You can't begin to imagine what seeing this Sci-Fi Horror Film was like for the first time unless you were there in 1979. The lines at Movie Theatres to see it were insanely long once word got out. Nothing like this was ever done before and nobody had seen anything like it. People were literally screaming when the Alien burst from Kane's chest. Then it went silent... nobody moved an inch, coughed, sneezed, or got up for any reason. You could hear a pin drop until the end scene then the audience cheered! The Alien moving in slow motion towards Lambert to finish her off...riveting! The special effects way ahead of their time! The brave went back to see it more than once! A good many of the rest of us felt like we should have been in Therapy.
epic, iconic film. I remember the stories of my mother who, as a child, prevented me from seeing it, I waited years and after seeing it I will never be able to forget the feeling of unease, of disgust, especially for Lambert's death. Giger's almost pornographic touch in creating the alien, and the deaths almost resemble rape. This masterpiece was released in 1979, and its greatness has never been dented by any film of its genre.
I could not agree more, I saw this every evening for the first week with different mates, and read the original script, also popped over to Shepperton studio and saw how the face worked, bloody brilliant.
I was 11. I HATED horror movies. I STILL hate horror movies. My wicked older sister took me. I had no idea it was a horror movie. I may as well have been ON the Nostromo...
One of the best legends to ever grace the screen. She wouldn't be half the legend without the rest of the crew.. especially with Veronica Cartwright's ability to play as perfectly the stressed out character and Koto's strong male slightly schovenist role.. she handled them perfectly!
Alien and Carpenters "The Thing" are the best Sci-Fi Horror movies of all time. I walked out of the theater in stunned silence. I have the DVD's and rewatched them several times.
Do you mean the part where the filming technician controls the smoke and light as Ripley runs towards him? ..point 1h 35min in the theatrical version. In the Directors Cut version, this is almost completely cut out. Also right after, where Ridley Scott runs with a handheld camera towards Sigourney Weaver/Ripley when she's going up the stairs is also funny. The moment can be found in the theatrical version at the 1h 35min point and in the Directors Cut version at around the 1h 39min point.
@@allsortofmovies 1h35 point in theatrical version is completely filled with Ripley turning the coolant back on. theres no scene in the whole 1h35 segment of the film where she's running anywhere
@@TheAngmarwitch It should be roughly on that 1h35, after Ripley has tried to stop self destruction, she start to run back to the shuttle. That filming technician can be seen, weaving board behind the bright light, when Ripley is running and turning left. After that Ripley is running for the ladders and stop. Ridley Scott rushes in with the camera and crashes into him. Before Ripley climbs the ladder, she looks at the camera, surprised by the collision.
There is a documentary named memory origins of Alien in which they show how the alien movie originated. The alien concept was derived from existing movies and things we fear.
My idea for an Alien5 movie is as follows: It takes place after alien4 and takes places on an earth in ruins. TheRipleyClone has transformed into an entity that is producing eggs, and a lot of humans are affected, and a war breaks out. They have to use a nuke on the swarms of xenomorphs and decidedes to travel to the planet where they think the xenomorphs orginate from. There they find there are multiple forms of xenomorphs. They manages to form a clone of a xenomorph that is able to communicate with the the help of a microship surgerized into its brain. After this a peace is established. But as allways Weyland-Yutani has spies that want the xenomorph for their biological weapon program. And it is a surprice who the spy is. And that Weyland-Yutami has a lab on a spacestation not far from the xenomorph planet. Where they finds forms of xenomorphs that noone has seen before. And that's makes a cliffhanger for a possible Alien6 movie ?

Alien? I thought it was a politician could've fooled me
1979 "ALIEN" 45 years ago and a legend was born "RIPLEY" "IN SPACE, NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM"

Just when I thought I'd seen all the cut scenes! Very well edited 👍
While I think the movie was almost perfectly cut, I am glad we have the cut scenes. They're very interesting!
Director Ridley Scott has definitely made one of the best sci-fi thrillers.
This is the best version honestly. If they kept that concept It would of made the alien more foreign like
Oh dear god, the alien face seeing from inside the helmet looks awful. Glad it got reshooted.
Thanks for the awesome videos ❤
Great Movie, a trend setter.
Top movies:
1. Alien

Lambert's death probably hit Ripley harder than I tough.
I saw all of the movies 🍿
Suspense !
bravo.
Apparently the engine injection scene was filmed with water flowing.
Será un clásico for ever
What was all that “I’m tired of talking” at the end though 👀
👽
this doesnt have the scene where Ripley gets into the space suit...
How did the overgrown bug know to get on the escape shuttle?
I think it was looking for a place to sleep.
3:31...who is that...Lambert
That's Brett.
I just don't understand why it was stuck in the machinery in the shuttle ?
It was sleeping until she hit it with hot steam.
In Aliens i believe Ripley said that everyone died in 24 hours, so how did the Alien cocoon Dallas and Brett in that time.?
Dallas: Heeeeeeeeeeeelp meeeeeeeeeeeee. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiipleyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
When the alien looked at The cat in The box😮 hitting the box it realized it was time for it to go😢 the alien was learning😢

Best B movie ever made. The rest is Alien$.
B MOVIe? What do you mean ?
