I came across this video in my feed and it led me down an enchanted path to ponds, cabins and quilts! I caught myself smiling while I watched your dreams come true. So much so that I gave myself a headache lol. My face isn't used to smiling for such a long time. Thank you for inspiring me to get creative on my own path 💜 I've been trying but I'm struggling. I look forward to watching your other videos!
Absolutely! One of the few men I've seen that make dreams come true without saying "that won't work", or "it can't be done" or worse yet, "that's a crazy idea". Thanks Ant! 😊
Kate, You are a rich woman indeed. A beautiful family that you love and loves and helps you, a wonderful friend and builder in Ant, a means of reaching out to touch our lives through youtube, which enrichens all of our lives as well. God bless you all. 😊
Every time I see Eileen swimming in the pond, I start to cry! Knowing she was rescued, seeing her so happy and thriving, and living her BEST LIFE just fills me with joy. Five and a half minutes into this recap video and it is just as entrancing as it was all year long watching it come together. Deep sigh...
This collaboration between you and Ant brings me so much joy to watch from the sidelines. You both get along beautifully and work well together - you have a warm and respectful friendship that anyone would want for. Thank you, Kate and thank you, Ant for providing this glimpse into your slice of heaven on earth.
What an absolutely PERFECT retreat ! ! I could sit and watch Eileen swimming around all day ! ! Would give anything for your Ant near me ! ! What a cherished friend ! !
Such a joy watching anything you do, Kate❣️ What would you do without Ant, right?! So fun to watch again this process & have Anna put in “fast time” so to speak ☺️ You are so blessed ❤
I saw each episode but enjoyed the recap. Above all the building, which is awesome, I most enjoyed watching Eileen in all her glory! What a life that girl has!
I'm so pleased I saw all of it transpire! I thought there were quilts on that wall... Absolutely beautiful that wall! What a blessing having Ant, a champion builder! It's lovely Kate! I smiled so much through it all!.❤
Kate you and all those who surround you are just so precious and I am forever grateful to you and everyone who surrounds you for sharing a life worth living. Blessings to you and yours
Margaret from PA here. I loved seeing this. I watched it happening in “real motion” and this was so nice to see it in retrospect. I got quite emotional over the wooden quilt wall - don’t know why but it affected me that way just a lovely idea Ant had. He is such a good friend to you. 😊
I have been following Kate since covid when I actually discovered UA-cam videos. You bring a sense of calm and inspiration to my life. You are a treasure!
Hello from Barbara in the USA. Your granddaughter is beautiful. I know how special your time with her is as I have a granddaughter and four grandsons. It is worth all the years to it took to grow old!! They are the treasure at the end of our rainbow. Have really enjoyed spending time with you, thanks for being here.
I started last homely house when your channel started. It is a happy journey to see how your channel has grown and your life has become even more creative! I listen to you when I knit and lately when I quilt. I started making Linus quilts inspired by you. I made 16 quilts last winter, and now that the garden is almost done, I will start again. Thank you for 7 years of inspiration. EILEEN! Peg Richard
So very lovely to watch the recap of the cabin and pond journey, I am new to your channel, here in New Market , Maryland, USA, my late husband finished out a big Amish shed for me, it turned out to be our little oasis, we built a bed together, and furnished the little cabin with chandeliers and lovely decorations, he built me a little camping toilet area with a curtain, our little love shack as we called it years ago even had a big tv and little refrigerator, our last years together we spent more and more time in our little shack, even if we had our big house just feet away. I cherish those memories, he passed away unexpectedly nearly 7 years ago. And I have since lost my home and live with my elderly parents, caring for them. Your video reminded me so much of how he and I worked together on our little love shack, such beautiful memories. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Wishing you two the best!
I can’t put into words just how wondrous this process has been, and what a blessing all of the videos are and will be to watch over and over. I love everything that you do Kate! These videos have brought great joy and peace to my life when we are living in a time of turmoil and evil. So, all my thanks to you, Anna, and Ant for sharing of your time and talents. What a blessing…………………….
My mother-in-law recently passed at the age of 102. She was a quilter. When I saw your wooden quilt wall it brought tears to my eyes. I love watching you and love your cabin. Thank you.
believe she brings tears to all our eyes. You are so so so fortunate to have had your mother in your life for so many years. Mine left when 27 (a very young 27), fortunately the "core love" was seated.
@@4cecil9 I understand that early loss. My mother died at a similar age. I noticed two things. There is s kind of subconscious scanning of the human landscape, to make friends with women of a similar age. I just need those older women in my life, and I got to do for them what I wanted to do for my mother. And all my milestones, the things I ‘would have written home about’, I shared with them. So as much as I miss my mother, I am so grateful for the half dozen elders to walk along side, on our journeys.
Thank you, Kate - and Ant - and Eileen (pond Landlady), I enjoyed every minute that you showed of the build as it happened. This revisit is satisfying and heartwarming. I can't get enough of your garden, pond and cabin. Thanks again. 🧡💚💙💜
I'm new here; from N. Arkansas, USA where we have a similar climate. I did the same here and now rent to a sister and brother who really appreciate as they had been homeless. Love the wooden quilt! (btw I'm 73) Almost did a grass roof but thought better of it.
What part of England did you move to? It's seems so peaceful where this video is filmed. That was a big move from N. Arkansas. Very brave and adventurous of you, especially as you get older. Well done!
Kate,, It was wonderful watching you and Ant work together with a common goal of building the cabin and pond. What an accomplishment for both of you and the enjoyment you and your family will have for many years to come! Thank you!
When I saw you pouring that cup of tea, I thought: that's my kind of lady! Haha! I finshed the video with a cup myself. What you' ve done Is brilliant, I was moved with the quilt wall. I think I speak on behalf of all viewers, we all want to hire Ant! Definitely a place to enjoy life. Eileen, so sweet when she answers back at the end of the video❤
Ant is a treasure. Can you send him over this side of the pond😁. I love seeing you, Kate, doing your stuff too. You are a treasure too.❤Agnes has grown sew much...yes a future quilter 😁
I love the calm, beautiful theme of your videos. You have a serene way of speaking that is such a wonderful contrast to the loud and fast pace of most videos. When the world (USA) becomes too much, I know I can count on your videos to help me become calmer and more sane. Thank you for being my UA-cam haven.
Kate and Anna, it's so lovely to see how the cabin and pond have evolved over time. I enjoy all the Garden Channel videos, as well as the UA-cam and Patreon videos. I also enjoy Ant's videos on Ants County Life. Take care all. ❤😊
Hi Kate, while I have watched each and every one of these videos individually, it was a nice composition you and Anna put together. You have a lovely little hide-a-way cabin, so cozy and perfect.
What a wonderful project you’ve done with Ant. It’s a dream come true for you and us. I’m in the USA , Florida am 81 and you’ve given me a wonderful dream come true.❤️
Love the wood quilt. Just like an indoor barn quilt with much more detaiI. Absolutely stunning ❤❤❤. It gives the cabin a magical feel along with the covered porch butting up against a duck pond. Wow!!!
It brought back memories of watching the cabin being built. It is a cabin of peace where your creativity can run wild. Love the wooden quilted and seeing wall and seeing Agnes playing with the shapes. X
My husband passed 11 and 1/2 years ago. He was much like Ant, very handy and could build anything. He built a wood working shop, his hobby. It looked like an old general store. A few years back the shop had to be taken down, termites got into the underside. Your little cabin is a cute little hideaway, tucked away from your other world, the cottage. Everyone needs an Ant in their life, how blessed you are to have such a good friend. In my part of the world it is hard to get anyone around to do anything, everyone is so busy. I’m anxious to see how things go with your sod roof. Another person who has a cabin with a sod roof is Sue Akins from “Life Below Zero”. She renovated an old cabin in Alaska and has also done wondrous things. She planted flowers on hers. Both of you women are simply awesome! ❤️
Wow! I am blown away at how amazing your cabin dream has become a reality. Love hearing all the birds during the filming. Can't wait to see how it progresses.
I love what you do, and you inspire me to try new things and be myself, no matter what happens in my life. Thank you, and all around you for keeping us grounded! ❤❤❤
It’s always enjoyable to see a time lapse such as this one. A lot of work went into it, and a lot of creativity as well. Such a delightful place to sit and do some work or just sit and enjoy the scenery.
Kate and Eileen living the life!! What a wonderful friend you have in Ant willing to see your dreams come true! The quilt wall is just perfect….as is your cabin! Such a peaceful place for you to “get away”! Love from Pennsylvania,USA 💕🌷🐻
I have been watching this process all along, but Anna's editing of this compilation is terrific! What a treat :). Had to smile at all the little backstories alluded to, as well, like the quick shot of the felt flowers added before Ant had even put the final nails in the shelf that held them!
Kate thank you for sharing your beautiful land and home with us. I live in hot and humid Florida and love to imagine I am right there with you. Thank you for brightening my day!
Oh! Love your wooden quilted wall!! Your sweet grand daughter...one of my dear memories is of attending pre-school and assembling little wooden blocks, with the same pattern as your wall, inside a small square cardboard box. It fascinated me....(and still does- decades later!) you have a little piece of heaven! Enjoy😊👍✌️
Hello Kate. I love your wood quilt wall behind you. It was fun watching you on that machine. So glad you were having fun after being under the weather awhile back. Your cabin seems like an amazing place for a good book or a refreshing nap. The sound of water would call for a nap. Anna is a great daughter-in-law who seems to love going on all these adventures you have. Hope you are feeling well. Thank you again for sharing everything.
Great recap of all that happened in your life this past year. I loved the shot with Eileen testing out the pond after you put in the liner & some water. I really like how you are a real "hands on" helper type person. That's how I am too & so we have a kindred spirit. I have fallen in love with Ant during this year process. He's a real jewel & friend.
I absolutely love you. I have watched the whole video from the very beginning. This was a great clip that you put together. Anna really did a great job. Love you love love you. You’re a craftsman beyond and I wish I had them here. I’m telling you he can move in tomorrow.❤😂
SO enjoyed this recap. I had watched most of the episodes, but nice to see them tied together. Such a sweet, relaxing little destination in a crazy world. I feel so happy and content after watching. Thank you and thank you.
How beautiful. I have a 100 year old Stock and Station building as my sewing room detached from our house surrounded by cottage gardens...in rural Australia. I just love going out there creating my quilts. I know exactly how you feel in your little shed.
What a beautiful little retreat..You and Anst have really accomplished something special inside and out. My heartfelt admiration and compliments to you both! Wish every young person today would watch this and appreciate what hard work and sharing ideas can accomplish! You have taught that well. How about some of your tiny patchwork curtains in there? I love them!
I have absolutely loved watching the progress of your pond and cabin build! It tickles me when you refer to your cabin as your “haven”, as I would consider your while place a haven! The farm setting, animals to watch, your house and workroom, your gardens, greenhouse, the lake and the noisy birds in the pines, the neighboring villages and history, the gorgeous countryside…. What’s not to love!!! Color me jealous! 😊 Peace Love & Happiness
dear Kate..................it,s fantastic to see how this fantastic area has developed over the last year.............and your goose(forgot her name)enjoys the first poodle.....Blessings and Greetings from Daggy,Kiel,Germany☘☘☘
I watched the building of the cabin but towards the end when you showed the roof top garden I couldn't help but 😁. I had forgotten that bit. Absolutely wonderful re-cap. What a beautiful place to retreat to. So happy Ants was able to make your whole dream come true.
What a brilliant gentle woman kate is. Already follow your quilting blogs ( ive been quilting 30 yrs and still inspired by lots of blogs) but your cabin video is SOMETHING ELSE!! Love the wooden half sq triangle blocks. Love Ant too.
I love your wood quilt wall! I will be replacing my 600 sq ft deck next year and repurposing that wood to cover the unfinished walls in my garage. The quilt idea is inspiring and will look great. Thanks for the inspiration.
I think we could all use a little cabin! Wonderful video. Was good to see it all again. I wonder if in the future you could let us see the roof of the cabin again to see how the grasses and plants look? What a wonderful retreat for you!
Addit…beautiful background and calming video says she with a face mask and glass of red from Margaret River region, following two gorgeous days with my 84 year mother in Cervantes, visiting the sensational Pinnacles here in Western Australia! There! ….Thankyou for the lovely video and transporting me to a beautiful green environment! From a kindred spirit quilter in Perth, Western Australia 🇦🇺🦘
What an idyllic place you have there! Loved re-watching the journey. Please keep us posted on how the green roof is going. I'm intrigued. This was such a reminder of what a treasure you have in Ant! Love him!
This is such a lovely tribute to Ant! In America men of his many great and wonderful talents are called handy men. There is nothing to be embarrassed about! He is naturally and wonderfully gifted! I also love your quilt wall and it gave me an idea. You mentioned you wanted to turn your granddaughter into a quilter, wouldn't it be a great start to have wooden shapes to make pinwheels and geese? I am forever obsessed with pinwheels and HSTs! Thank you so much for sharing!
How fun! I felt the joy all through the build. It is absolutely lovely. You will enjoy it in all seasons! 🤩 I had a new wooden greenhouse in my garden built this summer too. Its just 20 meters from my house, but I too feel like I'm on a Holiday. From inside I can see a lot of wildlife, today I had pheasants visiting my garden, I live in the woods. We have had a wet and cold summer, so now the tomatoes are starting to ripen, finally, they were so happy to move indoors.
Hiya Kate😊❤,having watched every step of your progression and Anna's documentation of Ants considerablle input-enjoyed the recap today;- still the best part was Ms Eileen testing and giving her approval as the pond started filling😊!! Best wishes to all and also those who budge up so theres always room for another of us on the lime green sofa!,Enjoy the channels you've reccomended along the way,-espically Ant's (had a stone waller in the family). Keep well, safe and content always 👌 👍 🙏 julia,Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺 😀 😊 😄
Why not have Ant make Agnes a block set? A quilt pattern block set. She sees quilt patterns all the time. So, make a frame and she can play with various blocks that fit within the frame. It not only will keep little ones occupied while the adult gets work done on a quilt, but it will foster math and pattern concepts within the brain of the child automatically. You might be surprised at what the little ones come up with as to mixing and matching various patterns or ways of putting various blocks together. Not just for girls either. I know I was fascinated by my quilt and traced the block patterns with my finger as I dozed off. I think she would adore it and so would your other grandkids. They can test the prototypes!
What a great idea! My son would have love that. He learned to sew because I worked at a sewing shop with many machines available. I took him to work with me several times. I made him lots of clothes & costumes when he was small. Ant can do that in his "spare" time! 😂
I don’t think you will any longer be moving will you after all the lovely work you have done both in the house and garden both look a different place . But so so nice . I love them both . Ant is a very clever man with his talents .
We need to clone Ant, as everyone should have an Ant in their lives. Thanks Ant for helping make Kates dreams and ideas come to fruition.
Absolutely! One of the few men I've seen that make dreams come true without saying "that won't work", or "it can't be done" or worse yet, "that's a crazy idea". Thanks Ant! 😊
With Kate’s ideas and Ants wonderful work makes for a amazing life! If I could be so lucky….
The joy of Ant, a man who can. And he’s happy to trial things so refreshing!
not there's a business idea! x x x
Yes!!! Ant is a treasure 💕

One of the things you do on a regular basis that absolutely inspires me, Kate, is you finish things- you finish what you start!
This collaboration between you and Ant brings me so much joy to watch from the sidelines. You both get along beautifully and work well together - you have a warm and respectful friendship that anyone would want for. Thank you, Kate and thank you, Ant for providing this glimpse into your slice of heaven on earth.
And I just remembered that these videos are when we all fell in love with Ant! What a treasure he is!

I thought there were quilts on that wall...
Absolutely beautiful that wall!
What a blessing having Ant, a champion builder!
It's lovely Kate!
I smiled so much through it all!.❤
I love the way Eileen claimed the pond as soon as there was water in it.
It was cute. She knew it was ment for her!
Right? Just like pet cats on quilts, isn’t she?😊
Oh Silly Girl you’re just having too much fun living your best life, and I’m having so much fun watching you. I’m over the moon with joy for you.
Kate you and all those who surround you are just so precious and I am forever grateful to you and everyone who surrounds you for sharing a life worth living. Blessings to you and yours

Ant is a walking Wikipedia! A talented builder and so knowledgeable about practical things, he is!
Your energy is so lovely and calming and I thank you for sharing your home and garden with us.
So lovely! And my most thrilling moment was to see Eileen swimming without the walk first. 🙂↕️🌱🌿🍀

I love them!
I am currently working on an exciting curtain project. Stay tuned. x x x
Enjoyed this. Always great to see the collaborations and conversations between Ant and Kate.👍💚
This is just lovely from beginning to end.
I love that Eliene jumped inn before it got full,,such a happy goose
Kate, your cabin and pond are so lovely. To think it took only a year. Congratulations to you and Ant.
What an amazing project! You and Ant had quite a wonderful vision….it’s stunning to see it accomplished! ❤
I’m surprised someone hasn’t made a reality showing this kind of lifestyle.
I’d definitely watch. Just like I did this video! 😁💪👏👍👌🏡
Great to see the whole process in one film. Ant is a treasure !
I love the end of your day, down at the cabin. The wonderful calming birdsong and the tranquil pond, and of course Eileen, she's awesome ❤
Such a lovely little cabin. It will bring you immense joy.
dear Kate..................it,s fantastic to see how this fantastic area has developed over the last year.............and your goose(forgot her name)enjoys the first poodle.....Blessings and Greetings from Daggy,Kiel,Germany☘☘☘
I've watched all the videos on this channel so far - I had forgotten how warming, satisfying and melodious that squeaky door was!
I came late to the building of your little cabin and I loved the look back to the process. Well done Kate (and Ant), what a great partnership!
I really enjoyed seeing the whole process.
Well done Kate and Ant,
it’s a wonderful place you have planned and created - love it 🏡
What a friend you have in Ant! He is worth more than his weight in gold!
What a MAGNIFICENT 12 months it's been. Enjoyed every minute of it and thank you for sharing your journey. Greetings from Amsterdam xxxx
From a kindred spirit quilter in Perth, Western Australia 🇦🇺🦘
great one, thanks for sharing this video cheers
This video was such a treat to watch! Thank you for sharing your life, your art, your family and your love.
OMGosh! I love this. I have a big pond on the property, now I just need the cabin. If I had the money, I think hubby would be on board.
What an idyllic place you have there! Loved re-watching the journey. Please keep us posted on how the green roof is going. I'm intrigued. This was such a reminder of what a treasure you have in Ant! Love him!
a little piece of Paradise within a larger piece of Paradise - wonderful Kate - blessings and enjoy every moment xx
What a wonderful revisit. Love watching Kate & Ant working their magic together.
Just marvelous Kate and well done Ant! I was imagining sitting there and sewing, painting, reading and napping. So very Zen.
Sounds great! x x x
Agnes has many blocks and loves playing with them! x x
I don’t think you will any longer be moving will you after all the lovely work you have done both in the house and garden both look a different place . But so so nice . I love them both . Ant is a very clever man with his talents .
Great job!!! I like you made special memories for the little girl. She will always remember sharing this time with you.
