    This looks amazing, but if anyone is after the old bombard wargames foundry sell them under their ex citadel range. Most of the oldest Bret stuff is there

    A fantastic kit bash to recreate the original WFB 3rd ed Bombard for the army.
    I actually have the wheelless Bombard from that era, as it's part of the Wargames Foundry Ex Citadel range, as are almost ALL of the original WFB 3rd-4th ed Bretonnians!

      I was very tempted to order from Foundry, will have to get a few one day even if the scale is a little off now.

    Some lovely conversion work there. No problems on my end from using AOS minis to be repurposed to Old World, only seems fair really since the original AOS range was 100% old WHFB minis until they started getting their own rolled out over the years.
    The end product looks really fantastic too, great paint job with pretty straight forward seeming tutorial on how you did it.
    Hope you have a great time at Warhammer World over the weekend 😀

    Hy, really good dies for this kit. One question, are you varnishing After the oil step?

    • @MiniatureRealms
      @MiniatureRealms  11 місяців тому

      Nope I didn’t varnish here, I think I mentioned it in the video, but I maybe have edited that bit out. Now most of the time I would varnish before oils, but with these ready mixed ones I find they’re not that ‘harsh’, and over the Scale 75 metallics were fine.

  • @cybertronbob
    @cybertronbob 11 місяців тому +5

    I was in two minds about kitbashing this AoS set into an Empire cannon but seeing this video really show off the medieval design aspects has made me think about picking up an Empire cannon 2nd hand embarrassment instead. Might even cost me less!

      Oops, auto fill running wild there

    • @MiniatureRealms
      @MiniatureRealms  11 місяців тому +2

      It’s definitely feels more medieval, the ropes add to that I think, but it could still work for Empire as well. But yes there’s plenty of Empire cannons on eBay as well.

    Absolutely fantastic paint job bud. Very impressive with the wood colours in particular personally. Keep up the great work, A1 🙌
    When I heard bombard associated with the border princes I immediately thought of the Perry bombard. Probably wouldn't suit with GW minis but I would probably build a Bretonnian army mostly from Perry kits anyway. So I'd definitely go for that. Love the wooden cover being lifted in order to fire.
    As for Old World I'm waiting. Didn't even try and order anything as I knew it'd be snapped up straight away. I'm in no rush anyway. Have a ton of lads being slowly built up and I'd need to get tray extenders as well anyway so it'll be a while before I give the Old World a go. But looking forward to seeing more non NDA creators also play some games and fire out battle reports.
    Hope everyone who's getting something this weekend enjoys it 👍

    Haha this was exactly my plan, soon as I heard bombard was back I thought if they don't release something that new aos cannon won't take much to be perfect. Great to see it done and confirm I was right about how suitable it is.

    It's a very interesting video with good tips. Unfortunately I don't have a bag of miscellaneous bits. Painting tips were good though. Maybe an organ gun can be next.

    • @MiniatureRealms
      @MiniatureRealms  11 місяців тому +1

      Sadly I don’t have the large bits box I used to, but all the bits were from leftovers from the men-at-arms kit, so anyone building Bretonnia army should have what they need. A organ gun could be fun, but I think the armies it’s used in (as far as we know now) will have them in their range.

  • @Vorpal_Wit
    @Vorpal_Wit 11 місяців тому +1

    Just a tip, you gotta give more time between those focus transitions. It fatigues the eyes, because a focus transition makes your eyes try to focus for you and then when the transition is done your eyes need time to actually focus back and find something to look at. If the next transition comes before the eyes have comfortably adjusted, you are essentially keeping the viewer in a state of constantly trying to focus. It causes a lot of viewer discomfort. Starting at about 12:09 it starts to get painful. You are better off using straight cuts or very short cross-blends for segments that short as the focus transitions are almost as long as the segments being shown. At 18:23 You did a zoom transition almost right into a focus transition, and at 23:43 you did a spin-transition (sometimes called a "VERTIGO" transition) while the viewer is focusing on a screen-centered subject - thats going to make somebody throw-up. I'd recommend killing entirely any transition between the "show the paint" and the "apply the paint" segments, especially on a project this size, were there are lots of paint changes.
    Please take this critique in the spirit it was intended. I love your content, and I just want to enjoy it and maybe help make it the tiniest bit better.

      They’re very good at spotting gaps in ranges so you may well be right, and there are definitely 3d printed options out there.
