Fun fact about the upper Barrakka Gardens, those arches used to be roofed, however after an uprising by Maltese priests against Grandmaster Francisco Ximénez de Tejada in 1775, he removed the roof since the rebels used to meet within the arches for their plots :D (by the way, the island you were referring to as Gozo is in fact, Comino. Gozo is a little bit further north and is the second largest island in the archipelago)
Thank you both for the camera work and the clear imagery. You would have loved the St John's Co Cathedral and possibly swapped its cost for the Acquarium dissappointment . Great to see your day trip on the catamaran. You could spend weeks on the three islands and not see everything.
Great Video! Malta is really beautiful. We go there for our autumn vacation since 12 years. About the aquarium: Yes, it is small compared to installations in the US (and elsewhere). But most of the species presented are local, placed in surroundings that you could actually find around the islands when you go scuba diving, and that's where the sea life is the most beautiful. Next time you come back, maybe safe that money and spend it on the fee to visit St. John's Co-Cathedral. It might take your breath away. Thank you for your video. Now I can't wait to got back there.
thank you! That is really nice that all animals there are local, and you are right on how we are blessed in the states with great aquariums. But yes, we will absolutely visit the St. Johns Co-Cathedral next time, we were told by many that we should have went inside haha
Subscribed and thumps up. Great video, looooove it! So glad that you list everything (including price ). I also have a Mavic Air 2. Do you need to apply for a permit to operate in Malta? Did you encounter any issue (people ask you questions...) when you fly your drone?Per EU regulation; drone weight under 250g is ok to fly without a permit. Thanks
Malta is the country that I want to go, but don't have money to provide😌I wish I could go there soon❤️🙏 Thank you for the tour video ma'am and sir.☺️Godbless you both..
@@catandmarcos thank you for encouraging me 😊 Hoping that I will be there soon to have fun too ,but I wish also that there will be an employeer seeking for an employee so I can work there too🥰
Hello, first thank you for this great video I absolutely loved it and it is very useful for ppl preparing their trip to Malta like me Would you like please to share with us the link to the booking of blue lagoon trip?
thank you so much! we're so happy you enjoyed the video :) Here is the link for the blue lagoon trip: www.viator.com/tours/Malta/Discover-the-best-beaches-and-bays-on-the-Sea-Breeze-a-catamaran-under-sail/d4141-86704P5
I also went to swim in Blue Lagoon two weeks ago but was stung by a jellyfish that I didn't even notice, nothing serious, but then I saw another one (beautiful looking, around 10 cm in length) and hastily went out of water not to get back again.
@@catandmarcos There are official tables at Sliema stony beaches warning and informing swimmers of jellyfish, with pictures and instructions if they spot them or are stung by them.
I liked the aquarium but then I did the behind the scenes tour where you get to see the labs and the back of the tanks and it was really intresting see shark eggs etc and the conservation work they do
thank you so much Cat and Marcos it was such an incredible insight to malta as we are traveling as a couple in early september 2023 From Amir and Sabiha 🤗🤗
Hey guys, great video! Can you tell me the car hire company you used please? I'll be going to malta in July and have already looked into car hire but the ones I found are quite expensive thanks 😊
Greetings, I will be in Malta in May, thanks for the information in your videos. Are there catamarans or boats that leave Valletta for the blue lagoon?
That’s so amazing! You’re welcome 😊 I think there are no charters going out from Valletta, since there isn’t really a marina there. However some booking places have arrangements that can pick you up from your hotel/Airbnb in Valletta and bring you to the ferry terminal
Your video was fun to watch. We r going on June for a week. I heard there is a boat trip to Sicily. Is it worth it if you know. If possible, what do u recommend?
thank you so much! and yes there is, i believe it's like a 2 hour ferry ride. Sicily is so big and beautiful that we would recommend going there on its own. We spent an entire week there and had such an amazing time. However, if you are on a time crunch, then depending on where the ferry is going to in Sicily, we would say yes
What month did you travel there? I see the sun sets early but yet there still is a swimming firendly weather, so I am curious. I am going there in a few days and want to know if ai should take my bathing suit😂
we were there in the early part of November. It did set early but I think with the time change, it now sets later. Not 100% sure though. But yes bring your bathing suit! The water there is some of the most clear we have ever seen, and you'll regret not bringing it :) Better safe than sorry
Big mistake skipping St Johns Co cathedral in Valletta. Its GORGEOUS! they have paintings by Caravaggio! You'll have to go back . Bolt is like uber there- very affordable.
haha we tried to fit as much as possible in the two days we had! we were also on a bit of a budget so had to choose between certain things :( trust me though, we will be back for a more comprehensive video when we can afford it :) We LOVED Malta!
I am sorry but if you are making a video, at least make an effort to get the names of the places right (not pronounciation but literally mixing up the names of places!!!!) All it takes is a 2 minute Google search. And since this is a travel video, it is all the more important. Some points I really have to comment about as a local; 1) Malta is not a 2/3 day holiday. Yes we are small, but our main attractions are the historical sites which need at least a week to cover the main sites. 2) St. John's Co-Cathedral (not St. Paul's lol) is a must. It's like going to Rome and skipping out on the Vatican. €15 is totally worth it, and that €40 boat trip is a scam in comparison (you can get to equally beautiful beaches for free) 3) You failed to even mention the Megalithic Temples which are older than the pyramids!!!!! They are a must to visit at least 1 of them. 4) The aquarium and the boat trips are a scam and waste of time and money
Hey, thanks for watching! We did say the aquarium was a waste of money, also not everyone has the time/money to stay an entire week in Malta. The way we travel if you’ve seen our other videos is quick and efficient, and we’re not the biggest fans of historical sites, especially after visiting so many in our previous videos in Greece & Sicily. The boat trip was super convenient and we had such an amazing time. We booked the night before so you can to imagine how difficult it would be to find a comparable option. Also we didn’t even know about the Megalithic Temples, but it doesn’t look like something we would want to do.
Wow, I did not expect the quality of the video to be this good especially the underwater and aerial shots + transitions. Subscribed 👏🏻👏🏻

we rented the car with Hertz. We usually don't rent with Hertz in Europe but we got a super good deal at a very affordable rate, so we went with that
