    Thanks for the follow up. DF also posted their analysis of the 120 Hz modes. Good stuff!

    you mentioned the light pole but what about the people missing from from the roof. 120hz sniper took them out. the detail on the garage doors is junk in 120 too.

    I guess i could do it myself. But it would be cool to see a comparison between all 3 to see which is fastest. Obviously 120 prioritising frame rate should be the fastest, but it is it?

    So...the thing with 120hz is you sacrifice visuals for responsiveness. If you want the wheel to turn quicker..120hrz. Digital foundry did the test and you get better responsiveness in 120hrz if you use a wheel. No idea about the controller?

    Quick question; in 120hz mode, do you get motion blur? Or is it just the camera ? I don't get any motion blur at all 😢

      I'll need to check but I think it's just the camera. It's why I stuck to static shots to compare, at higher frame rates I got blurred frames and if I turned up the shutter speed I got sync issues.

    All the differences you're seeing are only because it's a photo of a tv. The camera is overexposing the top gameplay because of the angle.
    Also the two gameplays seem to be at a different time of day, that'd explain the difference in car reflections

    • @FormulaDigital
      @FormulaDigital  Рік тому

      The camera was identical, unmoved and unchanged, the custom race details were saved and loaded with identical fixed values for time and weather.

      @@FormulaDigital For that to be the case all the settings in the camera such as iso, aperture and shutter speed should have been locked and identical between the two photos.
      You can see at 2:59 how the sky is overexposed at the horizon in the 120hz gameplay, but in the 60hz gameplay it's overexposed much higher up in the sky (the sun is higher). This explains the difference in the reflection of the sun in the cars. Look at the genesis in the left, the passenger window reflection looks identical in both photos, but it's impossible for the sun to reflect in the back window in the 120hz mode because the sun is much lower.
      Same thing for the Supra, in 120hz mode the Supra is overexposed (and the whole photo too, look how much brighter the crowd in the right appears in 120hz), not because of the gameplay but because of the camera. This happens for the pole at the top right too

    Seriously i’m getting mad at this, why when i turn on 120 hz mode the motion blur effect disappear and you still get it.

      Check Digital Foundry, motion blur turns off.

    This isn't a good comparison. Even though it's the same race the weather is different enough to change how the picture looks. In the 120 fps picture, the blowout is in the central of the screen compared to the top right, where the sun most likely is. Just look at the Nissan Nismo in the 60fps mode how it gets it's sheen from the sun on the right. The 120fps doesn't have that because the sun isn't in the scene yet.
    If you look at the pole that you were mentioning that slightly disappeared. Notice the closer fog to the player in the 120fps mode. That fog slightly vanishing an already thin object with that blowout behind can make things dissappear slightly.
    Then there's the white car thats really blown out, a Toyota Supra I think you said. The car behind it has its lights on causing it to be super white and lose detail. Watch from 1:52 and pause it at 1:59. Notice how the cars white color changes back from the blown out whites to the regular white that you were comparing it to.
    There is some slight degradation to the picture, as you said with the cars writing in front of you, plus less people on the stands on the top right. Mostly, as far as I can it's pretty much the same.

    I can promise you all the modes are downgraded. In chase cam I am seeing jaggies on my car and it's shadow even with Vrr off 120 off 4k mode on etc. when i turn any of these settings on the image quality becomes unacceptable to me. im on a ps5 55inch hdmi 2.1 vrr native 120hz tv.

    2:03 woh woh woh wait a damn second.
    How tf did you get 120 fps mode with motion blur??

    • @lucapook2
      @lucapook2 Рік тому +2

      It’s the 120hz resolution mode with VRR. You need VRR to keep motion blur since this mode is the same as the normal 4K resolution mode with an unlocked framerate of 120fps

      @@lucapook2 oh, fine.. obviously my tv doesn't support that 🥲 thanks for the info anyway
