Yeah, I would like to refight this guy again in case there’s some new moves he has which I didn’t get to see since I killed him too fast. But I do not want to go through the trouble of S ranking every single wave again just to fight him again.
When you press shiva dodge twice you drop a ice shard that freezes enemies for about half a second. But that’s enough time to use rift slip which slows down time and then you can land free hits. If you perfect time a dodge with shiva then it freezes everything in an aoe for about 8-10 seconds.
Considering every single boss fight of Kairos Gate is pretty much a semi-primed Dominant, I find it fitting that the Shadow is the final boss, thematically too. Clive defeats himself yet again to prove to Ultima that he is his own person. Only, getting to S rank EVERY SINGLE CIRCLE is a bit too much. Just make this the default final boss if you clear the gate in Final Fantasy mode.
I didn’t fail to this guy so I’m not sure but I assume that you would have to redo the entire kairos gate again and S rank all the waves once again just going off of the premise of the gamemode and how it always resets you back to wave 1 if any fails happen. Which would be very sad indeed, good thing is that when you get to this guy you have accumulated so many buffs from the previous 20 waves and so I think it’s very difficult to die to this guy unless you get hit by his big one shot kill hellfire or something.
@@safijivvaboi5081 that's most unfortunate. I'd rather just have an elemental, buffless attempt at him whenever I want. Seems like a cool boss just hate that it's hidden behind a cruel gauntlet of challenges

Yes it’s better than the ultima sword. 750 attack and stagger attack. You actually need ultima sword to even build this sword. You get the recipe to build this sword by completing the Kairos gauntlet once normally on final fantasy difficulty. It is worth noting that there is also the “tonberry knife+1” sword you can get from fighting the tonberry king boss in final fantasy difficulty and his sword has the most stagger attack in the game at 1000. Albeit, the raw attack is only like 500 or something I believe.
@@elijaharroyo4846 you just have to beat it normally as long as it’s final fantasy difficulty. My first run of this was a slog and I got C ranks on almost every circle except like 2 of them where I got an A rank. The S ranks is only if you want to fight this secret boss. Also there isn’t 10 circles, there’s 20 circles.
The new leviathan and ultima eikons are extremely powerful and have a bunch of really powerful abilities. There’s also a new best sword in the game as well as new best armor.
Amazing skills from you, but yeah a bit of a shame on the boss fight. I don’t think it’s lazy, but the cutscene dialogue preceding and following the fight definitely is.
I was planning on skipping the combat gameplay just to watch the cutscenes. But then I ended up staying because I love Find the flame. And then I was kinda mesmerized by how much ass you kick lol, wtf are those crazy combos?! At least now I'm sure I aint getting to that secret boss
You get this sword by completing kairos gate once normally on final fantasy difficulty. You use the ultima sword and a few other materials to upgrade it into this sword which is the new best sword in the game with 750 attack and stagger attack.
That said, sick as this fight is I’m amazed that’s what they decided would be worth all that hard labor. I get not putting extreme dev time into something so difficult 0.0001% if the player base will ever see… but given this is the same team that devs an MMO and knows the insanity of FF players who will no-life content for the bragging rights, I’m just a teensy tiny bit underwhelmed.
I think the boss is fine but the requirements you need to do to even unlock this fight is very difficult for what it is. You have to S rank all 20 stages of the kairos gate which is very tedious to do since you have to reset the entire run if you get just a single A rank on one of the waves. If it was a bit easier to unlock this fight I would not mind at all.
with how Yoshida teased this I expected a crossover secret boss like FFXIV / Gilgamesh or even Diabolos cuz he wants it so bad in FF16, disappointed to see chrome pack inner Clive fight for secret boss, at least I won't bother with this now
No sadly. You do get like a medal but it’s not an actual achievement so you don’t need to do this fight if you want to get all the trophies for this game. This fight is only done for bragging rights since you have to S rank all 20 waves of the kairos gauntlet to unlock it.
I loved this game idc what anyone says. I do wish that Clive lived in like a clear happy-ever-after type of foolishness because I was sad when Torgal howled at the end but other than that it's a 10/10 for me.
Prevents damage from being taken and does small amounts of damage to enemies near me. It’s useful so that you can basically do your combos without worry of being hit.
It does good consistent stagger damage for how short it’s cooldown is and how much you can spam it but it’s best use is that it groups up enemies so you can easily do collateral abilities such as scarlet cyclone.. and when you are going for S ranks in these fights it is a MUST HAVE because its the most effective way to rack up score.
Unfortunately, no. This fight is basically only for bragging rights I guess because you have to S rank all 20 waves of the kairos gauntlet to even unlock this fight. I do not think this fight was worth that grind, I think the fight is a fine boss but there should be a reward to compensate for having to S rank all the waves.
@@safijivvaboi5081 comletely agree. To not give a special reward, hell even a sword, is madness. And im not even gonna attempt to s rank it. Completing it on ff mode was all i wanted. Grats tho
Instead of replying to people imma just leave this comment as a general statement. Anyone saying its the same fight again is certifiably high. Similar i'd give you but same is just plain ignorance.
You have to do combos and there’s a combo scale based on color. White color doesn’t give much points, blue gives a small amount of points, cyan gives a decent amount of points, green gives a bunch of points, and rainbow gives the most points. Obviously you want to use abilities that give green or rainbow combo and the best abilities for that include thunderstorm, any collateral abilities such as scarlet cyclone or upheaval and ice age, and then abilities to group up enemies allows for those collateral abilities to do even more work. You also don’t wanna use abilities like windup because those just do a bunch of damage and kill your targets. You don’t want to instantly vaporize the enemies because the longer the enemy is alive, the more combos you can do on them and build up more points.. but at the same time you don’t want to do too little damage because you gotta complete every wave within a 3 or so minute timeframe to get the level 3 time boost for the extra points.
Dark Clive hum ? Would be way better to have gilgamesh instead. Even a near end journey gilgamesh to make him more serious/mature with all the previous main ff1/ff15 hero weapons. Or at least, to keep up with the teasing and fan service, some ff9 exclusive eikons like hades, ozma, or ARK would have been better
tbf ppl mald over this but it's more or less what Bloody palace does so......eeeh? I don't get much of the complaints, it's definitively easier since you get buffs to use also. to think that gilgamesh has been in every main series FF title in some capacity only to see him not appear in FF16..................... rather disappointing ngl
Wow I thought you just had to have a S rank by the end of a run not for all the damn circles. Well there goes my interest in fighting this boss. The scoring is so terrible imo. I feel like I did very good throughout my run and I was barely getting a rank B. Why is it so hyper focused on stalling it out with abilities instead of you know, playing good and beating the waves fast? I get not wanting people to just spam ult abilities but no reward for beating waves fast and efficiently makes no sense to me.
You get a time bonus multiplier of 1.5x for completing the waves fast and you also get extra enhancement currency. The easiest way to get score is to do long combos on enemies while also using abilities like scarlet cyclone for collateral perks. You also basically have to buy the score up boons to get the S rank consistently.
@@safijivvaboi5081I guess I just have to get used to playing a super specific way. Regardless the requirements are so extreme for a boss that is seemingly a push over and the fact that you can’t freely replay it.. This game desperately needs a boss rush imo.
I love FF16 so much but Kairos Gate ain’t it. I was never a fan of the arcade ultamaniac point amassing builds that you were forced to use in order to get decent scores. Now we have this. I am super picky about collecting everything in this game but this Kairos Gate ain’t it. It’s exactly as this creator said, tedious. I love the idea of a dungeon that goes back to back to back fights (giving costlemark tower vibes in FF15 if you know you know) but the SCORING SYSTEM! Just let me play the builds I want to play. Not to mention this kinda defeats the purpose of this new build loadouts. I don’t know. Anyone agree? Or do I just give in to the point amassing nonsense.
Yeah the new abilities aren’t that good if you want to get S ranks in these waves. Which is lame because the leviathan and ultima abilities actually look fun to use but if you want to effectively do S ranks you can’t really use them.
It's a valid complaint but at least they didn't lock any rewards behind the S rankings so I think it's a considerate game design in that sense. You still get to complete Kairos Gate the way you want and craft all the new stuff.
You know, ultima saying “are you not mythos?” Is actually super interesting. It’s as if at this moment he realizes Clive isn’t the one he’s looking for and is not a strong enough vessel. Sure he can hold all the eikons, but he’s not able to cast the spell that ultima needs. So basically ultima just gave a man all these powers to go and fight him, and whether he wins or loses, it will regardless lead to ultimas defeat
Clive literally has all the eikons power along with ultima's at the end of the game, he also does use the world changing spell just not how ultima wanted he instead used it to get rid of magic forever
@@oberon_relic1161 ohhh okay yeah so ultima plan was to defeat Clive and use his vessel to cast the spell. Unbeknownst to ultima, he would have died casting the spell since the vessel wasn’t strong enough

I believe im the only weirdo who enjoys more FFXVI than FF7 in general (rebirth included). I’ve tried many times to force myself to keep playing FF7 but yet it’s all mini-games and anything else. I can’t say FF7 is not the masterpiece that’s considered but I really cant see the big deal about it tbh. In the other hand, FFXVI is really enjoyable for me. The fight is way less restrictive than FF7 (idk about rebirth yet) and the story is more interesting. Clive is way superior than Cloud and rest of the cast of FF16 is more interesting than the cast of FFVII too. Is the game a masterpiece? Could have been but it truly lacks a lot of stuff that’s necessary to become one but it’s really close to it. And stop asking for a turn base FF, it’s been years since the last once and they like it like that. I myself really enjoy turn based FF as 2 of my 3 fav FF are like that (FFVI and Tactics A2) but it’s not necessary anymore. Having an open world either. FFXVI is a game that focuses a lot more in the narrative than anything else and it does a great job doing it!
Learning there is such an incredible boss fight locked behind such ridiculous conditions that probably not even 1% of the playerbase is ever gonna get to try is dumbfounding. I doubt even the majority of players who beat FF mode and get the Platinum are gonna be putting themselves through this, the Kairos gate is already difficulty enough and adding the ridiculous scoring system on top sucks ALL the fun out of this. I have to presume that while we're 100% not getting any more content for 16 that we get at least one or two more patches that aim to increase stability, FPS, fix any bugs and glitches which surely a bunch of new boss fights and two new Eikon power sets will have unleashed and while they're at it buff a few more abilities and remove this ridiculous condition, just clearing all 20 stages should be enough.
Did you expect them to turn it into a different game just inside the dlc? Or change a shit ton in the final update? I don't know of many SINGLE PLAYER games that overhauled anything their combat, what did you actually expect tho like, element damage? Yeah it would be cool but half the time you don't know what everything is gonna be weak to, you'd be constantly changing stuff around and then just killing stuff EVEN quicker, at the end of the day tho what combat system like this doesn't boil down to "hurt them and don't get hurt back"??

There’s a boon you can buy that is just called “berserker ring” that activates it. You don’t have to upgrade anything to get it.
Still upset we didn’t get Shadow Clive’s move set. That Shifting Fira is so cool.
Amazing gameplay you are a joy to watch pretty good at the game
The music score was anabsolutely fantastic.
Can I ask what you're doing with the Shiva move by dodging into the boss?
Just make this the default final boss if you clear the gate in Final Fantasy mode.
danm so many comments and views nicely done
If you lose to the fight, do you have to s rank Kairos Gate again to rechallenge? Or can you just challenge him again?
I enjoyed this boss originally so I don’t mind it as much. But the requirements to get to it are way too high and it’s really not worth the effort unless you just really want to do it.
Agreed, the requirements should have been a bit easier or there should at least have been some type of reward.
Sickkk!!! A master indeed. Ggwp
Little disappointed we didn't get an Ifrit vs Shadow Ifrit rematch but what can you do?
Damn super unique build love it
Whats that sword?
What's that new sword and is it stronger than the Ultima Weapon?
Yep and it's 750
Yes it’s better than the ultima sword. 750 attack and stagger attack. You actually need ultima sword to even build this sword. You get the recipe to build this sword by completing the Kairos gauntlet once normally on final fantasy difficulty. It is worth noting that there is also the “tonberry knife+1” sword you can get from fighting the tonberry king boss in final fantasy difficulty and his sword has the most stagger attack in the game at 1000. Albeit, the raw attack is only like 500 or something I believe.
@@safijivvaboi5081 exactly as you said
@@safijivvaboi5081do you just have to beat all of the circles normally, or do you have to get all S on all 10 circles to get the recipes?
@@elijaharroyo4846 you just have to beat it normally as long as it’s final fantasy difficulty. My first run of this was a slog and I got C ranks on almost every circle except like 2 of them where I got an A rank. The S ranks is only if you want to fight this secret boss. Also there isn’t 10 circles, there’s 20 circles.
Any new good/gamechanging gear in this dlc?
The new leviathan and ultima eikons are extremely powerful and have a bunch of really powerful abilities. There’s also a new best sword in the game as well as new best armor.

Amazing skills from you, but yeah a bit of a shame on the boss fight. I don’t think it’s lazy, but the cutscene dialogue preceding and following the fight definitely is.
Holly F*uck!!! That was amazing!!! Ahh i wish i was that skilled, i get all frantic and lose hahahahaha, waw that was great, congratz :)

I was planning on skipping the combat gameplay just to watch the cutscenes. But then I ended up staying because I love Find the flame. And then I was kinda mesmerized by how much ass you kick lol, wtf are those crazy combos?! At least now I'm sure I aint getting to that secret boss
Nice sword! What sword is that?
You get this sword by completing kairos gate once normally on final fantasy difficulty. You use the ultima sword and a few other materials to upgrade it into this sword which is the new best sword in the game with 750 attack and stagger attack.
Wait i unlocked original sin weapon and this boss never appeared for me???
This boss only appears when you S rank all 20 stages of kairos gate. You don’t need to get original sin.
DMC wasn’t silly enough to lock things behind the scoring system. They should’ve just did ultimaniac kairo for this.
"HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON, OLD ME?"
"I love embodying the weakness of the young people! :D"
another boss when completing every stage on S? wtf I didnt knew that🤯🤯🤯
How did you get to use Original Sin in Kairos? I'm stuck using the default Invictus model
It’s the appearance transform that you can do to weapons.
Honestly I’m just glad someone out there is capable of getting S Ranks in this mode. I’ve accepted it’s a pipe dream I’ll ever see one IRL.
Is it true that you cant change accesories in kairos?
You aren’t allowed to bring any accessories at all in the kairos gauntlet. You also can’t even bring in your own sword or armor.
why people even complaining about this, this is a secret fight to an extra piece of content that isn’t even the main focus of the dlc.
mostly because there was announced a secret boss and they sold it as something special like "you wont know who he is"
I think the boss is fine but the requirements you need to do to even unlock this fight is very difficult for what it is. You have to S rank all 20 stages of the kairos gate which is very tedious to do since you have to reset the entire run if you get just a single A rank on one of the waves. If it was a bit easier to unlock this fight I would not mind at all.
because it's extreamly tedious for not only 0 reward, but a also for a boss you already fought in the main story.
everyone expected Gilgamesh
Because you can't please ff fans
with how Yoshida teased this I expected a crossover secret boss like FFXIV / Gilgamesh or even Diabolos cuz he wants it so bad in FF16, disappointed to see chrome pack inner Clive fight for secret boss, at least I won't bother with this now

Yes
@@safijivvaboi5081 damn it😂 thanks for telling me, so I don't have to try it myself. Nice work bro!

Alguien la subio en español latino?
Did it give a reward ?? Like a sword or something
What’s the floating ball do?
Prevents damage from being taken and does small amounts of damage to enemies near me. It’s useful so that you can basically do your combos without worry of being hit.
Is mesmerize actually good ? Not effective for me
It does good consistent stagger damage for how short it’s cooldown is and how much you can spam it but it’s best use is that it groups up enemies so you can easily do collateral abilities such as scarlet cyclone.. and when you are going for S ranks in these fights it is a MUST HAVE because its the most effective way to rack up score.
@@safijivvaboi5081 ah that makes sense. Did you play around with dominion from ultima? Feels better but I’ll try it out
@@salmark9080 I felt like dominion missed with the 2nd hit too much and it didn’t feel that strong for the cast time needed.
There is any reward?
nope just rhema
Unfortunately, no. This fight is basically only for bragging rights I guess because you have to S rank all 20 waves of the kairos gauntlet to even unlock this fight. I do not think this fight was worth that grind, I think the fight is a fine boss but there should be a reward to compensate for having to S rank all the waves.
@@safijivvaboi5081 i thought the reward be like a powerful weapon or maybe we can change appearance as shadow clive lol

@@bluesrock1986womp fucking womp
Not worth the effort regardless
The problem is that they teased this secret boss as something new. People expected a whole new fight. I was disappointed as well.
How the hell are you getting an S in every single challenges?
@@safijivvaboi5081 oh i see thx for the info!

Would be way better to have gilgamesh instead. Even a near end journey gilgamesh to make him more serious/mature with all the previous main ff1/ff15 hero weapons.

Or Ultima Weapon

well no reward at all :/
Wow I thought you just had to have a S rank by the end of a run not for all the damn circles.
This game desperately needs a boss rush imo.
impossible
How original lol
I beat the floors on new game plus 3 ff mode and they didn’t wanna give me this fight? Ridiculous 😂 still a great game tho
"Why will you not kneel?" His inability to control clive is what makes him question that
Clive literally has all the eikons power along with ultima's at the end of the game, he also does use the world changing spell just not how ultima wanted he instead used it to get rid of magic forever

Could have been but it truly lacks a lot of stuff that’s necessary to become one but it’s really close to it.
