Let's all remember that regardless of tiers and lists, every character in this game is equally capable in battle. Use your favorites and don't let the fact that Ganondorf and Marin can sweep entire rooms in one move kill your joy.
True. At a high enough level, every character is capable of dealing hundreds of damage per hit. Tingle actually wouldn’t be on my ‘worst character list’ because some of his combos are downright hilarious! Lol!
OK, not gonna lie, I kinda disagree with the Fire Rods placement. Does it really have only one good combo? Yes. However, the two things it can do, clear out a massive amount of enemies with the special attack and absolutely melt everything with the second combo, I'd say that it would be probably lower (or higher...?) on this list. Also, imo, Ruto and Darunia should be swapped
Having played the 3DS version, I don't think Ruto is that bad. Especially if you give her a Hasty attack weapon which helps mitigate her slow combos. In my experience, her tidal wave absolutely decimates bosses and captains. Especially with the ticking dot it puts on them afterwards.
I think to be completely fair, Hasty Attacks and other such skills shouldn’t be considered when comparing to others. Sure, her slower attacks come out faster but if we compare her to everyone one else with Hasty Attacks then we’re just back to square one. :)
Brandon Andres He said they weren’t put into consideration on his tier list, but some characters can still benefit with skills like Hasty Attack more than others. I wouldn’t exactly say you’d be back to square one
The only one I disagree with is Ruto, the only problem with her is that she’s slow, and leaves herself open way too much. She should’ve been 10 or 8. Darunia, is a bit better, but pretty bad. The Deku Stick is the most mediocre weapon in the game; only a few good combos, and takes way too long. The Magic/Fire Rod is just useless. Fi, is just meh. The only problem is that she feels so awkward to play as, and her Heavy Attack button is useless. Wizro, I’d argue should be WAY higher up, he could’ve been a interesting character, but he’s mostly useless. While his move set is indeed interesting, it just feels awkward and out of place in a hack and slash game. The only other one I disagree with is the Baton/Wind Waker. Sure, Zelda doesn’t move, but I really liked using it on the 3Ds version. The combos, aside from the 3rd one, are pretty good. The Heavy Attack button, while mostly situational, can do some crazy damage. The only real problem with it is that she doesn’t move, and feels awkward to play as. Tetra, is just missed potential. I get why they didn’t give her a bigger range; because she’s a smaller character and it wouldn’t really make sense. She would’ve easily been in the Top 10 Best Characters if her range and speed was even slightly better. I still enjoy using her. Tingle, is pretty bad. He’s slow, has pretty bad range, and only has 2 good combos. His heavy attack isn’t 100% useless, it can be used for weak points, but yeah. While Impa’s Blade wasn’t on the list, it definitely should’ve. It seemed really good at first, but it’s pretty damn bad. It just feels awkward. The only problems with Agitha is that her regular attack range is pretty damn bad, and she’s super slow. Also, it gets pretty repetitive using her 3rd or 4th combos and not getting on the Butterfly. If she was slightly faster, and had a bit better range, she wouldn’t feel as awkward. Toon Link just feels so awkward with his sword; I get they wanted to go for Wind Waker, but his range is trash, and he’s pretty slow.
As bad as the Deku Spear is, I'd choose it in a heartbeat over the Summoning Gate. Surprisingly low speed, combos that leave you completely vulnerable while performing them and that are nearly impossible to land accurately, and a gimmick dependant on luck that, when used successfully, only grants a marginal increase to the strength of the combo? No thank you.
TheLoZKing I don’t know if I’d call it a “marginal increase”, in some cases having the Strong Attack buff turns a good combo into a broken one, especially the Argorok combo. I will admit it’s a difficult weapon to adjust to but when mastered it’s potential is huge.
TheLoZKing she actually gets a ton of I-frames whenever she has the sphere around herself And most of her powered up combos have huge range and damage.
I'm glad you didn't include Agitha. But I do want to (peacefully) disagree with Lanas deku spear at the bottom. Because whenever I play with it, I destroy everything. But I will respect you opinion and let you move on.
Why's it even called a spear? It's not a spear! The weapon Volga uses, that's a spear. The thing that Lana swings around is a grass type staff, aka deku stick.
TheStupidRaptor At least it doesn’t break after one hit. Come to think of it, why didn’t they ever make use of the fact deku sticks made for good impromptu torches. Give it a fire effect of one random move, and at least it gets more utility.
I did. They run at the exact same speed. The Great Fairy will feel slower though because of how large she is and how pulled out the camera is but she isn't actually moving any slower than anyone else. This is something people have actually tested and no discernible difference in run speed was found in any character.
Darunia’s speed is KIND OF compensated by the fact that he is tied with Ganondorf for having the highest base attack power in the game. But then again..... come on. At least Ganon’s great swords have that insane VI combo. Darunia’s special attack couldn’t even come close to that.
Wow, I must be like, the only Baton fan :O I just spam strong attack + dodge to fish for whirlwinds, then grab a level 3 tornado and clutch everything. It's surprisingly fast at clearing spread out mobs.
Baton Zelda is my main. I really love the way the moveset feels. I've gotten the most 0 damage wins with the Baton too. Even more than the super high tier weapons like Sheik's Harp.
I know that the spear is mostly bad, but surprisingly enough, i remember using it while spamming the deku leaf's wind shot, and it did wonders, killing so many small enemies and filling the special bar. And i guess that the ice combo helped with damage for bigger enemies, but that doesn't save it from being repetittive.
Ruto's combos exist for one purpose: to fill her Strong Attack meter and then be cancelled at the earliest opportunity. The problem there is that her evade is a super lengthy animation. That said, her Strong Attack is _extremely_ effective once you learn to optimize meter gain, dealing truly massive damage to a huge area, and I've learned to have fun with the character as a result.
She's one of the characters I love using but I can understand being considered super bad. She doesn't have much in AOE, her range leaves much to be desired, her strong attack while interesting generally doesn't accomplish much, and her first combo applying the water affect actually destroys a lot of her juggling capabilities since if that ticks while they are being juggled it lets the enemy recover faster. I absolutely love playing as her though
I think a lot of people think less of Tetra because she needs to aim and space a little more carefully and she doesn't really have any "GET THE FUCK OFF OF ME" panic button attacks, since even her special requires aim. I definitely see people's points that she's got some weaknesses, but I think she stands head and shoulders above crap like Lana's not-spear and Impa's giant butterknife.
the spear for Lana at least keeps you moving around during the attack string, and her strong attack enders are significantly quicker than the Summoning Gate. While the Gate is cool to use, it's locks you in place far more often than the Baton. The only diff being is that you CAN launch much stronger attacks, but to do so requires luck and having no-one near you while you while trying to get the enhanced summon. The fact that the gate is nowhere on this list at all considering the other criteria used for the other entries (speed, attack movement, range of strings) I find this list more than questionable.
Honestly I found that Ruto with hasty attacks thrown on becomes a much better character. Her main string becomes a lot more reliable, she actually can combo off some of her earlier charges, she gets to her better ones like the tidal wave faster and they don't leave you vulnerable for as long, and she becomes pretty darn good against bosses. If you stop her main string just before the last hit it does a lot to most bosses weak point gauge, you can potentially get to that point twice with hasty attacks meaning you can drain the bar in one go potentially. It also makes her long range strong attack a bit more effective as that is sped up as well. Though it doesn't help her low damage output or general vulnerability too overly much in her later charges. Also I find Wizzro to be amazing at 1 on 1 fights. He can juggle enemies so easily. Though I dont have much fun with him myself
Ruto is pretty darn good against bosses even without Hasty Attacks. R6 -> dodge cancel -> String takes down pretty much every Giant Boss's WPG including Ganon's, and that's without Hasty Attacks. You just need to start early so you can lead with it. She's tied with King Daphnes for best water user in the game. Much the same actually applies to Lana's Spear, but she must go through the whole string up until she shatters the icicles before dodge cancelling, and she misses depleting Ganon's WPG without Hasty Attacks. Wizzro is probably up there with the Top 10 best. He's amazing in just about anything with the important exception of crowdclearing which he is absolutely terrible at.
Crowdclearing is a big part of the game you know... They expect you to get 1200-1500 Kos in 15 minutes in most missions... And what’s more is that while Wizzro’s good at killing single officers and bosses, if he gets surrounded, particularly by multiple officers that he can’t pick off in 2-3 hits, it tends to get very dicey very quickly.
10: It's a shame that Tetra's weapon isn't better. It's fun to play, but the terrible range is just a deal breaker. 9: As someone who plays Wizzro a lot, I don't think his lacking 1v1 combat is enough to put him on this list. He is the best boss killer hands down, and he's only average at dealing with hordes. That's much better than what Tetra offers. 8: She's OK, but other characters are better than her. 7: Not the worst character in the game, but Darunia should be a bit higher. He's really bad. 6: If you could dodge cancel her combos, she wouldn't even be on this list. At least you can Special cancel, but you shouldn't have to waste meter to do something everyone else can easily do. 5: I wouldn't know because I barely played him. I play Agitha more than him. 4: Ruto shouldn't be on this list or at least not this high. Her combos are alright at best, but I don't think the vulnerability of her heavy should be used against her when that's meant to be used for sniping and never in close or mid range. She also has a good boss killing attack (dodge cancel the 6th hit of her mash combo where she summons a symbol on the ground and a bunch of bubble appear). Do it twice and you got guaranteed weak point smash. It's no Wizzro boss killer, but it still works. 3: You call it the magic axe. The 4th combo is alright though. 2: Trash weapon. 1: I'd rather play this over the Baton. It's not good, but at least you aren't standing still while using it.
Ruto's pretty bad without hasty attacks. But with hasty attacks she's actually pretty good. With hasty attacks she's one of my favorite characters in the game. But her special attack is still best to ONLY use defensively. Offensively her special attack is complete garbage.
In my opinion, Wizzro is the worst in the game. He's slow, weak, and plays completely unlike everyone else in the game. His trap style COULD work, it's very interesting at least, but because his attacks are so stupidly weak, he just fails everything. If his traps actually DID SOMETHING, I could at least appreciate his moveset. His only good point is decimating Weak Point Gauges, but he's so weak the Smash barely does anything, and I just cannot enjoy playing as him. Whenever I'm forced into using him, I groan and just have absolutely no fun. He's not even interesting or cool, like the other villains, he's just "evil dark psycho sorcerer". Spear Lana is at least _Lana,_ I.E. a likeable character with a personality. And her fourth combo has actual power and decent range.
You're kidding, right? He's obscenely good at one-on-one, has a fuckton of super fast (and safe) ranged AoE and... oh yeah.. he utterly SHREDS every single giant boss in mere seconds.
I feel like what was said for Link's Magic Rod can also be said for Wizzro; he's got literally one good combo (the bullet-hell spin) which you need to spam over and over to be effective. He's annoying as a boss, and very boring to play as a character.
Okay, I know that this is a bit old and things have changed/the meta has changed, but I'm gonna add my two cents worth into this anyways: #1 Lana's spear isn't so bad if you make extensive use of dash-canceling attacks. If you get really good with this mechanic, you can end up chaining Deku Leaf/Slingshot hits in successions so rapid that she can fairly easily deal with most enemies in the game, aside from large bosses, while there is also a way of summoning three of those little Deku Kids to do a rushing-bounce attack, if done right, which can make for quite some good spacing. Her deku leaf attack also provides some pretty damned good mobility if you let her go airborn with it, and if you don't, then as I said earlier, you can dash-cancel that into several leaf-swings in a row to do some fairly reliable stun-locking on most bosses. #2 Darunia doesn't even really deserve to be on the list, for one big reason... He's got one of the best stun-locks in the game, if not THE best outside of characters with special or "bar-based" mechanics. Because IT'S A PSEUDO-GRAPPLE/THROW ATTACK that requires nothing other than for you to roll into your enemy while mashing B. Anything below Giant Boss status, when meeting up against his roll, is gathered up on top of him, taken along for the ride, then slammed with a palm at the end. While this might take a while, it makes him a COMPLETELY SAFE CHARACTER to use against bosses, so long as you distance yourself a bit once the move is completed instead of trying to corner-trap anything that isn't a minion. It's like bosses just don't really know how to HANDLE the move. Think of it like a none-bar-reliant version of Zant's spin-to-win, but with less damage.
agitha is easily one of the worst. the reason being with the exception of her first 2 combos she is complete trash compared to every other unit. this is also not to mention she has the worst range next to tingle in their normal attack strings but at least tingle has multiple combos that are good
I dunno if it's a more recent thing but sometimes I'll intentionally choose Wizzro FOR 1-1's against captains. I think there's a few who are immune like Shiek and Zant but generally if his C1 grabs, he can just stunlock commanders to death. There's few things more satisfying than giving Volga, one of the most annoying enemies, such an un-warriorlike end. Sure it's cheap and unfair but gotta admit, that's 100% in character for Wizzro.
I am wondering, could you do a video about the costume that were included in the base game, in the Hero of time Pack and in the Twilight pack? There is a few of them that actually kinda confuse me.
I hate the Dominion Rod, don't get me wrong it can do things, but it's one of those weapons that I never feel like I'm doing something intentionally and is just button mashing.
Tingle has a particular combo which is just broken... in Hyrule Warriors Legends. Pretty sure we can all agree Agatha is one of the worst though, (Standard Attack 2 had 0 range, just saying) The boss rush evidence you presented... meaningless, Agatha's standard special MISSES most enemies, but can still deal... good damage to Bosses. Edit: We can all agree that Young Link is just broken, and me and my best friend love him for that.
Tetra is actually great vs. mobs of weak enemies, despite her poor reach. The trick is to aim her pistol shots in a straight line at an entirely distinct group of enemies from the guys you're murdering with her cutlass right in front of you. The problem is, individual pistol shots won't kill weak mobs. You have to land all of the pistol shots from an attack on the same line of foes. Her fast attacks help make up for her lack of easy access to range, as well, and also make her excellent for dashing about the battlefield from objective to objective, cutting down key foes as she goes. As a duelist, Tetra is passable, but not spectacular. Without Water element, her attacks tend to drop combos, but _with_ Water element, there's an equal chance of gaining a confirm you wouldn't normally have gotten due to a well-timed flinch, or losing your combo due to a poorly-timed flinch allowing the foe to tech out when they wouldn't otherwise be able to.
Watching the gameplay of the Deku Spear, and my personal enjoyment of link’s Fire Rod, have inspired me to make a few pathfinder characters based on them. Thank you for a good video!
I saw two comments that say Ruto isn’t that bad. Personally, I agree. But before you guys get triggered, the magic word of these top “Best” and “Worst” Videos is “Opinion”. I don’t think she’s that bad. Sure, her first, and fourth combos are trash, her standard attack sucks, and her normal heavy attack leaves her open to attacks, every character at least has one good thing about them, even if they suck ass. Also, I agree that Lana’s Spear sucks. It’s most of its combos are god awful and only one is decent. Tingle isn’t that bad, Link’s Rod also sucks, but isn’t that bad, I love using Zelda’s Wind Waker because it’s just fun to play as even though the knock back problem, but personally, I’ve never encounter your issue with the Princess’s Baton.
As irritating as the Baton's lack of forward movement is, you gotta' admit, it's SUPER handy for those "you can only take one hit" challenges in adventure mode. Spamming Strong Attack = instant A rank. :)

When I first started playing this game and first unlocked the deku spear, my reaction was something similar to "A stick? Why would I give up my lightening geometry textbook for a goddamn stick? Pass." I guess I have a halfway decent intuition about shitty weapons.
I think I psyched myself into thinking some of these weapons aren't as bad as they actually are (namely the Baton) simply because I have to use them so often in the Adventure Mode maps. The less I'm forced to play a certain playstyle, and thus the less I'm familiar with attacks that suit me, the less I'm willing to accept their positive qualities, meaning I'm still sitting in the middle of my stupid world convinced that the Sand Rod, the Phantom Armor, and the Boots have no utility.
My least favorite is the Great Fairy because she's slow, huge, and unwieldy, and my favorite is Toon Link with the sword because he's fast, his strong attack is a jump, he's got lots of air juggles, and his 6 hit combo is powerful and fun to steer

Maybe we could get some other extra characters, like Linebeck or, heck, why not a genderbent Zelda like what we got with Linkle? Also if we could get Oracle DLC that'd be nice please and thank you
gameboy4064 BOTW has ALOT of variables in it, so a dlc for it would be difficult. Other games could provide more reliable dlc, as well as additional weapons for the existing games. Link gets the whip, young link gets a flute that uses the Oracle animals (with a halindrum map) toon link gets dopples (or the four sword) and new characters could be twinrova and vaati.
May Unnie the only logical character would have to be Urbosa the Gerudo champion. My reasoning is that it would have to be a character that had a major impact from the games story Link, Zelda, and even the king are in HW currently so who else is there. How about one of the champions to give them some recognition as a fighter. We already have a goron: Darunia, Zora: Ruto, and a Rito: Medli, but no Gerudo character except for Ganondorf but he was going to be playable from the start
Wow, very different from what I would have considered my 10 worst, originally I had some that low like Wizzro and Lana's Spear, but figuring out strategies and play styles with them boosted them on my tier list. I created a tier list a while back, placing everyone either in "Ultimate", "Top", "High", "Middle", and "Low" and I was surprised to find that only one weapon ended up in low while the vast majority were high or top tier. My bottom 10 (right now, still haven't played some of the latest characters since I didn't really get to play Legends and now I have the Definitive Edition). 10-7 are in high tier, 6-2 are in mid tier while 1 is low tier. 10. Tetra - same reasons you listed 9. Link's Gauntlets - has great regular attacks but the special attacks take too long and/or have poor range 8. Link's Hylian Sword - not bad in any way, just incredibly basic especially compared to majority of the other weapons 7. Impa Naginata - difficult to land hits and combo 6. Midna - very limited options, only S3 is really good, although S5 is unblockable and good for duels 5. Zelda Rapier - not great with crowd control and capturing keeps, great 1-v-1 though and fairly poor range 4. Link's Firerod - actually just dropped it due to your video and realizing how not amazing this weapon is (I originally had it top tier), S3 is really the only useful move, but S5 is still usable. 3. King Daphnes - slow, bulky, weak moves 2. Zant - can't spam moves, S1 to use the Insanity bar isn't that good, very long start up for majority of his attacks 1. Lana Summoning Gate - horrible regular attacks, relies on random chance to get the most out of the weapon. It's funny because I have weapons like the Windwaker Wand, as well as Wizzro (originally low), Ruto, and Fi as top tiers because I never had the issues you mentioned with them, Windwaker's S3 is amazing, her regular attacks don't push them away, they stun them, it's the strong attacks that push them away which is why I utilize S3 a lot since it holds them in place. Ruto's S6 plows through enemies and decimates boss's weak points along with the sniping. Fi blazes around the stage and is easy to combo/juggle with, while Wizzro is simply unmatched against large bosses and still is highly effective in duels and against mobs. I have Tingle at the higher end of the high tier due to just how deadly his S5 is (almost as deadly as Ganondorf's S6 with invulnerability). Lana's Spear's S5 is fast, powerful and has great range and to prevent her from getting launched in the air, I dodge immediately after (that's ultimately what boosted her utility) and her regular attack stream is great against lowering a giant boss's weak point, especially the fire ones.
I'm confused where is Lana's portal, even though it has invulnerability on powered up attacks it suffers from the same problem of overly long attacks as the great fairy does.
I think you're playing the baton wrong. I always had a great time with it. The way I played it was I used the second combo (the ranged one with the music staff) or her first one (the lightning launcher) which would knock all enemies hit to a single place. I'd run up to that place and start a combo, usually the third or fifth, and I would land every hit with consistency. Her combos are able to combo on airborne enemies, and she has combos that send enemies into the air. It works pretty damn well.
I’m glad Maron isn’t on this list. I think she’s a beast with her bell. Great for clearing out a host of enemies in front of you. Great against the big bosses. I made her strong enough to make Gannondorf go cry to other bad guys at a villain’s support group meeting meeting.
Great Fairy may not be practical but by god she makes me laugh, she's just a collossally powerful troll having a good time and it makes me smile. Will I take her into harder fights? No. Will I use her for literally anything else. Yes. :D
I was wracking my brain the whole video trying to think of what could possibly be number one; and when you had gotten down to 2 I still couldn't POSSIBLY think what was left. I had blocked the spear out of my mind. I still at least 'tried' challenges on the Adventure Maps with the Baton. If I saw one that required the Spear, that map was done.
Young Link is my most favourite character. There is no other character in this game nearly on his level. His Fierce Deity is just God-Tier and if you play it good enough and there are enough enemies near you can stay as long as you want in this mode.
Hyrule Warriors Legends would make a few changes I'd say. Because of the lower enemy count, Great Fairy is actually super useful on maps where you have to quickly get high kill-score because since the camera is zoomed out, more enemies are on screen. However, since the Summoning Gate doesn't actually "Summon" anything but colored spheres and even that lags the game...I'd say that unplayable mess would be my least favorite. -which is a shame because I love the idea.
I think even the game knows that some of these weapons arent too good (imo), because some missions that force you to use them feel like they were toned down in difficulty. Like theyre specifically set up to clear them quickly.
Usually what I do for zelda's baton is either dodge roll to close the distance between me and the enemies,or pull em in with the first heavy attack combo. But I respect everyone's opinion all the same.
I found some good uses for darunia, his light light heavy is good for smaller bosses, his 3 light heavy is a decent choke point clearer, and his 4 light heavy can break guards and knock enemies down
Darunia was a bit of a letdown, but he didn't have as much to work with when compared to other characters. Fire, rolling, rocks, megaton hammer, and that's it. He could've probably got away with summoning volvagia as an attack, but then...... Volga comes in, takes that concept of personifying volagia in a human/wyvern hybrid, twirling and tearing through with his spear like an absolute beast, and just steals the show overall. You really don't need any other fire element characters/weapons when you have this guy. Though the sand wand is a close second for me. Volga also seems to have the most aggressive ai in the game and gives me trouble on even easy difficulty. He does get points for that alone IMHO
As I was rewatching this, I was trying to remember who the number 1 worst was. It seems that my brain purposefully blocked Lana out of my mind, because holy shit the deku stick was so painful to use.
I might be crazy to say this.. but the level 1 & 2 are my favorite they seem to get things done insanely for me... despite the animation flaws she does enough damage for me to not be bothered by it :3
Agatha is my main in Hyrule Warriors. My friends just send me in to fight bosses and take keeps while they deal with crowds. I know how to dodge perfectly with her and use her second heavy combo(as an example) to demolish everything without getting hit. She's great!
10: Swords link. 9: Volga 8: Naginata Impa 7: Fi 6: Young Link 5: Lana Sorcery 4: Twili Midna 3: Zelda 2: Gannon Swords or Spear. 1: Impa Giant Blade. And that is my top 10 playlist for characters.
You know, I think the Deku Spear was originally going to be used by Saria, from Ocarina of Time. I mean, it's themed after the Kokiri Forest after all. If we get a sequel, I hope Saria is in it, with an improved Spear weapon.
It's funny that your worst 10 contains most of the characters that we used to play with. I played Hyrule Warriors on the WiiU with 2 friends and the Wind Waker Zelda as well as Darunia and Fairy Link...
I believe we were originally going to get saria with the deku spear but she was scrapped. That said, I find the spear at least has a few decent moves (her light string and her aerials are good) and she doesn't have trouble breaking weak points unlike the baton that is only good in theory but in practice is the worst weapon in the game due to how slow zelda is with it for how little damage it does. Ruto and Darunia, also, while they're under the curve, at least have utility. Darunia's boulder toss is good, his c3 is a decent stunlock, and Ruto's water bubble is surprisingly strong, plus her tidal wave is one of the few moves that can insta cap a fort
The only real good you can get out of Lana's spear is the beginning of her C5. After blowing the deku leaf, you can dodge cancel out of being thrown into the air afterwards. That's really all she's got though.
My Top 10 are: 1. Twili Midna 2. Young Link 3. Link (Gauntlets) 4. Link (Hyrule Sword) 5. Link (Fire Rod) 6. Volga 7. Midna 8. Darunia 9. Sheik 10. Toon Link (Light Sword)
Glad my fave didn't make this list! I always used Midna, and I loved how much she moved during combos. In the end, I was able to basically ace anything in the game that allowed me to play with her. (Also, Twili Midna was really good too).
My favorites are the Great Fairy, Zelda with a Rapier, Sheik, Ghirahim, Fi, Skull Kid, and Young Link. I have yet to unlock Yuga, Ravio, Marin, Phantom Zelda, Twill Midna, and the other latter half at the character roster, but I'm pretty sure Yuga and Marin will become staples once I get them. Twili Midna looks fun, but I'm not sure how much I'll like her gameplay wise.

Sand Wand (Toon Link) 1. Great Fairy (Link) Worth noting is that I think only the Great Fairy is the truly bad one of these weapons. The rest can consistently get A Ranks (or S Ranks if you're playing the Japanese version) if you know them well, and weapons 6-10 are actually rather decent if you're good with them.
The spear is cool, but the Summoning Gate is more fun and her Tome way more effective. I likr the spear's AOE a lot, and it's quite effective for great single target damage whenever you end your leaf-flight. Good shit.
I like how many of the complaints in the video seem null and void, as you repeatedly show the characters doing things you say are impossible for them (Saying a character has no crowd clearance, as you show them using a crowd clearing combo, ect)
I wouldn't say Ruto is slow per se, just that her neutral string has this weird windup before each hit that feels unnatural compared to the rest of the cast. Not a beginner's pick, but decent in the hands of someone who can keep a cool head.

Wizzro is far from bottom 10 material. He has good crowd clearing, he has an infinite against every playable character and he has one of the best offenses against giant bosses. The guy has a lot going for him and there is no way he's anywhere near the bottom.
ShaneBrained, I'm rather surprised with your #1 worst character/attack with Lana's Deku Stick. I would've said King Daphne's sail though, and yeah Ruto's water attacks are pretty bad too. As for Zelda's Baton, I actually like it even though it is quite slow going as with Darunia's Megaton Hammer. But on the flip-side, as to the best characters & attacks, which of the four choices would you personally consider being the ultimate best one.............. > Twlia Midna's lv.4+ cannon attack > Link's Master Sword w/900 attack + laser beam > Young Link's Fierce Deity transformation with his lv.4+ attacks > Linkle's lv.4+ attacks
Zelda's Baton, Lana's Spear, and Lana's Gate I can't stand playing as. Interesting to see the first two make the top 2 spots. Maybe I am just bad at using the gate, it's visually fun, but not fun to use imo.
I would say Zelda’s Baton is much worse than Lana’s Spear; at least her YYYX has good range and brings enemies to your line of sight and her special has a good AoE. All of Zelda’s moves with Baton is horribly slow and clunky and trying to defeat hordes of enemies is painstakingly annoying. The potential was there, too, it’s the Wind Waker! A sacred baton that can control winds! What was wrong with summoning Cyclos for a massive AoE? Mind control statues to attack enemies like Ghirahim’s Bokoblin rush? Or my personal favourite: summon the spirits of Laruto and Fado and conduct massive Earth and Wind damage? ‘‘Tis a shame, the Wind Waker was an OP item in the title game, but here, it’s nerfed dramatically.
Let's all remember that regardless of tiers and lists, every character in this game is equally capable in battle. Use your favorites and don't let the fact that Ganondorf and Marin can sweep entire rooms in one move kill your joy.

OK, not gonna lie, I kinda disagree with the Fire Rods placement. Does it really have only one good combo? Yes. However, the two things it can do, clear out a massive amount of enemies with the special attack and absolutely melt everything with the second combo, I'd say that it would be probably lower (or higher...?) on this list. Also, imo, Ruto and Darunia should be swapped
Having played the 3DS version, I don't think Ruto is that bad. Especially if you give her a Hasty attack weapon which helps mitigate her slow combos. In my experience, her tidal wave absolutely decimates bosses and captains. Especially with the ticking dot it puts on them afterwards.

I think to be completely fair, Hasty Attacks and other such skills shouldn’t be considered when comparing to others. Sure, her slower attacks come out faster but if we compare her to everyone one else with Hasty Attacks then we’re just back to square one. :)

Darunia, is a bit better, but pretty bad.
The Deku Stick is the most mediocre weapon in the game; only a few good combos, and takes way too long.
The Magic/Fire Rod is just useless.
Fi, is just meh. The only problem is that she feels so awkward to play as, and her Heavy Attack button is useless.
Wizro, I’d argue should be WAY higher up, he could’ve been a interesting character, but he’s mostly useless. While his move set is indeed interesting, it just feels awkward and out of place in a hack and slash game.
The only other one I disagree with is the Baton/Wind Waker. Sure, Zelda doesn’t move, but I really liked using it on the 3Ds version. The combos, aside from the 3rd one, are pretty good. The Heavy Attack button, while mostly situational, can do some crazy damage. The only real problem with it is that she doesn’t move, and feels awkward to play as.
Tetra, is just missed potential. I get why they didn’t give her a bigger range; because she’s a smaller character and it wouldn’t really make sense. She would’ve easily been in the Top 10 Best Characters if her range and speed was even slightly better. I still enjoy using her.
Tingle, is pretty bad. He’s slow, has pretty bad range, and only has 2 good combos. His heavy attack isn’t 100% useless, it can be used for weak points, but yeah.
While Impa’s Blade wasn’t on the list, it definitely should’ve. It seemed really good at first, but it’s pretty damn bad. It just feels awkward.
The only problems with Agitha is that her regular attack range is pretty damn bad, and she’s super slow. Also, it gets pretty repetitive using her 3rd or 4th combos and not getting on the Butterfly. If she was slightly faster, and had a bit better range, she wouldn’t feel as awkward.
Toon Link just feels so awkward with his sword; I get they wanted to go for Wind Waker, but his range is trash, and he’s pretty slow.

As bad as the Deku Spear is, I'd choose it in a heartbeat over the Summoning Gate. Surprisingly low speed, combos that leave you completely vulnerable while performing them and that are nearly impossible to land accurately, and a gimmick dependant on luck that, when used successfully, only grants a marginal increase to the strength of the combo? No thank you.

TheLoZKing I don’t know if I’d call it a “marginal increase”, in some cases having the Strong Attack buff turns a good combo into a broken one, especially the Argorok combo. I will admit it’s a difficult weapon to adjust to but when mastered it’s potential is huge.

The Summoning Gate lets you surf on a dragon... by default that makes it one of the most awesome weapons in the game.

Why's it even called a spear? It's not a spear! The weapon Volga uses, that's a spear. The thing that Lana swings around is a grass type staff, aka deku stick.

I did. They run at the exact same speed. The Great Fairy will feel slower though because of how large she is and how pulled out the camera is but she isn't actually moving any slower than anyone else. This is something people have actually tested and no discernible difference in run speed was found in any character.

Darunia’s speed is KIND OF compensated by the fact that he is tied with Ganondorf for having the highest base attack power in the game. But then again..... come on. At least Ganon’s great swords have that insane VI combo. Darunia’s special attack couldn’t even come close to that.

I just spam strong attack + dodge to fish for whirlwinds, then grab a level 3 tornado and clutch everything. It's surprisingly fast at clearing spread out mobs.
Baton Zelda is my main. I really love the way the moveset feels. I've gotten the most 0 damage wins with the Baton too. Even more than the super high tier weapons like Sheik's Harp.
I know that the spear is mostly bad, but surprisingly enough, i remember using it while spamming the deku leaf's wind shot, and it did wonders, killing so many small enemies and filling the special bar. And i guess that the ice combo helped with damage for bigger enemies, but that doesn't save it from being repetittive.
The best part about Fi in this game is that she doesn't pop out, stop the action, and tell you how to open a door ever 30 seconds.
Ruto's combos exist for one purpose: to fill her Strong Attack meter and then be cancelled at the earliest opportunity. The problem there is that her evade is a super lengthy animation.
That said, her Strong Attack is _extremely_ effective once you learn to optimize meter gain, dealing truly massive damage to a huge area, and I've learned to have fun with the character as a result.

Dang, I didn't expect tetra to be in the list... she is actually my main. But, it's cool.
She's one of the characters I love using but I can understand being considered super bad. She doesn't have much in AOE, her range leaves much to be desired, her strong attack while interesting generally doesn't accomplish much, and her first combo applying the water affect actually destroys a lot of her juggling capabilities since if that ticks while they are being juggled it lets the enemy recover faster.
I absolutely love playing as her though
I think a lot of people think less of Tetra because she needs to aim and space a little more carefully and she doesn't really have any "GET THE FUCK OFF OF ME" panic button attacks, since even her special requires aim. I definitely see people's points that she's got some weaknesses, but I think she stands head and shoulders above crap like Lana's not-spear and Impa's giant butterknife.
The video "Level One Giant Blade" by Cress perfectly sums up why the GB is my least favorite weapon.
the spear for Lana at least keeps you moving around during the attack string, and her strong attack enders are significantly quicker than the Summoning Gate. While the Gate is cool to use, it's locks you in place far more often than the Baton. The only diff being is that you CAN launch much stronger attacks, but to do so requires luck and having no-one near you while you while trying to get the enhanced summon. The fact that the gate is nowhere on this list at all considering the other criteria used for the other entries (speed, attack movement, range of strings) I find this list more than questionable.
Honestly I found that Ruto with hasty attacks thrown on becomes a much better character. Her main string becomes a lot more reliable, she actually can combo off some of her earlier charges, she gets to her better ones like the tidal wave faster and they don't leave you vulnerable for as long, and she becomes pretty darn good against bosses. If you stop her main string just before the last hit it does a lot to most bosses weak point gauge, you can potentially get to that point twice with hasty attacks meaning you can drain the bar in one go potentially. It also makes her long range strong attack a bit more effective as that is sped up as well.
Though it doesn't help her low damage output or general vulnerability too overly much in her later charges.
Also I find Wizzro to be amazing at 1 on 1 fights. He can juggle enemies so easily. Though I dont have much fun with him myself
Ruto is pretty darn good against bosses even without Hasty Attacks. R6 -> dodge cancel -> String takes down pretty much every Giant Boss's WPG including Ganon's, and that's without Hasty Attacks. You just need to start early so you can lead with it. She's tied with King Daphnes for best water user in the game.
Much the same actually applies to Lana's Spear, but she must go through the whole string up until she shatters the icicles before dodge cancelling, and she misses depleting Ganon's WPG without Hasty Attacks.
Wizzro is probably up there with the Top 10 best. He's amazing in just about anything with the important exception of crowdclearing which he is absolutely terrible at.
Crowdclearing is a big part of the game you know... They expect you to get 1200-1500 Kos in 15 minutes in most missions...
And what’s more is that while Wizzro’s good at killing single officers and bosses, if he gets surrounded, particularly by multiple officers that he can’t pick off in 2-3 hits, it tends to get very dicey very quickly.
Is hasty attacks a skill? Or a buff like the enhanced items?
I'm sorry but I'm a Ruto Main and I never found any of her attacks slow. She's amazing in my book!
Ruto's tidal wave attack and the flame dragon spiral for Link's "rod" are both great for taking keeps and wiping out groups of enemies
10: It's a shame that Tetra's weapon isn't better. It's fun to play, but the terrible range is just a deal breaker.
9: As someone who plays Wizzro a lot, I don't think his lacking 1v1 combat is enough to put him on this list. He is the best boss killer hands down, and he's only average at dealing with hordes. That's much better than what Tetra offers.
8: She's OK, but other characters are better than her.
7: Not the worst character in the game, but Darunia should be a bit higher. He's really bad.
6: If you could dodge cancel her combos, she wouldn't even be on this list. At least you can Special cancel, but you shouldn't have to waste meter to do something everyone else can easily do.
5: I wouldn't know because I barely played him. I play Agitha more than him.
4: Ruto shouldn't be on this list or at least not this high. Her combos are alright at best, but I don't think the vulnerability of her heavy should be used against her when that's meant to be used for sniping and never in close or mid range. She also has a good boss killing attack (dodge cancel the 6th hit of her mash combo where she summons a symbol on the ground and a bunch of bubble appear). Do it twice and you got guaranteed weak point smash. It's no Wizzro boss killer, but it still works.
3: You call it the magic axe. The 4th combo is alright though.
2: Trash weapon.
1: I'd rather play this over the Baton. It's not good, but at least you aren't standing still while using it.

Ruto's pretty bad without hasty attacks. But with hasty attacks she's actually pretty good. With hasty attacks she's one of my favorite characters in the game. But her special attack is still best to ONLY use defensively. Offensively her special attack is complete garbage.
Hasty improves so manny thing like Daruni' toon Zelda and the summon gate.
In my opinion, Wizzro is the worst in the game. He's slow, weak, and plays completely unlike everyone else in the game. His trap style COULD work, it's very interesting at least, but because his attacks are so stupidly weak, he just fails everything. If his traps actually DID SOMETHING, I could at least appreciate his moveset. His only good point is decimating Weak Point Gauges, but he's so weak the Smash barely does anything, and I just cannot enjoy playing as him. Whenever I'm forced into using him, I groan and just have absolutely no fun. He's not even interesting or cool, like the other villains, he's just "evil dark psycho sorcerer".
Spear Lana is at least _Lana,_ I.E. a likeable character with a personality. And her fourth combo has actual power and decent range.

You're kidding, right? He's obscenely good at one-on-one, has a fuckton of super fast (and safe) ranged AoE and... oh yeah.. he utterly SHREDS every single giant boss in mere seconds.
I feel like what was said for Link's Magic Rod can also be said for Wizzro; he's got literally one good combo (the bullet-hell spin) which you need to spam over and over to be effective. He's annoying as a boss, and very boring to play as a character.

9:38 to answer that question, you can only play as Lana (Spear) when her Spear weapons are up for grabs.
Okay, I know that this is a bit old and things have changed/the meta has changed, but I'm gonna add my two cents worth into this anyways:
#1 Lana's spear isn't so bad if you make extensive use of dash-canceling attacks.
If you get really good with this mechanic, you can end up chaining Deku Leaf/Slingshot hits in successions so rapid that she can fairly easily deal with most enemies in the game, aside from large bosses, while there is also a way of summoning three of those little Deku Kids to do a rushing-bounce attack, if done right, which can make for quite some good spacing.
Her deku leaf attack also provides some pretty damned good mobility if you let her go airborn with it, and if you don't, then as I said earlier, you can dash-cancel that into several leaf-swings in a row to do some fairly reliable stun-locking on most bosses.
#2 Darunia doesn't even really deserve to be on the list, for one big reason...
He's got one of the best stun-locks in the game, if not THE best outside of characters with special or "bar-based" mechanics.
Because IT'S A PSEUDO-GRAPPLE/THROW ATTACK that requires nothing other than for you to roll into your enemy while mashing B.
Anything below Giant Boss status, when meeting up against his roll, is gathered up on top of him, taken along for the ride, then slammed with a palm at the end.
While this might take a while, it makes him a COMPLETELY SAFE CHARACTER to use against bosses, so long as you distance yourself a bit once the move is completed instead of trying to corner-trap anything that isn't a minion.
It's like bosses just don't really know how to HANDLE the move. Think of it like a none-bar-reliant version of Zant's spin-to-win, but with less damage.
Not sure if this is a popular opinion but instead Lana having her 3 "godess weapons", I would have rathered Saria be playable with the Deku Spear.
Ruto's strong attack mechanic is so incredible that it makes up for the rest of her lackluster moveset. C6 and C1 are all you need.

agitha is easily one of the worst. the reason being with the exception of her first 2 combos she is complete trash compared to every other unit. this is also not to mention she has the worst range next to tingle in their normal attack strings but at least tingle has multiple combos that are good
I dunno if it's a more recent thing but sometimes I'll intentionally choose Wizzro FOR 1-1's against captains.
I think there's a few who are immune like Shiek and Zant but generally if his C1 grabs, he can just stunlock commanders to death. There's few things more satisfying than giving Volga, one of the most annoying enemies, such an un-warriorlike end. Sure it's cheap and unfair but gotta admit, that's 100% in character for Wizzro.
Most people's internal concept of "smart" boils down to "thinks just like me, but more so".

Zelda with the Baton has ONE good use. On the sudden death maps she just spams her strong attack and all of a sudden it is like she is master of all.
I am wondering, could you do a video about the costume that were included in the base game, in the Hero of time Pack and in the Twilight pack? There is a few of them that actually kinda confuse me.
I hate the Dominion Rod, don't get me wrong it can do things, but it's one of those weapons that I never feel like I'm doing something intentionally and is just button mashing.
Tingle has a particular combo which is just broken... in Hyrule Warriors Legends. Pretty sure we can all agree Agatha is one of the worst though, (Standard Attack 2 had 0 range, just saying)
The boss rush evidence you presented... meaningless, Agatha's standard special MISSES most enemies, but can still deal... good damage to Bosses.
Edit: We can all agree that Young Link is just broken, and me and my best friend love him for that.
I hate the spear so much
Tetra is actually great vs. mobs of weak enemies, despite her poor reach. The trick is to aim her pistol shots in a straight line at an entirely distinct group of enemies from the guys you're murdering with her cutlass right in front of you. The problem is, individual pistol shots won't kill weak mobs. You have to land all of the pistol shots from an attack on the same line of foes. Her fast attacks help make up for her lack of easy access to range, as well, and also make her excellent for dashing about the battlefield from objective to objective, cutting down key foes as she goes. As a duelist, Tetra is passable, but not spectacular. Without Water element, her attacks tend to drop combos, but _with_ Water element, there's an equal chance of gaining a confirm you wouldn't normally have gotten due to a well-timed flinch, or losing your combo due to a poorly-timed flinch allowing the foe to tech out when they wouldn't otherwise be able to.
Watching the gameplay of the Deku Spear, and my personal enjoyment of link’s Fire Rod, have inspired me to make a few pathfinder characters based on them. Thank you for a good video!

I saw two comments that say Ruto isn’t that bad. Personally, I agree. But before you guys get triggered, the magic word of these top “Best” and “Worst” Videos is “Opinion”. I don’t think she’s that bad. Sure, her first, and fourth combos are trash, her standard attack sucks, and her normal heavy attack leaves her open to attacks, every character at least has one good thing about them, even if they suck ass. Also, I agree that Lana’s Spear sucks. It’s most of its combos are god awful and only one is decent. Tingle isn’t that bad, Link’s Rod also sucks, but isn’t that bad, I love using Zelda’s Wind Waker because it’s just fun to play as even though the knock back problem, but personally, I’ve never encounter your issue with the Princess’s Baton.
As irritating as the Baton's lack of forward movement is, you gotta' admit, it's SUPER handy for those "you can only take one hit" challenges in adventure mode. Spamming Strong Attack = instant A rank. :)
Combine the Baton with the speedy attacks skill ,full heart higher attack skill & and that weapon is extremely deadly against any enemy.

When I first started playing this game and first unlocked the deku spear, my reaction was something similar to "A stick? Why would I give up my lightening geometry textbook for a goddamn stick? Pass." I guess I have a halfway decent intuition about shitty weapons.
I think I psyched myself into thinking some of these weapons aren't as bad as they actually are (namely the Baton) simply because I have to use them so often in the Adventure Mode maps. The less I'm forced to play a certain playstyle, and thus the less I'm familiar with attacks that suit me, the less I'm willing to accept their positive qualities, meaning I'm still sitting in the middle of my stupid world convinced that the Sand Rod, the Phantom Armor, and the Boots have no utility.
My least favorite is the Great Fairy because she's slow, huge, and unwieldy, and my favorite is Toon Link with the sword because he's fast, his strong attack is a jump, he's got lots of air juggles, and his 6 hit combo is powerful and fun to steer
I'm still hoping for Breath of the Wild DLC or Switch port of the game with it. And I know the perfect if not only character choice to put in.

gameboy4064 BOTW has ALOT of variables in it, so a dlc for it would be difficult. Other games could provide more reliable dlc, as well as additional weapons for the existing games.
Link gets the whip, young link gets a flute that uses the Oracle animals (with a halindrum map) toon link gets dopples (or the four sword) and new characters could be twinrova and vaati.

May Unnie the only logical character would have to be Urbosa the Gerudo champion. My reasoning is that it would have to be a character that had a major impact from the games story Link, Zelda, and even the king are in HW currently so who else is there. How about one of the champions to give them some recognition as a fighter. We already have a goron: Darunia, Zora: Ruto, and a Rito: Medli, but no Gerudo character except for Ganondorf but he was going to be playable from the start
Tbh I despise Lana's summoning gate weapon. It's so bad. I feel like lana has a lot of bad weapons. The book being the only 'ok' one.
Wow, very different from what I would have considered my 10 worst, originally I had some that low like Wizzro and Lana's Spear, but figuring out strategies and play styles with them boosted them on my tier list. I created a tier list a while back, placing everyone either in "Ultimate", "Top", "High", "Middle", and "Low" and I was surprised to find that only one weapon ended up in low while the vast majority were high or top tier. My bottom 10 (right now, still haven't played some of the latest characters since I didn't really get to play Legends and now I have the Definitive Edition). 10-7 are in high tier, 6-2 are in mid tier while 1 is low tier.
10. Tetra - same reasons you listed
9. Link's Gauntlets - has great regular attacks but the special attacks take too long and/or have poor range
8. Link's Hylian Sword - not bad in any way, just incredibly basic especially compared to majority of the other weapons
7. Impa Naginata - difficult to land hits and combo
6. Midna - very limited options, only S3 is really good, although S5 is unblockable and good for duels
5. Zelda Rapier - not great with crowd control and capturing keeps, great 1-v-1 though and fairly poor range
4. Link's Firerod - actually just dropped it due to your video and realizing how not amazing this weapon is (I originally had it top tier), S3 is really the only useful move, but S5 is still usable.
3. King Daphnes - slow, bulky, weak moves
2. Zant - can't spam moves, S1 to use the Insanity bar isn't that good, very long start up for majority of his attacks
1. Lana Summoning Gate - horrible regular attacks, relies on random chance to get the most out of the weapon.
It's funny because I have weapons like the Windwaker Wand, as well as Wizzro (originally low), Ruto, and Fi as top tiers because I never had the issues you mentioned with them, Windwaker's S3 is amazing, her regular attacks don't push them away, they stun them, it's the strong attacks that push them away which is why I utilize S3 a lot since it holds them in place. Ruto's S6 plows through enemies and decimates boss's weak points along with the sniping. Fi blazes around the stage and is easy to combo/juggle with, while Wizzro is simply unmatched against large bosses and still is highly effective in duels and against mobs. I have Tingle at the higher end of the high tier due to just how deadly his S5 is (almost as deadly as Ganondorf's S6 with invulnerability). Lana's Spear's S5 is fast, powerful and has great range and to prevent her from getting launched in the air, I dodge immediately after (that's ultimately what boosted her utility) and her regular attack stream is great against lowering a giant boss's weak point, especially the fire ones.
I'm confused where is Lana's portal, even though it has invulnerability on powered up attacks it suffers from the same problem of overly long attacks as the great fairy does.

I think you're playing the baton wrong. I always had a great time with it. The way I played it was I used the second combo (the ranged one with the music staff) or her first one (the lightning launcher) which would knock all enemies hit to a single place. I'd run up to that place and start a combo, usually the third or fifth, and I would land every hit with consistency. Her combos are able to combo on airborne enemies, and she has combos that send enemies into the air. It works pretty damn well.
With Wizzro being #9, I absolutely hate having to fight him at the end in adventure mode. “How to lose your A Rank in 3 moves 101”

I’m glad Maron isn’t on this list. I think she’s a beast with her bell. Great for clearing out a host of enemies in front of you. Great against the big bosses. I made her strong enough to make Gannondorf go cry to other bad guys at a villain’s support group meeting meeting.
Great Fairy may not be practical but by god she makes me laugh, she's just a collossally powerful troll having a good time and it makes me smile. Will I take her into harder fights? No. Will I use her for literally anything else. Yes. :D

I had blocked the spear out of my mind.
I still at least 'tried' challenges on the Adventure Maps with the Baton.
If I saw one that required the Spear, that map was done.
Wtf. The deku stick is Great. Been playing this for several years and the summoning portal is waaaay worse.
Young Link is my most favourite character. There is no other character in this game nearly on his level. His Fierce Deity is just God-Tier and if you play it good enough and there are enough enemies near you can stay as long as you want in this mode.
Hyrule Warriors Legends would make a few changes I'd say. Because of the lower enemy count, Great Fairy is actually super useful on maps where you have to quickly get high kill-score because since the camera is zoomed out, more enemies are on screen.
However, since the Summoning Gate doesn't actually "Summon" anything but colored spheres and even that lags the game...I'd say that unplayable mess would be my least favorite. -which is a shame because I love the idea.
it is very different on other versions, I would suggest looking or trying the gate there first before judging.
I think even the game knows that some of these weapons arent too good (imo), because some missions that force you to use them feel like they were toned down in difficulty.
Like theyre specifically set up to clear them quickly.

Usually what I do for zelda's baton is either dodge roll to close the distance between me and the enemies,or pull em in with the first heavy attack combo. But I respect everyone's opinion all the same.
I found some good uses for darunia, his light light heavy is good for smaller bosses, his 3 light heavy is a decent choke point clearer, and his 4 light heavy can break guards and knock enemies down
Darunia was a bit of a letdown, but he didn't have as much to work with when compared to other characters. Fire, rolling, rocks, megaton hammer, and that's it. He could've probably got away with summoning volvagia as an attack, but then......
Volga comes in, takes that concept of personifying volagia in a human/wyvern hybrid, twirling and tearing through with his spear like an absolute beast, and just steals the show overall. You really don't need any other fire element characters/weapons when you have this guy. Though the sand wand is a close second for me. Volga also seems to have the most aggressive ai in the game and gives me trouble on even easy difficulty. He does get points for that alone IMHO
As I was rewatching this, I was trying to remember who the number 1 worst was.
It seems that my brain purposefully blocked Lana out of my mind, because holy shit the deku stick was so painful to use.
I might be crazy to say this.. but the level 1 & 2 are my favorite they seem to get things done insanely for me... despite the animation flaws she does enough damage for me to not be bothered by it :3
Since you mentioned Agitha, can we talk about how busted she is if you just spam her second combo on anything that isn't a giant boss?

Agatha is my main in Hyrule Warriors. My friends just send me in to fight bosses and take keeps while they deal with crowds. I know how to dodge perfectly with her and use her second heavy combo(as an example) to demolish everything without getting hit. She's great!

You know, I think the Deku Spear was originally going to be used by Saria, from Ocarina of Time. I mean, it's themed after the Kokiri Forest after all. If we get a sequel, I hope Saria is in it, with an improved Spear weapon.

I played Hyrule Warriors on the WiiU with 2 friends and the Wind Waker Zelda as well as Darunia and Fairy Link...
I believe we were originally going to get saria with the deku spear but she was scrapped. That said, I find the spear at least has a few decent moves (her light string and her aerials are good) and she doesn't have trouble breaking weak points unlike the baton that is only good in theory but in practice is the worst weapon in the game due to how slow zelda is with it for how little damage it does. Ruto and Darunia, also, while they're under the curve, at least have utility. Darunia's boulder toss is good, his c3 is a decent stunlock, and Ruto's water bubble is surprisingly strong, plus her tidal wave is one of the few moves that can insta cap a fort
Once you get Hasty Attack on the Great Fairy, she murders armies alone.
Fi literally has the lowest power in the game but has combo attacks that may be the best combos in the game
The only real good you can get out of Lana's spear is the beginning of her C5. After blowing the deku leaf, you can dodge cancel out of being thrown into the air afterwards. That's really all she's got though.

Glad my fave didn't make this list! I always used Midna, and I loved how much she moved during combos. In the end, I was able to basically ace anything in the game that allowed me to play with her. (Also, Twili Midna was really good too).
Midna was really good, I agree. Twili Midna is on the Best Weapons list, btw.
My favorites are the Great Fairy, Zelda with a Rapier, Sheik, Ghirahim, Fi, Skull Kid, and Young Link. I have yet to unlock Yuga, Ravio, Marin, Phantom Zelda, Twill Midna, and the other latter half at the character roster, but I'm pretty sure Yuga and Marin will become staples once I get them. Twili Midna looks fun, but I'm not sure how much I'll like her gameplay wise.

Worth noting is that I think only the Great Fairy is the truly bad one of these weapons. The rest can consistently get A Ranks (or S Ranks if you're playing the Japanese version) if you know them well, and weapons 6-10 are actually rather decent if you're good with them.

The spear is cool, but the Summoning Gate is more fun and her Tome way more effective.
I likr the spear's AOE a lot, and it's quite effective for great single target damage whenever you end your leaf-flight.

I like how many of the complaints in the video seem null and void, as you repeatedly show the characters doing things you say are impossible for them (Saying a character has no crowd clearance, as you show them using a crowd clearing combo, ect)
I wouldn't say Ruto is slow per se, just that her neutral string has this weird windup before each hit that feels unnatural compared to the rest of the cast. Not a beginner's pick, but decent in the hands of someone who can keep a cool head.

Wizzro is far from bottom 10 material. He has good crowd clearing, he has an infinite against every playable character and he has one of the best offenses against giant bosses. The guy has a lot going for him and there is no way he's anywhere near the bottom.

also, don't sleep on agitha. She might not be in my top 10, but she is definitely underrated.
Funny despise playing Wizro and while not my favorite I enjoy Darunia because I find it easy to clear groups of enemies with him

As for Zelda's Baton, I actually like it even though it is quite slow going as with Darunia's Megaton Hammer. But on the flip-side, as to the best characters & attacks, which of the four choices would you personally consider being the ultimate best one..............

Zelda's Baton, Lana's Spear, and Lana's Gate I can't stand playing as. Interesting to see the first two make the top 2 spots. Maybe I am just bad at using the gate, it's visually fun, but not fun to use imo.
I would say Zelda’s Baton is much worse than Lana’s Spear; at least her YYYX has good range and brings enemies to your line of sight and her special has a good AoE. All of Zelda’s moves with Baton is horribly slow and clunky and trying to defeat hordes of enemies is painstakingly annoying. The potential was there, too, it’s the Wind Waker! A sacred baton that can control winds! What was wrong with summoning Cyclos for a massive AoE? Mind control statues to attack enemies like Ghirahim’s Bokoblin rush? Or my personal favourite: summon the spirits of Laruto and Fado and conduct massive Earth and Wind damage? ‘‘Tis a shame, the Wind Waker was an OP item in the title game, but here, it’s nerfed dramatically.
