Funny thing is this is accurate to how Michael would have been. He smarter than many people believe he is and is constantly outsmarting and manipulating his victims so he can toy with them
You hit every Survivor trope on the head and did a great job making this funny, in spite of some of these characters not having any obvious relationships. Great watch.

As a Brit, I'd never heard of Survivor before I started watching this channel and heard all the references to it, and I eventually caved and watched it over the pandemic. I'm now obsessed with it, have seen every season, and constantly barrage my friends, who had never heard of the show before I started watching it, with infodumps about it. Finding this channel also re-sparked my special interest in horror so this episode feels tailored specifically for me lmao

not to be dramatic but this was the most fun i’ve had watching a UA-cam video in a long ass time. as a survivor fan and a horror fan, this felt like it was made specifically for me. also, amanda young is a robbed goddess. second chances can’t come soon enough!
Amanda Young would 100% be an All Star. I also think Jon Voight would be on All Stars with a villain arc.
As much as I would have loved seeing a review of April Fool's Day, the games are my favorite part of the podcast. I'm still waiting for Guess the Kill 3.

I met Tom Savini a couple years ago at a store (Pittsburgh native here), and I didn't really know much about horror yet. But I did love From Dusk Till Dawn so I quietly asked him, "I'm sorry this is weird, but are you Sex Machine." He just smiled and said yes. He was so nice! Looking back it's probably because he didn't expect anyone to remember him from that movie compared to his whole career lol.
Carrie and Angela being best friends is the sweetest thing ever ngl
If you do another one of these, you should include Annie Wilkes! She is good at manipulation, able to carry around a grown man, and skilled in martial arts.

Same i had a huge fear of the puppet from Saw. Pretty much my entire life long. But someday i just said fuck it and watched the SAW kill count. At first it was hard, but i managed to look through every single SAW related kill count at the time. And now im not afraid anymore. To the contrary SAW is prolly my favourite Horror series now =D

I had a somewhat similar expierience, kind of. This show made me realize that alot of horror movies, especially slashers, are not really scary at all.
It's so funny imagining someone trying to get Michael to take sides in alliances. They'd propose something to him and he would just silently stare back until they walked away.

This but with final girls(or survivors)? Sydney, Grace, Julie (Ikwydls) Laurie, Sally. There's easily 18 you could think of. Some are hardened survivors, some are PTSD/greif struck, some won with brute force and some by outsmarting, it could be interesting!

It’s crazy how well your story reflects typical survivor story editing. Tiff going right before merge feels like it’s straight from a proper season.
From the beginning I was saying Michael isn't gonna last cause he is slow and can't talk but he stayed low key and kept himself from being booted and then went nuts and won out. What a god.
I think that James and Chelsea let Pamela being voted out by the girls and then voting for one of them in the final as wrong. She was so bitter about her child dying that she killed teenagers. I don't think she would easily forget those girls leading the charge to get her out and then her boys. Still, Michael the clear winner in this final three.
I feel like Michael would see Leatherface and be like "this dude is like me"

Despite hearing about it all my life, I've never watched a full episode of Survivor. At most, I've seen snippets of it while it happened to be on tv. You guys did such a good job explaining the concept and rules of the game that my lack of knowledge was a nonissue and I was still able to thoroughly enjoy this! Thank you both for being such well spoken and creative people. Survivor might be my next binge watch :)
You should start with s13 cook islands. One of the best seasons, casts, and winners the show has had. Think you'll love it

My headcannon is that Michael and Leatherface are non verbal and communicate via ASL. Even then, they're pretty elusive, but they still communicate.
@@bondfall0072 I don't think Leatherface would know sign language. Michael definitely would since he grew up in an institution but the Sawyer family does not seem like the type to care that much about their developmentally disabled brother getting proper education and accommodations.

I would love to see James on survivor. This was such a fun episode. I like how the final 3 were all on Baghol tribe and just let the other tribe vote each other off.
That’s how it happens, the strong tribe has the strongest personalities so after the merge they go first. The accuracy of this was crazy, shows how much James and Chelsea watch the show
This episode was absolutely phenomenal, I’d love to see a sequel. Fingers crossed for the Man from Hush next time!

As a fellow Survivor fan, this episode was so fun to listen to but I was also dying wanting to put in my own input and hoping you guys would see the connections and stuff that I thought of haha. Amazing concept as usual, Chelsea, and awesome job designing it!
The brand-new set and cameras means we can finally see the VHS taps in the background clearly and I was unreasonably happy to see Psycho '98 there. It's their favorite, after all.

Let's all keep heaving the praise onto James and Chelsie for this episode of the Podcast. It was so Good!!! I love the idea of multiple seasons of horror themed Survivor. Maybe a Stephen King characters only game? I'm also loving the suggestions for additional games like The Hunger Games or Big Brother. Personally I'd like to see Chelsie do her take on Squid Games and Danganronpa in this same fashion. My only criticism is that I feel like they needed someone to be the tiebreaker vote in some situations. Aside from that, I can't wait to see what happens next on the Dead Meat Podcast.
As someone who owns goats (with one being named Gizmo haha), those little snots will dig up anything. They dig up our plants all the time to eat them, to make holes to lay in during the summer, to make escape routes from their pen, and sometimes they just do it for fun. My goats are weird though so maybe that's just them.
HELP I don’t even watch survivor but this was so fun. Just the thought alone of these horror characters being forced to interact and some actually liking it was so funny to think about. Oh and also the mental image of Michael Myers being stone faced accepting a reward hsdjgkajfja🏆🗿

Oh my god, I’ve noticed some of the survivor references through the years, especially the mike white cameo in zombie land, but I never realized how big of fans James and Chelsea really are and it’s the best thing ever. I haven’t watched the last two seasons, but I don’t even care if they’re bad, I need to watch them now!

This is, without a doubt, the best episode of anything I’ve ever watched. I was invested from the moment those tribe names were read out!!
If you ever do a sequel to this, It would be fun to see Pinhead or Ginger from the Ginger Snaps franchise as contestants.
Something I love about this story is the honestly wonderful, healing relationship between Angela and Carrie. They absolutely stay life long beasties (maybe lovers) after the show. They both need a stable positive relationship in their lives.
Please do bring back this "game" one day, at least for another episode if not more. It's such a good concept and crosses two of my loves; horror films and competitive reality tv.

I've never seen Survivor, but the whole time they were doing the aliances I was just thinking about it in Total Drama terms, like: Okay, Angela and Carrie are like post-Heather Beth and Lindsay respectively, and Norman Bates and Leather face are Noah and Owen, and the Dad from Get Out is season one Zeke.
I guess that makes Tiffany the Heather to Angela and Carrie

A fun follow-up would be to do a version of this with Horror Movie Survivors (for example: Ripley, Ash, etc.).
I think Erin (You're Next), Pat (Green Room) and Michelle (10 Cloverfield Lane) would be interesting choices.

Bob is from Survivor Gabon and that season to me had the funniest cast of all time. None of their decisions ever made sense it was hilarious. Loved this episode by the way lol
