Funnily enough the execs at Atlantic Records didn't like the album at first. In fact they wanted a bunch of it re-recorded. Boy were they wrong. The album was a massive success 6x Platinum in the US, 3x Platinum in the UK, Diamond in Canada and 7x Platinum in their native Australia.
Yes, Jim Morrison was still very famous in the 80s, still considered an icon, and we absolutely noticed the similarities between Jim & Michael. Back then it was the highest compliment to be compared to Jim. Another lead singer compared to Jim is Ian Astbury of The Cult. He was/is so Morrison-esque (naturally, not in a mimicking way) that he actually joined the rest of The Doors as their singer for awhile....he was amazing with them and the band loved him. Luckily we still have Ian with us, Michael's death was a huge loss.
INXS were such a great band with Michael Hutchins as the lead singer. Gone too soon for me anyway such a great talent. INXS were just amazing with so many huge hits this is one of my favorites from them.
💯 Jim Morrison vibes! I’ve always thought that. I saw INXS live in 1986 here in NZ and they were amazing. I went to the concert curious and came back a huge fan
Funny how it’s been over 25 years since his death, and Michael Hutchence is still driving new female listeners wild. I guess he was like a much more masculine-looking version of Prince.
I once heard a female friend of mine tell me "This guy is sex on a stick." - That has always stuck with me. She said that while we were dancing to this at a club.
'New Sensation' from INXS' Wembley Stadium performance in 1991 is a must see. They were an exceptionally great live band & to watch 80k fans jumping up and down in the sea of people is incredible. I never recommend live performances but INXS is one of the exceptions.
The swagger of Jagger and the sex appeal of Morrison, with a better voice than either. New Sensation is a a funky ear worm. Do the live version from Wembley
Angella all I know after watching how much this song moved you, watching you get Moved and become Shy, Emaberesd, watching you physically move by running your fingers through you beautiful Hair, and giving big smiles is that I wish I was sitting there watching you watching this music video, and how much this song moved you as much as this song moved me the 1st time I hear it. Very Nice Angela. So Happy Angella that to watch you enjoying and discovering as muchas when we di the same. Thanks God Bless
I never made the connection between Michael and Jim before watching this and yes Jim was a huge influence even in late 80s when this came out. Had a room-mate who started wearing black leather and got a white rat just days or maybe it was a few weeks after this inxs album "kick" came out lol.
Their first song 'Simple Simon' was very different but a great track, if you can find it. You need to watch the documentary 'Never Tear Us Apart'. It's absolutely amazing! Seeing someone enjoy someone I loved as a teen is fantastic ❤
Michael was known as .."if Jim Morrison and Mick Jagger had a baby." I think you should recheck this song and video out with Mediate as part 2. They were often played back to back and they just flow. I highly recommend anything live by this band, particularly from the live at Wembley Stadium in 1991 show, but another hidden gem is The Loved One, live from Australia in 1987. Michael was a force of nature live. His stage presence rivals many of the best known names and the man had a voice that just never quit.
I’m sure that, like Jim, Michael was popular with the ladies. I kind of wonder what they were really like, under all the layers built up by fame and success. There’s always a real person behind the art.
You arent the first girl to react to the great , late Michael Hutchins in that way . Yes the comparison to Jim Morrison is uncanny . Both had amazing stage presence . Others to react to would be Suicide blond at Wembley stadium, Burn for you, Original Sin , but honestly you could pick just about any song from that album Kick , they are all incredible .
Loved your energetic reaction to this! This was (is!) one of my favorite 80's club songs! And I STILL believe that Terence Trent D'Arby was (is!) the perfect replacement for Michael Hutchins (R.I.P.)
Another really good song and video of theirs is Not Enough Time, very romantic and sexy! There is also a very good documentary about him called Mystify:Michael Hutchence.
Please react to : 🔥 *INXS - New Sensation (Official Music Video)* 🔥 *INXS - Mystify (Official Music Video)* *solution to c0piright issues* _IMAGE EDITION :_ - Edit the music video with partial % of transparency (and/or text) - Flip the music video from Right to Left _AUDIO EDITION :_ - Put the volume of the music video lower than the volume of your microphone(not too low). What I realized in 1987 was a bottle of or really good white wine and this song in the background means this boy is guaranteed to have a good night ♨️🔥🥵👩❤️👩😍♏💯❣️🤟👄💋❤❤❤😮 Make a adult movie star blush 😂
I remember when this album came out, had to buy it (on vinyl), been a huge fan ever since. So many great songs on that album. Always makes me miss the '80s. Such an amazing decade.
I love watching you dance, brings a smile to my face.
"slide over here"
"OK"
He definitely had Jim Morrison vibes. One of the coolest videos of the 1980s.
Need you Tonight is even better when paired with Mediate
Micheal is still winning hearts today haha
The entire Kick LP is magnificent. One of the best albums of the 1980's.
These guys made some of the most danceable Rock music. RIP to Michael

Yes definitely Jim Morrison-esque. There’s just something about his voice, the tone is just ❤️
I get the Morrison thing for sure.
So sad their both gone. R I P
💯 Jim Morrison vibes! I’ve always thought that. I saw INXS live in 1986 here in NZ and they were amazing. I went to the concert curious and came back a huge fan
1986 for me, too! Only at a tiny venue in Salt Lake City. I was 16 and they blew me away! ❤
Funny how it’s been over 25 years since his death, and Michael Hutchence is still driving new female listeners wild. I guess he was like a much more masculine-looking version of Prince.
Hutchence was a great singer and song writer. One of favorite bands from the 80's!
Incredible band! I saw INXS in San Diego in 1994 and the concert was amazing!
I saw them not long after they started. Few people had heard of them. We thought they were "The Inks"!
@@Dave-un7fh 🤣
Played on MTV constantly when MTV played music videos
I was in 7th grade and this album ruled the world.
New Sensation or What you need by INXS are two of their top songs.
New Sensation is my favorite song from them. She already did "What You Need." ua-cam.com/video/cSpDuI8xBRM/v-deo.html
Wrong. Never tear us apart
I once heard a female friend of mine tell me "This guy is sex on a stick." - That has always stuck with me. She said that while we were dancing to this at a club.
I used to say the same about him!
Jim Morrison/Mick Jagger Listen to "Devil Inside" and "Suicided Blonde"
Nice! INXS was such a fun band. Losing Hutchence was a tragedy.
Yes, Definity a Jim Morrison Style, their music was the most requested songs at the club in the day, loved the times , wow memories
Saw them in 1986 at a college campus amphitheater, and Jim Morrison was the first thing that came to mind.
New Sensation. Both the album version and live version at Wembley are amazing.
'New Sensation' from INXS' Wembley Stadium performance in 1991 is a must see. They were an exceptionally great live band & to watch 80k fans jumping up and down in the sea of people is incredible. I never recommend live performances but INXS is one of the exceptions.
YES! She really needs to see them live at Wembley. Suicide Blonde would be a good one to start with. ❤
This song was HUGE in 87 and 88.
Mystify and Never Tear Us Apart the official videos are my favorites ❤😊
Don't Change is a good one.
Fantastic and fun song! That bass all the way through is so good!
The swagger of Jagger and the sex appeal of Morrison, with a better voice than either. New Sensation is a a funky ear worm. Do the live version from Wembley
Yas!
Jim Morrison incarnate and same age when he died. He was so charismatic.
Nope, Jim Morrison was part of the “27 Club,” Michael was 36.
Love Beautiful Girl and Not Enough Time by INXS!
This was my go to karaoke song! 😂 “Beautiful Girl” is another great song by them.
There is a great documentary about the life and tragic end of INXS lead singer Michael Hutchence. Should seek it out and watch it.
Excellent reaction!!! My favorite INXS song. Thanks for doing it. You're looking great!!!
RIP MICHAEL. Got the Album still
I never made the connection between Michael and Jim before watching this and yes Jim was a huge influence even in late 80s when this came out. Had a room-mate who started wearing black leather and got a white rat just days or maybe it was a few weeks after this inxs album "kick" came out lol.
Fantastic song.nicely paired with Mediate
Thank you, love this song by INXS
Good job keep it up great music 😊
LOVE YOUR MOVES KEEP IT UP --YOUR THE BEST
One of my favorite bands of the 80s.
I cry. I was in college and omg i cant tell you how big KICK was in 1986
We lost him way too soon. And yeah the Jim Morrison vibes were definitely there. Rip Michael Hutchence.
Their first song 'Simple Simon' was very different but a great track, if you can find it. You need to watch the documentary 'Never Tear Us Apart'. It's absolutely amazing! Seeing someone enjoy someone I loved as a teen is fantastic ❤
Another nice reaction of INXS.
Great job and keep them coming.
Omg he was hot, I never got sick of this video on MTV. Michael Hutchence will be forever sexy.

Great band!
I’m sure that, like Jim, Michael was popular with the ladies. I kind of wonder what they were really like, under all the layers built up by fame and success. There’s always a real person behind the art.
I've been waitng for someone to say it, yes JM 2.0.
Absolutly Jim Morrison energy!
Pronounced "In Excess" ! Another great reaction by you Angela!
This was the first song I learned to play the drums to when I was a kid. It’s just audio seduction.
Here's some INXS songs you haven't covered yet that you should check out: "New Sensation", "Not Enough Time", "Beautiful Girl" and "The Stairs"
That whole KICK album was amazing. Tiny Daggers.
Every time I hear the start of this song I think of Fine Young Cannibals - She Drives Me Crazy.
This was a great hit. RIP Michael Hutchence. They were never the same without him.
Great band and song!!
This hit #1 on billboards pop chart #10 onbillboards dance/disco #73 on billboards soul chart in 1987.
you have experienced the power of Hutch. there's no going back!
Yes, i too see Morrison in him. Check out "Original Sin" or "The one thing"
He absolutely has a Jim Morrison vibe! Play Mystify that is my favorite song on the Kick album!
Loved your energetic reaction to this! This was (is!) one of my favorite 80's club songs!
And I STILL believe that Terence Trent D'Arby was (is!) the perfect replacement for Michael Hutchins (R.I.P.)
Like watching u make all the dance moves, they would have been a big band even today, MTV days and Club Days, good review by u yeah 👍😎👌🎸🎤🥁
INXS....Big time 80s band, along with Tears for Fears
Jim Morrison comparison was insightful
He was often compared to Jim Morrison. He didn't like but kinda just accepted it. He dies have the vibe and moves though.
Another really good song and video of theirs is Not Enough Time, very romantic and sexy! There is also a very good documentary about him called Mystify:Michael Hutchence.
Yes, Jim Morrison for sure. That's what i always say as well. This guy just oozed sex appeal. 😍
You must see the LIVE show at Wembley. Michael in person/ in action.
Yes, Hutchence was deffo a student of Jim Morrison!
So may great hits in the 80s, you haven't listened to a Foreigner hit for some time, Waiting for a girl like you is a powerful song.

And not "original sin"?
The lead singer died in 1997 young , like Jim Morrison died young. Last Thursday, we went past Jim Morrisons house on the Hollywood tour
What I realized in 1987 was a bottle of or really good white wine and this song in the background means this boy is guaranteed to have a good night
♨️🔥🥵👩❤️👩😍♏💯❣️🤟👄💋❤❤❤😮 Make a adult movie star blush 😂
I see it too (morrison)
Original Sin as well.
New Sensation and Suicide Blonde are excellent and you should react to both, you won't be disappointed
I remember when this album came out, had to buy it (on vinyl), been a huge fan ever since. So many great songs on that album. Always makes me miss the '80s. Such an amazing decade.
I was the one who requested never tear us apart . If you really what to see the real inxs watch any song fron the 91 Wembley concert
Personally I really liked his work with Max Q, you should give way of the world a listen.
The Swing album which was before this album is my favourite so try "Original Sin". Btw I get the Jim Morrison comparison.
Next INXS song try New Sensation, another different vibe, same album as this one. KICK
This made my day! Thank you for sharing your reaction ❤
I'm an old Baby Boomer who was a huge Doors fan, and Hutchence definitely feels like an 80's version of Jim Morrison 😎
"Suicide Blonde" by INXS .... IMO is their best. Try that one. You'll love it.
Great video, but I suspect the earphones you used doesn’t quite do the he song justice.
dont forget MEDIATE
🔥
Jim Morrison.... nice analogy. Great song. Their best in my view. RIP.
Shame he took his own life, what talented vocalist, writer and front man/performer. Guy had talent and charisma for days. Gone way too soon.
Hardly anyone does the double with Mediate.
Whatever "It" is? Michael Hutchence had a boatload.
If you havent seen them live at Wembley then I recommend that. Also 'Good Times' with another Aussie legend - Jimmy Barnes
he's what jim morrison wanted to be. morrison was described by music journos as sexy. hutchence merely oozed
Would you kindly do a DayOne Reacts to Tower of Power song “So Very Hard To Go”? I truly enjoy your posts.
Kylie Minogue is the woman in this video
