- Thanks to the new accessory from the Rising Tide DLC, activating Zan levels 2 to 5 midair is now possible. This opens up a world of strategic combo possibilities for players looking to take their gameplay to the next level.
Doing combos at level 75 and beyond offers an intriguing challenge, where your formidable strength can make battles a breeze. For an added thrill, seek out mobs with healers and experiment with lower-tier weapons to shake things up. Don't forget to show your support by liking and subscribing for more gaming content.

By that logic, turn base is also mashing button. These people ...
so are shooters. I mean look at games like Call of Duty, all you gotta do is point and click with a little bit of movement
They think they're being so smart playing turn based games, when in actuality they actually just spam their highest damage attack💀
I dont think its about mashing buttons, there is a lot of mashing button in ff7 remake/rebirth but the combat feels more captivating with the RPG elements and strategies you have to make in some battles, i liked ff 16 but for me its combat didnt hold up to the rest of campaign, also didnt liked the Eikon boss fights except for the amazing visuals.
exactly, turn based combat fastforward auto-battle "attack" select getting through low LV encounters, so riveting
i love both kinds, but it annoys me turn based purist act like once its action combat it has no thought smh
@@ShikiRyougi05there’s some truth to this lmao
"its just button mashing" but they ask for nerfs as soon as leviathan has a dps check
This shit isnt as deep as DMC V but goddamn is it deep and varied compared to other action rpgs, Suzuki fuckin cooked
For real. Wish SE made the game way harder so the players would start using the cancels and combos instead of just mashing and using ultimates
@@gabrielnovais871 Final Fantasy Mode is fine but still easy compared to other action games hard mode, Ultimaniac is VERY HARD, and getting an S rank is painful. Id say trying to get S rank on FF mode is pretty challenging, but the DLC fuckin delivered on difficulty
@@Crabo99I got S rank in all stages playing on FF mode, but my God, this is almost impossible to get playing on Ultimaniac lol. I don't like how the score system works, but in terms of difficulty, Ultimaniac is insane and it delivers. I hope someday the devs allow us to play the story from the beginning on this mode
It's not even a quarter as deep as Rebirth. There's no party management, no elemental resistances, no status effects, no weapon abilities. Thinking otherwise is just a cope.
@@chrislee5268 for the love of the founder nobody compared this game to rebirth. We don't care that it's not as deep as rebirth. It's still deep and that's what matters
The action in this game is really good, not as complex as DMC 5's precise button inputs but in terms of actually thinking what to do and when to do them in a combo
do the enemies even fight back lmao
What’s funny is that he could’ve just ended it with a lv 5 Zantetsuken and called it a day but he just had to flex. 😂
Pretty dope what you can do with this combat system though. This is what makes Final fantasy, Final fantasy. Each one’s different but has their own charm. Be it characters, story, (or more recently) game design. I love their willingness to change things up.
This game is one of most underrated games ever imo. Too many people made it their mission to shit on this game at every turn, but I think it’s really fun and beautiful. Thanks for videos like these!
nahhh just not enough people with a ps5 the moment i played this game i was sucked in i just got a ps5 though
no it isn’t
like with every final fantasy people will change their minds and say its peak 5 years later
It’s incredibly underbaked, especially for something as major as a mainline release. The game obviously has the skeleton built for all of these rpg systems and elements, but it didn’t go anywhere with them at all. There’s also other issues like the story pacing (the whole game after the time skip) and side quest quality (only a couple good ones, out of 50). The combat is really great, but that is its only truly great aspect. The game almost gives me the vibes that it should be a spin-off game, with a departure from every other game, both in design and quality.
how is it underrated? can you give some valid points??? the game has done so many things wrong. barebones rpg, barebones exploration, bosses are just dmg sponges, this is what people complained about, it didnt feel like FF game at all and lacked in alot of things
I remember back in the good old days of FF where I'd be walking around and get ambushed and deal with it by mashing X for attack.
Sounds like 15, man I really disliked that warp shit
@@1shogunate696 you never learned how to play
@@eclisis5080 well, I beat the game without learning to play then. I must be real good or somethin
@@1shogunate696 game isn't hard to beat because you can spam items, if they had a cool down like remake, you wouldn't be able to beat it, plus what makes the game combat enjoyable is being able to feel like an unstoppable god once you've mastered the combat

The trick is to know WHEN to mash the buttons… among other things like spatial positioning.
This aint no button mashing, its callled having skill and finesse
I fucking love ff16s combat.
Anytime I hear people say its just button mashing and all fights are the same, I LAUGH AT THEM. They never played this game.
Anyway this is a sick combo! And I'm loving the Rising Tide DLC
FFXVI SUCKS AND NOTHING CAN CHANGE MY MIND

I adore this game. Probably my favourite game of the last decade.

You can hear it from me. I have platinum. You don't need this stuff to win. It's called bad game design, when you have craaaazy combos and no situation where you forced to use it
You good? I gotta wonder if *you’ve* seen combo videos from games with actual depth. I swear the 14 fanboys coped so hard for this game.
i have no interest to play tr@sh video game title such as ff 16.
Last but not least here’s a thing, i got my ff 16 physical disc copy (PS5 version) on october 19 2023. Back then i was so excited to play it, spent like almost 3 hours straight into the game i felt disappointed by flashy dull combos, recycled assets from the previous ff title, boring side quest etc. in that moment *i wish i could ask for a refund to Square En*x* but unfortunately it wasn’t possible to do so. Fueled by disappointment i’ve decided to gave it away to my 14 years old nephew as a christmas gift. I was like “here nephew i have something for you, it’s a garbage ps5 video game title by the way you can keep it if you want or just throw it away into the trash bin if you don’t like it” i said that with no regrets 🙌🏽
@@The_Inkhouse That's all of action games bruv
All that for some basic enemies is crazy.
Bro's out here performing air combos, like this is the DMC JRPG, I've been dreaming about. 🎮
Wish I could combo like this lol. Game really deserved more love. I’ll admit that the side quests needed work, but the main story and combat are phenomenal. I just recently started my Final Fantasy mode run and am having a blast.
I like and comment every combo video that is not Gigaflare, ult spam and zantetsuken.
Good job
This is next on my buy list. Coming from TN games this combat makes me excited. I know it’s more akin to DMC given the combat director but still. That’s another series I need to replay and get to 5 again
Suprised and happy that there's still people playing this game and perfecting it
I mean, its not like you needed to do 75% of this crazy shit to win 😂
To be fair, most of this shit is square, but also weaker and slower than spamming skills, people compare this with a dmc but in dmc almost all of the skills deal good damage while ff16 have shitty scaling
That's the whole crux of the argument. "Winning" isn't the point of character action games. Improving and pulling off shit like this is rewarding in itself. If the game actually required you to do this sort of stuff to win, most people would just quit because it would be far too overwhelming.
@@arielgomes7989 bro this isn’t a character action game. It’s definitely reverted back to button masher.
@@maninblack3410 Brother, this game has the same combat director as DMC5... this is absolutely designed as character action gameplay.
I'm sorry for sounding rude, but 99% of people who refer to games like this as "button mashers", just play it poorly, don't explore anything and then pass jugment based on their very shallow understanding.
The whole reason you can beat the game playing the way you do is so the devs don't alienate people like you. Specially since FF has a JRPG fanbase that might not be used to action games. If you want to mash buttons and win, you can, while the depth is reserved to those who want to explore it.
Not gonna extend myself too much, BeeG has fantastic videos on the topic if you care to actually understand my perspective.
@@arielgomes7989 idk if you misspoke or are misinformed. Ryota Suzuki (the combat director for 16) *worked* on dmc 5. He wasn’t the combat director for dmc 5. It’s totally possible that’s not what you meant, if so that’s my bad, but I’ve seen a ton of people say the same thing so it’s possible you got that info from them.
Thanks for pointing me to beeg, I love his dmc videos they’re great. Idk how I haven’t seen his videos on ff16… I mean I do, cuz I don’t watch 16 stuff unless something like this pops up in my feed and it’s under a minute lol… but either way, I looked up his review and 18 seconds in he says he doesn’t like it.
I’m sure he goes on to say that the combat is more in depth than people give it credit for, and that’s probably true, but the game is boring af. The story is trash. Even his combo videos look boring, there’s one that puts clips of dmc 5 beside a clip of ff16 and it’s *absolutely* no comparison.
If you can play it like a button masher on the hardest default difficulty, it’s a button masher.
This game was so so good when it comes out for Pc I’ll buy it for that as well and looking forward to the mods
50 seconds to kill a mob, this games never stops surprising me...no wonder square registered 130m loss
Its a dmc game not everything needs to be one shot youre allowed to have fun
I'm assuming he was doing it with a basic sword to prolong the fight, otherwise I don't see how level 100+ Clive spends so much time on a couple of level 44 mobs.
The real issue is lack of enemy variety that changes how you approach mob fights. Boss fights are fine but this is what happens when a game's difficulty was made with someone who is not trying to learn the game's mechanics in mind
MY BOY GOT HIS MOTIVATION FROM VERGIL
yeah, for the noobs / old heads / slow hands and brain:"it's Just button smashing"

Never seen anyone go this high 😭🤝
Button making with particle effects
When I see yall go so high in the air I start wondering if we playing the same game 😂
I would have followed some of the GOW mechanics. Like giving your character multiple weapons, like spears with Bahamut or gloves for Titan. Bigger moveset and more work for Blackthorne. Both DMC and GOW characters uses at least 2 or 3 weapons.
Also to make Torgal combat role similar to Atreus, who had his own skill tree, special attacks and equipment.
I don't think it would've been bad for Clive to stick with one weapon if they had either given him like an additional 2 to 3 combos or borrow from FF7 and give each weapon 1 unique move.
Man imagine every weapon you find that has its own moveset and the moveset goes even further with every primordial it’s enhanced honestly I really feel this game has lot of underdeveloped mechanics and points and I’m someone who love the game I’m in new game + almost done with the trophy just need to do omega leviathan and finish the main quest in final fantasy mode btw leviathan is gonna destroy me since I’m in final fantasy mode 😂😂😂😅😅
@@Bloodhurl67 I think of DMC and GOW as acton games with multiple weapons choices. There are other sticking with only one weapon, like Ghost of Tsushima, which has just the katana but like 4 stances to be used based on the opponents style.
@@Pavilius_ It seems most of the effort went into the story telling, the characters, the cinematics, etc. And the gameplay was done with the leftovers of budget. imo
@rkbelmont1138 Even in DMC Nero sticks with one weapon with more than just 2 move sets.
That quite a lot of effort to kill small grunt
FF16 is way easier than ff7 rebirth.
FF16 is better because it has better controls and isn't a weird nonsense hybrid of turn based and real time. The combat in FF7 remake is bad. Bad mechanics=difficulty. No.
@cartoonvideos5 FF7 rebirth isn't difficult for it's mix between turn based and real time. It's easy to get a handle on that. The Chadley simulator is the main difficulty behind ff7 rebirth because you are essentially going against the toughest enemies with just Cloud. FF16 was just way too easy because it automatically dodges and parries. The story in 16 was terrible too. Everyone died and everyone cried.
@@kevinburke1325 it auto dodges and parries...sounds like someone played the game with the easy mode accessories on...
@@kevinburke1325bro played the game in “ game journalist mode” and complains it’s too easy 😂😂😂 and says the story is terrible and everyone dies lmao. Let me guess your first FF 7 remake. And I bet you didn’t even bother to play the side quests
@MyStickman10 that is false. And sorry, but I take all items into account. Their fault for adding it. They add it, I am going to use it, plain and simple. Just like if there's any way to cheese bosses and enemies, it lowers the difficult rating. I did do all the sidequests. Their so called superboss was super easy. Also, I played every final fantasy and kingdom hearts game. Keep making assumptions. You are making a fool out of yourself.
man wish they let us use the movesets of clive's infernal shadow. That was so lit.
Im not even worried about whether or not its button mashing ive never gotten the game cus every fight ive seen the enemies are ABSOLUTE DAMAGE SPONGES. Why does every fight in the game involve hitting something 100+ times?? 😂 fuck that shit man. Also if this isnt the case then people need to upload some clips from other fights cus that is all ive ever seen. But i think thats why some people like it. Long drawn out anime ass battles. I get it if thats what some people want
Lit I didn't know DmC6 was out :)
Freaking love this game ❤
This is a misunderstanding. We aren't saying the game can't be played with a brain... We are saying it isn't a requirement. Any fight shown where someone does something badass can also be won by mashing attack button over and over. Which is what a majority of players do during their first playthrough.
Best combat in a FF game, snatching the DMC V combat director fucking peak!
The point is that there’s no reason to go to all this extra effort to do extravagant combos on trash mobs, yes you CAN do something like this but for every single mob encounter throughout the game? That’s not realistic. The fact that you have to go out of your way to not default to button mashing just shows how mashy it really is overall.
Sick combo tho
Sick word vomit bro, you dont even have a point lmfao

Okay I’ve been playing this game recently, my first Final Fantasy, and I love how flashy and fun the combat of it is, however it is goofy to go so hard on some weak plants you first fight early on in the game haha. The scaling is weird idk if this is a new game plus or what
After watching the video, its just button mashing.
Do continue to enjoy your button mashing in whatever game you're playing. We'll enjoy our button mashing in the games we enjoy in the meantime

@@Erebus54 what sword did you equip with
@@anthonytan8751 Since he said he used his weakest weapon I'm gonna guess that it's the one you start the game with, if you mean the one he uses visually than it's Curtana.
Its becomes a button smash when your abilities are in cooldown, you only gain all this abilities by the end because in the beginning you face a bunch of bosses and enemies with just 1 ability. After gaining a bunch of abilities, the MC is just too OP even in FF difficulty ( this is due to how easy it is to dodge attacks, not even DMC had this easy dodge mechanism), there is no strategy for th3 combat and it doesn't have a complex battle system to make it engaging. It looks pretty for the same reason as 15, to sell. I love this game, I loved the direction, story and characters, it was one of the best acting in gaming and it was an epic adventure to watch. However am not delusion, it has flaws, one of them being its Movie more then a game. So many material for nothing, so many equiments just for 7% more dmg or 6sec cooldown lower. Its a good movie, not a good game.
Even as I play Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin this combat still looks so fucking cool!!! Gotta get Rising Tide eventually I beat the first DLC and wasn't super impressed.....
"IT'S JUST MASHING"
This looks alot like DMC until one reads the title
Problem with FF XVI combat is that you can do this incredible combo to showoff or you can just use Zantetsuken to kill all this trash mobs in 15s.
That actually looked really sick, I really wanted to play this game, shame it is not on pc yet, but I wanted to give it a chance, I really don't know what happened and why so many people did not like it, I personally hated Final Fantasy XV and its combat, but this one and final fantasy VII remake look really fun to play.
Fortunately, a PC version is in the works
People who say this are likely the same people who mash B/O in Souls games
I expected similar combat style in Stellar Blade and was sadly disappointed
Nah bro, this game had a 100 potential but a 30 release. I never played other FF games, but coming from other RPGs this one was a letdown so big I couldn't even give it a second chance with the dlc.
I highly doubt it you can do any of this by just bottom smashing also nice gameplay 👍

It's button confirm mashing
All that for a drop of blood
Not wrong it is somewhat button mashing, but you can't just stay in one spot while button mashing, you gotta dodge a lot, the only true time to button mash is when your foe is staggered
I really wish I could love this game. The movie was cool though, just wish the video game my movie came with was more cooked.
I have my platinum and yes it is just mashing. You don't need all this "super cool stuff" to beat the game.

Funny how you do these insane looking godly combos with fire and angel wings, thanos gauntlet type shit… and their health is barely going down. Lol rpgs in a nutshell.
I can watch people play this game for hours
If they really think Action Combat is smash or spam button then these people think turnbased also just "auto" and it's done
Both playstyle has it own good thing and which one you like is the important thing.
Of course people has their own opinions but it must has a reason and correct answer.
plausible argument: why does it take 273636262 slashes to kill something but in a cutscene 1 hit. AH!?
Those are some tanky plants
FFXVI gameplay is excellent. It's one of the best action combats around especially on FF mode.
No one's saying it's button mashing. It's just the usually mentally insane Final Fantasy fans who think it should be turn based when it hasn't been in decades or the terminally online on Reddit Twitter and all these toxic forums. Just give it a few years after 17 comes out "You know what, 16 was actually a masterpiece. But 17 this is garbage, worst game I've ever played" Same nonsense every time. The worst fanbase in gaming, somehow has surpassed the Zelda fanbase.
3 great FFs at the same time... something that hasn't happened since PS2 with XIV/VIIR/XVI. Yet people like this are still miserable. Just play the game and ignore the fans and you'll be happier.
Nailed it. FF fanbase is fucking crazy. Now we get fuckers saying XIII and XV was a masterpiece. Jesus
W comment. Honestly never seen a more pathetic group of people. There's a quote I found and it's so true. Final Fantasy fans are like the Star Wars fans of gaming. Just as nobody hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans, nobody hates Final Fantasy more than Final Fantasy fans
@rhyge8079 but 13 is good. 15 is pretty bad though. Not even a finished game at that. But yeah 16 is the best FF we gotten, without counting the mmos, in a very long time.
FFXVi is never challenging, you can with most fights by just spamming square.
Don't forget to mention the part where you have watch hours of boring cutscenes to actually do anything. But I found this game better than Rebirth based on the demo.
I wish I had these skills xD
You can only do this on New game+, so it's basically irrelavant to most people.
It is though
Devil may cry is butt mashing. I swear this is what I feel like like I’m watching every time I see. FF16. I haven’t even played the darn game yet.
sure it looks impressive but your damage is absolutly nothing compared to how you can just charge Zantetsuken in a few seconds and 1 shot them anyway even on final fantasy mode for most trashm its flashy but dont ever think that the damage your doing here contra what your doing and the work your putting in is worth it XD impressive though,
All I see is buttons being mashed
You have to understand that the people who say this also have arthritis and can't play most video games without a constant struggle.
i just wanna point out, this is showing its combat in the field, not the training room, thank you.
