Thanks for this video! I just started wearing wigs, and I've really struggled with wig grips. I watched this (for the second time) this morning, grabbed my new bottle of It Stays, and yay! Easy, fast, secure, and comfortable. Thanks for the confidence booster and the straight-forward information.
Denise! I am 70. I have dyed my hair for 30 years (haven't seen my natural color in all that time) and punked my hair for the last 20. I have suffered some hair loss, from lack of iron and probably from age. Last week I went to get my hair cut and talked to my stylist and basically we parted ways because we both thought I'd have to go long hair in order to wear a wig. I couldn't see how I could go short and not have my hair stick out. Because of your video I can see my way to short hair again (YAY). I am new to wearing a wig (less than a month). I am not new to It Stays (45 years ago I used it to keep my bra straps in place and I know many people use it for prosthetics). What a wonderful solution to wig wearing. I am the proud owner of new some new wigs and the slippage has been driving me CRAZY. Thank you for saying that it can be use on non-lace wigs because that is all I have. I'm gonna check and see if you have a video on that.. TONIGHT I am texting my hairdresser to get my hair buzzed off. What a wonderful idea. I may just be bald tomorrow or maybe next week..... Won't that be a blast?! Thank you for your contribution to your Wig Sisters and especially to me....perhaps your newest Wig Sister. God bless you! Kit
Once again, thank you for sharing this information in such an honest and straightforward manner. I learn more from your videos than many others and appreciate how thoroughly you cover your subjects. Keep them coming! 🥰
You just taught me a wonderful thing! Thank you bunches!! I’m in menopause and am shedding and thinning terribly. I have always worn hairpieces most of my adult life but the new wigs are SO much better and the lace is a must. This adhesive is awesome!!! I love the option from wig bands. I just love your videos! Wish I were your neighbor!!! 🌷🐝🌷🐝🌷
Thanks for the update. I have a bottle that I never opened because I was nervous I’d apply it incorrectly. Now I’ll take your advice and give it a go. Lately all my different wig grips are giving me a headache so your video message came at a great time.😘❗️
Hi, Terrie! Please do not be afraid! If you are careful when you remove like I mentioned you really don't have anything to worry about. Some wig sisters have shared that they don't like It Stays, but the vast majority I have spoken to who have tried it love it (just check out the comments on this video for proof). Good luck and please let me know how it goes!
I would be lost without It Stays! Like you, I’ve used it since the beginning and love it. It makes the lace disappear! I have also found that it will re-stick after mild sweats, but as a hot-flash queen, if I’m having a heavy sweating day, it will break down. I have been experimenting with got2be ultra glued styling gel for that.
Let me know what you think of the gel! I tried it in the very beginning but don't think I was patient enough to let it set up.... I get those terrible hot flashes as well now! UGH!
Thanks for this thorough video. I had a ton of questions about adhering my new lace front wig, and you answered ALL of them! And since you demonstrated it so well, I feel more confident now! By the way, I love how straight to the point you are!!
I just tried the tiniest bit of it stays on my eyebrows. Now I don't have to buy eyebrow gel. I waited to post this to make sure it didn't irritate my eyes. It lifts the hair in your brows if you brush it up with a toothbrush. I am so happy about this because my brows look full and it's taken five years off me!
I haven’t been wearing wigs long just about 3 weeks but I’ve been using it stays and I can’t get a wig grip to work for me at all but it stays works great for me!!!!! I have lung cancer and lost almost all of my hair 3 weeks ago due to chemotherapy and I will have 30 rounds of radiation!!!!!! So hopefully chemo and radiation will take care of the tumor in my lung and in 1 lymph node!!!!! We will see!!!!! But I love it stays and I find that it works great for me!!!!! I have Belle Tress Dolce & Dolce 18 in brown sugar sweet cream and Raquel Welch Play it straight In black!!!!! I really like them both!!!!!
Thanks so much for the video. I have yet to purchase a good wig, and one reason has been concern over adhesion. I run hot too and I sweat. I also live in the desert and summers can reach 120 degrees. I’m relieved to know there are good products that can be used. Love you and your personality. Looking forward to your new series.
Very helpful Denise next time could you show us how far down the back of your head your wigs sit for comfort please. Looking forward to your new wig wearers videos! 🤗💗
It Stays is intimidating since I haven’t tried it yet. I have a bottle but haven’t had the guts to try it! Now I can brave it tomorrow! Thank you for sharing so many details on how tow to use it!
Hi, Michelle! You can do this!! The good news is that it is VERY easy to remove so if you use too much or put it in a place you don't want it you can easily remove. HUGS and please let me know how it goes!
@@heywigsister Well Miss Denise, I used my It Stays today. Wouldn’t you know it… my wig never slid back off my forehead!!! Incredible!!! Thank you for giving me the directions and confidence to try it out!
I was told the shape of our skull at the nape can be very straight or more of a curve, which affects whether the wig might grip or might shift. Makes sense to me.
Thank you!! I always get nervous when I make a video like this that I will miss the mark... especially since they are always so casually done and not planned out (like this one, I just decided on the spot to film it).... HUGS!
I just found you and love your broadcasts. I am new to wigs and my first wig did not have a lace front. Can you do a video to show how to wear non lace front to look realistic. You are so beautiful!
Denise , I don't know if you will see this comment but I do have a hard time with the back of my wig "creeping" up my head .. I do wear a wig grip ... and now I feel a bit better trying out the It Stays product. but I find I am constantly adjusting my wig ... it is a lace front from Raquel Welch .. I have been wearing wigs over 18 years (alopecia) .. I just wish I felt more comfortable without that sensation of the wig creeping up the back of my head ... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated (no , I don't have a big head ! LOL) Thank you !
Great video, Denise. Looking forward to your New Wearers series. I've just started using It Stays in place of a wig grip and my lace fronts look SO much better - they finally lay flat to my forehead. I think the wig grip pushed it up. It's very hot and humid here in the summer so I'm wondering if Got 2 Be might be better for me as my head sweats a lot.
Thank you so much Denise. I really love your channel. I have an issue with my wigs riding up, would this help with that? I really think think Isabella is a great look on you. The color is gorgeous!
Denise, I have hair on top of my head, but in my temple areas it has receded really far almost to the top of my ear. (Same area the front clips would be on a topper) Can I wear a topper if I use It Stays on the front? Will it hold?
Hi I love your videos. With regards to It Stays, I live in the UK and tried to buy this from America from Studio 1 but unfortunately they are not aloowed to ship it here due to its ingredients. Can you advise me how I can get hold of this in the UK? Thanks
I've hear of It Stays but didn't know how it was used. Thanks for showing how to apply, remove & the lace front after removal. If I wear make-up (foundation) can I apply It Stays after to attach lace front?
Yes, that is what I do. I put all my makeup on (which includes foundation all over my face) and then I put It Stays on my hairline and adhere my wig. Works great!
Hi. Newbie to wigs so this might be a stupid question. Can you apply this on top of the lace after you position the wig instead of onto your skin before you put the wig on? Also I know many apply makeup on their lace to blend with their skin color. Would makeup interfere with adhesion?
I hope you see this comment, Denise, and I apologise for commenting on a video that is 2 years old. I've never used adhesive with my wigs before but im just on UA-cam wondering what to to with the lace that has curled up(just a bit, not much)at the front of my Belle Madame Leonora. Do you think It Stays would be alright to help it lay down flat on my forehead?
I watch all your videos and I appreciate you candor and honesty. Thank you! I had to start wearing wigs almost a year ago and I love the ease and how it has helped my self confidence. Most of all my husband is totally sold and prefers the wigs. I own about 14 wigs from Paula Young to Raquel, Envy, Jon Renau. I have found bcuz my hairline comes so far down I do not look good in lace front off the face, but prefer bob's with bangs. 10-11" d/t my shorter neck. I have not gotten brave enough to shave my head but could bcuz I ALWAYS wear a wig. I pull all my hair back do a quick twist and clip with 2 clips (for the super fine, line, and falling out hair I have, smaller around than my pinky). First can I put this directly on my hair bcuz of my low forehead? Where do I buy this and the several other brands? I wear a wig grip but often have to spray hairspray and quickly put the wig grip there for the best hold but often that fails me🤪. Man wish I could do an out to lunch with you cuz I would love to visit with you, besides pick your brain. Your my kind of friend. Thanks again! Pam
OMG Denise, THANK YOU sooo MUCH for this!❣️❣️🙌😆🤗🥰. Now, the only question I have left is would you mind doing a video on using It Stays AND/OR wig tape on NON- Laced-wigs? If not, then perhaps just describe (to me) WHERE on the wig itself a person would apply the adhesive -- ESPECIALLY in relation to where it’s then going to adhere to on 1/2 long (bio-hair) on the person’s head, 1/2 balding areas?!? (I’m struggling SOOO much with adhesive placement because my head is a mixture of total hair loss on top, front, and part of sides. This 1/2 and half hair loss and presence makes for a VERRRY difficult, painful (because of stickiness and tangling pulling on biological -hair when trying to remove wig with wig tape especially❗️❗️ ** DESPITE these issues I continue to usually use wig tape for assurance of wig security due to the high heat and humidity climate I live in-Texas. (As u said- It Stays would sweat-lift.) I just need help because I end up either RIPPING or CuTTING what hair I do have left, OUT, evverry single time I wear a wig. Otherwise, I wear the same baseball hats I wore before I left made the big switch over to wigs about a year ago. It took SOO much time, responding earching, and COURAGE to become a “wig-wearer”, I just wish I could reap the benefits of actually WEARING them other than for special occasions. 😥 Wig grips don’t really work for me. Probably doing something wrong with them for all I know- Wig caps DIG into my (balding,) head perimeter so severely that it gives me a BAD headache within first 30 mins and permanent DEEP, RED INDENTATIONS within first 10-15 mins that remain as severe for a good WEEK following. It reeally HURTS ❗️ * NONE OF THIS IS IN THE LEAST BIT EXAGGERATED * (Any help??)
Sure, I can do that. I will just say that It Stays should ALWAYS be applied to your head, no matter what type of wig, and then the wig put on the spot you applied it. That way you are adhering the wig exactly where you want it to sit. Tape I apply to the wig first, and always apply it to very edge of the part that will sit on my hairline.
Hi Denise...I use got2be glue and it works just fine. Would you say "it stays" is better? Also, I hate wig grips too, but if I don't wear them, the wig starts going up in the back and I have to keep pulling down. I do have very thin shoulder long hair which I put in a pony tail very low in the head. Would you say it is an occipital bone thing that might be flat? Thank you! Btw....I also use the walker tape sometimes because I saw your review and I loooooove it!
I personally think It Stays is better.... Got2b is more hassle to me, although if I am going to be hot and sweaty and I have wig moving concerns then I might choose the Got2b over the it stays. I do think that the flatter your occipital bone is on the back the more the wig rides up.... I noticed that happening when I first started wearing wigs, but not I don't notice it as much, maybe because I just got used to how they feel?
Hmmm, I have not had an issue with that at all. Maybe you used too much product or didn't have the hair out of the way enough when you put it on? I'm just guessing as to how it happened but honestly that has never been an issue for me.
Hi! Question on removing topper. How to remove topper with It Stays? I still have bio hair and removing the topper just pulls the my bio hair out. Not what I want and I don’t want to shave my head because I only have some patchy areas of hair loss.
Just use a lot of water. When I use it, it sticks to my bio hair as well so I just make sure to squeeze plenty of water on the areas that are stuck with a wet wash cloth right through the topper. It will release fully and not pull your hair. If it's not then you just need to use more water.
The only problem I've had with It Stays is my bio hair moves with the wig attached to my hair. I'm thinking a buzz cut would be ideal as I'd have no hair moving. I've considered buzzing my hair!
I didn't find that to happen when my hair was longer, at least not in the front... but I'm thinking that was why I could not get it to work at the nape.
Hi!! I did not have luck getting this to hold in the back, unfortunately. I do have some ideas in this blog post though.... they were shared by wig sisters who struggle with a flat head and wigs riding up, so good things to try here! Scroll down to the end of the post to find the list: heywigsister.com/f/wig-fit-and-how-to-measure-your-head
I would hold it somewhat upside down and run it under hot water (so the water runs over the bottle and the roller)... and then as it warms up try to work that roller... I have had this happen before and that did the trick.
Can I use this glue to hold my headband wig on to the back of my head? I'm desperate. My wigs are headband wigs. I have the same problem with all of them riding up the back of head. Thank you so very much 💗
Hi! You can try it, but I never had much luck getting this to hold the back of my wigs. Here is a post I wrote last year with some ideas for securing a wig in the back that is riding up. I hope you find an idea that works! Scroll down to the end of the post to find the list: heywigsister.com/f/wig-fit-and-how-to-measure-your-head
Hi Denise--I put silicone on the wig lace front so it wouldn't itch. Therefore, when I put It Stays on, it doesn't adhere to the silicone. Any ideas? Thank you.
Here is a blog post I wrote and I included Ideas from a bunch of wig sisters with tips for handling this... scroll down to find it: heywigsister.com/f/wig-fit-and-how-to-measure-your-head
I don't wear toppers so I haven't done that, but unless you are pulling out your own bio hair to blend in the front I would say yes, you absolutely could.
I'm trying It Stays adhesive but it's not secure... not even an hour later, I can lift it right off my head. (No sweating) I don't know what I'm doing wrong.😢
Hmmm... you could try using the alcohol on your forehead to remove any oils that might be impacting it. Is it a lace front wig? I did find that it didn't work quite as well on basic cap wigs as lace fronts, but well enough that I was confident (But if I pulled on it enough it would come up, so I just didn't do that).
I have heard from many people that do and it works just fine.... it didn't work that well for me, though.... have you tried a wig grip? Some say that helps as well.
what do you use for human hair.....?????? so far im using the silicone grip.....if "it stays" is only for synthetic...whats your advice for human??????....im a petite and they dont stay no matter what...
I use this on both synthetic and human hair wigs... anything that will adhere a synthetic wig should also work just fine with a human hair wig. I'm sorry you are struggling to get your wigs to stay. Have you ever heard of The Hair Grip? It is my all time favorite wig grip and works better than anything else I've ever tried. Here is a link to my review; ua-cam.com/video/Fq2xyBv0xdY/v-deo.html
Hi! No, I really don't wear it and am going to film a video in the next few weeks about that.... the hair is beautiful and the cap awesome but there are a few big reasons I don't wear it that I will share (personal preference reasons, nothing wrong with the wig).
@@heywigsister I've been looking forward to an update on this as well. Every once and awhile I think about asking the hubby if I can splurge on it, as I only wear one at a time to maintain continuity. But some reviews of the more affordable Jon Renau human hair has made me wonder if it is worth it, and I love not having to style my hair every day.
@@bren134 omg hold on and wait!! I am filming a review of Jon Renau Carrie and love her!! I am inclined to recommend Carrie over PUSH Eileen for a few reasons... PUSH Eileen is beautiful, but there are things I don't like about it that I like more on Carrie. Super happy to chat with you about this.... email me if you want. Heywigsister@gmail.com
@@heywigsister That's great that you are reviewing Carrie - I've looked at Carrie repeatedly and wondered, as she is the most affordable with the features I'm looking for. It is interesting that another reviewer reviewed her in my color, 14/25, and it looked so different in HH vs. synthetic, as I have heard it might. So I'd have to find a new color :) I am excited for your review, and an update or commentary on PUSH Eileen vs. Carrie.
Anyone with sensitive skin try this? I’m allergic to most wig glue but I can use products like got2b glue gel or bold hold lace gelly . Like gelly type products usually never bother me . I’m not allergic to latex either I might get it and do a patch test on my arm
I can't speak to this personally but I have heard from A LOT of women who have told me that they are sensitive to many things but this didn't bother them.... so hard to say for sure... I hope you get a green light from the patch test!

Pam
Hi, Pam!! I do video consults if you think that would help.... here is a link to my calendar: calendly.com/heywigsister
Great video and explaination! I’ve got Staysput roll on as I’m UK based but I believe it’s the same kind of product?
Thank you so much. You’re the best.
You're welcome!
OMG Denise, THANK YOU sooo
MUCH for this!❣️❣️🙌😆🤗🥰.
This 1/2 and half hair loss and presence makes for a VERRRY difficult, painful (because of stickiness and tangling pulling on biological -hair when trying to remove wig with wig tape especially❗️❗️
** DESPITE these issues I continue to usually use wig tape for assurance of wig security due to the high heat and humidity climate I live in-Texas. (As u said- It Stays would sweat-lift.)
I just need help because I end up either RIPPING or CuTTING what hair I do have left, OUT, evverry single time I wear a wig. Otherwise, I wear the same baseball hats I wore before I left made the big switch over to wigs about a year ago. It took SOO much time, responding earching, and COURAGE to become a “wig-wearer”, I just wish I could reap the benefits of actually WEARING them other than for special occasions. 😥
Wig grips don’t really work for me. Probably doing something wrong with them for all I know-
Wig caps DIG into my (balding,) head perimeter so severely that it gives me a BAD headache within first 30 mins and permanent DEEP, RED INDENTATIONS within first 10-15 mins that remain as severe for a good WEEK following. It reeally HURTS ❗️
* NONE OF THIS IS IN THE LEAST BIT EXAGGERATED *
(Any help??)
Thank you so much hon. I have a question... do you put your makeup on prior to the It Stays, or afterwards?
Prior... putting the It Stays and my wig on are the last things I do....
Thank you for this! Now im bummed I didn't add it to my recent order
If you end up getting some please let me know how it you like it!
How do you keep the adhesive out of the hair fibers? I’ve been spending the last hour trying to get random sticky parts out of my synthetic HD hair.
Hmmm, I have not had an issue with that at all. Maybe you used too much product or didn't have the hair out of the way enough when you put it on? I'm just guessing as to how it happened but honestly that has never been an issue for me.
I don’t know I’m doing wrong but I just can’t get the very front of my lace to stay down with It stays. Any thoughts?
How do you apply it to the nape? Inside the wig or on your nape?
I didn't find that to happen when my hair was longer, at least not in the front... but I'm thinking that was why I could not get it to work at the nape.
does this work for lace frontals? i want to know if it will work well for the side burns to stick down
What if you have makeup on ? Does the skin have to be clean?
How do you keep your wig connected to your head in the back? That's the question Ive been having a hard time getting help with
Hi!! I did not have luck getting this to hold in the back, unfortunately. I do have some ideas in this blog post though.... they were shared by wig sisters who struggle with a flat head and wigs riding up, so good things to try here! Thank you Denise, where can I buy "It Stays" ?
I get mine from Amazon... here is a link to the brand I am currently using: amzn.to/3BnlPkz
Hi Denise, your link leads to a product on Amazon called Jomi compression. Is this the same thing?
Yes, totally the same.
What if you want to use with a nylon cap and Milano wig gripper?
You totally can!!! Some people like to adhere their cap and/or wig grip and NOT the wig in order to protect the cap features. It all works!!
How do I the roller to work because I have a new bottle and the roller is stuck. Can I remove the roller.
Any ideas? Thank you.
Hmmm, I've never heard of that before. Sounds like you can't do both?
My wig rides up in the back and drives me crazy. What is the best way to prevent that?
Here is a blog post I wrote and I included Ideas from a bunch of wig sisters with tips for handling this... scroll down to find it: heywigsister.com/f/wig-fit-and-how-to-measure-your-head
Also do you use it stays for toppers?
My problem is the back won't stay. It creeps up .Can I glue the back too.?
Your beautiful with and without a wig
Thank you so much!
Don’t you wear the human hair wig you got last year? (Eileen?)
Carrie.
@@bren134 Yes, the colors between HH and synthetic can be crazy different.
