Agree, i played back in 2005 on my friends gamecube. I was so freakin in love with this game, after a year or so i got the chance to buy that for my ps2 but it was graphicly bad. Gamecube looked way better.

Agreed, but I really like that it demonstrate to people who may only have the PS4 that is really not a terrible option, they're not missing out on as much as the marketing and tech geeks make it seem. It's certainly good looking enough that two of the biggest graphics tech geeks in the world didn't even notice such a glaring difference between the versions without literally doing a side by side comparison.
@@Crimsongz I agree they're awful, but at full speed, unless you're pixel peeping, you won't hardly notice. Hell I played the demo on my PC, and I saw lots of those janky ass textures too. Even with an R7 5800X, 32 gigs RAM, and a RTX 3070 Ti I couldn't put texture quality above like 'high (1GB)' without getting crashes to desktop and D3D errors unless I turned all the other graphical settings down. This game is a VRAM hog and I'm not entirely sure why. I was using all 8 gigs of VRAM anytime I crossed the loading seam as I entered the first shack. It never dipped below 60fps at 1080P, I would just get a hard crash if I used too much VRAM.
@@ISetYourFaceOnFire I agree it should've been 12, but I play at 1080p most of the time. 8GB should be plenty. RE4 Remake uses more VRAM than any game I've ever seen. It's ridiculous how much it uses. At 1080p I've not had any game use up all 8 gigs. But RE4R is frequently pushing past 12gigs without even maxing out settings!
Thank you for talking about controller issues. It's a problem that plagues some of my favourite games and it's not brought up enough. People will complain about a game like Wolfenstein 2 or Crysis remastered, saying it "doesn't feel right", knowing something is wrong, but not specifically what the problem is. Adjustable deadzones need to be more widely adopted into games.
I am curious. On what platform did you play Wolfenstein 2? I got both games on PS4 and didn't notice any issues but on Xbox, I noticed the deadzone in RE right away.
@@BlackAera I played W2 on xbox. I have hundreds of hours in it and beat it on mein leben. But even now I’ll die in stupid ways because I can’t make fine aiming adjustments. Doom 2016 was also not great. Doom eternal fixed things tho. I should probably point, non of these are as bad as crysis remastered. That was awful.
Halo and CoD are the only FPS I've been able to enjoy with controller. Likely because of the aim assist of course. But still I've noticed many games where it is so difficult to make fine movements that I just gave up on them.

Man, I LOVED this on Gamecube! I seem to remember not being able to afford a separate memory card so I couldn't save my game and I just played the opening over and over until I got some memory the week after. Only just realised it's coming to series X. Happy days.
I am taking next Friday off to play RE4:Remake and this is making me even more excited. Capcom looks to have knocked this out of the park. The original blew me away on the Gamecube, and then again on Xbox One, and was an entirely new experience in VR. I haven't been this excited for a game since Code Veronica on the Dreamcast. I have ordered the deluxe edition so I can rock the casual versions of Leon and Ashley. Thanks for making this let's play comparison. I could hear you guys talk about games all day.
This is probably the best demo since MGS2 Tanker demo on PS2, it actually has replayability , awesome work capcom, great way to get us fans excited and actually sell more copies. Developers should take note.
It's also one of the few modern games that looks great on a 1080p monitor, and it's not a blurry mess, it shows that it's possible to use TAA and have a sharp image.

I'm almost 30 and barely have time to play video games nowadays, but I feel giddy like a kid waiting for this release. I even put in for that Friday and Monday off work just to relive the magic I felt when I played the original as a teenager.
3:47 that weird lighting on the PS5 hair strands is due to the use of SSAO ambient occlusion, on pc we usually use FidelityFX CACAO as ambient occlusion and that looks better, but if you switch to SSAO on pc, you will see that the hair strands looks similar to PS5 Lighting
yeah they're investigation isnt as thorough in this one it seems they even completely miss the fact there is no xbox one version when they bring up they haven't tried it there yet as well as other things

Series X looks a lot cleaner and sharp. Whereas Ps5 looks fuzzy and soft. I believe this to be a bug issue and will most likely be fixed on release date. Will be getting this on ps5 for VR content
This is fascinating to me, I spend so much time attempting to optimize my games- trying to find the sweet spot between solid FPS and high image quality… looking forward to the DF breakdown after this game comes out.
The base Xbox One version of the game is definitely worse because it doesn’t exist. I’ve also encountered some odd issue with “D3D Fatal Error” in the demo. I’m running an RTX 3080 and a 5900x with 32 gb of RAM and I could not run the game with ray-tracing. It would simply crash after five minutes. Some people were saying they resolved the issue by lowering the in-game VRAM count.
same here on a laptop RTX 3070 (130 watt one). It runs just fine on maxed out settings without raytracing, but with raytracing it crashes just in front of the hunter's lodge

I was playing on ps4. The first portion of it was quite easy but the horde of enemies that are thrown at you on the last part was quite tough , overall I'd say it wasn't that bad in terms of difficulty

@@iedutul1 Textures aren't everything. Keep in mind the high level of detail on the characters, the godrays, the lighting system, there are a lot of things here that seem well beyond PS4 capabilities, but there are some sore spots, like the textures.
The laughing from Alex after the 11:27 commentary is honestly priceless, he's realizing that is WORST than the worst case scenario and realizing he's missed this is honestly so fun, I adore this guy's having a good time playing games, it saved my whole day.
Playing it on the PS5 and PC back to back and noticing the resolution and texture details are sharper on the PC. PC with an RTX4090 with everything at max settings this game looks brilliant. Will be playing on both platforms PS5 for my trophy completion run.

You really missed out on the strange Series S bug where the textures change from low res to high res constantly. Hope it will get fixed and you will review the Series S version when the game is out.
It's odd they are not doing an Xbox one version. It's clearly possible @30fps and maybe slightly lower resolution. The Xbox one still has an install base of about 50million and resident evil titles always sold well on it.

The benefits of the expanded VRR window on Xbox, and mouse aiming on PC were mentioned, but no mention of the Dual Sense features on PS5 being well integrated was a disappointment. It's easily the best platform benefit of the 3 for me, the way the haptics make you feel like the shaky bridge might break on you, the radio coming through the speaker, etc are A+ execution.
I was a little sceptical about the prospects of an RE4 remake before but this demo really sold me on the game, I looking forward to it quite a bit now.

I think the last time we had RE equivalent settings was from RE2 and that was missing a few settings. Games, 2 years into the platform's lives, relying on VRR to make its frame rates "acceptable" seems crazy to me. Are Capcom just unwilling to roll off the settings to make it lock to 60? This sort of thing just makes me think that 3rd parties know a hardware refresh is coming.
the xsx version is clearly better in terms of image quality ... the framerate is on the other hand much lower than the ps5 version .. the ps5 version is clearly not up to the task and it is absolutely not justified .
After playing Devil May Cry a few days, i already love the RE4 demo. It shows interesting stuff. Tip: brightnes not too low, so the engine can shine. Just correct. If your telly isn't calibrated, take the movie preset. The 'unatractive' tone a first, will display light and shadows as correct as possible. Each tv brand has a 'calibrated' movie preset that might be different per brand, but ultimately, always beats all other presets. As its not about a popping image, but a realistic, non-distract8ng one. Youll see it after a whilee. Im playing with a friend cause i know i will get scared at one point. At first, thinking the knive is Clunky, then realising, if i shoot two bullets at an enemy, i can aim the knife straight at the face, delivering the final blow.
I feel that the guys are a little unfair with the PS4 version, lol.... I mean, it's a 10 years old machine and still, this game is similar to the current gen. It's simply the low settings of the same game, by no means we do see a generation leap here again, as we have used in all other generations. Remember the graphics on PS3 and these we saw immediately on PS4...now we are just looking the textures and shadows.
It’s crazy how games like this can still get released on last-gen consoles - and actually look GOOD. If you’re a PS4/Xbox One owner you’ve gotten almost a decade of support for a $300-400 investment.
You can really tell how many corners Capcom cut to get this game running on PS4. It makes me curious about how they’ll handle the PS4 version of Street Fighter 6. Also, there is no Xbox One version.

I played this on my brother's PS4 Slim, my family doesn't have a lot of money so we won't be buying a PS5 anytime soon, that's why I'm really excited that this game will be released on the old PS4 in case I don't I couldn't even play. I know it's not as good as the PS5 version but I'm glad I can at least play it, this game made my childhood.
Playing this on a Series X and LG CX OLED and thought it felt a bit off in terms of controller response when compared to the Resident Evil 2 & 3 remakes. Hopefully Capcom get this sorted or patched in time for release
@@skyejoiner it’s strange, I don’t know if it’s a delay but it doesn’t feel as fast or responsive as the remakes of 2&3, it just feels off in a way, but only slightly, but enough that before watching the Digital Foundry video I felt it was different compared to 2&3. I can’t describe what the difference or “off” is though. I initially thought that as it’s just a different Resident Evil to 2&3 then that must be what it is, different game and different feel. Now they’ve said something about it then there might be more to it or something technically off that Capcom has to address or fix
You're not alone. RE8 also had this issue. It had high dead zones, and square input pattern, meaning precise aiming was impossible. I has to use an elite controller, and tweak the dead zones manually.

I literally bought a gamecube back in the day for this single game. And boy was I not disappointed. Because of that, I managed to play other games on the system like metroid prime, all the original resident evil games up to this one on one system, making the gamecube my most loved console of all time.
You know I thought it felt weird when I played the demo. I get roughly 80-100 fps in the demo and I could feel those "traversal stutters" quite a bit, and my system isn't close to a 12900k and a 4090 so it was probably hitting me a bit worse. I also felt a bit of odd jitter when walking to the side. Almost like the camera wasn't catch up.
Could a 4090 get RE4R running at a rock solid 120fps + Raytracing in native 4K? I think it's hilarious, that turning on Leon's Hair Strand option reduces the frame rate by 10fps, at least on consoles. His hair looks weird, almost anime, and a little too fancy like that anyways. It's almost grey in colour depending on the lighting.
@@_CrimsonBlade No reason to complain when you've got a 4090. ;) Super expensive, once you've got the entire rig up and running, but in the end you don't have to make sacrifices like you do with the PS5, by having to deal with 50fps with RT & Resolution turned on(I stick with HDR, performance mode, No RT and hair strands turned off for RE4R on PS5, to hit a locked 60fps) where as with a 4090 you can achieve 120fps, RT & Dynamic 4K for RE4R. I've seen it running at 120, and it's night and day compared to 60. $5000 CAD later, and you can have the following above, if you value motion, RT, resolution and not having to deal with any compromises with core visuals. To each their own! The option is there.
On series x, stand still then open and close your inventory a couple of times. You'll notice that textures in the background will go low rez and then load back to normal.
That's prob a good thing. Series X and PS5 will struggle with any new, high stress games that push graphics. Anything devs can do to give you decent performance is good. PC boys waiting for PS6/Series Y so we can get games that don't get kneecapped by consoles lol

Yea I noticed the controls in RE4R demo on the Xbox series X where very unresponsive and heavy. After playing the demo a few times and going back to the Dead Space Remake the controls on that game are so responsive, fluent and snappy. Let’s hope that the controls get ironed out on the Xbox cuss I already bought it on that console 😬
@Jamie Robert outside of the control issues it seems to be a very good remake from what i played. Though I wonder how these issues with the xbox controls made it past testing
A few things that I noticed. The resolution on Xbox looks much better than on PS5. Whenever you zoom in, the Xbox. Session looks noticeably sharper. Also, there are performance issues on all platforms. Someone should ask Capcom if they played the game in Resolution mode with all the options turned on. This is Performance mode with RT turned on, hair off.
We will have to wait the final version to see. Image quality on PS5 has problems and framerate on all consoles in not good. Let's hope they will be fixed, especially with the PS5 version that seems to be a bug with image quality, RT reflections.
Played this demo on PC but it amazes me that the PS5 version has similar graphics options to PC. That's actually really cool and should be the standard for consoles.

Dedicated developers still proving time and time again that conventional methods are still the best due to lower performance impact as long as they get to put the time needed into development. Love it.
I played the demo on PC and I was pretty blown away. I'm personally no fan of this remake/reboot era and wished studios would wow us again with new games and new IP's. BUT, this remake was awesome, it played amazing, it looked fantastic, the sound was excellent and I loved the vibe. The only thing I do still prefer in the OG was the voice acting and tone it had, although they definitely come close in the remake and don't make it TOO serious and still keep the camp. But the demo was extremely well done, the build up was great, that fight against the villagers was intense and epic af, and it ended on that classic line they KEPT!! Even though RE3 remake was, besides that opening, pretty trash, they nailed it with this one imo and Capcon really is one of the best AAA gaming companies around atm and really seem to care and put their heart into the games they make. Also seeing this vid, I'm surprised how amazing the PS4 version looks. Wow, that RE: Engine is really something.

At 20,40 seconds they say they have not tested the base Xbox version but expect it to be similar or worse to the ps4 version....err guys it is not out on the Xbox One, jus the Series systems.

When I played on both Series X and PS5 I noticed a bit more muddiness on the ps5 version outdoors. Otherwise looked pretty much the same and felt the same as well I think the PS5 does run a little lower resolution based on my eyes but who knows

Hi John, the extremely low res textures showing on PS4 is in fact a texture-loading issue. those awful looking textures need more time to fully load the "correct/intended" resolution. it can take way longer than you might think (try staring/being afk in front of them for up to over 1 minute, don't give up, the texture will load eventually i promise you). i know this because i play on PS4 and have tested it many times on countless awful looking textures i came across😆
@UnrealStutterEngine I play on a 4080 at 4K and get 70+ FPS when my max refresh rate is 120. So no, I would like upscaling. Besides that, Alex has pointed out in multiple games now that DLSS Quality is better than Native with TAA, both because DLSS cleans up the image and provides AA. So shush.
@UnrealStutterEngine If you can see ghosting then you're either playing a game with a horrible DLSS implementation, very old DLSS version, or you play at 1080p which is like, yea why bother with DLSS anyways. I've replaced every DLSS version in like 10+ games so far with DLSS 2.5.1. Ghostwire Tokyo, Hifi Rush, Hogwarts Legacy and tons more. Ghosting is non existent on Quality or balanced modes. Youre just making shit up now lol.

This is why I dont argue with folks on UA-cam lmao Yes, Cuberpunk had some issues with its DLSS implementation but was on the whole very worth it for the FPS gain. The version you’re referring to is like 2.2. Many if not all those issues were corrected with later iterations. 2.5.1 is by far the best and most stable version. Download DLSS swapper and try it out.
10:00 shouldn't the PS5 have an advantage over PC here because of the extremely fast SSD transfer speeds? At least that what Mark Cerny was talking about in the PS5 hardware reveal.
I think another thing that wasn't mentioned here is how static Leon's face is during some of his death animations. But again this demo is probably from quite a while ago and it's probably been fixed by now.

Some of the child like chuckles at the PS4 textures ...like spoilt brats with their 4090s and Top tier set ups...it's a bit of a piss take towards folk who only have a PS4 or Xbox One ...people who would love newer gear but prioritise life and family over the latest tech as maybe they can't afford it? For stability, Capcom should have probably just went with 30 fps on PS4, and used the extra frames to improve the textures. But that said looks great on all consoles (PS4 included).

Agreed, but I really like that it demonstrate to people who may only have the PS4 that is really not a terrible option, they're not missing out on as much as the marketing and tech geeks make it seem. It's certainly good looking enough that two of the biggest graphics tech geeks in the world didn't even notice such a glaring difference between the versions without literally doing a side by side comparison.

@@Crimsongz I agree they're awful, but at full speed, unless you're pixel peeping, you won't hardly notice. Hell I played the demo on my PC, and I saw lots of those janky ass textures too. Even with an R7 5800X, 32 gigs RAM, and a RTX 3070 Ti I couldn't put texture quality above like 'high (1GB)' without getting crashes to desktop and D3D errors unless I turned all the other graphical settings down. This game is a VRAM hog and I'm not entirely sure why. I was using all 8 gigs of VRAM anytime I crossed the loading seam as I entered the first shack. It never dipped below 60fps at 1080P, I would just get a hard crash if I used too much VRAM.

It's ridiculous how much it uses. At 1080p I've not had any game use up all 8 gigs. But RE4R is frequently pushing past 12gigs without even maxing out settings!
Thank you for talking about controller issues. It's a problem that plagues some of my favourite games and it's not brought up enough. People will complain about a game like Wolfenstein 2 or Crysis remastered, saying it "doesn't feel right", knowing something is wrong, but not specifically what the problem is. Adjustable deadzones need to be more widely adopted into games.
I am curious. On what platform did you play Wolfenstein 2? I got both games on PS4 and didn't notice any issues but on Xbox, I noticed the deadzone in RE right away.
@@BlackAera I played W2 on xbox. I have hundreds of hours in it and beat it on mein leben. But even now I’ll die in stupid ways because I can’t make fine aiming adjustments. Doom 2016 was also not great. Doom eternal fixed things tho. I should probably point, non of these are as bad as crysis remastered. That was awful.
There is a video for the camera acceleration fix for controllers by EnemyCarePackge. It fixes the issue mostly.
Halo and CoD are the only FPS I've been able to enjoy with controller. Likely because of the aim assist of course. But still I've noticed many games where it is so difficult to make fine movements that I just gave up on them.

I am taking next Friday off to play RE4:Remake and this is making me even more excited. Capcom looks to have knocked this out of the park. The original blew me away on the Gamecube, and then again on Xbox One, and was an entirely new experience in VR. I haven't been this excited for a game since Code Veronica on the Dreamcast. I have ordered the deluxe edition so I can rock the casual versions of Leon and Ashley.

This is probably the best demo since MGS2 Tanker demo on PS2, it actually has replayability , awesome work capcom, great way to get us fans excited and actually sell more copies. Developers should take note.
It's also one of the few modern games that looks great on a 1080p monitor, and it's not a blurry mess, it shows that it's possible to use TAA and have a sharp image.
One of the best demo i played in a very long time. So much details, secrets and gameplay mechanics.

3:47 that weird lighting on the PS5 hair strands is due to the use of SSAO ambient occlusion, on pc we usually use FidelityFX CACAO as ambient occlusion and that looks better, but if you switch to SSAO on pc, you will see that the hair strands looks similar to PS5 Lighting

Series X looks a lot cleaner and sharp. Whereas Ps5 looks fuzzy and soft. I believe this to be a bug issue and will most likely be fixed on release date. Will be getting this on ps5 for VR content

This is fascinating to me, I spend so much time attempting to optimize my games- trying to find the sweet spot between solid FPS and high image quality… looking forward to the DF breakdown after this game comes out.
The base Xbox One version of the game is definitely worse because it doesn’t exist.
I’ve also encountered some odd issue with “D3D Fatal Error” in the demo. I’m running an RTX 3080 and a 5900x with 32 gb of RAM and I could not run the game with ray-tracing. It would simply crash after five minutes. Some people were saying they resolved the issue by lowering the in-game VRAM count.
same here on a laptop RTX 3070 (130 watt one). It runs just fine on maxed out settings without raytracing, but with raytracing it crashes just in front of the hunter's lodge

I was playing on ps4. The first portion of it was quite easy but the horde of enemies that are thrown at you on the last part was quite tough , overall I'd say it wasn't that bad in terms of difficulty

@@iedutul1 Textures aren't everything. Keep in mind the high level of detail on the characters, the godrays, the lighting system, there are a lot of things here that seem well beyond PS4 capabilities, but there are some sore spots, like the textures.

Playing it on the PS5 and PC back to back and noticing the resolution and texture details are sharper on the PC.
PC with an RTX4090 with everything at max settings this game looks brilliant.
Will be playing on both platforms PS5 for my trophy completion run.

The benefits of the expanded VRR window on Xbox, and mouse aiming on PC were mentioned, but no mention of the Dual Sense features on PS5 being well integrated was a disappointment. It's easily the best platform benefit of the 3 for me, the way the haptics make you feel like the shaky bridge might break on you, the radio coming through the speaker, etc are A+ execution.
There is no single video game in which chromatic aberration improves the image, it's like the option to make the game look worse for no reason.
I was a little sceptical about the prospects of an RE4 remake before but this demo really sold me on the game, I looking forward to it quite a bit now.
Great video! I liked the format. I hope when the game comes out we finally get Console equivalent settings on PC from Alex, who always does a great job at that. I think the last time we had RE equivalent settings was from RE2 and that was missing a few settings. Those settings would be very helpful, even the PS4 ones, which textures seem to be low and the shadows... LOL

Games, 2 years into the platform's lives, relying on VRR to make its frame rates "acceptable" seems crazy to me. Are Capcom just unwilling to roll off the settings to make it lock to 60? This sort of thing just makes me think that 3rd parties know a hardware refresh is coming.
the xsx version is clearly better in terms of image quality ... the framerate is on the other hand much lower than the ps5 version .. the ps5 version is clearly not up to the task and it is absolutely not justified .

After playing Devil May Cry a few days, i already love the RE4 demo.
It shows interesting stuff.
Tip: brightnes not too low, so the engine can shine. Just correct.
If your telly isn't calibrated, take the movie preset.
The 'unatractive' tone a first, will display light and shadows as correct as possible.
Each tv brand has a 'calibrated' movie preset that might be different per brand, but ultimately, always beats all other presets.
As its not about a popping image, but a realistic, non-distract8ng one.
Youll see it after a whilee.
Im playing with a friend cause i know i will get scared at one point.
At first, thinking the knive is Clunky, then realising, if i shoot two bullets at an enemy, i can aim the knife straight at the face, delivering the final blow.
I feel that the guys are a little unfair with the PS4 version, lol....
I mean, it's a 10 years old machine and still, this game is similar to the current gen.
It's simply the low settings of the same game, by no means we do see a generation leap here again, as we have used in all other generations.
Remember the graphics on PS3 and these we saw immediately on PS4...now we are just looking the textures and shadows.

Playing this on a Series X and LG CX OLED and thought it felt a bit off in terms of controller response when compared to the Resident Evil 2 & 3 remakes. Hopefully Capcom get this sorted or patched in time for release

@@skyejoiner it’s strange, I don’t know if it’s a delay but it doesn’t feel as fast or responsive as the remakes of 2&3, it just feels off in a way, but only slightly, but enough that before watching the Digital Foundry video I felt it was different compared to 2&3. I can’t describe what the difference or “off” is though. I initially thought that as it’s just a different Resident Evil to 2&3 then that must be what it is, different game and different feel. Now they’ve said something about it then there might be more to it or something technically off that Capcom has to address or fix
You're not alone.
RE8 also had this issue. It had high dead zones, and square input pattern, meaning precise aiming was impossible. I has to use an elite controller, and tweak the dead zones manually.

I literally bought a gamecube back in the day for this single game. And boy was I not disappointed. Because of that, I managed to play other games on the system like metroid prime, all the original resident evil games up to this one on one system, making the gamecube my most loved console of all time.
Knowing Sony, this Xbox "controls issue" will never get solved.
You know I thought it felt weird when I played the demo. I get roughly 80-100 fps in the demo and I could feel those "traversal stutters" quite a bit, and my system isn't close to a 12900k and a 4090 so it was probably hitting me a bit worse. I also felt a bit of odd jitter when walking to the side. Almost like the camera wasn't catch up.
Could a 4090 get RE4R running at a rock solid 120fps + Raytracing in native 4K?
I think it's hilarious, that turning on Leon's Hair Strand option reduces the frame rate by 10fps, at least on consoles. His hair looks weird, almost anime, and a little too fancy like that anyways. It's almost grey in colour depending on the lighting.
Yes, for camera to feel right you need 120-130+ fps on high refresh rate screen which is... Weird. 90 or 95+ should feel like that

No reason to complain when you've got a 4090. ;) Super expensive, once you've got the entire rig up and running, but in the end you don't have to make sacrifices like you do with the PS5, by having to deal with 50fps with RT & Resolution turned on(I stick with HDR, performance mode, No RT and hair strands turned off for RE4R on PS5, to hit a locked 60fps)
where as with a 4090 you can achieve 120fps, RT & Dynamic 4K for RE4R. I've seen it running at 120, and it's night and day compared to 60. $5000 CAD later, and you can have the following above, if you value motion, RT, resolution and not having to deal with any compromises with core visuals. To each their own! The option is there.

You could make a video explaining all this terminology. It's hard to follow.
On series x, stand still then open and close your inventory a couple of times. You'll notice that textures in the background will go low rez and then load back to normal.
That's prob a good thing. Series X and PS5 will struggle with any new, high stress games that push graphics. Anything devs can do to give you decent performance is good.

Yea I noticed the controls in RE4R demo on the Xbox series X where very unresponsive and heavy. After playing the demo a few times and going back to the Dead Space Remake the controls on that game are so responsive, fluent and snappy. Let’s hope that the controls get ironed out on the Xbox cuss I already bought it on that console 😬

A few things that I noticed. The resolution on Xbox looks much better than on PS5. Whenever you zoom in, the Xbox. Session looks noticeably sharper. Also, there are performance issues on all platforms. Someone should ask Capcom if they played the game in Resolution mode with all the options turned on. This is Performance mode with RT turned on, hair off.
We will have to wait the final version to see.
Image quality on PS5 has problems and framerate on all consoles in not good. Let's hope they will be fixed, especially with the PS5 version that seems to be a bug with image quality, RT reflections.
On PS5 controls feels great, specially with the Dualsense features.
I agree except for during combat, where they definitely felt too heavy and slow for me.
i didn't even know it was coming out to PS4, i'm very impress by it, looking at normal village gameplay here i didn't even notice when was PS4/PS5.
Personally recommend to play it on XSX with connected Dualsense. Wonderful experience
The PS4 Pro has a 4k30 mode that looks really good in motion.

Played this demo on PC but it amazes me that the PS5 version has similar graphics options to PC. That's actually really cool and should be the standard for consoles.

You cannot compare ps5 to pc because it hasn't even been released yet. Meanwhile PS5 eats 95% of consumer pcs for breakfast in both performance and loading speeds hahaha
Dedicated developers still proving time and time again that conventional methods are still the best due to lower performance impact as long as they get to put the time needed into development. Love it.
I played the demo on PC and I was pretty blown away. I'm personally no fan of this remake/reboot era and wished studios would wow us again with new games and new IP's. BUT, this remake was awesome, it played amazing, it looked fantastic, the sound was excellent and I loved the vibe. The only thing I do still prefer in the OG was the voice acting and tone it had, although they definitely come close in the remake and don't make it TOO serious and still keep the camp. But the demo was extremely well done, the build up was great, that fight against the villagers was intense and epic af, and it ended on that classic line they KEPT!!
Even though RE3 remake was, besides that opening, pretty trash, they nailed it with this one imo and Capcon really is one of the best AAA gaming companies around atm and really seem to care and put their heart into the games they make.
Also seeing this vid, I'm surprised how amazing the PS4 version looks. Wow, that RE: Engine is really something.

At 20,40 seconds they say they have not tested the base Xbox version but expect it to be similar or worse to the ps4 version....err guys it is not out on the Xbox One, jus the Series systems.

2. XSX higher resolution over PS5 on performance mode (1440p vs 1728p).
3. Less stuttering on XSX using VRR.
4. Slighly more input lag on XSX? I didn't noticed anything myself.
When I played on both Series X and PS5 I noticed a bit more muddiness on the ps5 version outdoors. Otherwise looked pretty much the same and felt the same as well I think the PS5 does run a little lower resolution based on my eyes but who knows
One of the few times where the Series X version is better (by just a bit) then the PS5 version. I have it preordered for my Series X

I don’t understand why people prefer a locked 30 fps over a hovering 45-55 fps instead. Yes, it’s not 60 fps but it’s still more easy on the eyes not to mention more responsive than 30 fps will ever be!
Many will prefer a locked framerate to an inconsistent one that jumps around. Especially if it's causing noticeable tearing.
Hi John, the extremely low res textures showing on PS4 is in fact a texture-loading issue. those awful looking textures need more time to fully load the "correct/intended" resolution. it can take way longer than you might think (try staring/being afk in front of them for up to over 1 minute, don't give up, the texture will load eventually i promise you). i know this because i play on PS4 and have tested it many times on countless awful looking textures i came across😆

If you wait seven years staring at the blurry texture, it will eventually load. Trust me. Don't give up.

@UnrealStutterEngine I play on a 4080 at 4K and get 70+ FPS when my max refresh rate is 120. So no, I would like upscaling. Besides that, Alex has pointed out in multiple games now that DLSS Quality is better than Native with TAA, both because DLSS cleans up the image and provides AA. So shush.
@UnrealStutterEngine If you can see ghosting then you're either playing a game with a horrible DLSS implementation, very old DLSS version, or you play at 1080p which is like, yea why bother with DLSS anyways. I've replaced every DLSS version in like 10+ games so far with DLSS 2.5.1. Ghostwire Tokyo, Hifi Rush, Hogwarts Legacy and tons more. Ghosting is non existent on Quality or balanced modes. Youre just making shit up now lol.

Yes, Cuberpunk had some issues with its DLSS implementation but was on the whole very worth it for the FPS gain. The version you’re referring to is like 2.2. Many if not all those issues were corrected with later iterations. 2.5.1 is by far the best and most stable version. Download DLSS swapper and try it out.
10:00 shouldn't the PS5 have an advantage over PC here because of the extremely fast SSD transfer speeds? At least that what Mark Cerny was talking about in the PS5 hardware reveal.
At 30:53 while Leon is reloading the gun, you can see his left arm going crazy bugged. Is easyer to see if you change the video's velocity to 0.25
I think another thing that wasn't mentioned here is how static Leon's face is during some of his death animations. But again this demo is probably from quite a while ago and it's probably been fixed by now.

Some of the child like chuckles at the PS4 textures ...like spoilt brats with their 4090s and Top tier set ups...it's a bit of a piss take towards folk who only have a PS4 or Xbox One ...people who would love newer gear but prioritise life and family over the latest tech as maybe they can't afford it?
These guys need to remember that not everyone is in the positions of Alex and John...and I am sure they get some of their gear free?

One issue I had on PC was the Shadow Cache feature. It improved my FPS a lot but it also made camera movement stutter a LOT.

For stability, Capcom should have probably just went with 30 fps on PS4, and used the extra frames to improve the textures. But that said looks great on all consoles (PS4 included).
