  • Join me in this nostalgic journey as we delve into the realm of Bretonnia, the most noble kingdoms of The Old World in Warhammer Fantasy.
In this video, I paint the Bretonnian Hunting Party miniature set from the iconic 5th edition.
I'll share a brief insights into the lore and history behind each model, offering a glimpse into the chivalrous world of knights, peasants, and honor. From the valiant knights to the humble peasants, each figure embodies the rich tapestry of Bretonnian society.
Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or new to the world of tabletop wargaming, there's something magical about painting and playing with these timeless pieces of history.
Join me on this adventure as we explore the timeless allure of Bretonnia and celebrate its return to The Old World.

I think it's more compelling having Bretonnian Knights being almost oblivious to the plights and pleas of the peasants under them, it's also hilariously Monty Python-esque having larger than life, honorable knights being blind to the mud beneath their boot

I really enjoy seeing you use the paper flags and decals in other videos, very informative. Love the content!

Where did you get those paper flags/banners that you used? Especially the blank outlined one's that you filled in and customized yourself? That's such an amazingly cool extra added touch! Really awesome video here!! Keep up the great work, and I can't wait to see more of you doing what you do!! Thanks

Thanks for the comment, my friend! Most of the banners and flags I use for my minis are purchased from Mirliton Miniatures. They have a vast selection of paper flags for every historical period. As for the blank outlined flags, I've created them myself using Adobe Illustrator.

I love absolutely everything about this video! I so wish I could get my hands on this set, it would make for an amazingly fun project full of nostalgia and fond memories of weekend and summer break battles on an old ping pong table. Thank you for bringing back a flood of wonderful memories with long lost friends. The results of your project are just beautiful!

Thank you for this beautiful comment, my friend! With Games Workshop recasting many old models for Warhammer: The Old World, I really hope they'll bring this box back in the future so that everybody can enjoy it!

I was so excited back in the day when I bought thos box. Only problem with the box is you don't get the champions for either the yeomen or squires.

Yeah, that's a shame. Fortunately, I already had them in my backlog, but in the worst case scenario, you can buy them again from GW now!

More Bretonnia please!! I just painted my louen leoncoeur I’ve had forever… my army was still mostly unbuilt only 4 days ago now it’s ready and I’m so hype!
Your work is much much better than mine but I appreciate the inspiration!

Not sure if Cory mentions how much has paid for the hunting party?

    • @CoryCollects

Much cheaper than its current price, but still more expensive than the Bretonnian core box for Warhammer the Old World.

Bretonnia is not a "nice" place. It is a deeply militarised society. Granting knighthood to peasants would be like Spartans offering citizenship to helots.
Re. Women as knights, Repanse has been around for a long time, and is a good example of female knights in Bretonnia - rare. Which make them cooler, frankly.

    • @Sanguinary797
      @Sanguinary797 Місяць тому +2

      I agree.
Making women into knights for Bretonnia sounds like a good idea, but it’s not.
A: it comes off as a cheap attempt to make everyone happy, and essentially cheapens Bretonnians to be like most other AOS armies, just one big diversity soup.
B: it goes against the established lore, and makes no sense. Bretonnia is a highly oppressive society, and women were already stated to have a very strict role in Bretonnian society. It makes no sense that during the reign of one king, women were just allowed to become knights, and no other king afterwards allowed them to.
C: it really takes away what makes Damsels, Le Fay, and other characters like Repanse special. Bretonnia is based off of Arthurian legends, where knights were generally understood to be men, it really does not work otherwise.

I'm all about the painting stuff, but I'm not really into GW and, thus, care little for the GW lore stuff. Just one guy's opinion.

Totally understandable, my friend! Different strokes for different folks, right? While I enjoy painting a lot, sometimes I like to add a bit of lore in my videos just for fun.
