These are good tips. I’ve always had this problem with wigs, wig caps, stretchy headbands, bandanas, you name it. They all ride up the back of my head. Thank you for acknowledging that some of us have this problem and it’s not just that we don’t know what we’re doing.
Yes I have that flat head🤦🏼♀️. I already knew this ponytail trick just thought you had more information. But I had to grow my hair back long enough to put In ponytail. Thanks.
Never realized I had a flat occipital bone until this vid/visual aid (seriously) I’m gonna try the low pony bun suggestion. Kinda weird that I’m learning new things bout my body (especially in my 40’s) 😁 thx Miss Tia!
@@traci7200 I was doing the low ponytail thing yesterday, and I made it into a fake occipital bone haha, but it fell apart so fast! Maybe the wig grip I ordered will keep the fake occipital bone in place LOL!
@@silimavanya You’ll love a wig grip. It’s a game changer. I couldn’t imagine wearing a wig without one. Btw you should check out Tia’s review on the Milano Grip Cap. It’s a wig grip and cap all in one. The cap material is so soft, super comfy and secures my “occipital bun” perfectly. It’s a little pricy but high quality and worth every penny!
OMG thank you so much for doing this video!! My issue is apparently I have a small head from ear to ear and pretty much every wig comes over the ears ( so annoying) and if I were to cut, I would actually be cutting the band that holds the tracks together. I don’t really know what I can do so I just deal with it but its pretty uncomfortable most of the time. Any tips or suggestions for my issue? Also the wig you are wearing is absolutely STUNNING on you!!!
Hi Jenny! I actually have a very petite head from ear to ear as well. You can make a wig smaller…though I haven’t personally done that. I usually….cut the lace back as far as I can on the sides. Getting wigs with ear to ear lace will give you more room to cut it back. If I need to tuck a wig behind my ears, I take a small piece of the hair, tuck it behind my ear & pin it to the cap below my ear. Then I let the rest of the wig sit on top of that. It gives a bit of cushion so the cap isn’t digging into your ear or your head just behind the ear. Plus that bit of hair pushes the wig out a bit so it takes a more space in the part that’s too big. Does this even make sense?! Lol!!
Hi again Tia! Thanks so much for those tips, I will definitely try those. Also just wanted to let you know that I purchased the Milano wig grip cap on Amazon after seeing you wearing it. I wore it all day yesterday and I love it!!! So glad they finally made this! Thanks!
Hi:) That is definitely a concern for wig wearers. Can I ask a few questions… Do you currently where wigs? If so, how are you currently securing them? Do you have bio hair? You can direct message me here with your answers if that is more comfortable for you ☺️ linktr.ee/tiamariawigs
I have a prominent occipital bump and still have trouble with wigs riding up; even wig caps and silicone grip bands slide up. I started wearing wigs when my hair fell out after having the cooties. I pull my baby hair into tiny pig tails in the back and insert hair combs into them so that the nape of the wig has something to hold onto.
Also... HD lace front wigs stay in place better for me than non-lace. Not only does the lace texture help, as opposed to a velvety lining, the lace contours to the shape of my head better than non-lace. I have to sew combs into my non-lace wigs or use barrettes.
Hi Liz! I wear the same types of lashes...usually Halloween lashes from KISS and Wet-n-Wild. I also love Velour and Lilly lashes. I talk all about them in this playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLrW8XFXWuEUtduWWHYfmhhwKdNUtwiNjd.html
Great tips! I’m going to try to do the low ponytail thing to create some extra bump on my flat head. A wig grip is coming my way, that might also help! Mail is so slow! I always forget, but wanted to ask: how do you use those combs that are inside wigs? They are slippery and seem useless to me (I have replaced them with 3 pronged snap clips in one wig, stays put well!) Oh and a question you might already have a video for: the lace on one of my wigs is rolling up at the hairline! I’m scared to cut off more because I already cut it to the hairline.
The clips go up underneath you wig cap into your hair. If the other ones work better for you I’d go with those 😀 As far as the lace rolling…you can trim it back, or add a little wig tape or glue to lay it flat.
@@TiaMariaWigCoach oh underneath the wig cap! But when I look at videos of people putting the caps on, they are so far to the front, if I were to do that and put the combs under the cap the wig is on my eyebrows hahahaha. What is the benefit of a wig cap? Better looking parting in the wig?

I noticed it in photos where my head shows from the side, it makes me laugh, it looks like the back has been sliced off LOL!
@@silimavanya I understand completely lol 😆

Very interesting. Can you do one on how to make a cap bigger? Hmmm well that's probably impossible! Never mind lol! 😅
I really haven’t made one bigger…I’d need to try some techniques before I feel comfortable making a video on it 😬
This was SO helpful. Thank you!
You are welcome 🤗
Lots of great tips!

Oh awesome! Isn’t it the best?! I want to get the one with the lace edge next
Jenny, I had that issue too, I thought of making the wig smaller but I adjusted the adjustable straps to super tight and it worked! Try that first
What wig are you wearing?,love it.
Hi Robin! It's Tressallure Picture Perfect. Here's the review: ua-cam.com/video/Col_jyRgsfQ/v-deo.html
The back of my head is flat, and I although I would like to try a wig grip, I am afraid it will fall off the back of my head like headbands do. :/
