That clip about Barbara Muschietti and those two girls talking about casting Jessica Chastain is great for a number of reasons. The fact that eddies death (and richies reaction like holy fck) even made me cry just by you talking about it makes me really think richies actor deserves an oscar for that.
I have this theory about Stanley. I think the reason why he was able to truly remember while getting the phone call from Mike while the others had to come back to gain the memories is because he was the only one who truly never accepted what happened to them. Sometimes when you try to repress a memory, it can be easily triggered by something as simple as a phone call. By him trying to deny that Pennywise exists, he gave It a lot of power over him mentally because he didn’t try and process the fear, he just tried to repress it. Again, this is just a theory.
The part where Richie yells "FUCK YOU" at the kid is arguably the funniest part of the movie lmao, kills me every time. It's at least in the conversation, it's so awkward and hilarious at the same time. But Richie had a bunch of great lines both as a kid and an adult. Genius casting on both ends

I honestly wish Mike would've gotten more screen time, in the first film too. However, in the book he got quite a lot of time and attention with multiple chapters that are incredibly long being entirely about him. So, I suppose it kinda evens him out? These chapters mainly explore him investigating additional events that occurred in Derry involving It, so I understand why they didn't include that in the films since it would've taken SO long. Still, I think they could've done something to give him more time.
I think they should just do a spin off movie for that; with him looking into Derrys history and stuff between the two movies; it could also do some nodes to other works of Steven King since several of Kings Movies share a world
I kinda feel like they did the adult characters dirty, they are so much dumber in the movies than they are in the book. I think one of the most terrifying aspects of the book are that they can‘t scream or run or even react to them facing their biggest fears just because they‘d be seen as crazy people. In the movie they just run around screaming and destroying a restaurant. I still think it‘s on the top end of horror movies and a good Stephen King movie, but it doesn‘t hold up in comparison in my opinion. I do understand that a movie cant include everything that happens in the books, but the major character changes feel kinda weird when watching it after reading It.
I don't think it's Oscar-worthy, but it was a great performance. I feel like some of the kids from the first movie may have been deserving of nominations.
Is no one gonna talk about the fact that the Georgie actor was LEGIT CRYING CUZ HE COULDN'T BE ON SET W/ PENNYWISE THE DANCING KILLER CLOWN THAT KILLED GEORGIE IN THE FIRST MOVIE it's fucking cute 😢
Fun fact: the passage from King's book, was one that was thought by Eddie. This just continues the theme of Bill writing books based off of his experiences, and using people he loved that died, as the characters.
So, a typical Stephen King bully. Bullies in real life are horrible, but if any bully in real life did half the things any bully in a Stephen King novel did, they would be thrown in prison, no matter their age.
@@sirblarg9467 believe it or not, he was actually worse in the book. The "kids" part of the book was also set in the 50's, and Bowers and his father had the farm next to the Hanlon family. Bowers was deliberately and intentionally cruel, criminal and racist through the entire novel. Including, if I recall, poisoning the Hanlon family dog. If a kid behaving like he did existed today he'd be in juvie.
This movie,I saw it with my ex girlfriend (she was my girlfriend but we broke up) and this movie scared me to the point where I grabbed her hand and my dad saw us and when the movie was over,we went home and when we got home, everything was fine until I said “dad I’m gonna go to sleep” then he flipped out on me and call me a f@g and I was crying and this movie has some many good and bad memories attached to it
Goose eggs yeah but if he didn’t people might of thought he went to the cinema with his ex whilst they weren’t dating and also a bit insensitive saying that when he was verbally berated by his dad
Pennywise’s death symbolised how even the worst of people, and bullies, have things that make them turn into a little blob that can break at any moment. That hit hard......
I got so scared at the part where Pennywise scared Richie at the Paul Bunyan statue (from the flashback attack to the part where Pennywise sings and runs toward him) when I first saw this movie 😅
“i wish his secret was set up in the first movie” uh,, look at the scene of richie screaming “look at me” when eddies arm breaks and pennywise is trying to eat them and try to tell me that it’s not abundantly clear that he’s in love with eddie
I personally think part of the reason It Chapter Two doesn’t feel as scary as It Chapter One is because the opening scene is so horrifying in such a real way that the film never gets a chance to live up to that kind of terror
As a person who has been assaulted due to being lgbtq that scene made me have the biggest anxiety attack ever. And that’s not the films fault I just didn’t expect the opening to include something like that.
The adult casting for this movie was some of the best I've seen in any film; that's really an eye for detail from everyone involved in those choices, including the kids. Bill Skarsgard is talented as hell in both films, and Bill Hader rocks the house down.
butterfly kisses the mother is so fixated on her son in the game. I guess he didn’t have a birthmark. I’m assuming that she treats her daughter like that due to her birthmark.
It is so cool comparing this kill count to your It Chapter 1 videos. Your earlier videos are still great but watching you hone in on your style has been amazing! I agree that Chapter 2 wasn't as good at the first one, but I still really enjoyed it after the 2nd watch. When Baby Pennywise's head deflated against the wall literally the whole theater gasped with an odd combination of disgust and delight.
As someone who has hated horror for about 25 years of my 29 year life due to panic attack-inducing traumatophobia (fear of injury, gore, etc), I actually love how comedic this movie is. It was a great test of my years of exposure therapy, and being able to laugh during a scary scene is a juxtaposition I think is fantastic. I hate vomit, especially vomit going into another person's mouth, so having a song play during Eddie's token scene made me burst out laughing so hard we had to pause the movie while I tried to catch my breath. Rather than being disgusted, that incredibly out-of-left-field directing choice made the scene not only something I could watch without freaking out, but even go back to watch again.

Also the symbolism of the Paul Bunyan statue chasing Richie after the homophobic encounter really hits different in that context
i’m still recovering from eddies death. i cry every day because of it
At what time?

I have this theory about Stanley. I think the reason why he was able to truly remember while getting the phone call from Mike while the others had to come back to gain the memories is because he was the only one who truly never accepted what happened to them. Sometimes when you try to repress a memory, it can be easily triggered by something as simple as a phone call. By him trying to deny that Pennywise exists, he gave It a lot of power over him mentally because he didn’t try and process the fear, he just tried to repress it. Again, this is just a theory.

Bill Hader's Jabba impression was the hardest I've ever laughed in a movie theater
I think they should just do a spin off movie for that; with him looking into Derrys history and stuff between the two movies; it could also do some nodes to other works of Steven King since several of Kings Movies share a world
I love your pfp!!!!!!!!
I think if they'd have done any more with him, they'd have had to cut out someone elses scenes. This movie is already almost over 3 hours long.
I think if they'd have done any more with him, they'd have had to cut out someone elses scenes. This movie is already almost over 3 hours long.

Bowers isn’t really a bully at this point, he’s more of a criminal
So, a typical Stephen King bully. Bullies in real life are horrible, but if any bully in real life did half the things any bully in a Stephen King novel did, they would be thrown in prison, no matter their age.
I mean... have you read the book?
@@dairinehutcheson8489 no, the only Stephen king. Books I’ve read are The Shining and The Gunslinger
@@sirblarg9467 believe it or not, he was actually worse in the book. The "kids" part of the book was also set in the 50's, and Bowers and his father had the farm next to the Hanlon family. I personally think part of the reason It Chapter Two doesn’t feel as scary as It Chapter One is because the opening scene is so horrifying in such a real way that the film never gets a chance to live up to that kind of terror
Agreed. It’s one of the very few times a movie like this has made me genuinely want to stop watching and walk away.
Also somewhat the Vicky scene
Neither movie was scary to me in anyway. Considering how much further the book goes these two and the 1990 mini series are as tame as a Dr Seuss book.
As a person who has been assaulted due to being lgbtq that scene made me have the biggest anxiety attack ever. And that’s not the films fault I just didn’t expect the opening to include something like that.
@@ihaterachel9282 im confused how do u being part of the lgbtq contribute to this
The adult casting for this movie was some of the best I've seen in any film; that's really an eye for detail from everyone involved in those choices, including the kids. Bill Skarsgard is talented as hell in both films, and Bill Hader rocks the house down.
didn't the kid actors choose their adult counterparts?

I felt so bad when the little girl died, like all she wanted was to be “pretty” and she was already beautiful :(
Cesar Viera she just wanted to be like everyone else, no birthmark. Had nothing to do with pretty.
The first scene made me cry as well as the little girl scene im surprised they didnt have her mother go looking for her i was wondering about that 😢
butterfly kisses the mother is so fixated on her son in the game. I guess he didn’t have a birthmark. I’m assuming that she treats her daughter like that due to her birthmark.
All she wanted was the birth mark to go away and pennywise had to kill her
I was so pissed 😢
