!"
Wonderful song. Greetings from Brazil!! 2024
As an old partyer I've left this song on the jukebox many times before leaving the bar.
Wow! Just listen to this live recording, look at Mick Jagger as he animates through the song. Listen to Keith and Ron and how the engineer puts their guitars in perfect stereo as they groove playing differenty and it smashes into a perfect melody. I hear the bass and drums crystal clear. and Keith on the Backup vocals! This is some good shit!! I guess, well no I don't have to guess, This why the Stones are Legend!
This song has been stuck in my head for TWO days...
Just My Imagination from same concert has been stuck in my head for days now....Beast or Burden's turn!
All my life man
and now its 6 years later...
This song has been stuck in my head for two years.
To me this is the ultimate "take no bullshit" song. Obviously the lyrics, but also the whole feel. But on a deeper level than just what the lyrics say directly. To me it's like that moment where someone does you wrong, and instead of lashing out and being like "hell naw, ain't nobody treat ME like that!!!" and making a fool of yourself, you just walk away silently, powerfully. There's nothing to be said, you know you've been wronged, and so does the other person. And it's not even about proving a point, it's more just about your dignity as a human being. We can zoom out even more, too. We've all been bullied, wronged, made to feel like dirt at some point or another... sometimes more than we'd like to admit. Well this song is that silent "fuck you" and moving on. That's my take on it. And it's a beautiful song.
VERY well said Sir !!!!!
Absolutely 👏

I was 12th row on the floor for this show. Tickets listed the name The London Green Shoe Cowboys. There were only around two thousand seats in the venue. When the Stones hit the stage everyone in the house was on their feet for the entire show. Brings back a ton of memories from that night. ✌️❤️
What a great song and performance!! Mick kills it.
“All your affection, I just suck it up,

This song really looks like they enjoyed themselves onstage, and have fun playing. It's not technical, choreographed and at times imperfect... which makes it perfect. I love it.

That solo is the best thing Ronnie ever did with the Stones. Outstanding.
This song and the live you live album feature great ronnie solos... He fits the stones perfectly but I wish they'd have let hit run the show once in a while
Ron Wood is great. I like him better than Keith overall. Keith came up with some truly outstanding riffs, though.

I really can't find any emotion the Stones did not give their expression to.It's like a painter putting everything in his work. So many colours... ❤love it
Greatest front man of all time.
Best part Is when mick and Keith go back and forth, “Never! Never! Never!”
Awesome guitar, Ron Wood! The guy is so under rated.
Beautiful song Mick jagger
I can groove to this any day of the week. Mick and Keith actually look like brothers here.
Beautiful guitar that Ronnie's playing !!.....
Wow, I agree. Beautiful, amazing guitar, played by an equally amazing guitar player, Ronnie. I'm one of those Stones fans who prefers the Keith/Ronnie combination over the Keith/Taylor one. Ron's playing compliments Keith's and vice versa. Whereas Taylor played more flashy lead breaks, Ron's playing has always been more rhythm conscious, and fits the band better in the bigger picture. Hence the reason he was made an "official" Stone in 1990, and the reason he's still rollin' with the Stones. From huge Stones fan Davey in Ireland... ;)
Well, you know, that's just like your opinion man. :)
That's a Tony Zemaites made custom number, there's a funny story behind that.
Ronnie and Ronnie Lane both went to Zemaites and were telling him "We want you to built a couple of guitars for us and we want to look like this and have these specs."
And Zemaites was going "If they think this all comes for free, they'll have another thing coming!" but then both Ronnie's produced the cash and Zemaites went "No problem lads!"
Perfect!! I agree too. is it a Gibson?

I have never heard..., in over 60 years the kind of one two punch on guitar that Richards and Woods have.....,
Keith & Ronnie guitar weaving. I never get tired of hearing them do it on Beast of Burden.
Mick Jagger, the greatest human being to walk the face of the earth.
and Bill Wyman's bassplaying is just outstanding!
I can't believe I've watched this 1,847,108 times already...
Bruhh that’s like 22 years and some change
U mean 10 million times
So far...
One of the things that makes the stones sound what it is, Ronnie and Kieth improvising on their guitars at the same time
This is a level of live performance that most strive to reach, but ultimately fall short... Ron and Keef are on fire here!
I have been in this zone lately and I couldn't quite decide exactly what or why it was until I began going through these comments. This music, during this time; these artists- and make no mistake the musicians of the 60's 70's 80's and even some in the 90's ( early depending on the genre) were true artists. There is nothing like this is music any longer .... if you go to a concert singers have something that is fixing their voice to sound like the record.. with so many background singers it's difficult to distinguish why the lead is actually even there.
Bee Gees, Fleetwood Mac, Buddy Holly, Stevie Wonder, Duke Ellington, Marvin Gaye. Journey, Steve Miller Band, Genesis, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Doors,Janis Joppelin, Bob Seger, THE Eagles..Michael Hutchison ...that's just a touch...please feel free to add...Michael Jackson, Prince, Whitney, Aretha, Elvis. Bono, Sting, Elton and Dolly...these are the last of the real artists we have.
Extraordinarios!! Por siempre.

What a great bass line!! Great Wyman!! Stones was never the same without you..
Yeah not sure why bass players become expendable, not cool
RIP Charlie though, you're very cool
This song makes me want to move, and when I notice how I'm moving, I'm following the bass line. Bill Wyman was the right bassman for the Stones in their heyday, no question. Love that dark tone that he gets. The Stones never needed a flashy bassist, they needed someone who could lay down that funky groove that could hold together with Keith and Charlie. They got that when they got Bill Wyman.
The drugs doesnt matter....important is the output...thats what the rolling stones gave to us :-)
They lived. That's all we ask.
Charlie and Bill lay down such a beautiful groove. I think they were one of the greatest rhythm sections in rock 'n' roll. Their stable and precise timing provided the foundation, so that Mick, Keith, and Ronnie could let loose. Drums and bass were never meant to be lead instruments.
best band, but time don't wait for nobody, will be the best thing happen to my generation.
This is tight! And Bill Wyman is right in the pocket with his licks and runs.
One of the best songs of The Stones
with Ronnie Wood on the guitar..
This is when they were the best band in the world. Raw-live-and just playing rock and blues and enjoying it. Now everything is a big production and not as enjoyable to watch. Back then no one could touch them as a live band. Ahhh, great memories watching and listening to this.
I am 54, never understood the love for Mick.........now i do.❤
without a doubt the most underrated performance by the blue towel. protect that towel at all costs
watch this in 2024, Mick Jagger, no rocker comparison with him so far from this earth
I gotta say Jim Morrison is pretty darn close.
This is BY FAR mi favourite Stones tune, is the first one I really loved from them and probably one of the first ones I listened to. I listened to every single live version and cover avaiable on UA-cam and on the internet so im qualified enough to say that this is the BEST version of the song again BY FAR, I think is even better than the original, much more sweeter and passionate, Mick really nails it in this one!
agree!!
Bill Wyman -- Keith in one ear, Charlie in the other, keeping it all lubed up and rolling smoothly with that great tone and perfect timing, totally understated, as required. Bill Wyman is what kept the Rolling Stones rolling in their heyday. The whole band is great, obviously -- Mick and Ronnie have one of their best performances ever here, IMHO, and the weave with Keith is mesmerizing -- but when I dance to this tune, my body follows that funky bass line, without even thinking about it. Keith and Ronnie were able to weave like they did because they had funky bass line to weave with.
Greatest performance of this song !
Beyond mind bending. Damn just damn... Put me out....
..lovem😂ick and Stones😂
My God! It´s beautiful.
