More high SPF sunscreens for the eye area -- not as a marketing gimmick just to put the same thing in a smaller bottle, but actually formulated not to irritate that area. It would be especially nice to see more tinted under eye concealer and color correcter products with SPF 35-50+.
arrangemonster Colorscience makes one, call Total Eye 3-IN-ONE Renewal Therapy.., you will fine your match! There orginal is the medium color..! Using my roommates account..hi my name is Loretta. 🙏🤲
Truly.
i like the colorscience total eye, but the price is ridiculous. i’m surprised there aren’t more eye sunscreens because people would definitely but them. i know supergoop has cream eyeshadows with spf 30 that are nice
I found the colorescience undereye to be drying. I agree though, we need more options in this niche!
@@karenwalker8682 Yes I understand it is expensive! it does have alot of product though & you can use it as a under eye concealer if you dont have alot of dark circles. I bought a new one & have not used it yet, I'm trying to remember because someone made a comment herein saying they felt it to be drying! If so use a moisturizing/ hydrating eye under eye cream ! Because of this covid 19 I didnt even get to finish the very first one I bought! it ended up expiring! What I like about colorscience also is their customer service is good ! I was emailing back & forth with a customer service rep during black friday she was thoughtful & helpful.....Hi I'm using my roommates UA-cam acct my name is Loretta De Los Rios nice to meet you.🙏
I’m 46 years old & lash extensions or false lashes were for special, super glam occasions. They are so overdone now that it’s absolutely comical. Definitely think the trend needs to go for a while🙃❤️
I agree it looks really tacky a lot of the time
Or at least the ones that touch their eyebrows and look like a solid sheet. How can they even stand the weight much less how even beyond unnatural they look. Please make these go away!!
As someone with skin sensitivity and mild rosacea, I have a severe sensitivity to niacinamide. The problem is it’s thrown in almost everything now and there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. I can get away with using one product with niacinamide but not in every single skin care product. The other thing I wish would go away is adding sunscreen to foundations! More times than not it’s always a chemical sunscreen which generally cause irritation plus the fact it’s never going to be enough spf to use as an actual sunscreen…
SAME on the niacinamide in everything…if I hear that it’s helpful for redness and irritation one more time…
Another UA-camr mentioned that and switched to vanicream moisturizer bc the cereve night had niacinamide. The vanicream does not contain any niacinamide. It was hot and flashy if you're curious. She (Angie) is very trustworthy. Does great research like Abbey.
@@melanistar I happened to catch that video as well. 😉 trust me I have read every ingredient on every single skin care product. I was so happy to hear angie mention this issue which isnt widely known.
@@leahzipkin8459 right? I’m like no wrong, It increases flushing with so many people and if you have rosacea this is something you need to avoid! It just kills me when I see it in rosacea products.
Yes! Like that’s great that it helps people for this, but it clearly does the opposite for a lot of us, so why are we still acting like this is a true universal statement…🤦♀️
Agree with you 100% about needing more makeup and sunscreen products for folks with oily skin. It’s a dewy dewy world out there.
Try Australian Gold!...but it's odd to hear this there are so many products for oily skin.🙏
@@frankvelez4997 while I’m now more dry/normal, it DOES seem the products for those with OILY skin seems to be a world of OVERKILL, vs. BALANCE.
I really like It Bye Bye oil free foundation. SPF 50.
YES TO ALL-IN-ONE PRODUCTS!!! I’ve been saying this over and over. I do not want a 77 step skincare routine. I want powerhouse serums that I only need one or two to get everything. That doesn’t mean they have to have super high concentrations of actives, just that they’re doing more than one thing.
Skincuticles has what you want! Higher% higher prices! You get what you pay for though! Bone up on your ingredient deck + some basic chemistry ⚗ 👌
Happy 🛍
@@lisamurcer5950 skin ceuticals markets things this way, but then they don’t package their ingredients correctly. CE Ferulic acid is the best example. Pay $166 for 1 ounce of a great product and send it to me in a dropper bottle so the L ascorbic acid oxidizes after a week or so of use. Then put on the package that it still works when oxidized when the same studies they use to support their high costs do not support that claim. Still, I hear what you’re saying-I’ll modify to wanting affordable, all-in-one products, that are appropriately packaged.
@@JenMB agreed!
I really wish celebrities would stop lying about procedures and saying they look different because of a product 😕 Also, I would love to see better UV filters in the US!
I am SOOOO tired of youtubers showing us how great their hair is from a shampoo/conditioner (after they put 2-3 products in their hair & then heat styled it). Well of course your hair looks good. But it's not your hair anymore :(
@@krystademilio1256 yes! Totally agree !
Cassandra Bankson has multiple videos about that!
@@ElizabethLeeA I've been watching them! 💜🦋
@@stephanieabutler she’s great! 🤗🦋
I think with the eyelash extensions it's more so about how ridiculously thick some people get them but also the fact that people feel like they need long eyelashes 24/7 to feel good about themselves. People think they look bad without long eyelashes. It's the sane thing with people who wear falsies everyday.
I would like to see more silicone and fragrance free makeup and skincare that are affordable and more of an “all in one” vibe. I am not demonizing silicones, I think that they benefit plenty of people, and I use haircare that contains them. However… they personally flare up my cystic acne, cause me to break out, and every product I’ve tried using that contains silicones always pills up, regardless of the amount I use or if I mist my face between layering products. It’s frustrating doing my skincare routine, then going to put on makeup, for it to all get messed up. I don’t want to spend $60 for a months worth of moisturizer to have it be incompatible with my foundation or concealer. I would love to hear your opinions on this topic.
Would you ever consider trying out the hair tie called sleepytie? you put it up while you sleep and it is suppose to prolong a blowout or curls for like a week. I found it on tiktok and would love to hear your take, the results from the video were insane!!
Ive never heard of this let me check it out!
@@AbbeyYung awesome! I’m excited to see what you think:) love your videos !!❤️
Would love to see this too!
That sounds really interesting! I would love to see Abbey try it out too. 💗
I saw it too and immediately thought abbey needs to try this!
I love how you’ve been doing your hair & makeup lately
I want the US and Canada to start using better chemical UV filters, and overpriced gimmicky skincare to stop
I've def learned to listen to my own skin; for example colloidal oatmeal seems to irritate me, which is a calming, soothing ingredient for most ppl!
Here here! I'm tired of only having 1 good option for chemical sunscreen that has to cost $30 for 6fl Oz (Paula's Choice)
@virginiaandrade8009 Yes! For me, it's either Supergoop or Paula's Choice, which are both expensive, or the Kid's Banana Boat, which is slightly greasy. Is there a petition we can sign? 😅
Just an idea for people with closed comedones like me, once I stopped using cleansing oil, my skin cleared up, a lot.... I now just do a first cleanse with micellar water (Neutrogena Skin detox) and follow up with a regular cleanser.
Appreciate your thoughts & info on this! What I think we need in the beauty industry is putting more effort to Not Test on Animals, becoming more Vegan & Cruelty free products. Technology has advanced so much in the recent years I feel like about 90 percent of products should be. There’s no reason why any helpless living creature should have to suffer just to help produce a product. I really think the US needs to step it up not only through companies but also consumers. We as consumers should think more ethically about the products and the expense it take to produce it. I see so many influencers promoting products from Unethical companies and then people just follows along. We as consumers have a lot of power with purchasing products. I also would like to see offering testers at the drugstore. Given we’re still in a pandemic it would exclusively be more sanitary & also less waste with consumers having to return products and it be completely wasteful.
& yes I’m looking at L’Oréal. They’re a multi million dollar company & yet I feel like they’ve made little to no effort to making even their Newer Products Vegan & cruelty free. They definitely have the money to cut ties with from china & other countries that may require the testing of animals. They just keep pushing products, & yes some formulations may good but at the end of the day as long as they have your money their don’t care about the expense. Which is disappointing given that they’re one of the biggest corporate branches of the world & which would help pave the way for other companies and or countries to also follow. I also think there’s this unspoken fear of influencers speaking on this because then they won’t get PR or invited to events.
Totally agree to this comment !
@@jennifermartinez-flores YES! Estee Lauder too. The Origins line used to have all over their packaging that they didn't test on animals (Lauder created the Origins line, they didn't buy it from someone else), but they oh so quietly removed it when they started selling it in China.
@@maeganmchugh omg, that’s insane! Good to know! I used to purchase from that line!
Amen! I refuse to buy L’Oréal because of this.
Love you touching on clean beauty, makes us feel like we are doing something terribly wrong when using a product that falls outside the clean beauty realm and if I like the product and the way it preforms I feel like something bad is going to happen down the road to my hair, skin or nails for using it
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos Abbey; you have helped me really step up my hair and skin care game. I actually had no idea there is such a difference between salon quality and drug store brands! Whyyyyy???
I appreciate that you discuss affordable options because beauty should be available to people at every income level🤑
Abbey + a Dutch bros coffee + amazingly cozy pajamas are by far my favorite way to start my Sunday! Love everything you say and the knowledgeable and classy way you say it. Thank you so much, beautiful girl! 💙🙂💙
Abbey! Love your videos - thank you so much for this. 100% agree with you on all points. ESPECIALLY when you said less greasy options for tinted sunscreens. I'm an oily skin type and I'm constantly on the hunt for a tinted sunscreen that won't look greasy, dewy, or cakey and it just DOESN'T EXIST. Possibly at a much higher price point but I feel that oily skinned people shouldn't have to spend WAY more just because they have oily skin :/ ALSO, one note about cleansing oils at the drugstore - ELF's cleansing balm is FIRE. You have to try it. It's not an oil but it has so many wonderful ingredients and melts even the most stubborn makeup. It's very slightly exfoliating and leaves my skin so soft and clean feeling. And affordable!
I appreciate your take on this. I have difficulty with some sulfates, they’re too harsh on my scalp and they cause itching and rashes. I’m happy that the sulfates have become more gentle but I know they’re not the enemy!
yes, same here!!
Love you channel! Thank you for the indepth descriptions and discussion of ingredients. You're doing a great job and I'm turning to your channel more for great reccomendations.
Great video - Thank you. I got "involved" with skincare while isolated with the COVID period. I am happy I did, my skin looks a lot better. However, as you mentioned it is so easy to wind up with a bunch of one function products. That is what I am currently trying to correct. If you need a number of these and add up the total cost you might as well find one more expensive product that is multi-functional. This may well wind up being less expensive overall ... and so much easier!!
I complete agree on the greasiness of tinted sunscreen. I used to love cerave tinted sunscreen, but I always had such a greasy wet mess of a face only after a few hours. I switched to Naked Sundays hydrating glow mist SPF 50 as a finishing spray and it’s been a game changer! I put it on as a primer, and I can reapply throughout the day as a little hydrating refresher as well as getting more protection.
Yesss the clean beauty trend !I’m an esthetician and clients are so weary about certain products because of like one ingredient in a product . Also, so many things have a slight risk, just like vitamins and medications. Some people might react but the most of people it will not. Great video 🤗

Really enjoyed this chatty style video, and loved being a part of the discussion at the end with the instagram comments :)
Abby, I love that you’re showing the “clean” beauty trend for what it really is, marketing hype! I was wondering if you could research the ingredients that some are saying make the hair shed and fall out. Namely DMDM Hydantoin. There are a lot of hair products that are said to be good and even sulfate free but have this ingredient in them that is supposed to be a formaldehyde releasing agent! Could you please do this as a topic? Thanks 😊
Happy Lunar New Year, Abbey!🌸🌸
I love Waso from Shiseido, it’s a light tinted sun screen that adapts to your skin color, so it basically works for almost any skin tone.
Finding your channel has been life changing - I also have sensitive skin and blonde hair that is hard to maintain so all your tips and tricks hit the right spot!! Thank you for your content, love your videos!!
YES would love all-in-one serums! I'm all about simplifying my routine now and soo over layering 3-4 serums 🥵
Omg it’s so true, I tried finding a cleansing oil/balm at the drugstore and just gave up! I would love to see more affordable cleansing oils for sure 🙌🏽🙌🏽
The best „concealer“ for me:
BOBBI BROWN CORRECTOR
Not a concealer but i like to use it as one because it’s so nice to use. It gives so much coverage and still looks natural on my skin. LOVE 💕😌
YESSSS to the tinted sunscreen for us oily friends!!! 🙌🏼
Thanks to your videos I started using the L’Oréal Bond Strengthening shampoo and conditioner. I have seen such a difference in my hair and absolutely love these products. I recently came across L’Oréal Glossing products. I’d love to hear your thoughts on these.
Thank you Abbie for advocating for us oily gals. We want the goodies too 😆
I totally agree about drugstore cleansing oils! Simple had a fragrance free cleansing oil but it's been discontinued here in Australia. I'm not sure whether it's available or discontinued in the US.
We have the Neutrogena body oil here but we don't have the fragrance free version unfortunately.
Just use jojoba oil, no smell, due a double cleans! Save your money, coconut all cold pressed of cocourse! In Italy 🇮🇹, the women only use the finest olive 🫒 oil. All are cold pressed. Simple, but the best! You do need a 2nd cleaner with all! However, your skin will be so smooth!
Great video. First thing I noticed was, love the side part, so flattering! I have short bleached hair and am always looking for a good leave-in product that doesn't weigh my hair down but helps strengthen, as you said. There's not many around that work for me!

I super love this style video. Such great info and very helpful. 🥰
Great video! I too am over the "clean beauty" drama.
I am really about what my skin needs at this moment. With oily skin/aging skin I'm finding that sunscreen is really hard to find that doesn't break me out or look like a greasy mess. I support you and your opinions. You are amazing and keep doing what you do girl!
Hi, Re: your sunscreen issue for your skin type and aging. I'm in my early 40's and have an oily t-zone and the sunscreen I'm currently using is the Eucerin Photo aging Control SPF 50. The colour of the product is white but it doesn't leave a white cast on your skin as it easily absorbs. Hope this help if you decide to purchase it.
Most sunscreen products do that because of all the chemicals. and because of the Clean beauty drama you hate so much, researchers were able to figure it out and reformulate sunscreens. EltaMd is a great sunscreen for oily skin. You also need a cleansing oil to take off all the sunscreen at night, or it will clog your pores.
@@krystademilio1256 Micellar Water is great for removing sunscreen and make-up.
@@fionadarragh1004 yes that too! I have the Garnier one :)
@@krystademilio1256 Me too that was the brand that I was talking about but didn't put the name in before as I forgot.

Hi Abbey. I enjoyed your perspective as usual, and all I have to add is that you look fabulous, even more so than usual. Your hair, especially, is gorgeous! Did you achieve that using the octo curler? So pretty!
Happy, healthy Sunday, everyone 😊
Totally agree about tinted sunscreens!! There’s a decent matte finish one that Angie from HotandFlashy recommended with three shades called MyChelle SPF 50
This video is sooooo on point. The SPF observations... chef's kiss
What I want to see more of in 2022 is that hairstyle and how you achieved it!
As someone with combo skin that also leans oily I totally agree with you on the finishes of tinted sunscreen! I do not wear normal foundation so I've grown to prefer tinted sunscreen but so many of them are sooo HEAVY and greasy feeling. I've finally settled on my fave which is Neutrogena Healthy Skin Perfector as it isn't heavy, matches me well (shade 20), and is SPF 20 ( I wear higher SPF when doing outdoor activities tho). But my only problem with it is occasionally when I want more coverage it's not the perfect coverage...but anything else I've tried is either an oil slick or makes my skin flat and dead looking. Definitely a market opportunity here for some product.
A new (to me) hair care line is Hairitage. I believe it is only carried at walmart, but not a walmart product, if that makes sense! I have tried the Rice conditioner, Hair oil, hair spray, Texturizing spray, and conditioner. It is pretty heavily fragranced, but I find it delightful. Very clean smelling. The hair oil is particularly nice. My fine, white hair finds all the products wonderful. Give it a try, if you love fragrance!
Love your videos Abbey! Thinking of trying the Drmtlgy serum🙂
The ponds cleansing balm is great. Pink cap, pink and turquoise
Tub
Back to back videos! 🥰 but take it easy girl!🤍
For skin like high coverage concealer I use a tiny tiny amount of Kevin Aucoin sensual skin enhancer mixed in with a normal amount of the glossier pot concealer
I loved this video and would love to see more like it!
YES 👏🏻 I agree I have been wishing for an all in one serum to save time and steps.
Love your videos, Abbey!
love love love your videos ♥️
Absolutely love your look in this video!!!
I always love hanging out with you!
For tinted sunscreens, what about the bare minerals complexion rescue?! They have 20 shades and it's a dewy finish. Definitely my favorite tinted sunscreen with spf 30
Yes, I loved this, please keep them coming!
I agree about the Pharmacy needing more cleansing oils. The only one that’s very gentle, effective without fragrance in the Neutragena cleansing oil and I cannot find it anywhere.
The “I’m scared” girl 🤣 I remember that video so well
Is good stuff I really liked this episode! The biggest one I agree with is the natural looking concealer with good coverage this shouldn't have to be a perfect world for that to occur :)
this women came to my bar one night and when i tell you not only is she obviously beautiful but was sooo extremely nice! i had no idea till just now she has a youtube channel
For “clean beauty”, my opinion is that brands just need to be 100% transparent with their ingredients. As others have mentioned, clean doesn’t mean it won’t irritate their skin. However, I’m all for cruelty-free and appreciate it being called out.
💙❤ᴄᴏɴɢʀᴀᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ʙᴇᴇɴ❤💙 💙❤sᴇʟᴇᴄᴛᴇᴅ ᴀᴍᴏɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ !!!sʜᴏʀᴛɪsᴛᴇᴅ👆💙❤!!!!
You should try the serum glosses from Fawn Beauty! I haven’t even tried them lol but people love those glosses for the perfect amount of color and nourishment!
Yesss to natural beauty for oily skin types!
I agree with you 100% about the tinted sunscreen. I love the Elta MD tinted sunscreen, but it's on the darker/orangey side. I have dry skin, and some sunscreens are too dewy for me, and take forever to dry down.
The Elf moisturizers are incredible. I love their overnight moisturizing mask.
A definite yes to many of the Ordinary's products.
Abbey, you have the most incredible hair. My baby fine, super straight hair is jealous.
Thank you for turning me on to Hertiage's Rice water product. I've been using it once a week, and loving it.
Thanks, Abbey. Stay warm. ❤
Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer - Hydrating Gel Cream has Broad Spectrum SPF 30 and has worked well for me for many years. I am also oily. I powder a little over it in the summer if I feel oily but in winter it is PERFECT. Lots of shades.
Versed has a really good makeup removing balm!! I have sensitive and eczema prone skin and that is super gentle
Re: lip oils - try Lisa Eldridge's lip glosses - they feel like oils and have medium coverage pigment ❤
Jumping all over this video 😍😍🧡

Try Naturium at Target. It’s a line created by Susan Yara. I’ve had to order a few things online because my Target doesn’t carry all products, but I’ve been happy with everything I’ve tried; including a cleansing oil.
Idk how this happened but I’m realizing Abbey is the only creator I watch consistently lol love her energy. Also my name is emily too!! lol
You should try the kosas concealer it gives a really natural finish but it’s med-full coverage
DHC cleansing oil is my all time favorite. I always go back to it after trying recs from youtubers
Fenty beauty makeup is a must 😍
I recommend trying the Pacifica Vegan Ceramide Barrier Cream. I like it even more than the Elf.
The Loreal Bond Strengthening shampoo smells like rancid roses. It also faded my permanent hair color. It did leave my hair soft, but it's back to Matrix's Biolage shampoo for me.
Definitely agree the drugstore could up the skincare game.
Neutrogena Ultra light cleansing oil. Best ever. Amazon sells it for a DEAL you get 2 bottles for just under $18, normally one bottle is $12 at the store. Great first cleanse
Amen, sister, with suncreen for oily skin! Preach!
Agreed! People need to use whatever works for them.
I totally agree that there needs to be more tinted sunscreen shades, or atleast: STOP CLAIMING YOUR ONE SHADE IS UNIVERSAL! I'm usually the fairest shade in most foundation ranges (if they even have my shade), and I've never found a tinted sunscreen that matches my skin tone. The bad thing is with most reviews I've seen on tinted sunscreen, the reviewer usually claims the product is so sheer it would work on anyone. From experience, that's the biggest lie I've ever heard. That's another reason I love your channel, you're always honest about what skin tones you believe a shade would work for.
Edit: it would also be really nice if there was more cleansing oils at the drugstore. I do have an Asian recommendation though, (if you haven't already tried it). The Beauty of Joseon Radiance Cleansing Balm. It's fragrance free, and feels very nice compared to some other, more oily cleansing balms.
I agree with everything you said.
With regards to lash extensions, a couple youtubers come to mind, their lash extensions make their eyes look smaller and are so bushy and unnatural looking.
Could you please do a make up video on the look you wear in that video ? I love it 😍
Can you do a skin exfoliant video, if you haven't already, and include those Neutrogena ones! Also the Maybelline tattoo studio eyebrow line.
The issue here is that the consumers are far more educated than ever before so whether 'clean beauty' is misleading or not is somewhat irrelevant cause the bottom line is that the companies are stepping up more and more to offer us better products cause the demand is there.
Not sure this is true because there is absolutely zero guidelines/regulation for “clean beauty” and as always companies jump on the bandwagon for sales/profit not for the protection of consumers. I’m not on board with clean beauty yet because the term means absolutely nothing until there is regulation. Now “cruelty free” is something I think all companies need to comply with.
@@christian5707 Clean beauty movement will always be better than when all you had was a product full of chemicals to choose from. Please read about Victorian times and all the poisons, etc they were putting in their creams. Thank god we learn! Since switching to sulfate & silicone free, I don't have dandruff or straw dry hair anymore. It actually makes me angry to think that my shampoo/conditioner caused all my problems. There was a time when all I used was Head and Shoulders (cringe). The point of beauty products is that we should not ever need to rely on chemicals to fix problems. Fix the root of the issue, not just put a band-aid on it.
@@krystademilio1256 like I said if the term “clean beauty” was backed by actual regulation I would jump right on board however until that happens I will do my own research and decide what I think is the safest, best product for me. I’m all for making things better but clean beauty is marketed like a religion now without any guidelines or regulations just falls flat for me.
@@christian5707 it makes no sense that you are only on board for clean beauty fully if it's regulated? The entire cosmetic industry is Not regulated so your argument should go for all facets of the beauty industry, thus rendering all your products unusable. Chemicals are bad, less is better. But I understand why you would hate the term "clean beauty" it's like gluten free on a label. That doesn't mean it's good for you. A lot of natural products suck! But do I HATE the clean beauty movement? NO! it's kind of weird to hate something that is good for products overall (and it sounds like you like clean beauty).
@@krystademilio1256 I didn’t say I “hate” them I just think jumping on board without actual regulation on the term clean beauty is ridiculous. And you are right the beauty industry as a whole is not regulated however one can simply check out ingredient listings on their own to make the best choice for themselves. Clean beauty means something different to everyone. I’m not opposed to certain chemicals because I understand the use that they have in a particular product. I’m one of those people that has used a cosmeceutical dictionary for the last 25 years. I’m a licensed esthetician and ingredients listings has always been one of those things that interests me.
I have mixed opinions on clean beauty. For me, I really value sustainability focused brands as well as cruelty free, and I find that a lot of “clean” brands value both! In terms of ingredients, as the product that isn’t heavily fragranced and it’s effective, I don’t really care what goes into it.
Have you seen the dermarolling trend on TikTok? Very curious about it but would need more info such as if it works for bleached hair, can you only use it on a clean scalp (not ideal if you only wash once a week?)
Also the rosemary oil/water trend?!
You're the only person I trust with hair based stuff like this!
Try Neutrogena hydro boost hydrating concealer. Also yes, enough with the extra eyelashes whether they’re fake or extensions. It’s an overdone look.
Benefit tinted lip balms are a good shout if you're looking for something pigmented that's also not too heavy. :)
New viewer here! Loved the video, I am excited to go watch some more!
Yes, I hate the "clean beauty" trend. It's more fear mongering and misleads people. The things that I'm most allergic to are "clean / natural / organic". I can't use "clean" sunscreens with zinc oxide because it gives me a terrible rash, so I need "unclean" chemical sunscreens - and I'm good with that. I don't need anyone from Goop telling me the product that works for me is somehow unsafe when that's just not true.
