Its freedom from living in sin, not freedom from Gods law. If a policeman give you forgiveness and grace for driving to fast.......do not mean that you now can drive as fast as you like.
Amen. In addition, don't forget that another part of fulfilling the law meant that he was sinless so he did what only God could do and that is live a sinless life. He lived a sinless life for us to satisfy the demands of the law so that in following him he would become our righteousness. ☺
@Abu taj md mahbub Ul alam for some reason I never got the notification on this comment. Now it's time to answer it. "What does it mean that Jesus fulfilled the law, but did not abolish it?" Answer: Jesus said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished” (Matthew 5:17-18). This important statement of our Lord gives us insight into His mission and the character of God’s Word.
@Abu taj md mahbub Ul alam Jesus’ declaration that He came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets, not to abolish them, obviously contains two statements in one. There is something Jesus did and something He did not do. At the same time, Jesus emphasized the eternal nature of the Word of God. Jesus goes out of His way to promote the authority of the Law of God. He did not come to abolish the Law, regardless of what the Pharisees accused Him of. In fact, Jesus continues His statement with a commendation for those who teach the Law accurately and hold it in reverence: “Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:19). Note the qualities that Jesus attributes to the Word of God, referenced as “the Law and the Prophets”: 1) The Word is everlasting; it will outlast the natural world. 2) The Word was written with intent; it was meant to be fulfilled. 3) The Word possesses plenary authority; even the smallest letter of it is established. 4) The Word is faithful and trustworthy; “everything” it says will be accomplished. No one hearing Jesus’ words in the Sermon on the Mount could doubt His commitment to the Scriptures. Consider what Jesus did not do in His ministry. In Matthew 5:17, Jesus says that He did not come to abolish the Law and the Prophets. In other words, Jesus’ purpose was not to abrogate the Word, dissolve it, or render it invalid. The Prophets will be fulfilled; the Law will continue to accomplish the purpose for which it was given (see Isaiah 55:10-11). Next, consider what Jesus did do. Jesus says that He came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets. In other words, Jesus’ purpose was to establish the Word, to embody it, and to fully accomplish all that was written. “Christ is the culmination of the law” (Romans 10:4). The predictions of the Prophets concerning the Messiah would be realized in Jesus; the holy standard of the Law would be perfectly upheld by Christ, the strict requirements personally obeyed, and the ceremonial observances finally and fully satisfied. Jesus Christ fulfilled the Prophets in that, in His first coming alone, He fulfilled hundreds of prophecies concerning Himself (e.g., Matthew 1:22; 13:35; John 19:36; Luke 24:44). Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law in at least two ways: as a teacher and as a doer. He taught people to obey the Law (Matthew 22:35-40; Mark 1:44), and He obeyed the Law Himself (John 8:46; 1 Peter 2:22). In living a perfect life, Jesus fulfilled the moral laws; in His sacrificial death, Jesus fulfilled the ceremonial laws. Christ came not to destroy the old religious system but to build upon it; He came to finish the Old Covenant and establish the New. Jesus came not to destroy the Law and the Prophets but to fulfill them. In fact, the ceremonies, sacrifices, and other elements of the Old Covenant were “only a shadow of the good things that are coming-not the realities themselves” (Hebrews 10:1). The tabernacle and temple were “holy places made with hands,” but they were never meant to be permanent; they were but “copies of the true things” (Hebrews 9:24, ESV). The Law had a built-in expiration date, being filled as it was with “external regulations applying until the time of the new order” (Hebrews 9:10). In His fulfillment of the Law and Prophets, Jesus obtained our eternal salvation. No more were priests required to offer sacrifices and enter the holy place (Hebrews 10:8-14). Jesus has done that for us, once and for all. By grace through faith, we are made right with God: “He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross” (Colossians 2:14). There are some who argue that, since Jesus did not “abolish” the Law, then the Law is still in effect-and still binding on New Testament Christians. But Paul is clear that the believer in Christ is no longer under the Law: “We were held in custody under the Law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the Law became our guardian to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian” (Galatians 3:23-25, BSB). We are not under the Mosaic Law but under “the law of Christ” (see Galatians 6:2). If the Law is still binding on us today, then it has not yet accomplished its purpose-it has not yet been fulfilled. If the Law, as a legal system, is still binding on us today, then Jesus was wrong in claiming to fulfill it and His sacrifice on the cross was insufficient to save. Thank God, Jesus fulfilled the whole Law and now grants us His righteousness as a free gift. “Know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified” (Galatians 2:16).
@Jay Haich fortunately I know the word of God very well and as Christians we are not to add to or take away from what his word says. The word is very clear that Christ paid the price for our sins and we are to rely on that sacrifice. The sacrifice that he made once for all. If you understood the scriptures then you would understand that.

Go to Jesus Christ. His Holy Spirit will teach you way better than any man! Put your trust in Jesus alone. For more than three years I got Sabbath verses only on the 7th day the first thing I opened my Bible after praying to our LORD. This started to happen after I repented of not giving His sabbaths a thought and going just by what others said. It stopped after I was fully convinced in my mind and started to keep it with all my heart. That is not a coincidence! It is the LORD Himself teaching us! We must all repent and turn to Him.
Anyone noticed? Jesus never uses "Thus says the Lord" like how prophets will use when teaching, but instead, Jesus says "I say to you" when He teaches.

I would respectfully disagree and suggest that the Jews who received the teaching of Mt. 5:17 would have construed Christ's teaching to mean that the law would not be abolished until the temple of Jerusalem was destroyed. The phrase "heaven and earth" in Judaism was an idiom referring to "the place where heaven and earth touched" i.e. the Temple of Jerusalem. Thus when Christ said that the law would not pass until "heaven and earth have passed" He was prophesying and referring to the destruction of the temple of Jerusalem in 70 AD. This is when the Jewish diaspora began and the Jews have not followed the law of Moses like they used to ever since! Again, Emperor Nero destroyed this temple years after Christs teaching which is when I would gently submit that the law was abolished according to Ephesians 2 and the teaching found in the book of Hebrews. In order to live lives of obedience to God we must have a "love that abounds in true knowledge and discernment" according to Phil. 1:9 and the 2nd commandment of Christ. I do not think that we need be cognizant of the law of Moses anymore because of the shed blood of Jesus. I understand this is not the popular teaching but I digress.
Hey I wanted to ask if you can shed some more light on what you mean here. I just began my journey as a disciple and so I found this interesting. If we do not need to be aware of the law of Moses why then would Jesus say he did not come to abolish it. I agree in the sense that we do not need to follow the ceremonial law of Moses with the sacrifices and what since Jesus became that sacrificial lamb and fulfilled that promise but what about the commandments which is also a part of the law? Or is it that you were just referring to the ceremonial part?
Great question. The gospel of Matthew was written specifically to the Jews and it is the ONLY place in the New Testament where we see the idea that the law wont be entirely abolished. Jesus was telling the Jewish people (who observed the law) to KEEP FOLLOWING THE LAW until "heaven and earth have passed away." Those Jews would have understood heaven and earth to mean the Temple of Jerusalem according to their idiom. Amazingly, years laters in 70 AD the temple was in fact destroyed by Nero and the diaspora began. Not only did the Jews not follow the law anymore.. but they couldn't due to their being "flung" throughout the earth. The Jewish people have not followed the law of Moses as it was originally instructed to this very day. In other words, Jesus did not come to IMMEDIATELY abolish the law FOR THE JEWS. @@kmorris3688 Please lmk if this makes sense. See also Eph 2:15-16 and really dig into the book of Hebrews which speaks of how "obsolete" that Law was. Paul even refered to it as a "ministry of death" and a "letter that kills." The Jews where very familiar with the laws, covenants and prophets like Noah's covenant, the laws of Moses and the scriptures of Leviticus. The Jews knew all about Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy which is called the five books of Moses or the Torah as well as all the Old Testament. Jesus Christ didn't come to break or Change any of the old traditional Jewish Laws but to fulfill what was mentioned in the Old Testament. The Jews had their Levite Priest, High Priest and Chief Priest. The Jews had a structured society based on the old traditional Jewish Laws and the different covenants that the prophets like Noah and Moses spoke of. In other words Jesus Christ didn't come to break the old traditional Jewish Laws but Jesus Christ came to fulfill the old traditional Jewish Laws.
! Now God's ONLY law for us is LOVE, which more than fulfills the Mosaic Law: oh hope it means this. Get savend by grace alone trough fate alone in de complete works by jesus christ ( bruised broke and deid on the creoss and rose from the dead on the third day and once you have been reborn in christ you live life by the double law of love. Love god wiht al your hart, mind and soul and love there neighbour as you love yourselve.
This is my current understanding. There was no law before Moses... Abraham was not under the Law. Abraham's righteousness came by faith. The Law came by Moses (not requiring faith, but works, which no mere man could do), and so Jesus has circumvented the Law by fulfilling it perfectly and being put in position to take it out of the way (though it still stands), bringing us back to not being under the Law, but righteousness by faith in God through Jesus. It's very simple, I believe: Faith... works... back to faith. There's more to understand, but this is the barebones of it. Praise the LORD God and his Son, the man, Christ Jesus!
Everything that came after Yehoshua the teacher of what is called the Matthew gospel is of the false christ created after the gospel, after the good news preached in the gospel, that christ is false, a deception its name jesus and its cross never happened except in the man of sins lying epistles, the writings of Paul of tarsus and the rest of the ones who come in the name if jesus and not in the name of God alone as all true lost sheep will. We serve God alone not any christ! I know God, I walk in covenant with God and I Love God. I fear God as well and that is the beginning of Love because until you fear disobeying God and causing God to look upon you in shame so you feel horrible then you can not love Him. I started this walk when I was 32, to look for God. I started to actually begin to find God when I was 39 and sealed myself to God as the gospel tells us to, those of us who listen to the gospel teacher and not the ones who came after him, know to take up the commandments of God and to seek out our roots back to Abraham and to Moses and Yehoshua and the prophets so we become firm in knowledge of what GOD ALONE asked of us. It took me several years of fighting sin and the devil by obeying God. I fought the sin out of me with God's help, by his instructions in the written word. It is a very narrow road and as the mattan/Matthew gospel says very few will find it. We have to fight Satan and the whole world that serves him in sin in order to get out and the one who will help is God alone because we can't trust anyone else. I am with God, God provides for myself and my family and yes there is absolutely evidence BUT not until you absolutely come clean, in thought, word and deed, the absolute opposite of all the lying religions. The gospel was sent down to free us from sin by sending us to our teacher and if you reject it then you are freed from God into sin perpetually and to death spiritually from God which as I can now see is absolutely hell on earth, your light you pretend to have is absolutely darkness caused by your unwillingness to even try to obey God. I speak to 99% of the population. If you can't put everyone first after God and stop yourself from all sin THEN YOUR NOT WORTHY AND YOU ARE ALREADY FINISHED BEFORE YOU EVEN STARTED. So come out of all sun, take up the commandments and begin your battle, call to GOD ALONE, LEARN YOUR ROOTS, BE GOD'S PEOPLE. FIGHT SATAN WHO IS THE SINNERS INNER VOICE, THE CONSCIENCE THAT LEADS YOU TO HURT YOU, that's not you, it's Satan the deceiver. If you come to God and pass the trials cleansing yourself by obedience then GOD WILL BECOME YOUR CONSCIENCE AND YOU WILL LOVE GOD AND HATE SIN, SATAN WILL FLEE FROM YOU. SO there it is. Peace, the ball in in your court Be wary of this world, it is the valley of death, you need God's light and God doesn't dwell with sin or sinners. Not until they begin the journey to stop sin.

"What does it mean that Jesus fulfilled the law, but did not abolish it?"
Answer: Jesus said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished” (Matthew 5:17-18). This important statement of our Lord gives us insight into His mission and the character of God’s Word.

Jesus’ declaration that He came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets, not to abolish them, obviously contains two statements in one.
Wow, I wish I would’ve just skipped Theological studies and come here. Your answer is better than any answer I received in school. Great 👍🏽 job!!
Good explanation.
Superb, Amen, God bless you brother.
Clear and Fantastic explanation, God bless both of you.
Jesus is the proverbial constitution of the Law.
So christians must obey the law. Thank you.
very concise, thank you =- T
A big AMEN to that, real gospel…
Thanks for the better explaination.
Anyone noticed? Jesus never uses "Thus says the Lord" like how prophets will use when teaching, but instead, Jesus says "I say to you" when He teaches.
because he is Lord!
I know this is an old video but what is meant in Colossians 2:14, and what were the handwriting of ordnances that were wiped away nailed to the cross.
This is the ritual laws , the shadows of which Christ was a fulfilling here on earth, example the lamb sacrifice as a symbol of Christ…
@@felixamparo490 so the observance of the feast day sabbaths and animal sacrifices were nailed to the cross. These rituals were called a curse because they disobeyed God’s Law. Daniel 9:10-12
Perfect answer!!
Deut 4:2- do not add to the words which I command you (Moses), nor subtract from them, so as to keep the commandments of YHWH your Elohim, which I command you."
If he's updating, adding , or subtracting, then he is breaking the law mentioned above.
Deut 13:1-7... 😉
True. Only Jesus Christ can explain the Law Of Moses.
Paul even refered to it as a "ministry of death" and a "letter that kills." The Spirit gives life!!!

God’s people say, ‘We don’t need to keep the law anymore.’
But when I read Psalm 1:
But his delight is in
THE LAW OF THE LORD;
and in HIS LAW
doth he meditate day and night.
- PSALM 1:2
Again, God’s people say that we can forget and reject The law of God. But in HOSEA 4:6 The LORD GOD JESUS is talking to His people who have forgotten His law.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast
rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten THE LAW OF THY GOD, I will also forget thy children.
Hosea 4:6
Also, at the end of Romans chapter 3 the apostle Paul makes a very distinct statement.
‘Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.’ (ROMANS 3: 31)
Does The LAW Kill? Does not the Scripture teach us that God's LAW is perfect?
THE LAW OF THE LORD is perfect, converting the soul: THE COMMANDMENT OF THE LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Many preach against keeping God's laws / commandments. But from beginning till the end it is clear from the entire Scriptures that all of God's people have praised God's commandments and God has never told anyone not to keep His commandments but to always abide by His commandments.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Why are you using different thumbnail instead of showing Sam's face right away so that we would know that it's an interview or your own words. This is pretty much Sam's interview. Don't mislead people with your thumbnails.

Any thing that contradicts Gods 10 commandments in any way is false most of the new testament disciples can not give other than flimsy descriptions of what Jesus actually did or said and some things were totally made up years later Jesus was created by God to show the way to Gods Love and forgiveness and not to replace him in any way
John 8:57-59 NIV
[57] “You are not yet fifty years old,” they said to him, “and you have seen Abraham!” [58] “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” [59] At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.
John 10:27-30 NIV
[27] My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. [28] I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. [29] My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. [30] I and the Father are one.”
John 20:26-29 NIV
[26] A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” [27] Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” [28] Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” [29] Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

The Jews where very familiar with the laws, covenants and prophets like Noah's covenant, the laws of Moses and the scriptures of Leviticus.

It's very simple, I believe:
Faith... works... back to faith.
There's more to understand, but this is the barebones of it.
Praise the LORD God and his Son, the man, Christ Jesus!
So when you send Muhammad to HELL, you have hatred in your heart towards your brother, read Luke 6:27-38 in KJV
Muhammad ain't no brother...he's the antichrist in the flesh
Muhammad is not in hell. He's asleep awaiting the second ressurection and judgment day. Revelation 20:1-20
No one went to hell after dead that never find in Bible
Peace, the ball in in your court
Be wary of this world, it is the valley of death, you need God's light and God doesn't dwell with sin or sinners. Not until they begin the journey to stop sin.
Not even a dot 😂

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
