HDR is phenomenal in GT7, has to be one of the best implementation of HDR on the market. The duel sense controller is brilliant too, recommend turning off traction control, changing sensitivity to 7 to gain more speed.
As for all who have FALD LCD TVs, capable of 1000nit brightness, 15 clicks for first and second image is for 1000 (specifically 970 just a tinny bit bellow 1000 nit) nit brightness, and of course third image you also want "0", so that FALD can turn off its zones when it should. GT7 HDR just looks stunning. Brilliantly stunning.
@@phil_75 you go all the way to 0 (meaning minimum not maximum) and then you do 15 clicks. It will get you to 1000 nits for brightness stages. For the blackness you just set it to the lowest possible so that you get those inky blacks when possible (any other value will mean black level floor is raised).

You should buy a used 65" or 75" ZD9, I see amazing things on my TV every day still after 4 years of owning it. I know it's old but the HDR brightness and dimming performance is unmatched imo. Even the QN90/94A doesn't match it, miniLED has too slow zone transitions and somehow it still has more blooming even with nearly 2x as many zones. I get if you want a new TV though, maybe try go and see one first though.
I just got to the bit where you lamenting not being able to help super bright LCD owners and I feel partly responsible haha anyway I really appreciate it mate, thanks.
The samsung doesn't provide the same low-light performance in game mode like it does in other picture- modes. Their dimming zone algorithms seem to process too slow for maintaining low inputlag. That's no problem with sony's tvs, so the x95k mini-led tv could be a recommendation for him, but is expensive.
@@gbhxvohdchigblkh4620 I think even outside of game mode it has slow transition from reviews I've seen, with game mode being even worse. Yeah I 2nd the X95K as the choice for new set definitely.
That was my feeling yesterday too. The picture was perfekt with HGIG enabled on my C9. In Forbidden West i feel everything are brighter if u use DTM on. I play with HGIG, brightness -2 and Highlight -8 like you and Vincent recommened but if i go from hgig to dtm on everything are brighter even the sun, thag gives me the feel that something goes wrong.
On horizon forbidden west, I turned of Hgig and use dtm, and it looks wayy better in DTM. In fact, it looks stunning, except for the aliasing shimmering
HFW doesn't support HGIG unfortunately and for some reason they got rid of the more detailed sliders from the first game. The fact that you can't adjust the HDR settings while looking at an in-game scene is also annoying. DTM does a much better job in HFW even if the sun is a little bit blown out (which is actually realistic if you ever go outside and try to look at the clouds in a partially cloudy day).

Hi! One question. GT7 Have really Big, agressive white HUD. When playing with HDR (Hgig) oled light is 100%. Many people with This game is super concern about burn in issue with that hud. Whats your opinion on that?
Hi! I've noticed some things on your screen and video options that are curious. First you have the video transfer rate to -2, which is forcing the tv to output a 4:2:0 chroma subsampling if i remember well. Than yo have the RGB range to automatic, whic on my LG C9 it can cause problems unless you're using the PC mode on the input of the ps5, which unlocks the voice "Auto" under the Black Level setting. I was just curious about those settings 👍
Transfer rate -2 is because my PS5 is connected to my elgato 4k capturing card. This card accepts 4k HDR just in 420. RGB automatic is no problem on the LG CX.
Hi would you or anyone else recommend buying the LG service remote control to be able to disable ABL altogether? As you said in this video and I totally agree the ABL on OLEDs ( I have LG C1) is much to aggressive especially for my main usage which is gaming on console and PC...
You cannot disable ABL via the service menu …there’s clearly way to much misinformation around this topic…. ASBL, not ABL, can be disabled via the service menu. Which are two entirely different things, and effect two different things. You should probably verse yourself on the differences before you decide to go messing with these type of things. You will never fix that dimming of large windows on OLED. The only way to get around it, is to set the OLED light to below 150 nits, to keep it from triggering, which will only work for SDR. But all that is doing is limiting the APL, and not crossing the ABL threshold, which is right around 150 nits on the C series sets. The reason to disable TPC (ASBL) in the service menu of these sets, is to keep the set from dimming during long and dark DoVi/HDR scenes and sequences…or to keep the set from dimming so quick when left stuck on static content. For example, you use the set as a monitor, and your bring up a word tab. After so long, that ASBL algorithm will hone in on static elements on screen, and gradually dim over time. Then you decide to scroll the page, and it brightens back up once you move it. It’s those inconsistencies in brightness that will be fixed. Try a samsung TV, so you can test a high performance LED/LCD tv with a higher peak brightness and great gaming features as well. Great video as always my friend.
Please don't tell me you gonna buy a plain qled! I tested qn95a and was disappointed. Oled still king except having money to test qd oled or micro led 😱
@@GamingTech-UA-cam g2 sounds as an update but i doubt will be so noticeable. Value for money is the c2 of course a great choice. Personally won't change my cx for another oled until i see a big difference in overall picture brightness and not only at highlights, but i really doubt oleds can go much higher in that term. Maybe qd oleds is the feature but prices are high for me this year
Lol no reason to cap Amok…we all know the HDR impact and representation is definitely lacking on the LG CX, which leaves many, including myself, underwhelmed, and constantly wanting to tweak the HDR, to get the best HDR image we can. Which is always a tale of compromises. I completely understand the want for a higher peak brightness set, that more faithful to true HDR, which doesn’t compress the heck out of specular highlights, or clip so much. Not to mention, doesn’t run out of color/color volume the second any luminance is pushed…. So I’m in the same boat as you Amok…looking for another TV. One that doesn’t make me feel I’m missing so much from the HDR experience. One that can hold a decent APL, and doesn’t dim so much on larger windows due to ABL…etc, etc. Doesn’t suffer from white subpixel dilution…you get the point. For me, I’m looking into QD-OLED as a nice middle ground between QLED and OLED. I need quantum dots back in my life, and I really don’t wanna go back to a transmissive display, but probably will, if QDO is a let down, which I don’t see being the case what so ever. When you get whatever displays you decide to get…please show the shortcomings and strengths of both. Show how diluted the warm sky around the sun is on OLED, vs the QLED which isn’t diluting the specular highlights with nearly the amount of dilution, and is holding onto the color volume.
@@GamingTech-UA-cam Anytime. Thanks for replying. I was just poking fun btw, but being serious at the same time….bc truly the CX leaves me with a lot to desire, and missing aspects I loved about of QLED. I wasn’t expecting really any compromise tbh, as everyone says WRGB is so great. As I said, I’m looking towards QD-OLED. Bc it’s hard to go back to a transmissive tech, after living with self emissive tech, like OLED. I’ve always been pretty satisfied with the contrast perfect black on OLED. It’s just the color, and luminance capabilities is lacking. QDO won’t be much, much brighter, but the colors will be pure. The purest color we’ve seen on consumer tech. That’s what I’m into…along with the hopefully less aggressive ABL. From early impressions, it definitely is punching above what WRGB can do, in terms of FFL, and APL. Last, if the near black chrominance overshoot WRGB suffers from, is fixed with QDO…well, that would put a smile from ear to ear on my face. If QDO isn’t as impressive as I want it to be, I’ll probably pick up a MiniLED or something, to scratch my HDR impact itch.
I do think HDR on GT7 is good but there's still some washed out look to it. Far from the many games I've played but there's still some washed out look on the scenery, cars are amazing , sharp and colorful but stages with vegetation the greens are very bland. In SDR they are way better
I disagree with your view that games that support the HDR calibration should have no HDR in game settings. The HDR calibration gives the game the information about the display's capabilities. But each player can have a different taste on some aspects, for example paper white. It's useful to be able to change that
I agree when we talking about saturation or more shadow details. But Paper White is a main aspect in HDR and should be controlled by the Console/TV because they know their capability better than anyone else.
@@GamingTech-UA-cam some people that play at day may want a brighter picture. I am a purist myself and I have noticed that games usually target a higher paper white than what I want.
Even on my Samsung Q90T calibrated to either 17 clicks or 18 clicks (1300 and 1500 nits) HGIG looks too dim, I have to be able to see the road so DTM Is a must.. I have to say, this game looks last-gen, and the HDR is very lackluster.

Good video as usual. Otherwise simple question should leave white balance on warm2 when switching from hgig mode to dynamic tone mapping on. Thank you
Yes, leave it on warm2
Thank you for your answer I use a lot your settings which perfect if not last question if you can specify me, is it normal this yellowish tint for white balance and warm2 and is it better to take medium or warm1. Thank you
When you switch on tv between DTM (on-hgig), should the ps5 first be calibrated for every single value before doing it? for an exact result
Just for HGiG once!
Do you know if my asus rog swift pg27aqdm has hgig or not🤔
What tv you going to get. Qd sony a95k is rated at 1500 peak brightness
not sue yet
Nice detailed video. I'm just not a big fan of HGIG. It just looks too dark to me and I am all for accuracy.Being too dark for some tracks? I'm not going to constantly change my video settings for each track.Leave it on DTM and be done with it. And DV gaming has been useless so far.
I might do the same, feels very dark, like when i take it off and changes back to hgig i cant see a difference on my lg g1.. But what you mean with DV?
Dolby vision gaming is pretty weak.No big difference, sometimes worse.
@@lewis6720 i actually enjoy the DV on my series x and lg g1 a lot in some games, but some are just not for it!
@@lewis6720 but its weird for me i like sometimes put off game mode on my tv and go to hdr standard with dtm and it seems more smooth almost like it gets some extra frames per second compared to hgig in game mode.
VRR this month let’s go !!!
We don’t know that yet lol
@@cured_bacon647 Well that would be really dumb of Sony to give the 2021 Bravia TV’s VRR in March but not the PS5.
thx 4 info
Listen i normally never ever game outside of game mode on any tv i ever had besides this lg c1 because motion is so good in standard mode and no lag i feel ive got so used to playing in standard mode, now in that mode obv hgig doesnt exist only in game optimizer mode, and i know thats the (correct setting to use) but look nomatter what other setting i use in game mode its to dark period, and theres nothing else that can be done to raise the light output from that mode, so i game with the inaccurate standard mode with tone mapping on, maybe my eyes just dc for accuracy and rather have that nice really good brightness from tone mapping and standard mode, but gaming mode is just to datk and nothing fixes that
I am also very happy with both consoles but I am not happy with the performance mode in HFW
@@GamingTech-UA-cam ich hoffe auch das für hfw noch ein guter Patch kommt zwecks den Performance Mode.
Hi,
I have a HDMI 2.1 monitor can I leave the HDR on to get 4K or does it need to be turned off?
Best settings for scapes also ?
The only problem I'm having with gt7 is there is to much UI in the screen and you can't remove it
Wtf..you cant remove it😟
you CAN remove it in options
You don’t feel like daytime driving in the game in HGIG looks a little dark? DTM brightens up the sky and grass so much then HGIG is just dark and cloudy looking. Also only drive cockpit view maybe that’s why.
I agree with you. Just because a game like GT7 supports the HDR Calibration Menu that doesn't mean HGiG is the best choice
Does this apply to the c9 oled aswell?
Which setting for c9 please
Try the same. I think the C9 was a little bit brighter than my CX
@Gaming Tech ok my guy thanks keep doing what your doing loving the new name also
I'm using -5, think it looks amazing.
Oh no, I'll never have the perfect HDR settings for my CX again if you get a new TV *cry*.
No worries . I keep my cx . The new TV is additional
@@GamingTech-UA-cam That makes me very happy again.
Ich muss es fragen nachdem ich einigen Videos von dir gesehen habe, kannst du Deutsch?
Ja , kann ich.
@@GamingTech-UA-cam Dann kann ich deine Einstellungen auch für meinen C1 nutzten?
P.s mach weiter so!
@@christianbrown4127 Ja Kannst du
For bx 12 clicks ?
I thought we move until we can’t see anymore and then one more click up?
No, not for the LG CX and not for any other TV as well. It's then more than 900cd and that's too much
@@GamingTech-UA-cam Ok
I have c1 oled i skip 2series and go next year maybe lg qd oled😍
No matter what setting im trying on playstation the colours are still dull. It looks better without hdr. Ive swapped hdmi too. Is it a monitor issue? I specifically bought this monitor for hdr too. Its hdr 400 hp 28inch 4k. I used it on my pc too to play elden ring and everything is still greyish. The monitor does not allow me to change brightness or contrast with hdr on
Sorry to say this but everything below 600nits it's not hdr. Just use SDR. You Monitor is not good enough for HDR
Please Keep your OLED 👍
I will. The 2nd Tv is just additional
If I want to play with DTM on do I have to adjust the calibration in the PS5 first with DTM on?
NO! Always with HGiG
@@GamingTech-UA-cam thanks 🙏
Try a samsung TV, so you can test a high performance LED/LCD tv with a higher peak brightness and great gaming features as well. Great video as always my friend.
Thanks Buddy. What do you think will be THE best gaming TV (just LCD) this year ?
@Gaming Tech Either the new Hisense U8 or U9 with MiniLED or the new Samsung high end TVs look good too, I will be reviewing them when they release.
Looking forward to your Video!
Please don't tell me you gonna buy a plain qled! I tested qn95a and was disappointed. Oled still king except having money to test qd oled or micro led 😱
Not sure what but it has to be an update of course. Maybe the G2 is also a good choice
Maybe qd oleds is the feature but prices are high for me this year
Btw at what point in the game or where can u just run like arcade races and make adjust the track settings dark rain etc so far there all set
Thanks 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thanks for the comment. Not sure what TV I should get and I am a little bit afraid of getting disappointed if I go with LCD. Let's see
@@GamingTech-UA-cam Anytime.
Lol this guy is a hardcore gamer he makes me laugh. I’m going to subscribe fuck it 😂
I do think HDR on GT7 is good but there's still some washed out look to it.
@@Petrakeas that’s what the ev setting is for
@@cured_bacon647 I'm just stating that I'm in favor of games having this capability alongside the HDR calibration.
DTM ON for day time gaming, HGIG for Night Time gaming
No. Use HGiG the whole time
Even on my Samsung Q90T calibrated to either 17 clicks or 18 clicks (1300 and 1500 nits)
HGIG looks too dim, I have to be able to see the road so DTM Is a must..
I have to say, this game looks last-gen, and the HDR is very lackluster.
I have oled cx to me it’s to dark with this on
Ich rate HGIG nicht ein zuschalten...
Kein Spiel was auf dem Markt ist, unterstützt das!!
Man verliert einfach zu viel an Details!!
Fe no men al
no one can buy officially this game here in Russia :((
Not even online?
