I refuse to believe this without proof. The performance difference between the 3060 ti and 6600xt is just way too big for an overclock to get you close to the 3060 tis performance, you would need a 15-20% performance boost to get near its performance and today’s cards just don’t overclock that far. EDIT: To all the people replying to this damn month-old comment telling me 1070 is not a min spec card, I KNOW!
If you open your eyes and read the first sentence again maybe you'll understand, but if it's that hard to comprehend all i said is that when true next-gen games get released a card like 1070 is going to be the next 1060 as i've seen that card be the min requirement for some games.
Well, My 1070 is about to get the minimum spec treatment though 1060 is doing that for now, but i'm very well happy with it because of how insane the prices are all-around, and there's a ton of games i haven't played that my card will definitely handle with no problem, it just goes to show that you don't always need the latest of hardware to have fun.
The 1070 is starting to show up as a minimum recommended gpu. My 1660ti is still holding on for dear life with an overclock but the time is coming for the older mid-range cards.

Yeah noticed that here too. Saw a few 3060tis dropping then they shot back up again
It's been a real pain honestly. I don't have a microcenter really nearby to camp out at. I've been trying to pick up a mod-range gpu for an editing and gaming rig. The 6600XT, 6700XT, 3060ti and 3070 have been appealing to me but I can't find any for a reasonable (and I'm stretching reasonable) price.
@@DigitalJedi I'm feeling more and more grateful about getting my 6700 xt red devil a couple of months ago for $625.00 usd on my local Facebook market. Apparently the young guy that sold it to me (a stand up chap) managed to get a 6900 xt right after getting the 6700 and agreed to my offer of 200 dollars lower than what he was asking. Sometimes if you strike up a little convo and are generally friendly rather than being cut throat and down to business about the item, you'll get a good reaction out of people. Although during these times I understand a little bit of firmness about your interest doesn't hurt, but people are kind of turned off by overly thirsty buyers some times. Target someone that you think is a fellow gamer and chat about your plans for the card and what you're upgrading from. I find that offering someone a lower or more "reasonable" price with a little explanation behind the reasoning goes a long way with people too.
If we're talking about very highly optimized games, I think Doom Eternal takes the cake by a mile. That game on Vulkan is a BEAST! Do you have it?
It's the best and it can do raytracing and DLSS on Linux :)
It's actually one of the few games that does see a MASSIVE performance drop with the 6600XT running PCIe 3.0 based on Hardware Unboxed and other tests. Still more than playable but it's stark when you compare it.
I've played loads of well-optimized games lately. Having trouble finding a game my 6800 XT can't do 1440p 170FPS in. Tales of Arise sometimes dips to like 150FPS, but it's so pretty. I ran RE8 at a locked 170FPS, max settings minus RT, even when they had the Denuvo issues. No framerate dips when those sisters came around.
Feels so weird. Hoping to stick with this card for the next 6 years.

Fortnite has stuttering issues for about a few months now, they messed up something with the rendering and it stutters whenever its loading many things at once, the reason why 1440p stuttered less is because that area was already loaded from the past game.
and if you're cranking up the settings to epic it's like unplayable, i think it's becouse of the drivers
Ah ok thanks for explaining. It’s been stuttering on all my hardware lately.
If you put a lower frame rate cap, the stuttering goes away. It's because of CPU loading on the main thread when running uncapped frame rates e.g. for benchmarking

I bought this card the other day and I am super happy with it. The market has gone to hell, and really the only reason for upgrading is that I got such a good offer on my old card. I agree the high price is kind of necessary (yet awful) to actually keep cards in stock for a while. Here in Sweden you can get hold of them for MSRP. Which can't be said about nvidias offerings. I was surprised of how well the card performed once you stop looking at "ultra" benchmarks on YT. With balanced settings both CP2077, Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition blew me away. I had no idea I would be able to play Metro Exodus at 1440p with "normal RT" hovering around 60fps. :) and CP2077 I settled for a nice mix between low/medium/high in 1440p and locked the game to 50fps (freesync) It runs smooth, no tearing, no stutters, and it looks incredible! I actually didn't think I was going to be able to play those game with such satisfaction.

me with my 1650 [not super] :_)
People will always be using older hardware, so don't think like that. People still use 1060,1050,1030,900 series and much older and many even without a dedicated GPU.
@@miscellaneousgaming8533 true, it's not the end of the world if you don't the latest hardware
@@miscellaneousgaming8533 1060 3GB here. Wish I bought the 6GB version or an RX580 lmao
Also here with my 1650 non-super. Very satisfied with this, although I don't really play the latest games. I used it mostly for transcoding and upscaling.
If you bought ANYTHING pre covid it was a good investment
I bought a laptop right before the GPU shortage hit. Their prices increased a lot after the shortage in my country. I bought mine for 10k (about $1200) and now anything with matching performance to that is sold for 14k+
Should I get this as an upgrade from the rx 560? I don't want 4k or something I just want 1080p nice fps
Videos like these make me happy I got my 5700xt from Best Buy for 349.99 when it released
Good stuff Maynard
worthy upgrade over a rx570 8gb ?? or stick with the card I bought for £90 just over a year ago
That lol on the title is what hooked me, is that what folk call "clickbait"?
Got one the other week, pretty happy with it so far
I had the same thing with stutters in fortnite with a 1070/1080ti/3080 & 6700k/5600x I assumed it was just the game engine it isnt, what fixed it for me was unticking the HD texture pack option in epic games launcher the 3 little dots next to the install option for some reason it's added by default & makes the game look NO different just adds an extra 20gb in size & a stutter feature no matter your hardware :\
Can't decide if i should grab one of these once they drop a little more, or hold out for 6700 non-xt that i was hoping to get originally. Hell, might even fuck around and buy the 256eu Intel Alchemist if they price it right.
Is this going to be your new daily driver gpu for the time being?
Do You recommend buying the Msi rx 6600 xt mech x2 oc?
Sweet looking cooler that!
Hey I got a Video suggestion Is the GTX Titan x from 2015 still worth it?
So why are the prices so high for graphics cards ATM?? samsung and apple seem to have no shortage of components/chips.......
I bought my EVGA GTX 1080ti sc back in March 2021 for 550$ cad , still running amazing and I couldn’t be happier for such a low price
I was planning on getting an 8gb RX 580, but I'm considering one of these now, since all the games I'm interested in would perform well at high or ultra settings, especially Cyberpunk.
Cyberbug
Launch day 1080 Ti user here , haven't had to upgrade just yet. Watching this whole GPU market drama with a bowl of popcorn haha
Very lucky! I should’ve kept mine...
1080ti user here, didn't get mine on launch but I did pick it up about 500usd I think right around the 20 series launch. And you're right, she's still chuggin' along. Although she's a little bit sad nowadays since she's paired with my 9900k, I think she misses the 8600k.
I have 1660s and I'm looking for a smoother expierience with my 3440x1440 monitor. Not sure if this card worth it.
