Great song. Music is personal, it's whatever raises the hairs on the back of your neck. There's so many amazing songs from great bands that don't make the radio, so only the biggest fans of that band know of them. Pearl jam "Tremor Christ". Blind melon "I wonder". Tom waits "Christmas card from a hooker in Minneapolis". Van Morrison "avalon of the heart", and "steal my heart away". If I could only have 1 song to take with me on a island I think it would be "into the mystic" by van the man Morrison. That's tough for me to say too, because I think every song pearl jam has written is great. I actually think Jane's addiction covers this song, and makes it their own, as well as the original, and I love the original.

I saw the Stones one hot summer night in Downsview Park, Ontario. The Pope had been on the site the year before and some thought the park was now holy ground and "they better not play that song!" Well, you know they were not going to back down from that. With the high pillars of flame and blazing red lighting illuminating the crowd of 500,000, it looked as if the whole park had descended into hell. What a night!! WoooHooo!
The Rolling Stones is still the best now, ever, and ever will be! Mick Jagger knows how to put so much flavor in any and every song his incredible band has never let him down! I got to see the Stones 7 times back in the 80' and 90's and those memories will never die! Still listening to them and always will be!
The best part about the person who put this whole "mix " together , is the fact i have seen all these bands over the last 50 years. To whomever put this together, THANK YOU, it brings some very drug induced memories kinda sorta back .
This was my deceased nephews most favorite Rolling Stones song! He now rocks with pillars of rock ‘n’ roll that have gone through the door of death into a higher life.
I'm 26 and my first concert was The Stones at the Forum in LA during The Bigger Bang Tour in 2005 when I was only 9 but being my dad was a huge fan I was blessed with the experience of seeing this legendary band man, real rockstar shit
Joachim Ziegelmeier It was actually Keith, who played the bass line on the studio version of Sympathy for the Devil. However, Bill did play maracas on the studio version.
Ive followed you guys since I was sixteen, a great influence in my life, my era of music. Im 62 now god know's how I survived the 60' 70 and 80's I did, many of my friends did not. To me it was ground breaking times, although my son would beg to differ and u know maybe his right, this is his time. There's some good stuff around today, but alot of it. I take my hat off to u, although I do not wear a hat. You do it well in your 60's 70's Kind regards
Siempre me han gustado los Rolling Stones desde mi juventud. Tengo ya 60 años, y cuando estoy sola en casa, música y a bailar se ha dichooo...hay que disfrutar la vida. Por supuesto los Rolling Stones Stones...
Stones are legends, just unbelievable. I can't believe Mick is 80, and Charlie is gone. Took it for granted all these years that the Stones were there kicking ass.
They squeezed and distilled the essence of the delta blues and combined it with Rock n Roll to create this evergreen masterpiece. Robert Johnson would be proud of this Anglo Saxon bunch of his disciples....
One of those songs where you hear the beginning and know exactly who it is!! What recognition!! I could only aspire to have a sound like that!!! Love you Stones!! Keep doin the thing after all those years. Incredible!
Respect, they do what they like and they do it because they like it not because they need the money. Beautiful and fantastic performance with legendary musicians.
Some 55 years after I first heard them the stones are still the best band out there. Unrivaled, unsurpassed. They are simply the best rock and roll band ever. Everyone else are wannabees.
Abrahadabra the reward of Ra-Hoor-Khuit the unveiling of the company of heaven. For every man and every woman is s star. Do what though wilt shall be the whole of the law, law under love, love under wilt. 93/93
The lyrics are so easy to understand it's just a history lesson to me. Start from the beginning of time. Saying he's been around for many a long year. Not years. You have to get it from the beginning. Then he goes onto what's happened in history. When Jesus Christ was crucified. To the present. That's what this song is about.
I know. I remember hearing the lyrics as a child and interpreting them literally. When I realized it was a song about political and economic power I couldn't believe how stupid I had been.

Jagger, Richards, Wood and Watts, piezas claves del rock contemporáneo sigan brillando we need you!
bravo who who!
WoooHooo!
Bill Oates i was there too! great time!
The Rolling Stones is still the best now, ever, and ever will be! Mick Jagger knows how to put so much flavor in any and every song his incredible band has never let him down! I got to see the Stones 7 times back in the 80' and 90's and those memories will never die! Still listening to them and always will be!
Nobody could do it like Charlie Watts. Thanks Charlie you made so many people so very happy.
Rest in Rock dear Charlie, so sorry
Questi non sono occultisti...sono musicisti molto bravi che amano il loro lavoro..non c'è il 7:07 male in questa musica
4:52 is the coolest part......Keith starts it.....Ronnie finishes it. amazing timing and playing
Poor Ronnie is so underrated! One he'll of a guitarist and musician. Love see him n Rod team up on special occasions.
Yes, I was following that, too. Real ensemble playing.
I'm 26 and my first concert was The Stones at the Forum in LA during The Bigger Bang Tour in 2005 when I was only 9 but being my dad was a huge fan I was blessed with the experience of seeing this legendary band man, real rockstar shit
the rolling stones do not get enough credit they well deserve, just by this live performance explains ROCK N ROLL... LEGENDS
jagger incredible as a stage man so captivating....
No doubt - one of their best numbers
here especially Keith`s amazing guitar
Bill`s bass great
Now at the age of 66 I still love it
Joachim Ziegelmeier It was actually Keith, who played the bass line on the studio version of Sympathy for the Devil. However, Bill did play maracas on the studio version.
this band raised generations
Alexander Alex do you think SO ?
Ive followed you guys since I was sixteen, a great influence in my life, my era of music. Im 62 now god know's how I survived the 60' 70 and 80's I did, many of my friends did not. To me it was ground breaking times, although my son would beg to differ and u know maybe his right, this is his time. There's some good stuff around today, but alot of it.
I take my hat off to u, although I do not wear a hat. You do it well in your 60's 70's Kind regards
I was there that night!! Just frickin amazing
I recognize you near the scene man 😊😊😊😊
I actually came here to listen to the original recording, but who can take their eyes off this guy? I ended up watching the whole video.
Siempre me han gustado los Rolling Stones desde mi juventud. Tengo ya 60 años, y cuando estoy sola en casa, música y a bailar se ha dichooo...hay que disfrutar la vida. Por supuesto los Rolling Stones Stones...
Old Mick still has it, what a singer, his band pretty awesome too.
Stones are legends, just unbelievable. I can't believe Mick is 80, and Charlie is gone. Took it for granted all these years that the Stones were there kicking ass.
My one year old girl is rocking around the living room.
The next generation is coming.
So please keep on going.
They squeezed and distilled the essence of the delta blues and combined it with Rock n Roll to create this evergreen masterpiece. Robert Johnson would be proud of this Anglo Saxon bunch of his disciples....
RIP Charlie ..thanks for the tunes
In terms of sound quality, image quality, and performance, I think this is the best take of Sympathy For The Devil.
How good is this; great theatricals, generous sympathy. Classical quality; and of course, excellent drumming from the late Charlie Watts.Sayonara.
One of those songs where you hear the beginning and know exactly who it is!! What recognition!! I could only aspire to have a sound like that!!! Love you Stones!! Keep doin the thing after all those years. Incredible!
This song will never die. My son will listen to this song the same way I inherited this knowledge from my father.
Respect, they do what they like and they do it because they like it not because they need the money. Beautiful and fantastic performance with legendary musicians.
Some 55 years after I first heard them the stones are still the best band out there. Unrivaled, unsurpassed. They are simply the best rock and roll band ever. Everyone else are wannabees.
when you get the lyrics you realize how incredible this song is
That's exactly right
Abrahadabra the reward of Ra-Hoor-Khuit the unveiling of the company of heaven.
Thank you so much
I know. I remember hearing the lyrics as a child and interpreting them literally. When I realized it was a song about political and economic power I couldn't believe how stupid I had been.
Most amazing performance and version of this song EVER! LOVE these guys!
the stones are so good
Mick still kicking asses through ages😅😅😅😅😅😅
The best song ever in the whole world !!! Love when a concert starts with it !!!!!
Y’all know some people seem TO forget just HOW GREAT THIS BAND IS, And whatta GREAT “front man” Mick was AND STILL IS ! GREAT song
NO hay ni habrá una banda, más fabulosa, grande Mick
