My nephew planted a pine tree in my mom’s yard, and decades later she wouldn’t trim it even when it was blocking everything-it represented her love for her 30+ yo first grandchild. I can so understand that steady love, embodied in John’s oak.
I needed this little stroll through your garden today. What a successful planting you and John have done. It comes to mind the saying, “A society grows great when old men (or women) plant trees, under whose shade they know they may never sit.” You are such a gem, dear Kate! ❤🌳❤️
Ilene wasn't too keen on having folks around her pond. She made me smile. Lovely trees 😊. I remember when you would bend the willow branches around each other along the willow walkway. Thank you for the tree tour😊❤!
What a great garden! All these trees will hopefully be around for the future. You are a good custodian of the nature around you Kate. Thank you for sharing
Hello Kate. Thank you for sharing your sewing and garden of trees and your wisdom to appreciate their fruits and nuts, and oxygenation that supports our lives. Absolutely AWESOME !!! Bravo to you !!! Keep living so blessed with the Nature God provides us with with a little bit of work and caring on our part. ❤
Kate I love your home and garden. I would love a cabin you have for my sewing and other crafts. But my family I don’t think I would have to have someone walk with me. I have had a lot of falls ,but I think it would make me much better. So I get joy from your home. Thank you so much. Have a safe and blessed day.
I heard a quick comment about planting for the future generation. How lovely to develop your land, not only for your own pleasure in mind, but also that of your family members. I've been noticing that here in Canada that families whose culture tends to keep families together are happier. You seem to have created a family that understands and accepts their responsibility to help you. At the same time, you're an easy, happy person to be around!! I loved the tour.
❤ My house in California was part of a property developed as a farm in the 1840’s, owned by a woman named Isabella. My house is from 1940. It’s along the river. I have elder, oak, lemon, orange, almond, black walnut, olive, loquat, the plum died during the last drought, and mulberry. It all just does its thing. …the grape too it’s so old it’s more like trees than vines. 🌈🌈🦋🦋
When my daughter Hazel was born( a winter baby) my father planted a Witch Hazel tree in his yard. She is now off to college and the tree is quite lovely.
Lovely! When I'm out riding, it is so special to go through an archway of trees. You are a good steward of your land. I try to do the same here, getting trees from the Dept. of Environmental Conservation. When I walk among my white pines, they are 29 years old now, grown up and providing me with pine needle mulch, a wind break, and beauty, I remember planting them when a bundle of 25 tiny saplings fit in my hands. I'm making some pine sap cough drops in a few days, so they are also providing me with a natural medicine.
Thank you Kate and Anna, your trees are looking beautiful. You live in a lovely part of the country and it’s a joy to see your enthusiasm for the wilder bits.
Oh Kate. I love the walk through your garden. What a fun place to visit and I’m sure a great place for children to run play hide & seek. Those apple trees are looking good. I see apple pies, apple crisp, apple jelly and maybe some apple butter too in the future. Your house will smell heavenly on the crispy days. You and your son put a lot of work and love into the planting. 🌳🍎🍏🥧
Lovely to see the planted trees doing so well. In Scotland in the rural area of the Highlands most homes had a Rowan in the garden. Superstition - they are supposed to keep witches away.
Absolutely lovely to sit and watch all your beautiful trees and how well your new saplings have come along, which makes all your efforts so worthwhile. xx
Awww, this was lovely! I loved the bit at the end where we got to see how the green/living roof is doing on the cottage! One thing I was thinking Kate - you're so lucky to have all this knowledge about plants and trees and I'm sure it's something you don't think twice about. I didn't grow up with a garden, it was just my mum and I, so we lived in small flats or with my Granny, so I never learned those skills - which I realise now, just how much I wish I had that head-full of knowledge that you do! So, thank you for sharing, it means a lot to me. xx
Yay, a new video! 😊 Always love seeing what you're up to & enjoying! What a great tour of your lovely property. TREES! Ahh, love trees! What a great example for us all - Plant Trees!!! Please take us along when you & Ant get to pruning your hedgerows, willow & trees. I love pruning & you two are always fun to watch. I'll bet you will have some great projects with your willow. Great chop & drop or composting material for your soil. Greetings from Virginia Beach, Virginia, from across the pond on the east coast of the USA. 😊
Kate, hello from Georgia in the US. I remember when you and Jon planted those; I can't believe that was 1 1/2 yrs ago. I absolutely love trees; they fascinate me with all the different colors and shapes. I look forward to seeing their progress. Thank you for sharing all your adventures with us on the lime green sofa. Take care.
Enjoying the tree tour🥰🥰. I think Iolene is not happy😋. She owns that pond territory!!!’ Thank you for sharing. Love you and Anna We’ve had a lovely cool spell for abt 10 days but to get hot and humid again. Fortunately we have had rains here in mid-Tennessee 😊😊😊
I love how Eileen believes you built that pond just for her! And I believe you may have. Great look at your vision with the wilder treed parts of your property, I hope yuor vision passes through many generations to come, such a legacy. Thank you Kate.
Your garden and cabin are lovely and thank you for sharing. The goose is not Eileen and it spoke to you in both videos but you did not acknowledge the poor thing. There is a delightful you tube channel Cog Hill Farm I think you would enjoy of an Alabama family homestead. There are all sorts of animals, fowl and gardening featured
What a happy surprise to find you here at mid week. The garden is so wild and wonderful that I can imagine the birds and the other wildlife making themselves at home there. I can see that Eileen is quite happy guarding the cabin. Have a wonderful rest of the week and I'll look forward to seeing you on Sunday, God Bless
The willow arch as a car wash, ha ha ha 😂😂😂 Your channels are like therapy, better even, I suppose 😊🙏🏻 Ant, are you watching this video??? Ha ha ha, makes me chuckle, he just finished a stone wall repair in a huge effort… he won’t be bored any time soon 👍🏻😂😉
It is so lovely to see Eileen the goose. I wondered if she would like a mate, as she seems so alone, but very happy to have her beautiful pond of course. xxx
Hello Kate! So great to see you. My husband and I planted around 100 trees and shrubs around 20 years ago. We are very much enjoying the birds that have nested in and the rabbits and deer hiding among the shrubs.
I love the different levels of green the Aussie in me wants to whipper snip not only because of snakes but fire danger is always at the front of my mind. Lucky its not a problem there
While I understand the need to control the growth of some trees…I LOVE YOUR HEDGE, KATE JUST THE WAY IT IS! I’m a tree lover as well. Thanks so much for sharing❤
Your garden and trees are beautiful, Kate! You not only have a talented needle, but a green thumb, as well! I so enjoy your ventures! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
Eileen always watching through the window, or splashing about the pond, the plethora of trees and climbers, the tiny cottage and happy place for you, love the structure you are bringing!
Hi Kate, how lucky that you are able to keep the apples on the trees. The cockatoos strip my apple and pear trees before the fruit is ripe. They just say “thanks for lunch”! Cheers from Melbourne.
❤I would love to be following you around your garden 😊🇺🇸I am from the swampy south. Louisiana. This makes me happy to know someone else has a love of trees 🌳
So lovely..your my kinda people, you remind me so much of my family. We lived in country just north of Seattle. Farm, horses goats, fruit trees and gardens❤
This is so beautiful! I can’t wait for my 5 year old granddaughter, Rowan, to watch this video with me. She has never seen a Rowan tree and this is going to make her day! 🥰
I am a bit like you, Kate, in that I love a wild, bushy kind of garden, in that it attracts all kinds of wildlife and little creatures. What a variety of trees you have planted. I never realized that your garden was so large. Your life is full of 'bits and bobs' Greetings from Ontario, Canada.
Always lovely to go on walks with you and the goose thought you had come for a visit I bet …that’s what every one should be doing planting apple seeds or acorns the world need more trees since house building removes then all because it’s easier ,,so sad to have a yard and no trees thanks so much for taking us along

Thank you for the lovely tour of your trees and garden. It put the location of the cabin in perspective for us too in relation to the rest of the area around your home. Love how everything is so green! I'm a tree lover as well, and believe you can never have too many!
Thank you for sharing with us your lovely, peaceful place and your delightful projects. It fills my heart with wonder and joy... helps me look for the ways I want to build wonder where I am. I live in Texas, and it's hard to grow things here, but I join you for quilting projects. And maybe I will take on the weeds between the flagstones in my own yard when the weather cools off.
`Pork and apples for dinner? Yum! I always make stewed apples when we're having pork. I am watching your tree tour with fascination and not just a little envy. Here in North Texas, where we just finished a week of uninterrupted 100+ degree days, we're lucky to grow peach and mulberry trees fairly easily.
Love the Honeysuckle, its classed as a problem plant here which is a shame as I grew up smelling their beautiful scent. Love your Trees and what an awesome planting for your next generation. Huge Hugs from NZ xx
Thank you Kate for the lovely stroll through your garden. The filming also was so well done. Oh Kate I can't believe you have a russet apple tree & don't like them😮. They are one of my favourites. I am also very fond of a Discovery, the smell of them is amazing. We are lucky to have so many fantastic varieties of apples in the UK❤
What a joy this afternoon to watch your lovely video. Your garden is beautiful and certainly reflects years of love and hard work. Kuddos to you and your "helpers". Thank you🥰
The story of John planting the acorn was delightful. To see trees grow to a good size from seed is a once in a lifetime privilege .🌳🌲🌿🍂🍁
Thank you, Kate and filmographer. What a pleasure to watch you ambling round your lovely garden and to see your special trees. 💜💙💚
My nephew planted a pine tree in my mom’s yard, and decades later she wouldn’t trim it even when it was blocking everything-it represented her love for her 30+ yo first grandchild. I can so understand that steady love, embodied in John’s oak.
I love that we plant trees for our grandchildren.
I loved strolling through the garden as you proudly introduce your green babies!
I am passionate about trees and love seeing someone else that is filled with joy talking about their trees.
A lovely walk around! "More success than failure" ... yes!
I needed this little stroll through your garden today. What a successful planting you and John have done. It comes to mind the saying, “A society grows great when old men (or women) plant trees, under whose shade they know they may never sit.” You are such a gem, dear Kate! ❤🌳❤️

Thank you Kate and Anna for a wonderful peaceful video!
Trees are a legacy for those to come. A wonderful tree project.❤
Thank you Kate. It was lovely to take a break from a busy day, and sit with a cup of tea while joining you on a walk about your garden.

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Reminds me of growing up in the country when I was younger. Thank you!
Lovely. I think Ilene is living her best life yet. 👍
Thank you Kate for such a calming video. It was very much needed right now.
It's always fun to see the growth of the trees over time.
I live in such a different climate and landscape in rural Texas. 100 degrees expected today. This was such a treat with this morning's bacon and eggs.
Thank you Kate and Anna, your trees are looking beautiful. You live in a lovely part of the country and it’s a joy to see your enthusiasm for the wilder bits.
The faeries clearly like what you've done with your garden .

You’re a very good presenter Kate. I felt like I was watching Gardener’s World. Very interesting video.
So lovely..your my kinda people, you remind me so much of my family. We lived in country just north of Seattle. Farm, horses goats, fruit trees and gardens❤
A lovely stroll with you through your garden was a pleasure.
Beautiful walk around. I love being amongst the trees.
So nice to have that space to roam around in! 😊
This is so beautiful! I can’t wait for my 5 year old granddaughter, Rowan, to watch this video with me. She has never seen a Rowan tree and this is going to make her day! 🥰
Wonderful!

Simple love all your trees. Lots of work. But very much worth it. 😊
I love the story of the acorn tree. So special. You have a lovely property, Kate.
Loved the Garden walk today . You and John did a good job with the trees ❤

Eileen's honking is so funny. She's always the center of attention 😂
Ant, I hope you're taking notes. Kate has more projects!
Well Kate, when i started to watch this video i was at 117 likes, and now at the end of it you have gone up to 213 liikes, that is super fast take up of people. You have a big, big garden and it is just as well you like gardening because the size it is, it would be a wasted opportunity to help the life out that helps you, field mice in all. I don't think my 2 sticks would get me around it , but having had a mum who was dedicated to a real gardena, wildlife and all, i can see the why you do it. Thank you for exploration around the wildes of the top of England. Crafty hugs from Norah, over the border up in Central Scotland
When I lived in England I used to make Rowan Berry Jelly. Apart from eating with traditional venison dishes, it's quite delicious with cheese.
Kate I love your gardens . It’s always so beautiful and the breeze is always blowing. I know you always do your research before all your projects and you probably already know this about honeysuckle. It is very prevalent here in the south in the USA. Grows wild and in abundance. It is VERY evasive and over time left unattended will choke out any living greenery it can wrap around. It does smell lovely, and as children we all would pick the blooms and suck the nectar out. Very sweet! But like I said extremely evasive. 😊 Ty for sharing your life with us.
That is because honeysuckle was imported from Asia. Our native honeysuckle is not invasive. English honeysuckle is native to the UK. We are careful not to plant invasive species here. x x x
Oh what a pleasure...I just love trees...I hate it when ever i see a developer chopping down beautiful trees t o build yet another housing development...we don't need more houses - (there are plenty that are standing empty)...we need trees!!
Oh, how I want to pull on a pair of muck boots and explore with you, Kate! Your property is lovely!
The baby trees are doing quite well. I'm so happy for you. I guess that's what happens when water falls from the sky, eh? LOL - it's a real struggle to get things to grow here in the desert and even native plants are a challenge, but I'm trying. Thank you for the tour. I love what you've done there. All those years in one place and a real love of nature shows in the wonderful results.
Oh that willow tunnel. From age 4-7 my family lived on a dairy in NE Washington State . I played on a small hill topped by willows just like yours. Dolls made from sticks, make believe at it's best. An early read was Wind in the Willows to ignite my imagination.❤
Thank you indeed. Yes my our Trees do grow.
I have a huge Oak that I love to bits.
Many many acorns this year which the Old Wifes tell me means a Heavy Snow Winter.
I'll keep you posted. S 🇨🇦
Wonderful to see you outside, reminds me of the early vids you made. Fun to see Eileen informing you of where you're allowed to walk.
Thank you for the lovely tour of your trees and garden. It put the location of the cabin in perspective for us too in relation to the rest of the area around your home. Love how everything is so green! I'm a tree lover as well, and believe you can never have too many!
I love planting trees. ITT amazing how fast they grow. We got a lot in common. God bless you
Thank you for sharing with us your lovely, peaceful place and your delightful projects. It fills my heart with wonder and joy... helps me look for the ways I want to build wonder where I am. I live in Texas, and it's hard to grow things here, but I join you for quilting projects. And maybe I will take on the weeds between the flagstones in my own yard when the weather cools off.
You inspired me to take a walk around my yard and look at my trees. Only have 7 of them. They are doing well for 2 years old! Oaks and maples.
All the riches you are the steward of !!!Bravo!
What a beautiful garden. Your videos are so relaxing to listen to and watch. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise.
