Really enjoyed this video. A yearly graveyard video would be great! The Vanicream cleanser is still my favorite. I figured out if you put a pump or 2 with a couple of drops of water, emulsify, and apply on a dry face it creates this creamy texture that's so satisfying. I've tried a few milky cleansers but just does not give enough oomph for me. Agree with Pond's cold cream. The product does not emulsify and always felt like a heavy greasy mess.

I use Timeless and (plain) Buffet. It's the copper that could get oxidized by the Vit. C. I use both Australian and MyChelle - I have super oily skin. I think the MyChelle can pill sometimes if I don't wait between layers - the AG goes on better under makeup for me.

I definitely fell out of love with Australian Gold, I’m very fair and it made me look kind of orange?! To make it work I had to take it all the way down my neck and then the tint would rub off on my clothes. However I HATED the mychelle! I’ve been loving the Tula mineral magic, as well as some of your recommendations from your Asian sunscreens video! Beauty of Joseon and SkinAqua are changing my life!!
Hi I'm Loretta De Los Rios using Frank's account to make this comment. Abbey Young I meant I I also have the La Roche Posay Milky cleanser but I do NOT use it often! It depends! So I continue here. Ok Thank you. Be well! God bless!👍🤲👋🎶🎷🎻🎸🎈😊🇱🇷🎵🎹🙏
I love the ordinary copper peptides serum! It does more for my skin than any vitamin C serum ever has, including my ex holy grail the ce Ferulic. I have re-added a vitamin c derivative serum to my daytime routine though, the bubble daydream serum. Have you tried it? It feels so good on the skin
I’ve purchased the Vanicream and Australian Gold sunscreen bc of you haha! Still LOVE the Vanicream though, use it every day 💕 I agree that the Australian Gold sunscreen can make you look “dirty” but I do still enjoy it because of the high SPF and it’s affordable 😂 I find some days I don’t look muddy, some days I do. I think it has to due with how much oil my my skin decides to produce that day, so weird!
I use both Australian Gold and Mychelle. The major difference between them is AG is water resistant and Mychelle isn’t. I wear AG when I’m active or outside on a hot sweaty day.
Function of Beauty has changed their formula. I loved it for a bit and then the conditioner got thinner with less slip to it. It seems like a ton of companies get big and then start cutting corners.
I had the same problem of stinging skin from the Neutrogena, and also had it with other products as well. Came to find out its because hyaluronic acid is added to so many products, that it was too much and has the wrong effect
Me aswell. It's weird... is it the fragrance? I'm no longer buying there products-just never have any luck. This happened recently with the hydro boost night cream i was trying out. Fab video! Im still loving TO peptide serum i use every second day, VitC the other.
Hyaluronic Acid is anti-inflammatory, so it is not the hyaluronic acid. It is getting a bad rap because skincare people are saying it is in everything. It should be in everything. Look closer to see what is irritating. Maybe the fragrance. I have no issue with the Neutrogena except it is not cruelty free.
Ironically, I just bought the Vanicream cleanser and am really loving it! Appropriately, since I'm ramping up my usage of retinol, it's really coming in handy!! Regarding the Australian Gold SPF vs Mychelle - I bought 2 bottles of the Mychelle b/c Angie from Hot & Flashy loved it so much. I knew I'd like it, too! Nah, I've got combo leaning oily skin so I thought it would be THE sunscreen but that was so incredibly dry that I was not able to spread it around. Thinking I got a bad bottle I tried the other bottle and it was the same mess. I tossed 'em both - yuck. The Australian Gold is better IMO. But I'm not a UA-camr, so there's that.... Great video as usual!!
I HATE the Mychelle sunscreen. Looks horrible and greasy on me and it gave me an awful red rash!! Still love love love the Australian Gold. Glad we live in a world where we have options 😀
I accidentally ordered the tan water instead of mousse and just put the tan water into one of those foaming bottles. It made it a mousse. Seems to be basically the same formula in a different bottle..
When I first started really focusing more on taking care of my skin I tried the botanical sunscreen and at first I loved it but then realized it felt very cakey on my dry skin so then I tried Colorscience it has been my favorite since. Colorscience really helps my dry skin glow and I actually reach for it and take it to work with me every day and it honestly doesnt feel like I am wearing sunscreen which makes it worth it for me♡♡. Also my favorite cleanser is the cerave hydrating formula it must feels so nice and cooling on my dry skin. Ever since I started watching your channel a year ago I have learned so much about skincare and really take care of it a lot better. Your channel has helped me alot♡♡
I am still loving the AG sunscreen, just started my second tube after not being able to find it for several months. I would try the MyChelle one bc I love trying your reccs but looks like it’s 5x the cost of the AG one and I really do not like using glass droppers.
I've tried both and am still sticking with Australian Gold! I have oily skin and live in a humid environment. Matte sunscreens are a must! The MyChelle sunscreen is more pigmented, so if you don't find a good skin tone match, it doesn't work well. I found it to be more drying than Australian Gold. But, if you want to replace your foundation or something, MyChelle could be good for you. The tint in Australian Gold is just enough to hide the white cast and acts more like pore-filing primer for me. I finally got the new restock of Australian Gold today and they added a snap opening instead of the screw on cap. So much easier!
I love the AG too, I wear it and add it little powder to my t-zone and can skip foundation. I tried the MyChelle after Angie Hot & Flashy recommended it, but it’s super drying and my skin would sting after a few days of wearing it. Into the trash it went and I’ll stick with my AG
I was amazed at how many of these opinions I agreed with! I also found the Australian Gold to be VERY heavy on the skin and unflattering. I wondered what was wrong with me when everyone else loved it😆And the Tanologist Dark Mousse is my favorite tanner for how long it lasts and fades so naturally. I appreciate hearing your updated opinions!
Not everybody loved it. They actually changed the formula because so many were complaining it was drying. Now y'all don't use it and we are stuck with an inferior product.
I have been using Austrailian Gold for Years, since before Anybody talked about it on YT (even Dr Dray!). Dr Ellis Did recommend it, and since my skin has become dry since moving fom Florida to New Mexico. I have found using a good moisturize underneath or adding a few drops of water makes it just as usable as Drmtlgy's tinted mineral sunscreen. And it costs quite a bit less, so I will probably cont to use the rest of my life!
I have sensitive skin and Mychelle stings my skin- have you tried the extra dry neutrogenia? That one doesn’t have the fragrance and maybe that’s why your skin is getting irritated. I still like ag but I should look into others
Hi everyone 😊💟 Is it true that Copper peptide serums are just working till we use it?? I mean is the results different from retinol or vitamin c for long term changes? I hope i’ve asked my question correctly.
Yes, 2 products in the graveyard too. Australian tinted sunscreen. Kept trying but color made me unhappy so I ended up dumping it. And the Vanicream cleanser. Just didn't repurchase. It was okay...just not exciting. Thanks!
Hi Abbey ❤, I would love to see a video of customised haircare please! I will check-out the Ordinaries Peptide as the Timeless Vitamin C Serum is difficult to get delivered to the UK and now I think its time to try this since you have gotten amazing results from using this. Pixie have a range of one-and-done eyeshadow sticks and glitter toppers too neutral colours that I have when I'm doing my make-up for the office job that I do because they're so quick and easy. Maybe give some of those a try 😘!
Abbey, can you recommend an eyeshadow pallet that has mostly "cool colors"? The warm tones of most pallets do not suit my skin tone at all, and the cool pallets are almost impossible to find. TSM!
I love the timeless vit c. The Australian gold is wonderful but too orange. If they had a lighter colour it would be A+. I like the Paula's choice tinted SPF. It's matte and lighter
Do a test afterwards by using a white washcloth and your cleanser to make sure all of your makeup really was removed. I used Makeup Eraser for a few months only to do this test and see that the Makeup Eraser was not getting it all off.
I can’t stand timeless only because I only get super old product that’s oxidized so much that I cannot and will not use it on my skin, and it also leaks like crazy which means it’s not airtight. . I think if you’re going to use the copper peptide (I do as well but it’s the Niod CAIS) then definitely try to incorporate other antioxidants into your routine somewhere. Once you’re done with the ordinary I highlyyyy recommend you test out the NIOD Copper Amino Isolate serum, not the lipid. It’s AMAZING! I put a pump on mine and feel like it’s the quickest product I’ve ever used that I’ve seen dramatic results with. I’ve also used the buffet+ copper peptide which is good but man once you see the in the ingredients and use it on your skin, you won’t be able to go without! Love it
I had the same experience with Timeless, got 3 lemons in a row so i cant trust them anymore. Also same experience with niod copper peptide. I actually never tried ordinary one because i dont think it can work betterthan niods. Do u think its worth trying the ordinary one and how does it compare with niods?
I tried the Dermatology tinted sunscreen recommended here but looks orange on me. I still love the Australian Gold that I was already using. The AG is soft and matte. Looks smooth, never greasy and the shade is not orange looking on me. Everyone is different. Love it when there is a sample size to try. Hate wasting my money on something I throw away bc it looks bad. Ugh...
I love a lot of your hair recommendations, I discovered and fell in love with the Amika products from your channel, they are so good and smell divine! I found the colorescience sunscreen ok, I liked the original sunforgettable one but binned the FLEX one, as that was a horrible shade, would wipe off on all my collars and also looked like oil paint on my face, I could feel it on my skin as well. I prefer matte and lightweight sunscreens rather than all these sticky and dewy ones
Vanicream is a holy grail for me, since I use prescription retinoids and hydroquinone. I also do deep acid peels (TCA/Jessners) every 4-6 weeks, and my skin gets really sensitive during and for a week after the peeling process. Vanicream cleanser and creams are the ONLY (and I do mean ONLY) products that are gentle and mild and do not sting and burn when my skin is recovering. Side note: I have kids, and when my kids have scratches/scrapes that are raw and sensitive, I use Vanicream cleanser on them to get them gently cleaned before bandaging. It doesn't sting the way pretty much every soap/cleanser does. So between my own skin barrier/recovery needs, and my kids being kids and getting skin injuries: I'll ALWAYS have a bottle of Vanicream cleanser in my bathroom! :) It's not fancy, but it's so useful.
I gasped when you said half of these. PHEW the Ordinary Buffet plus Peptides is still safe, okay. I used Herbivore Vitamin C Nova for years and saw NO improvement and now I don't use vitamin C at all.
I apply the Vanicream cleanser dry at first then add water to remove sunscreen (I don't wear makeup anymore). I do that with all my cleansers now too. I'm moving on past it since I know what works and doesn't now and I don't have irritation like I use too. I really like the texture of Naturium Niacinamide cleanser and Inkey List Fulvic Acid cleanser. I'm replacing Vanicream with those for the time being.
Omg yes! (Sorry to comment again) but that neutrogena hydroboost gel cream, the very first time i used it my face was burning and stinging! Ick. I really love The Ordinary natural moisturizing factors + HA now. It's rich and sinks into the skin and a little goes a long way. Has awesome skin ingredients and can use it around my eyes without stinging them.
Thanks for this fabulous review. I learned so much. It looks like you were using the Neutrogena Hydro boost water gel that was not fragrance free so, if you’re still using tretinoin, it’s possible that the stinging was irritation from the fragrance which can really irritate the skin for Tret users. I use the fragrance free version and have not experienced any stinging.
I thought "do not use in the same routine" means don't use during the same morning/ evening regime? So you can actually use vit c plus peptides, just not at the same time of day? Edit: a short google search informs me that sensitive skin can become easily irritated when they are used at the same time, but that doesn't mean there is less efficacy. Also, the ingredient that makes peptides work less well are apparently AHAs. Edit 2: The Biossance sheer mineral sunscreen is great for normal or dry skin and doesn't leave a white cast.
Due the hype I totally bought function of beauty - once. There was absolutely nothing special about it and it had no benefit over any other shampoo and conditioner used previously, including many very low priced products.
Agree with you on the ponds cream - I wanted to like it but it did feel too heavy and the fragrance is SO strong! An irritant for rosacea/sensitive skin. I prefer almost every other method -- cleansing balm/oil in the winter or micellar water in the summer. I always use that microfiber towel too- it ensures I get it all out!
Love how consistent you are with videos, Abbey!❤️❤️ Please consider reviewing the Mielle rosemary oil for hair growth and/or the Inkey List Caffeine hair serum!🥰
This would be a video years-in-the-making. In order to really assess these products, you would have to measure your baseline hair growth rate and then use the product for long enough to collect data on how that rate changes or doesn't 😒 I have personally tried to do this research on the Ordinary hair growth serum but I wasn't able to control for all the variables that affect hair growth rate so I can't definitively say that the increase in my hair and nail growth can't be attributed to the collagen supplements that I take or even the seasonal change...
Even if you're generally over the warm tones, I think Persona's Color Theory Eye Kit in Copper would look so good on you. It's so flattering on blue eyes! Ulta has it. It's not overly warm.
Hi, Thank you for the updates! I was just wondering if you have talked about octinoxate on any of your sunscreen videos. I keep reading conflicting info and haven't seen you mention it. Thanks so much for your research and info!
Hi Abbey I like the colourscience original spf50 sunscreen shown, but I have extremely dry, rosacea and eczema prone skin. I also use it in a specific way. On me the peachy tint is most certainly not invisible, but I'm a fitzpatrick one and super pale. I use a good base layer of untinted mineral spf50 eg Avene or bioderma, allow to dry down and then use a light layer of this as a tinted base product. Along with concealer where needed, this gives me a more even skin tone and some blurring of imperfections. It's enough coverage (with some concealer) for daytime in Summer weather. A proper amount of this as a stand alone spf is a bit too dark on me, whereas a light layer works well. White cast isn't a huge issue on my skin anyway, as i'm really really pale. I struggle with quite a few chemical spfs, despite being in the UK and having access to all the new filters available globally. I reserve these for days I'll have more than incidental exposure and stick to mineral spf most days. Best wishes. ps the Neutrogena moisturiser has never worked for me and is very drying.
I would love to learn about your ideas on oils in hair care products. I am allergic to Shea butter and it is so prevalent. Your input would help me tremendously. Thank you for you in depth reviews and research.

You’re right about emulsifying the Vanicream cleanser and then applying to a dry face. It really works. And I don’t need more than one pump.

It depends! I feel like it doesn't take off my tinted sunscreen that well! But I do like it for other reasons ! I heard MD Solar made a cleanser specifically to take off sPF I am purchasing it.i also use the micellar water Garnier! I couldn't edit my first comment herein! ! The system did not let me. So I continue here.
Ok Thank you. Be well! God bless!👍🤲👋🎶🎷🎻🎸🎈😊🇱🇷🎵🎹🙏
Curious when you do use eyeshadow(like in this video) what you are using? It looks so fresh & pretty 😍
EYESHADOW CONTENT!?!? 👀 Please oh please 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
So interesting!!
Agree! 💯
Omg yes i used to be an eyeshadow palette fanatic hoarder as well lol! And i basically sold almost 70% of my palettes
Yes!! Great hack
Oh I’m gonna try this because the mousse in Light is always sold out. Thanks 😊
I agree with all except the Vanicream cleanser - that must remain as my back-up cleanser forever :). My everyday love is still isclinical...
Such a great cleanser!
Same. It's the cheapest option that I don't hate👍
Same!
Fair points for sure!
Looool I'm so pale that the Colorescience makes me look a lil bit peachy 🍑 if I use enough 😂😂
I use the Inky List Oat cleanser and it squirts out so weird. Like part oil part cleanser. I know it’s good for my skin so I suck it up. But eww. Lol
since it sounds like you have fallen out of love with some of the tinted sunscreens in your older video, could you do an updated one? 😁
Those are still my favorites! From my Top 5 Tinted sunscreens video
I'm there with you on my face burning from the Hydroboost moisturizer!
Dang so curious what causes it!
I feel as though Function of Beauty is more of a gimmick.
Another great video Abbey.. hope all is wonderful with you hun xx
Thank you!! You too 🥰
I have been using Austrailian Gold for Years, since before Anybody talked about it on YT (even Dr Dray!).
Your hair color is good..you look a little lighter. Nice
Hi everyone 😊💟
Is it true that Copper peptide serums are just working till we use it??
I mean is the results different from retinol or vitamin c for long term changes?
I hope i’ve asked my question correctly.
I miss your eyeshadow tutorials/videos!! Def bring it back 🥰
Would love to see a video debunking customized hair care!! So fascinating! Thanks for another great video 😊
The term obsessed needs to exit the dictionary😆
Yes, 2 products in the graveyard too. Australian tinted sunscreen. Kept trying but color made me unhappy so I ended up dumping it. And the Vanicream cleanser. Just didn't repurchase. It was okay...just not exciting. Thanks!
You really remind me to HotandFlasy‼️
What do you think Fermeted ingredients like galactomyces, bífida and Sacaromyces?
Hi Abbey ❤, I would love to see a video of customised haircare please! I will check-out the Ordinaries Peptide as the Timeless Vitamin C Serum is difficult to get delivered to the UK and now I think its time to try this since you have gotten amazing results from using this. Pixie have a range of one-and-done eyeshadow sticks and glitter toppers too neutral colours that I have when I'm doing my make-up for the office job that I do because they're so quick and easy. Maybe give some of those a try 😘!
Ohhh need to try!
DRUGSTORE HAIRCARE PLEASEEEE
Just posted a drugstore Haircare faves video recently! ❤️
You will pry my Ponds out of my cold, dead hands🤣 it just works better than anything on my skin to remove makeup.
Abbey, can you recommend an eyeshadow pallet that has mostly "cool colors"? The warm tones of most pallets do not suit my skin tone at all, and the cool pallets are almost impossible to find. TSM!
I use car microfiber clothes because I can’t stand the small ones, I need a hand towel size!
I use the bigger car microfiber towels for my hair
This is Gonna B so Good AY🔥🔥🔥👍….
Totally thought you were going to say Amika was going in the graveyard 😂 I bought that specifically Bec of you and I love it!
Noooooo I don’t know if I want to watch this bc I see 2 of my favs in the thumbnail 😭
Hahaha don’t worry! Nothing wrong with any of them 😊
I love the timeless vit c. The Australian gold is wonderful but too orange. If they had a lighter colour it would be A+. I like the Paula's choice tinted SPF. It's matte and lighter
Is the Paula’s Choice more hydrating than Australian Gold? I like matte sunscreens, but AG is too drying for my skin. Thanks!
I just discovered the microfiber towels for removing make up, and it is my new obsession!
Love it
One I omitted the Timeless products, my skin started glowing
I had the same experience with Timeless, got 3 lemons in a row so i cant trust them anymore. Also same experience with niod copper peptide. I actually never tried ordinary one because i dont think it can work betterthan niods. Do u think its worth trying the ordinary one and how does it compare with niods?
Adding to my list thanks for the rec!
I have yet to get a leaking or oxidizing bottle of Timeless C. Been using it for 5-6 years now. (Since dropper bottle days)
I prefer matte and lightweight sunscreens rather than all these sticky and dewy ones
i loveee the vanicream cleanser
I’m still loving the Morphe pallet but I use mainly the neutral colors, browns etc
Vanicream is still the only cleanser I can use on my face!
❤️
When you see products you love and stocked up on crossed out in the thumbnail 😮💨😨😅❤️
Loved this type of video, I think it would be fun to see this with more makeup products as well! 💜
Kathleen Lights Il MAKIAGE Disco Fox Eyeshadow palette… just saying 🤌🏼😻
The vanicream cleanser still dries out my skin, even though it is gentle.
Can you tell what brand and shade of nail polish you have on?! I love it!💕
I gasped when you said half of these.
Thank you for the video! I have a question 🙋♀️ doesn’t micellar water ruin your face self tan?? I’ve been avoiding it because of it. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I’m doing good today. Thanks for asking! It rly makes it feel like you care about us! How are you doing today? Also great video today ❤️
I’m so glad! I’m doing good too ❤️
Can you make a video on how to Tell if shampoo is protein- or moisture- based?
Get your colour season profile done and show us your results if you don’t mind 🥰
I second the oil! I just started my journey with it!
@@sofetchxx same here!!
This would be a video years-in-the-making. In order to really assess these products, you would have to measure your baseline hair growth rate and then use the product for long enough to collect data on how that rate changes or doesn't 😒
I have personally tried to do this research on the Ordinary hair growth serum but I wasn't able to control for all the variables that affect hair growth rate so I can't definitively say that the increase in my hair and nail growth can't be attributed to the collagen supplements that I take or even the seasonal change...
Thanks for watching! Rosemary oil definitely intrigues me…
@@AbbeyYung yay!
I second the love affair with Asian sunscreens! 🥰
I appreciated this video. As always, putting items from your video in my cart. Thank you!
I couldn’t live without the Australian gold sunscreen
Hey Abbey, is there a reason you prefer the Ordinary buffet + copper peptides serum over the Drmtlgy needleless serum?
thanks! have you tried Sun Bum Tinted Sunscreen spf 30?
wish they had a 50 and other shades. it’s buttery and velvety and $18
mineral & non-nano zinc
I would love to learn about your ideas on oils in hair care products. I am allergic to Shea butter and it is so prevalent. Your input would help me tremendously. Thank you for you in depth reviews and research.
I've been on the fence with The Ordinary copper peptides, i must watch your vid on it.
For us overly busty girls the Face Halo is a great size to go in between the girls while wearing sports bras to help soak up excess sweat 🤣🤣
I love that the Australian gold isn’t even sold in Australia . Never seen it ha . Hi from Sydney
Do you use water with the LRP Dermo Cleanser? I bought to use it without water and am not that impressed.
Oh no I thought you could use the Vit C in the morning and Copper peptides in the evening and get the results....
I was like okay this video is accurate and then you brought up ponds cold cream and now I hate it
