Yea I agree. I’ve been playing it addictively for a week. I’m 36, I’ve played every fallout, I love these game….but in 2020 I tried it and it would never run correctly. Today, in 2024 it runs very smoothly on Steam and is very very fun.
@@perceivedvelocity9914 I think it is just photorealistic I would say it is a bit saturated at times especially with the vault suit on a bleak background but that may be a design choice
I think the reason for the foliage surviving is because no bombs dropped directly on the area. The closest one was Pittsburgh and the radiation would’ve been carried east by the jet stream. This is the only fallout that you’re not exploring an area that was directly hit by a bomb.
Charleston (WV state capital) looks the most classically “Fallout style” devastated but that was done after the Great War by a raider warlord using a mini nuke on the Summersville Dam and causing catastrophic flood damage to Charleston. The Ash Heap region also has a wasteland look to it, but that was caused by a mine fires and a major earthquake. Although, technically WV is the most nuked place in all of Fallout when you think about how many nukes the players have launched at it to trigger various endgame events.😆🤣
A lot of people hate multiplayer in Fallout. It doesn't matter how good the game becomes they will make up reasons to hate the game. It's almost a religion at this point.
To be fair if it functioned well as a proper mmo it would be overreacting but it’s built like a single player game from the ground up with multiplayer just added on as an afterthought quests bug out because of other players, plans and other collectibles that are popular or sought after is unobtainable due to other players I’m level 300 in the game and understand why fallout 76 isn’t interesting to fallout fans
The launch issues and controversies surrounding Fallout 76 ruined the game for a lot of people. The lack of human NPC’s also hurt the game as well, while I understand the reason behind the lack of human NPC’s originally from a story and game design perspective fans expected a story rich experience rather than a open ended game like rust or dayZ. Also, other similar multiplayer games were on the market such as Destiny, Ark Survival, DayZ and Rust and players viewed these games as superior experiences and some believed that fallout 76 was a cheap cash grab to enter the FPS MMO market. The popularity of the UA-cam videos “The Fall of 76” and “Todd Howard Sweet Little Lies” didn’t help Fallout 76 or Bethesda in general, the Fallout TV show being actually well made is what restored the public opinion on the Fallout franchise. Fallout 76 is still pretty buggy even when compared to the other Fallout games. Thankfully enough time has passed and content has been added to fallout 76 to put it in a better light than its terrible launch.
Stopped playing after a few days when it released. I regret it so much. Destiny, Fallout 4, Helldivers 2, Palworld kept me occupied but I can tell you, I cant stop thinking about Fallout 76. Immersive is an understatement.
I HATED ‘76. It was just so different from the usual FO title, difficult and just overwhelmingly BUGGY. But I decided to star a brand new runthru after the show and a major player increase. After only having gotten to level 19 before getting pissed and just outright deleting the game years ago. But only a few days now of just having recently started a new play thru, I have to saying this game has gotten 100% better. Still has flaws, but the overwhelming improvements along with the new show injecting a boom of new players. My views on ‘76 have radically changed for the better. Also I have to say I’ve met some of the best gamers and downright nicest players on this game recently. So if your on the fence about this game or like me, tried it and just gave up on it. So after doing a 3, 4, new Vegas run again.. I figured hey whatever let’s give it another shot, we’ll I’m glad I did.
I played the beta way long ago and bought on release and even beyond the bugs I knew there was a strong foundation there and I was right. It's a fun addicting game to grind and play and complete all you can. The events and rare items keeps my cap inventory full and grinding for all the gold items is a blast. And you don't have to spend a single dime on 1st or anything, most of the items you can get. Always knew it was a great game and everyone just hated without even giving it a try.
A few months after launch, FO76 had a free weekend, so I tried it back then. I hated it. It felt empty and boring, and I think that's mostly because at launch it completely lacked non-robot npcs. I picked it up on sale a couple of years ago, though, because some friends had told me it had gotten a lot better. I've been playing it casually ever since, and I really enjoy it now. I mostly play solo on a private server (one of the perks of the optional subscription), but it's nice to be able to hop on the public servers and team up with other players for events and stuff. Especially when it's meat week or fasnacht or one of the other limited time events like that, where pretty much everyone on the server gets together hourly & gets ready for the event to start, with folks throwing out party favors from lunchboxes, playing instruments, and just generally having a great time.
Never played 76 because of the awful launch. Played the hell out of 3, NV, and 4. After watching the new series I got the itch to play again. But the difference between the last time I played a fallout game and now is I have a fiancee who I got into PC gaming. She does not play single player games preferring co op games like 7DTD, conan exiles, enshrouded, palworld, sons of the forest etc. Games we play together. She watched the series and wanted to play a fallout game but not by herself. 76 was on sale on steam for $8 so I decided we should give it a try and I was pleasantly surprised how good it is, and thrilled to share my girl's first fallout experience with her. It just needed another 6 years to cook lol.
I’ve been hooked on it since like a week and a half ago am that’s already longer than I ever have played when i first tried it when it launched and a little while after, just felt dead Now it feels so packed with content the base building and customization on making your own “home” is actually very very fleshed out in this game way more that fallout. 4, it gives me a Minecraft feeling when I’m building my base and legit they’re always adding new cool items to put in your house or “camp”
I am alot like you,.. I heard so much bad about the game originally so never touched it till about 2 weeks back. And I've enjoyed it so much! I play alot by myself but I interact with people many times and from time to time my friends pop on and we adventure together as well. I base/CAMP was rough to begin with but now I found my favorite spot and it's slowly getting better and better :)
Great video. 100% correct. It’s never going to be everybody’s cup of tea but the majority of people who are still playing love the game and it is just that a great game. With my character over level 1500 now I’m still finding new things in the world of fallout 76

Whole different type of fallout game, its online so its with other players who love the franchise as well. People want to hate due to the initial release, and I don't disagree, but to say that its the same game now would be absolutely wrong, and the haters should really give it a try, and if its not their cup of tea, then oh well. But it's come a long way and it definitely deserves its praise. The most content out of any fallout game, and most importantly, its fallout and the community that loves it. People will just love to hate. No man's sky had a revamp that redeemed itself in many ways, and people were quick to see that turnaround and give it the praise it deserved. Somehow even 5 years later after initial release, and an insane amount of things added to the game, some people still wont give it a chance. I just simply dont jump ship when a company has given me timeless classics for almost 3 decades. This is no acception, 76 is awesome and I wish it was more recognized. Its really fun with friends and it constantly lets you know what the roadmap looks like, always updating the game.
I just wish they had non-nauseating third person view so that I could play them. I played 5 or so hours, 20 minutes at a time before getting a thumping headache and nausea. (I can’t play any FPV- not just fallout)

I've been griping since Fallout 76 was first released that to trust anything that comes out of Todd Howard's mouth is like trusting a hooker at a methadone clinic. The first day the Fallout 4 patch came out it broke all my mods, the "Next Gen" graphics were non-existent, Ultra wide screen mode trashed my HUD, and the game crashed to the desktop about every 15 mins or so. It only confirmed my belief that Bethesda couldn't program their way out of a wet paper bag with an army carrying chainsaws. I haven't played Fallout 76 since April of 2020. After watching your video I might give it a try again. We'll see. Thanks.
Yeahhh I was bummed to hear about all the issues with the next gen FO4 patch. I was going to check it out myself but honestly FO76 has satisfied my Fallout itch so well that I haven't felt any need to. Don't get me wrong, FO76 still has some faults, but I've been having a blast with it despite them. Hope it clicks with you if you do decide to pick it up again!
It’s really fun with friends. If you’ve got friends to co-op with, hit Appalachia but if you don’t you can also make friends. During Covid, my friend and I made allies from the United Kingdom and a year later I visited them in London.
I mean really though, they need to add an option where you can tie in quests together if you're on the same quest. Like click "shared quest updates" yes or no with a clickable. Problem solved. Then they don't have to worry about instances, etc. You can just update your quest along with your team leader.
The in-game lore suggests that Appalachia is so vibrant because it was barely hit by the bombs due to its low population density pre-war. Charleston was completely intact before a certain story-related event happened after the war was over. As far as the multiplayer aspect, the Fo76 community is literally the most cooperative and caring community of online players I have ever encountered. The ONLY people who have ever given me issues are new players who think they’re playing GTA, but they always get pushed out by the majority. The base building is absolutely addicting, and being able to share my creations with other people and vise-versa makes the game feel so much more alive than Fallout 4. Every new update adds just a little more flavor to Appalachia and I love it. So glad this game is finally getting the attention it deserves from both the developers and fans alike.
I’m enjoying it. I bought it on release and had a decent time, there weren’t many games I was enjoying at the time so it was a step up. On release there wasn’t a single living NPC. Even by 2019, the last time I played before 2024, there weren’t NPCs, they came shortly after I grew bored. Now there seems to be a ton to do. BOS, whatever’s happening with whitesprings, raiders, excavations, server events that pop up on screen for everyone so when a good one shows up you’ll go there and find 15 real people helping out (and the difficulty scales. It gets wild.). I’ve done a little bit of the new content but I keep getting stuck going back to events. I had so much fun playing with a few old friends that I noticed had also hopped back on to fo76 for the first time in years. Doing monster mash the proper way instead of just farming it was awesome. A Getting rewarded for doing things is new. There used to be no clear cut way to get legendary items, it was completely RNG based. Now you get hella rewards for events and quests, and you can farm the materials needed to actually craft legendary items. I haven’t gotten to that part yet but I’m excited to. There are new perks, crazy new CAMP customization items, proper player vending, recycling for bad legendaries. Event specific loot abound. Legendary power armor, factions, even reputation levels with said factions (they all hate me so I can’t go anywhere safely). I was level 311 when I stopped playing. I’m level 330 now. It’s good fun.
Glad you're enjoying it! Yeah, the fact that there were no NPCs in the game originally is WILD to me lol. All the support they've given the game post-launch is definitely impressive. Hopefully it continues!
I've been playing for about 3 weeks. Im enjoying it. I have a feeling I'll play it for a few months then stop. I'll probably jump back in after new major updates and play for a few months. But for me, its unplayable without fallout 1st. And i ain't gonna pay for that all year just to min/max a character.
bought this game last 2023, never played it after a couple of minutes, then the fallout show released, now im at almost 300 hours of gameplay! Can't stop! RAW COBALT FLUX!
The game was already good in 2022. I started playing that time and it was already as smooth and as rich as it is today. The only difference is, some of us were willing to try it out sooner than now after the show and when we had 200 hours of content, now its 400 hours because they keep updating amd fixing things Welcome to Appalachia and glad you're one of the ones that finds joy in playing 76, even understand what the game is about. Haters gonna hate but 76ers will raise our Holy Fire, praise the wise mothman and together we're gonna kill that Scorchedbeast Queen for the nth time
You only have to pay the game if you're on PC. But if you're on Playstation, you have to pay the Playstation Plus too because its online (PS sucks about this). If you have XBox, its on gamepass, so its kind of free
@@takewhataway Thank you. I thought so. I'm still conflicted about playing the game. I'm still building settlements on FO4 but would like to try something new.
@@Duchess-of-Camelot if you like building things, you'd like 76's even more. Have you seen 76ers camp on youtube? Its insane what they can do and dont think that the cool camp items are behind paywall. Yes Meele build are viable a low health version will do more damage but you can still do a full health one but there’s no reason to do one with Max carry weight as that type of build doesn’t need to carry very much
Is it like ESO? I was afraid of ESO the very same reasons you were for F76. But ESO turned out to be one of the best Elder Scrolls game after Morrowind. Spent like 800 hours PvE. Please tell me the same applies to F76!
I tried it a second time, just doesn't feel right. I can't put my finger on it, I just can't get into it. I fired up 4 for a little fix, and I found myself downloading quest mods, and puring in almost 12 more hours.
F76 has been good for awhile now. Sorry everyones been under a rock while the rest of us are doing insane damage w insane builds, great gameplay. Got 1300 hours in since vanilla.
@@BuffedGaming I’m kinda jealous, there is so much content to play now after all these years and you get to go through all of it at one time. It’s like finding an awesome tv show and all of the episodes are out already you don’t have to wait for them.
It's only good up to a point then it's endless grinding the same mini games and going to from server to server looking for overpriced housing items lol
I've been going hopping from server to server just to get a plan of a backpack and a plan of a picnic table with no success. And when I find someone who sells those plans they sell it at 6000 caps or so
Fallout 3, New Vegas, and 4 taught me to love junk. Fallout 76 has taught me a different lesson. I do not get emotionally attached to junk anymore. Thanks Bethesda?
The game is not good, It's your brain making it good because you love the Fallout IP. The income this team has had from oblivion/Skyrim/fallout3,4 & shelter they should be pushing out GOTY titles.
I still hate how it looks, feels, acts, like an MMO. But the map exploration aspect is one my favorite parts of Fallout and this game does that very well.
It's way better as far a game play but still lagy, during events, and blue screen crashes way to often. got almost 5,000 hrs in the game. not a first player. still fun to play and most of the people are friendly. way better then GTA5 crowd.
I've been super impressed with the community! Everyone seems really chill. Although yeah I've started to encounter more crashes over the last couple of days.

FO 1st isn’t necessary for the game does it help? Absolutely! All atom shop stuff is not needed at all! You can have a great time without any further pay to Bethesda after initial download cost if you have to pay for your copy… I spent a year without ever dropping a red cent. None of the updates require your purchasing like ESO or other online MMOs! Also after you stop having your FO1st you keep all the stuff you still have access to pull from the stash plenty of buds of mine only reup to have a giant scrap month! Or Ammo gathering now that is a thing! Having a private server is a great thing, do I agree that there should be more storage for non FO1st members? Yeah. Won’t deny it. But I do believe in paying money to Game Developers for online games that you play often if not daily. Be it FO76, Neverwinter, or ESO, etc. all in all I play it because I have fun with my buds and I love Fallout in general. After all isn’t having fun what in the end this is all about?
Its ok i like the game but still pissed you can't play ghouls. You could do so much more with this game. Fallout 76 is actually good but they wasted so much potential.
Wait until your game freezes and you lose all your blooded weapons and plans youve kept for six years. When new mobiles come in on a scorched queen event and it fails. Wait until a lot of things which spoil the game so badly 🤔
@@jacabbott6094 No it is bad. I played it fully 4 years ago and I genuinely have to say it got worse since then. much more grindy, common bugs still not fixed, added battlepass. @@jacabbott6094 Not true at all. I played at launch and came back and put time into it recently. I went in wanting to like the game and gave it more time that it deserved because I went in with that mindset. It just never clicked with me or got enjoyable to play. Bugs, boring quests, boring dialog from all the new NPCs, bad animations. The scorched animations are comically bad and deserve a mention on their own.
Getting rewarded for doing things is new.
Damn, 300 hours already! Putting in that work!
I pre ordered Fallout 76 and was extremely disappointed. It might be time to give it another try.
Nice vid, please try using tags in your vids so more people will be able to see them
Appreciate that!
The game was already good in 2022. I started playing that time and it was already as smooth and as rich as it is today. The only difference is, some of us were willing to try it out sooner than now after the show and when we had 200 hours of content, now its 400 hours because they keep updating amd fixing things
Welcome to Appalachia and glad you're one of the ones that finds joy in playing 76, even understand what the game is about. Haters gonna hate but 76ers will raise our Holy Fire, praise the wise mothman and together we're gonna kill that Scorchedbeast Queen for the nth time
How does this work? Do you have to pay a monthly fee or just the cost of the game up front?
You only have to pay the game if you're on PC. But if you're on Playstation, you have to pay the Playstation Plus too because its online (PS sucks about this). If you have XBox, its on gamepass, so its kind of free
@@takewhataway Thank you. I thought so. I'm still conflicted about playing the game. I'm still building settlements on FO4 but would like to try something new.
@@Duchess-of-Camelot if you like building things, you'd like 76's even more. Have you seen 76ers camp on youtube? Its insane what they can do and dont think that the cool camp items are behind paywall. Half of the things you see in their camp are free stuff and we just have to play to get them
Well, hopefully 76 will still be around for quite sometime and it'll be there once you're ready to try it 😊
@@takewhataway I'll try it. Thank you for helping me decide.
Is viable making a full melee build so i can have max carryweight?
Yo I would check out falloutbuilds.com. Lots of great info on there including some full melee builds!
Yes Meele build are viable a low health version will do more damage but you can still do a full health one but there’s no reason to do one with Max carry weight as that type of build doesn’t need to carry very much
if you rlly want to have a lot of carryweight go bloodied and radicool with unyielding armor you get about 40+ strength
Welcome to the good fight sir
It’s actually pretty good for whats there, the problem i have is the repetitive ass end game
Caps. Hard to get. Lol you need to play more. I’m currently sitting at max caps. On like six characters. And I don’t know what to do with them Lol
Give them to me.
Is it like ESO? I was afraid of ESO the very same reasons you were for F76. But ESO turned out to be one of the best Elder Scrolls game after Morrowind. Spent like 800 hours PvE. Please tell me the same applies to F76!
Haven't played ESO so unfortunately I cant speak to that, but if you loved it that much then I'm sure you would enjoy FO76 too!
I tried it a second time, just doesn't feel right. I can't put my finger on it, I just can't get into it. I fired up 4 for a little fix, and I found myself downloading quest mods, and puring in almost 12 more hours.
bro join a casual team for the INT boost. Even if you play on a private server, just create a casual team (even if you're alone) for the stat boost.
Appreciate the tip!
F76 has been good for awhile now. Sorry everyones been under a rock while the rest of us are doing insane damage w insane builds, great gameplay. Got 1300 hours in since vanilla.
Funnest dumpster fire I ever played
Hope I see you out in the wasteland brother
Hell yeah- I'm sure you'll be seeing me around Appalachia for years to come!
@@BuffedGaming I’m kinda jealous, there is so much content to play now after all these years and you get to go through all of it at one time. It’s like finding an awesome tv show and all of the episodes are out already you don’t have to wait for them.
Its been good for a long time now
It's only good up to a point then it's endless grinding the same mini games and going to from server to server looking for overpriced housing items lol
You get it
Yeah I can already see how the end game is gonna be very grindy lol but I love a good grind!
I've been going hopping from server to server just to get a plan of a backpack and a plan of a picnic table with no success. And when I find someone who sells those plans they sell it at 6000 caps or so
Welcome to the Wasteland friend enjoy the journey and don't stress the mmo side unless you want it.
Thank you! Ill see you in the wasteland!
i like it i think fallout is the best in the south /south west. The north is boring
16 times the detail
It did have 16 times the detail. But it was too much to handle lol
"Exploring Appalachia is as fun as exploring the Commonwealth or the Capital Wasteland".
That boring eh?
same happened to me
Level 1203- never left, should of but I'm glad I'm here to see what it has become
A true vet- I love it. Ill see you out there!
Hey i enjoyed your commentary! Subbed
Awesome, thanks! Appreciate the support!
Free to play??? I bought the game wth
Lol that's my bad- I should have specified that I meant free to play with Game Pass or PS Plus. So yeah, not really free to play
Inventory cap(1200 lbs,) sucks. I scavenge a lot. Hate throwing stuff out..the gameplay well it's a fallout
Fallout 3, New Vegas, and 4 taught me to love junk. Fallout 76 has taught me a different lesson. I do not get emotionally attached to junk anymore. Thanks Bethesda?
Its in a decent state but years ago it was not doing good at all.
Thanks for the update
The game is not good, It's your brain making it good because you love the Fallout IP. The income this team has had from oblivion/Skyrim/fallout3,4 & shelter they should be pushing out GOTY titles.
I love fallout 76 but it’s not for everybody
I still hate how it looks, feels, acts, like an MMO.
But the map exploration aspect is one my favorite parts of Fallout and this game does that very well.
the only downside is the fact that look uglier than fallout 4
Yeahhh I really wish it got a current-gen upgrade like FO4 did. Maybe one day.
No it doesn’t I went back to 4 a few day ago just before the next gen update it looked horrendous 76 is definitely the best looking
@@BuffedGamingfallout 4 after the next gen update still looks considerably worse than 76
@@megaphatc4377 not on pc, it doesn't look better than FO4
@@megaphatc4377 no, it looks way worse than 4
It's way better as far a game play but still lagy, during events, and blue screen crashes way to often. got almost 5,000 hrs in the game. not a first player. still fun to play and most of the people are friendly. way better then GTA5 crowd.
I've been super impressed with the community! Everyone seems really chill. Although yeah I've started to encounter more crashes over the last couple of days.
I’ve had none on my series x
Quit smoking
Nah quit quitting 76
Quit being a quitter
No, thank you.
Of course you were wrong. Smh
Tried it again last week for a few hours, its…okay i guess. Maybe 5/10. Got bored within 2 hours again.
👍🏻
it's still a useless multiplayer game...
You have no friends
@@iiiin4red446 if you say so...
@@iiiin4red446 I think it's hilarious that the only real complaint from people is 'derr multiplayer not fallout' xD
@@J2982able if you spend most your time replaying a single player fallout you're a nerd with no friends lol only capable of connecting with npc characters.. real human interaction scary
@@iiiin4red446 I have real friends in the real world, I don't need fake friends in a non-existent world.
P.S. I'm a nerd and I'm proud of it
Ignore the micro transactions yet pay for fallout 1st 😂😂
yeahh they got me with Fallout 1st. I'm a sucker lol
Yeah got ya but all I’m saying is this guy says about ignoring the micro transactions and being annoyed by them yet he’s paying for fallout 1st………..
Its ok i like the game but still pissed you can't play ghouls. You could do so much more with this game.
Fallout 76 is actually good but they wasted so much potential.
In the next update you Will be able to play as a ghoul!
Wait until your game freezes and you lose all your blooded weapons and plans youve kept for six years. When new mobiles come in on a scorched queen event and it fails. Wait until a lot of things which spoil the game so badly 🤔
What the heck are you talking about?
No it really isn't.
POV you like to hate
@@jacabbott6094 No it is bad. I played it fully 4 years ago and I genuinely have to say it got worse since then. much more grindy, common bugs still not fixed, added battlepass. The game is literally designed to be inconvenient and sell you the solutions to those inconveniences to get you to go to the atom shop. its so clear as day as soon as you play any other fallout game.
Also I fell through the game world twice in my time coming back to the game.
Ignorant statement
Actually just play the game for more than 3 hours and you actually get to a normal point and tell me that again
