    Galatians 3:10

When you depend on doing the works of the law for salvation..this is the problem but this in no way means that we should not want to do the right things which essentially is to love God and our neighbour...which is the 10 commandments..first 4 show us how to love God...next 6 show us how we love our neighbour...which is what is meant by the 2 greatest commandments.

@Truth Hurts we are supposed to go by what the word of God actually says. Not by what we want it to say.
First of all, he is not only referring to circumcision. Notice in verse 16 he says "by the works of the law." As in plural. He is referring to the law as a whole and if Gods law never changes then #1 why are you not still sacrificing bulls and goats on an altar? Where is your tabernacle? If Gods law never changes, then why aren't you burning down the cities of unbelievers and killing them?

    • @IAMhassentyou-h5w
      @IAMhassentyou-h5w 5 років тому +8

@Truth Hurts why? Because Gods law DOES change as we are in a better, more perfect covenant built on better promises.
The law of Moses was specifically for the nation of Israel which is why you see the laws regarding war and how to judge in court. How to grow their crops and settle disputes and dress. Things that pertain to morality, such as not committing adultery, still apply because Christ and the apostles taught against it. God knows what he's doing and I will take his words over yours.

Everyone is "under the law" before salvation because we are under its judgement. Therefore, nobody can be justified before God by keeping the law.
    Romans 3:19-24
19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
    Righteousness through Faith
21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Only by faith in Jesus Christ is a person justified before God.

An exposition of Romans 10:4, which says: "Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes," will help in understanding what is means that Christians are not under the law. The apostle Paul clarifies the effects of original sin in Romans 2:12, stating "All who sin apart from the law will perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law." All men stand condemned before God, whether they are Jews or not, or to put it another way, whether they have the Law of God or not. Paul also states "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
If we are without Christ, we are justly condemned in God’s sight by the Law that was given to His servant Moses. However, we might argue that those who are not Jewish and therefore do not benefit from the knowledge of the Mosaic Law (including the moral and ceremonial laws), should not be condemned in the same way. This is dealt with by the Apostle in Romans 2:14-15, where he states that the Gentiles have the essence of God’s legal requirements already ingrained and so are just as much without excuse.
The Law is the issue that has to be dealt with in order to bring us into a right relationship with God. "Know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified" (Galatians 2:16). This passage reveals that the Law cannot justify or make righteous any man in God’s sight, which is why God sent His Son to completely fulfil the requirements of the Law for all those who would ever believe in Him.
Christ Jesus redeemed us from the curse that has been brought through the law by becoming a curse for us (Galatians 3:13). He substituted Himself in our place and upon the cross took the punishment that is justly ours so that we are no longer under the curse of the Law. In doing so, He fulfilled and upheld the requirements of the Law. This does not mean that Christians are to be lawless, as some advocate today-a teaching called antinomianism. Rather, it means that we are free from the Mosaic Law and instead under the law of Christ, which is to love God with all of our being and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
Christ became the end of the Law by virtue of what He did on earth through His sinless life and His sacrifice on the cross. So, the Law no longer has any bearing over us because its demands have been fully met in the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith in Christ who satisfied the righteous demands of the Law restores us into a pleasing relationship with God and keeps us there. No longer under the penalty of the Law, we now live under the law of grace in the love of God.

In Luke 16:17 Jesus says, "But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the Law to become void." In Matthew 5:17-18, as part of His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus says, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished."
With these words, Jesus honored the Law as God's Holy Word and declared the Law to be perfect, non-negotiable, and a true prediction of God's work in the future. The fulfillment of the Law is found in Christ Himself and His finished work of redemption.
We are saved by God's grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). Being under grace, believers are not bound by the Law (Romans 6:14), but we have the Holy Spirit actually living in our hearts. The Spirit gives us the ability to "love one another" (John 13:34), and we know that "the one who loves another has fulfilled the law" (Romans 13:8). Christians do not work at fulfilling the Mosaic Law, which Christ fulfilled on our behalf (Matthew 5:17); rather, we fulfill the "law of Christ" by the Spirit's power (Galatians 6:2)

    The purpose of the law
    Galatians 3:24-26
So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
To serve as a teacher until we receive Christ as our Lord and Savior.
    Romans 7:7
What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
To reveal sin but the law cannot change us, nor can it make us holy.

    Galatians 5:21

We are made righteous by what Christ did on the cross. To say we can be made righteous before God by keeping the law is to say that what Christ did on the cross was insufficient. It "nullifies" what Christ did on the cross. To add the keeping of the law to our faith in Jesus is against what the apostles taught us on how to follow Jesus. We follow him by faith. We are justified by faith. Made holy by faith. Read the bible people and stop simply listening to what people say.

As Christians we are under what is known as the law of Christ which Paul describes in Galatians 6:2.
Burden-Bearing and the Law of Christ
The main point of Galatians 6:1-5 is given in a general way in verse 2 and a specific way in verse 1. Verse 2: "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." If a Christian brother or sister is weighed down or menaced by some burden or threat, be alert to that and quickly do something to help. Don't let them be crushed. Don't let them be destroyed. Don't be like the scribes and Pharisees. Jesus said, "They bind heavy burdens hard to bear and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with their finger" (Matthew 23:4). Don't increase burdens. Make them lighter for people. Some of you wonder what you are supposed to do with your life. Here is a vocation that will bring you more satisfaction than if you became a millionaire ten times over: Develop the extraordinary skill for detecting the burdens of others and devote yourself daily to making them lighter.
In this way you fulfill the law of Christ(6:2). That's an odd phrase in a book that says (5:18): "If you are led by the Spirit you are not under the law." And (3:13): "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law." Have we been freed from the curse and burden of the Mosaic law just to be burdened down with a more radical law of Christ? No. The difference is that Moses gave us a law but could not change our hearts so that we would freely obey. Our pride and rebellion was not conquered by Moses. But when Christ summons us to obey his law of love, he offers us himself to slay the dragon of our pride, change our hearts, empower us by his Spirit, and fulfill his law.
That is why, even though Christ's law is more radical than the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, he can say, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:28-30). It is easy because when we are weak, he is strong. It's easy because he produces the fruit of love: "I am crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me" (2:20). Christ never commands us to do anything that he wants us to do on our own. Therefore, every command in the law of Christ is a call to faith. Through faith God supplies the Spirit of Christ (Galatians 3:5); through the Spirit we produce the fruit of love (5:22); through love we fulfill the law of Christ (6:2). Therefore, if you trust him, you will fulfill his law of love. You will devote yourself to lifting the burdens of others.

Third, the sign of the covenant, or sabbath, stands for the whole covenant. To break the sign is to despise the entire covenant. ". . . keep the sabbath . . . for a perpetual covenant."
Fourth, the covenant was made only with the nation of Israel. ". . . the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath . . . It is a sign between me and the children of Israel . . ."
Fifth, the essence of the sabbath commandment was to refrain from all physical work. It had nothing to do with public worship. ". . . whosoever doeth any work . . . The following texts teach not only that the sabbath was the sign of the covenant given at Sinai, but they show the great importance of the sabbath sign as well:
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God Exodus 31:12-18

"CHRIST IS THE END OF THE LAW FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS T0 EVERYONE THAT BELIEVETH" (Rom. 10: 4). Do you ask what that means? It means that Christ is the fulfillment of the law, the satisfaction of the law, and the termination of the law to all who believe on him unto life everlasting. It means that there is no righteousness to be had, of any kind, to any degree, by our own works of obedience to the law. The only way anyone can have righteousness before God is by faith in Christ. He is "THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" (Jer.23:6). And we are the righteousness of God in him (Jer. 33:16; II Cor. 5:21).
"YE ARE BECOME DEAD TO THE LAW BY THE BODY OF CHRIST" (Rom, 7:4), Do you ask what that means? It means that if you are a believer, if Christ died for you, insofar as the law of God is concerned you are dead. It can make no demands upon you. It can require nothing from you. It can do nothing to you. If you and I are in Christ by faith, we have no covenant with the law, no curse from the law, and no commitment to the law.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE ARE AGAINST THE LAW. God forbid! We are not antinomians, We delight in the law of God (Rom.7:22).
The real antinomian is the legalist who pretends to keep the law. He lowers the standard of the law to the measure of his own obedience. Otherwise he could find no comfort in his obedience. The key to understanding the relationship between the Christian and the Law is knowing that the Old Testament law was given to the nation of Israel, not to Christians. Some of the laws were to reveal to the Israelites how to obey and please God (the Ten Commandments, for example). Some of the laws were to show the Israelites how to worship God and atone for sin (the sacrificial system). Some of the laws were intended to make the Israelites distinct from other nations (the food and clothing rules). None of the Old Testament law is binding on Christians today. When Jesus died on the cross, He put an end to the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:15).
In place of the Old Testament law, Christians are under the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2), which is to “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind…and to love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39). If we obey those two commands, we will be fulfilling all that Christ requires of us: “All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:40). Now, this does not mean the Old Testament law is irrelevant today. Many of the commands in the Old Testament law fall into the categories of “loving God” and “loving your neighbor.” The Old Testament law can be a good guidepost for knowing how to love God and knowing what goes into loving your neighbor. At the same time, to say that the Old Testament law applies to Christians today is incorrect. The Old Testament law is a unit (James 2:10). Either all of it applies, or none of it applies. If Christ fulfilled some of it, such as the sacrificial system, He fulfilled all of it.
“This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3). The Ten Commandments were essentially a summary of the entire Old Testament law. Nine of the Ten Commandments are clearly repeated in the New Testament (all except the command to observe the Sabbath day). Obviously, if we are loving God, we will not be worshipping false gods or bowing down before idols. If we are loving our neighbors, we will not be murdering them, lying to them, committing adultery against them, or coveting what belongs to them. The purpose of the Old Testament law is to convict people of our inability to keep the law and point us to our need for Jesus Christ as Savior (Romans 7:7-9; Galatians 3:24). The Old Testament law was never intended by God to be the universal law for all people for all of time. We are to love God and love our neighbors. If we obey those two commands faithfully, we will be upholding all that God requires of us......

I find Christianity very hypocritical, who gives you the right to decide what you do and don't follow. Jesus's message was pure and perfect and surely you as a Christian would want to follow in his footsteps and actions? Christians do not even follow the ten commandments, they create idols and statues of Jesus and Mary, consume swine and do not have laws on segregation between man and woman. Christianity was tainted the day Paul had this 'so-called' vision, and changed the teachings of Jesus. I'm sorry but Paul did not even know Jesus, he was merely a Jew that was sick of his teachings and found them too strict. There is a reason why Judaism and Islam are the way they are, they remain strong their foundations in the commandments and have never been tampered with, Christianity and the Bible has been rewritten and changed multiple times. There is a reason why Christianity is the easiest and most liberal religion to follow, it clearly has the smallest set of rules and it is not a way of life in anyway, please go read the Old Testament and see its beauty and see the way it portrays how we truly please God. In oppose to this hippy story 'New Testament'.

TheAnalyst KR who gives us the right to follow the teachings of Paul? is that what you're really saying? As Christians we follow what the entire New Testament tells us because the gospels are defined by the rest of the New Testament. If you are not a Christian yourself then how could you possibly know that? There's a reason why there are 27 books in the New Testament and not just 4. We believe what we believe and it's not up for debate with non-believers.

TheAnalyst KR Paul as well as John James and Peter also taught against sin so it's not a liberal religion. It's become a liberal religion to some because there are people who taint what the Bible says. Romans 6 is very clear when Paul tells us that we should not continue in sin simply because we are under grace. There are two different covenants in the Bible and that's how we understand it. That's why there's an Old Testament and a New Testament. If you don't understand that then how can you understand the rest of what the Bible says? God's words are pure but man is evil. Paul was an apostle of Jesus Christ and his words are the inspired word of God. Just as much as any other writer in the Bible. That's what we believe.

The Judaizer would say that if we claim to be under grace that we are saying it's ok to sin. Much to the contrary. Romans 6 tells us that we should not continue in sin so that grace can abound. Roman's 6 also tells us that sin will not have dominion over you because you are not under law but under grace. The law cannot break sins authority over a person. Grace is what does that. We are called to walk in the Spirit and when we do that, we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Not by keeping the law. By walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5).

      @@TatureBud Let's have bible study.
Gal. 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
So how do we not fall into sin? By keeping commandments? No. What does he say here? By walking in the Spirit.
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
So there's a war going on right? Between our flesh that doesn't want to submit to God and the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
the Spirit leads regenerate persons, and teaches them to walk by faith in Christ.
A person who is led by the Spirit is not only delivered from the law in fact, but delivered from its condemnation. We are not free to sin because we are not under the law, but instead free to live a righteous life before God. Our inner nature is changed (Romans 6) and we are no longer under the bondage of sin. We are slaves to righteousness with the inner desire now to please God. Again, not by keeping commandments but by walking in the Spirit.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
So we know what sin is. The new testament here defines it for us.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
When we choose to walk in the Spirit, this is what will show in our life. There is no law against those things.
24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
If a person belongs to Christ, they will not live in sin. Because we are a new creation in Christ our desires have now changed.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

At the root of legalism is the sin of pride, because the legalist thinks that he is able to commend himself to God by his own good deeds. Invariably, he is only looking at externals, not at his heart. Also, the legalist’s pride motivates him to exalt himself in the sight of others by his outward behavior, again neglecting to see the corruption of his own heart. Thus legalism denies human depravity and exalts human ability. As such, it is opposed to the gospel of God’s grace. That’s why both Jesus and Paul clashed with the legalists.
Jesus hates legalism because it does not deal with the condition of our hearts before God.
Christianity is primarily a matter of the heart. Everything flows from a heart relationship with God, who transforms our hearts when He regenerates us. The Jewish religious leaders seemingly were seeking after God, but in reality they were self-seeking. They didn’t see themselves as sinners in need of a Savior. They saw themselves as good people because they kept the Law. But in reality, they didn’t keep the Law because they didn’t apply it on the heart level. Thus, Jesus in effect said that if they would be as careful about clean hearts as they were about clean hands, then they would be what they ought to be.
The structure of our text is that in 11:37-41 we have the setting and overall theme, that legalism puts the emphasis on the external to the neglect of the internal. Then, in 11:42-44 Jesus pronounces three woes on the Pharisees in which He sets forth some of the specific problems with legalism. At this point, an expert in the Jewish law speaks up in self-defense, pointing out that Jesus’ remarks not only condemn the Pharisees; they also insult the lawyers. Rather than apologizing, Jesus launches into a series of three more woes on the lawyers (11:46-52). The result was not repentance, but rather increased hostility on the part of the Pharisees and lawyers in an attempt to trap Jesus in something He might say (11:53-54).
The overall theme: Legalism puts the emphasis on the external to the neglect of the internal (11:37-41).

There have always been groups of Christians who believe that in order to honor God’s authority in the Old Testament we must continue to obey the food laws and other ceremonial laws, lest we be found in disobedience. There is a good impulse in this and a profoundly bad impulse in this. The good impulse is the desire to obey God. There’s nothing wrong with that. That belongs to what it means to be a Christian. The bad impulse is the failure to obey Christ who teaches us how to obey God in regard to the Old Testament.
So, the good impulse starts, perhaps, with a text like Matthew 5:17-18. Jesus says, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.” And the good impulse puts the emphasis on every dot, every iota of the law standing until the earth passes away. And the bad impulse neglects the words, I have come “to fulfill them,” and the words, “until all is accomplished.”
In other words, the bad impulse fails to see in Jesus the kind of fulfillment and the kind of accomplishment of the Law and the Prophets that God always intended in the Old Testament as the consummation and the end of the ceremonial laws. So, the effort to hold on to the prohibition of eating pork is, in effect, a refusal to submit to God’s plan for the fulfillment of the Law in Jesus.

It is very clear that this chapter of Romans 14 is speaking about "FASTING" for the Lord!

We cannot pick what day is sabbath!
The Bible says the "The Lord's Day"

      What CONFUSION!!!
My God is a God of order!
Do you know what would happen if someone was found breaking the
4th commandment under the Mosaic law?
They were STONED TO DEATH 💀 for breaking the sabbath day!
      👉(Exodus 31:14)
How inconsistent would that make God?
From stoning sabbath breakers, to now allowing them to pick there own sabbath 🤔????????
      ☝️How inconsistent!
For I am the LORD, I change not!
      (Malachi 3:6)
I can give a very long list of scriptures that prove God's Holy Sabbath Day MUST be on the 7th day of the week!!!
But all you can come up with is a twisted interpretation of Romans 14?
According to Bible you need 2 or 3 scriptures/ witnesses to establish any kind of doctrine!!!
So can you please prove to me, what day of the week is???????
      "The Lord's Day" (Rev.1:10)
      🤔Using 2 or 3 scriptures?
I will gladly show you the scriptures😃

@abcdefg The thing is that most of the time, you understans the gospel. You are an intelligent fellow and I do have respect for the research you do. The bible is God's holy word. Every part is true.
If you make the gospel the center of how you live your life and how you act towards others, please continue sharing the gospel with others. It is only by the sacrifice of the Messiah that we are saved. He alone atones and circumcizes the heart. Ephesians 2:8, Revelation 3:20, Deuteronomy 30:6, Romans 6:23.
Historically, the Roman Empire tried to take Christianity and claim it as their own religion. Sunday was the day the Romans worshipped their gods. When our people revolted against Hadrian, the Romans took us captive and required us to observe all their paganism. Then they took Christianity and uprooted everything Jewish and made it their own. This can't be what Paul was talking about in terms of that we are under grace. The answer as to why is found in the bible:
Deuteronomy 28:64 - "Then the Lord will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship other gods-gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your ancestors have known.
In Deuteronomy 28:64 - 68, God clearly told us what would happen from the time Titus destroyed the temple in 70 AD through the second century.
Deuteronomy 32 describes how God would deal with our people for falling away from his instructions. Deuteronomy 32:31 describes how just like our God delivered us to our enemies that their "rock" (idols and gods) is not like our Rock.
That verse shows so much meaning not just to the enemies which Israel faced before they entered the promised land. The gods of the Roman Empire represented "rocks" that were not like "The Rock".
Furthermore Ezekiel 36:25 - 27 states "25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
God made his promise that we would be cleansed from idolatry as part of Salvation and that his people would be a light to the world so that Salvation reaches the ends of the earth - Isaiah 49:6.
So does that mean that us believers in Yeshua (Jesus), who only believe that Salvation is by being saved by grace and not by the works of the law, follow the very thing that caused our people to be captive and that was rooted in worshipping idols? Certainly not.
The Sunday Sabbath was rooted in idolatry and invented by the Roman Empire and sustained through the Catholic church. Thr Catholics also teach we must do good deeds to go to heaven. Was it not the blood of the Messiah that redeemed us and the only way?
Yet, people encourage us to go to church on Sunday, and celebrate easter and Christmas. In the fourth century and beyond both gentiles and Jews stood against it and were persecuted still. I encourage those same people who encourage believers who go to church on Sunday and celebrate Easter and Christmass to pop open a history book and learn the origins of all three of those days. Then they ought to read 1 Corinthians 10. God warns people not to celebrate anything rooted in paganism. The Roman empire persecuted Christians and then decides in the fourth century under Constantine (who would be Jewish by blood because his mother was a Messianic Jew) to paganize it. The paganism was very dark.
So everytime I hear pastors encouraging Christians to go to church on Sunday and celebrate Christmass and easter: this is what they say: lets fellowship together and tell others to take a day of rest and turn a blind eye to history and the fact that all three traditions are rooted in idolatry, antisemitism, and horrible corruption.
God did not make a covenant with the Roman empire. So why are we following it? Why do people keep the Sabbath on Sunday?

Why do we accept the writings of the apostle Paul as believers?
The apostles not only accepted the Old Testament and Jesus' Word's as authoritative, they also began to see that their writings were on the same authoritative level. Being led by the Holy Spirit, they believed they were speaking for Christ. The Apostle Paul, for example, wrote thirteen letters that have been recognized as Holy Scripture by the Christian church. Who was this man? What evidence do we have to call Paul's writings Scripture?
    Who Was Paul?
We have no physical description of Saul of Tarsus given to us in Scripture. Early tradition says that he was a small man with a bald head. No matter what he looked liked, his writings have become part of the Word of God as found in the New Testament.
He was born Saul of Tarsus - a city which is in modern-day Turkey. Tarsus had been part of the Greek world for some time. Although the family of Saul were Jews, Saul himself was a Roman citizen.
While still a young man Saul traveled to Jerusalem to train as a Rabbi. In Jerusalem, he became acquainted with a group of people who believed Jesus of Nazareth to be the Messiah. Saul relentlessly persecuted these people while all the time thinking that he was serving God.
The Conversion Of Saul Of Tarsus
While heading for Damascus to further jail believers in Jesus, Saul had a blinding vision that knocked him to the ground. The voice that spoke to Saul identified Himself as Jesus of Nazareth - the one whom he had been persecuting. Thus began one of the great turnarounds in history. The greatest antagonist of the Christian faith - Saul of Tarsus - became its greatest missionary - the Apostle Paul. During his lifetime he penned thirteen different works that have become part of the New Testament. It is impossible to overestimate the influence that Paul played in the spread of the Christian faith.
He Believed His Message To Be Divine
The first thing that must be noticed is that Paul believed his message to be divine. He wrote.
If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord (1 Corinthians 14:37).
He wrote to the church at Thessalonica.
And for this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received from us the word of God's message, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe (1 Thessalonians 2:13).
    Paul Spoke Of My Gospel
Paul spoke of "my gospel." He said the preaching of Jesus Christ had been kept secret but now had been revealed.
Now to him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith (Romans 16:25,26).
However, believing to have a divine message does not make it so. What evidence do we have of this message having been sent from God?
Paul Received Direct Revelation From The Lord
The Bible teaches that Paul received direct revelation from God. Paul wrote.
Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? (1 Corinthians 9:1).
After an encounter with the ascended Jesus on the Damascus road, Paul had it explained by Ananias:
The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know his will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of his mouth. For you will be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard (Acts 22:14,15).
    Disobeying His Writings Brings Discipline
Paul said that anyone who disobeyed his writings was to be disciplined by the local church. He wrote.
If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he will be put to shame (2 Thessalonians 3:14).
    To the Corinthians he wrote.
I already gave you a warning when I was with you the second time. I now repeat it while absent: On my return I will not spare those who sinned earlier or any of the others, since you are demanding proof that Christ is speaking through me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you (2 Corinthians 13:2-3).
    Paul also wrote.
If anybody thinks he is a prophet or spiritually gifted, let him acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord's command. If he ignores this, he himself will be ignored (1 Corinthians 14:37,38).
His Writings Were Considered Scripture During His Lifetime
The final point is that the New Testament recognized Paul's writing as Scripture. Peter wrote:
Our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which some things are hard to understand, which those who are untaught and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the rest of the Scriptures (2 Peter 3:15,16).
The writings of Paul complete the New Testament. He was the chosen instrument to explain the meaning of the two comings of Jesus Christ.
    Summary
Saul of Tarsus was a great enemy of the church. However he was converted on the road to Damascus while in the midst of persecuting Christians. He became the Apostle Paul - the greatest missionary the church has ever seen.
Paul was given the task of explaining the ministry of Christ to the Gentile (non-Jewish) world.
We find that he received direct revelation from the Lord. Paul also believed his message to be divine. The Apostle Peter confirmed Paul's words as Scripture. He was God's chosen instrument to reveal much about the central truths of the Christian faith. Paul also explained the necessity of the two comings of Christ.

    1:17-
Do we have a reason and a foundation for what we are saying?
    Yes.
The good reason is that we must read the Bible in terms of its storyline,
in terms of its covenantal development.
So, though there are many covenant dispensations in the Bible, (for our purpose here) there was the Old Covenant made with Israel, which had certain requirements.
And those requirements that were given to Israel set them apart from the nations, distinguished Israel from the nations.
So, we have the Old Covenant and then the New Covenant in Jesus Christ.
That New Covenant was prophesied in Jeremiah 31, Ezekiel 36, and other passages as well.
When we read the whole Bible and when we read the Old Covenant in light of the New, we see that the Old Covenant has passed away.
Christians are no longer under the Old Covenant.
They are no longer under the stipulations, the commands, the prescriptions in that Old Covenant.
    The New Covenant is new.
So, NONE of the commands in the Old Testament are binding in and of themselves because the whole covenant has passed away as a package.
We are under the New Covenant entirely.
So, really the question is why we keep ANY of those covenants in the Old Covenant?
Now, “Why do we avoid some”, but “Why do we keep some of them”? And we do keep some of them, don't we? Some of them are repeated in the NT. …..
Is there rationale in what the New Testament writers are doing?
I think the most helpful way to think of it actually is that the NT writers argue that we are under now, what Paul calls, “the law of Christ,” in Galatians 6:2 and 1 Corinthians 9:20-21, we are NOT under the law of Moses, but we are under the law of Christ.

What is “the law of Christ” fundamentally?
Galatians 5:14 - the law of Christ is the law of love.
And that is what Jesus taught, too. That is in Paul in Galatians.
But Jesus taught, in Matthew 22, how to summarize what the law is about ethically? It is about loving God and loving your neighbor.
And then both Jesus and Paul and other New Testament writers UNPACK what that love is: What does love look like? Well, if you love, you honor your father and mother. If you love, you don’t steal. If you love, you don’t murder, and you don’t commit adultery.
So, some of those commands from the OT pass over, not surprisingly.
Some of those commands are still required for today, but they are required:
NOT BECAUSE it is part of the Old Covenant
BUT BECAUSE the NT “indicates” that they are part of “the law of Christ.”
    -----
So, when we read the Scripture, we are not being arbitrary or whimsical or just picking up the commands we want to obey.
We are actually being faithful to what the Bible as a whole teaches us.
We are reading the Bible in light of the whole story, in light of the fulfillment that is in Jesus Christ.
The nation of Israel was intended to be in force for a certain period of time. It was the state and the church.
But NOW the church of Jesus Christ is in every nation and every people group.
And the commands and the laws that are required are different than the laws for the small little nation (Israel) that was political and church entity.
What God requires of us in the New Covenant is clear.
It fundamentally calls us to is to love one another.
It is pretty remarkable when we read the NT, which is NOT filled with detail regulations.

The NT focuses on love of God and love of neighbor, and then, it sketches in for us, “OK, here is what love looks like in broad strokes.”
But we are fundamentally called upon to imitate Jesus Christ, to follow in His footsteps.
We see what the love of God is like in the Cross of Jesus Christ and in the self-giving love for others, and that is what God calls us to do as Christians.

@Vincent James it is true that man can obey God's laws, but we must also have faith in Messiah. It is Faith in his blood that cleanses us from the sin when we do not keep the Commandment. Even though a man can keep the Commandments in the Old Testament when he fell short he needed a sacrifice to cover his sin but nothing took his sin away until Jesus came as the Messiah. His blood takes away our sins and delivers us from death so we are redeemed from the curse of the law. We are not redeemed from the law itself, but we are redeemed from the curse of the law by him taking death and our place like the sacrifice did.

@Vincent James what does Passover represent? How is man forgiven of sin? God said the wages of sin is death. We cannot work our way to salvation. What do you believe the sacrificial system in the high priest was all about? It was about man sin separating him from God and that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. Christ shed his blood as the Lamb of God to take away my sinned and there are types and shadows of that in the Old Testament. There are different theories of the atonement. Christus Victor is less of him dying in our place and more him dying at the hands of sinful man but stripping the power of the enemy in the process.

Not that we should change them. They are pure.
As Paul said we are grafted into Israel whose root is Jesus. We become fellow citizens v19
V14 & v15 show Christ destroyed the partition of hostility which are found in the commandments of dogmas. Dogmas are man made decrees that Christ objected to when they went against Truth.
Like a Jew not being able to associate with a gentile...a lie from men that was a tradition the Jews thought to be true.
Read it if your heart wants truth.
We become one new man...not a spiritual Israel & ' the Jews' as two separate groups. That is a false dogma
      Eph 2:12-19 KJV 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

  • @kennycouch6135
    @kennycouch6135 5 років тому +5

The NT clearly teaches we as Christian's are not under the law
Romans 6:14 is one clear example of that: For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
However, many see grace as a license to live any way they want to. So many non Christian cults have perverted the gospel of grace and made sin ok.
Paul clearly states that grace is not license to sin.
Romans 6:1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?
So the answer is NOT to be disobedient to the true teachings of the apostles and put ourselves under the law. The answer is to understand the truth of what grace is for it is grace that saves (Ephesians 2:8,9) and grace that Christ came to bring (John 1:14,17).

  • @kennycouch6135

As opposed to the blessing, which is grace, the Law is a curse upon all mankind, none of whom can possibly fulfill its requirements. While the Law itself is perfect and holy, those who try to justify themselves before its holy Author bring not His blessing, but His curse upon themselves. The Bible itself tells us what the curse of the Law is: “All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.’ Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, ‘the righteous will live by faith.’ The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, ‘The man who does these things will live by them.’ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree’” (Galatians 3:10-13).
What we must understand from this passage is that the curse is not the Law. The curse is the penalty levied for not keeping the Law. The “Book of the Law” refers to the covenant laws that God made with His people during the time of Moses. The Law can point out where we fail and fall short of God’s will, but it cannot pronounce us righteous; that was not its purpose.
In Galatians 3 the apostle Paul is telling us that everyone who does not keep the Law perfectly is cursed by it (Deuteronomy 27:26; Galatians 3:10). The reason is that no one can obey the Law perfectly. In fact, there were over 600 laws the Jews had to keep to be right in the eyes of God. The breaking of even one commandment put a person under condemnation. Trying to achieve salvation through obedience to the Law is futile. For example, we all regularly break the first and greatest commandment by failing to love God first with all our hearts, minds and strength (Matthew 22:37-38). As a result, everyone has broken the commandments, and everyone is cursed.
The Law demands perfection-an impossibility because we’re all sinful (Romans 3:10, 23). As a result, all who try to live by the Old Law were under a divine curse. But the good news is that Jesus Christ “redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us” (Galatians 3:13). Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice on the cross when He bore God’s curse. Paul explains how in his letter to the Romans: “God presented [Jesus] as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in His blood. He did this to demonstrate His justice, because in His forbearance He had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished-He did it to demonstrate His justice at the present time, so as to be just and the One who justifies those who have faith in Jesus” (Romans 3:25-26). The curse of the Law fell on Christ on our behalf so that the righteousness of God could fall on us, though we did not deserve it (2 Corinthians 5:21).

    Galatians 2:11-21
Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; 12 for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. 13 And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. 14 But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, "If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you [1] compel Gentiles to live as Jews? 15 We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, 16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. 17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! 18 For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. 19 For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain."

Some of what you say may be taken out of context to make your point. For instance, what about "for the Law is holy and righteous and good", and "do we then annul the Law because of Messiah? God forbid! May it never be! On the contrary, we establish/uphold the Law!" Also, what about Hebrews 8:8-10, which says that, as part of the New Covenant, the "Law has been written on our hearts, and in our minds", and are you really sure that it IS the Sinai Covenant that was "obsolete, growing old and ready to vanish"? What about the Covenant of Moab, given in Deuteronomy, "deuteros" meaning SECOND, (Greek) and "nomos", meaning LAW? We ALL KNOW that keeping the Law does NOT purchase our eternal salvation! Nor does it PERFECT us! Eternal life is a FREE GIFT! The WAGES of SIN, (transgression of the Law) is death...we work for death and we EARN it! We are CALLED and EQUIPPED to WALK AS HE WALKED! He walked in obedience to the Law! Messiah Yeshua kept the 7th day Sabbath, He kept the Feasts of YHVH, NOT "Jewish" Feasts, but YESHUISH FEASTS! We will ALL be keeping the 7th day Sabbath in the Millennial Kingdom, as well as the NEW MOONS and SUKKOT! And, of course, celebrating the Passover Memorial! Messiah Yeshua is the Passover Lamb...NOT the easter/Ishtar ham! He is "the Lamb who TAKES AWAY the SIN of the world"! He doesn't JUST COVER sin, like the animal sacrifices did...which had to be repeated over and over again! Scripture says that He takes away sin, (transgression of the Law), as far as the East is from the West! How far is that? If you go East, you will NEVER go West! NOT unless you turn around and go in the opposite direction! So, that's pretty far! The Spring Feasts WERE a shadow of Messiah Yeshua's FIRST appearing to provide salvation for the world, when He died on Passover, as the "SUFFERING SERVANT", He was the Unleavened Bread, He rose on First Fruits, the Holy Spirit was given to INDWELL believers on SHAVUOT! Let us CELEBRATE HIS FULFILLMENT OF THOSE PROPHETIC FEASTS! The FALL FEASTS ARE a SHADOW OF Messiah Yeshua's RETURN< when we celebrate HIM as the CONQUERING KING OF YOM TERUAH, the SACRIFICE AND the SCAPEGOAT of YOM KIPPUR, AND WHEN WE GO INTO THE WEDDING CHAMBER WITH HIM AS HIS BRIDE ON SUKKOT! HALLELUJAH! The Feasts are HOLY, SET APART, REHEARSALS! If you were going to be wed, and you invited members of the wedding party to the rehearsal, and they said to you, "DO WE HAVE TO BE THERE?", would you think that they didn't want to know what was going to go on at the real ceremony? We are supposed to PROCLAIM HIS DEATH until He returns! NOT His birth! His birth WAS supernatural, but He was born as a human being, in a body of flesh...it is/was HIS DEATH that (He was BORN TO DIE) CONQUERED SIN and Satan, NOT His birth! NONE OF US HAS ALL THE ANSWERS! WE ALL have a piece of the answer puzzle! Some have more pieces than others now, but they must put them in place as they see fit! Some pieces have been put in the wrong place, because they look like they ALMOST fit! But we won't be able to see that clearly until almost at the end of the puzzle putting together session! And some people hoard puzzle pieces! Did you ever put together a jigsaw puzzle, with several hundred or a thousand pieces? More to say, about "the Law being a "pedagogue" to lead us to Messiah"...well, what is a "pedagogue"? It is/was a mature person who was hired by parents to accompany their child daily, to tutor the child and show the child how to behave properly, NOT necessarily academics...when the child grew to adulthood, he/she would most likely "be like his/her Master/pedagogue"...and the parents did NOT then BAN the pedagogue and tell the child to forget everything that the MASTER/PEDAGOGUE taught him/her! NO WAY! The child would grow into a fine, upstanding member of Godly society! NOT the WORLD's idea of society! Anyway, I gotta go now...I have spent enough time of this today. I hope that you had a blessed and meaningful Passover REMEMBRANCE and that you are enjoying an UNLEAVENED time of RENEWAL AND REFRESHING UNDER THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB, YESHUA, WHO TAKES AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD! Baruch B'Shem Yeshua!

Jennifer Schmidt if you read the scriptures above you would realize that 1st Timothy 1:9 and 10 show the purpose of the law which is for unbelievers. There is a purpose for the law and the law is good but if you try to be justified before God by keeping it, then you are using it for a purpose that it's not intended to be used for. When Hebrews speaks of the old Covenant which is being made obsolete, it is talking about the Covenant of Moses. If you read Hebrews carefully that's exactly what it's talking about. That's why we have an Old Testament and a New Testament. An Old Covenant and a New Covenant. The New Covenant that Jesus spoke about in Luke 22:20.

Jennifer Schmidt you are taking the Law and using it for a purpose that it is not intended for. In the scripture that you quoted, (Romans 3:31) where he says we establish the law, did you ever stop to look at the verses that precede it? Verses 21-23 says....But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
The righteousness of God has been revealed which is APART from; SEPARATE from; has NOTHING TO DO WITH the law. There is a purpose for the law and that purpose is for unbelievers so that when Judgment Day comes they will be more accountable to God. The Apostle Paul contended with people like you very strongly. People that he called the 'people of the circumcision' or were also known as judaizers. The gospel that the New Testament speaks about is the gospel of faith and we are justified by faith before God. Just as Abraham was justified by faith before the law ever came into being.

@@steveparks2976 I was just going to let this go, but how do you discern who believers are from unbelievers, since most "New Testament" only people are out there doing the same things as the unbelievers? Do you think that it's okay, then, as several other people have asked, to kill/murder, steal, lie & cheat and commit adultery, lust or elicit lust from others, or even work on the 7th day Sabbath and make others work on Sabbath? To me, that's NOT very loving! You say that "the Law is for unbelievers", and then when they read it, or hear it, what do they do then? If they REPENT, do they just say, "I'm forgiven, now I can go back and do all those things with a clear conscience, because Gentile Jesus paid the penalty for my sin/s"! And since He is NOT really the Passover Lamb, but is the Ishtar ham, He really didn't take away the power of sin, so I can continue to transgress the Law". The "Judaizers" were those who Rav Sha'ul, Paul, contended with because they said that Gentiles had to be circumcised to change their ethnic identity in order to be saved! We ALL know full well that NOBODY is saved by "keeping the Law", particularly the sacrificial aspects of the "Law". And did you read the part about the Moab Covenant, given in Deuteronomy, deuteros meaning "second" and nomos meaning "law", being the "Law that was added because of transgressions" and being also, "the law that was becoming obsolete and was passing away"? That's because it included the earthly Levitical priesthood, the Tabernacle and the Sacrificial system, which made it possible for ancient Israel to exist in YHVH"s presence without being wiped off the face of the earth...which is what YHVH wanted to do to Israel when He saw the golden calf! The reason it was written that way is because the Temple was STILL STANDING when that was written! The remnant of Israel who still lived in the area of the Temple were still making sacrifices at that time, even after Messiah died and the veil in the Temple was rent from top to bottom, opening the way into the Holy of Holies in heaven, the very throne room of YHVH! The Temple was NOT destroyed until 70 CE! That's why Messiah would be of no effect for those who became circumcised to change their ethnic identity, as they would no doubt have been required to go into the Temple and make sacrifices! I am NOT even "Jewish", but Yeshuish! I am a Messianic Gentile who is GRAFTED INTO THE GOOD< CULTIVATED OLIVE TREE OF REDEEMED, BELIEVING REMNANT "Israel". Gentiles are NOT their own "new gentile olive tree"! Sorry! Sad for you, but true for me! I've got news for you, there are some ethnic "Jews", who also think that the "Law has been done away with". And like Anne Graham Lotz, who says, "just give me 'Jesus' "...then we all just do our own thing...we can 'heal' people in his name, and 'cast out demons in his name', and do many other marvelous works, and what is He going to say? "Go away from Me, I never knew you, you LAWLESS Ones"! We profane the Sabbath, lust, cheat, lie, commit adultery, steal, kill, rape, kidnap, etc., etc. and we are still "okay", because Gentile, Aryan "Jesus" COVERED IT ALL! He redeemed us TO obey, NOT FROM Obedience! We were ALL serving SATAN before our New Birth! Satan is the ruler of this world system! I guess if you don't have anything constructive to offer, then you start name calling and accusing! What about "for the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat, therefore, do what they say, but don't do what they do...for they say and do not"? Some say that Messiah Yeshua was only speaking to the "Jews" at that time, however, I need you to tell me how it is that Gentiles, being wild branches, grafted in, contrary to nature, just accept Gentile, Aryan Jesus as their Savior and aren't called to "walk as He walked"? Do you know anything about grafting? In nature, good branches are grafted into wild root stock, because wild roots are cold and winter hardy, heat and drought tolerant, and insect and dis-ease resistant! But what have we here? We have WILD BRANCHES being grafted into the GOOD, CULTIVATED OLIVE TREE of REDEEMED BELIEVING REMNANT ISRAEL...NOT apostate, backsliding, disobedient "Israel"! Call me all the names that you like, if it makes you "feel" better about yourself! If I were really doing what you say I am doing, then I truly need to be corrected...but My Master & Savior is the ONE to do it! So many others have given a truly good defense of the Gospel as the "Law written on the heart" instead of on tablets of stone! What is written on your heart? And I ask you why did Yeshua let the woman caught in adultery off the hook? He told her, "go and sin no more, lest something worse happen to you". First of all, adultery is one of the commandments. Secondly, what could possibly be worse than being stoned to death? And then, she didn't commit adultery by herself! She had a partner! But the Pharisees only brought the woman! It was a "good old boys club"! The man was just being a man! It's what men do...they lust and they cheat! I've heard it so many times, it makes me puke! 1 John 3:4, "for SIN is transgression of the Law". Being eternally separated from the Father is worse than being stoned to death in the flesh! And didn't the man deserve the death penalty?! Don't you see why "church" is impotent in the world? Because it is LAWLESS! I recently read about the Welsh revival, when people were repenting and turning to the Savior in droves, and the police didn't have anything to do, BECAUSE EVERYONE WAS BECOMING LAW ABIDING! Someone in early American said, "obey God, or be ruled by tyrants"! So, you have a choice...decide to answer the call, and we are ALL CALLED, and if we hear the Call, and heed the Call and obey the Call, then we are CHOSEN! To walk the walk and then talk the talk. Too many people love to talk the talk without walking the walk! Why NOT celebrate Messiah as the Passover Lamb Sacrifice who takes away the SIN of the world? Remember that "sin is transgression of the Law"! Paul said, "for Messiah, our Passover has been slain for us, therefore let us keep the Feast..." Why NOT celebrate First Fruits, in honor of Messiah Yeshua who is/was the FIRST FRUITS FROM AMONG THE DEAD? Most want to scold and bully and accuse and name call and offer their own interpretation of Scripture. I guess it's because they don't have anything else to offer. I am interesting in your perspective, if you are genuinely interested in speaking the Truth! I am open to correction, by someone who is qualified to do correction. We all are entitled to our own opinion, but not entitled to our own facts! The fact is, Messiah Yeshua, through His blood sacrifice, restored us to righteous relationship with the Creator of the Universe, YHVH, it's NOT RELIGION! It's relationship! Did you ever read Jeremiah 31:31-33, 34 and Hebrews 8:8-10, about the Promise and the Fulfillment of the Law written on the hearts of the recipients? And guess who the New/Renewed Covenant was made with? And who is GRAFTED INTO that New/Renewed Covenant? What does "righteousness" look like? Is it a bunch of Lawless freaks running around doing their own thing, creating their own calendar, making up their own festivals, cheating, lusting, fornicating, stealing, eating snakes and alligators and dogs and hogs, and cats and bats, and human flesh? Nice...Good for them, and good for you, if that's what you think it is. Good luck with all that! Grace enables obedience! Repentance means to TURN FROM SIN! NOT just say, "sorry". Thanks for sticking with me, if, in fact, you have...

In Matthew 22 Jesus sums up the law for us.
34 But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" 37 Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
Then and John 13 Christ gives us a new commandment. This commandment would be just as binding upon New Testament Christians as the law of Moses was upon Israel in the Old Testament. Why? Because Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. He is our Lord.
31 So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, "Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him. 32 If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately. 33 Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, 'Where I am going, you cannot come,' so now I say to you. 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
Then, Christ reiterates this commandment in John 15.
12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
The Apostle John repeats this commandment in 1st John 3.
22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
The law of Christ which our Lord and Savior gave us himself.

Spurgeon- Galatians 2:21. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
If a man can be saved by his own works, and willings, and doings, then Christ’s death was an unnecessary piece of torture; and, instead of being the most glorious manifestation of divine love, it was a shameful waste, putting upon Christ a terrible burden of suffering which was totally unnecessary.

      Hi Kenny
The power of sin to kill us, comes from the penalty established in God's instructions for wrongdoing. If you follow God's instructions by Faith as the New Creation it is God who writes His Instructions on your heart ....the new covenant to replace the one we all have broken in multiple ways.
THE NEW COVENANT is described in the Prophets. Ezekiel 36 & Isaiah 31....... walking in God's statutes & keeping his ordinances are all standard reference to the body of God's Laws. It expressly says I will cause you to DO them!
The New Covenant was actually given to Israel & gentiles are grafted into it to become ONE NEW MAN with the Jews who turn away from the false traditions & interpretations of Judaism & turn to God in Messiah/Christ.
Eze 36:26-27 WEB 26 I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
27 I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes. You will keep my ordinances and do them.
Nothing wrong with God's Law it wasn't changed our hearts were the problem. God overcomes that and removes the stony rebellious heart of sin to give us a heart of flesh that responds to be obedient to the new Instructions of righteousness as the old instruction to sin / disobedience is removed & we go through the veil into the holy of holies to perceive the way of Holiness which is obedience through gratefulness. God is holy ...no- one sees God without being clothed in holiness.
Remember the story of the wise & the foolish virgins.?..The wise had oil for the lamps others didn't. The foolish were locked out after they ran around to fill their lamps. Oil is what gives light in scripture. The Word of God gives light & those practicing it just as Jesus did as example have light.
Romans tells us, Jews and( with Law ) & Gentiles ( without Law ) are all judged by the Law of God. That means all mankind are judged by the same standard. Just as Eccliastes in the last chapter does. Some will have faith & be obedient to the instructions others won't.
Jews thought they were saved because they were Jewish but the principal is....faith in God means to live in His ways or you are breaking covenant. Covenant is the relationship where the mercy that we received is established in us more so we understand God's eternal truth in our new actions of the Eternal Kingdom as potential citizens of Heaven.
We all should be humble & have repentant hearts. Paul says to walk out our salvation with fear & trembling & to run the race according to the rules to receive the price. Christ lived & taught obedience. Any place you think Jesus did otherwise you will find when you study Judaism that the traditions of Judaism were what Jesus opposed when they puffed up the hypocrites with false handwashing rituals or made it illegal to eat with a gentile and/ or actually misrepresented God's Law to make it a burden for the people or made God's Law of none effect.
      Must go now. Bye FJ

People should truly listen to the video before responding. The bible is clear on this issue. Galatians tells us we are not to mix the keeping of the law with our faith in Jesus Christ. It's a false gospel that nullifies what Christ did on the cross. Roman's 6 tells us we are not under the law but under grace. Roman's 7 tells us we are dead to the law and married to Christ. Roman's 8 tells us that the only way to be holy before God is through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

@Buckeye Country Galatians 3- just as Abraham "believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." 7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed." 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. 10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them." 11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith."

      Romans 6:15
[15]What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
What law was Paul referring to? Was it all the Law or A law?
      Hebrews 8:10
[10]For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
The Law is not going anywhere simpletons, here is what Paul was referring to:
      Hebrews 10:1-6
[1]For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
[2]For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
[3]But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
[4]For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
[5]Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
[6]In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
It is the law of sacrifice, this is why Christ came for Israel first. Gentiles cannot and must not teach the scriptures unless they are taught with the correct understanding and Spirit.
      2 Peter 3:14-17
[14]Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
      [15]And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
[16]As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
[17]Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

Galatians 3:19 What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. 20 Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. 21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. 22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
1- the law was put in place until the Seed would come and that Seed is Jesus.
2- the law points us to the promise of the Messiah who would one day come and free his people from the bondage of sin and make his people holy.
3- the law could not make us righteous but the Seed could.
4- the law was there to point us to Christ
5- once we have put our faith in Christ we are no longer under the law and we are under grace.

Paul clearly teaches in his writings that Christian's are not under the law. He rebukes Peter and the church in Galatia for mixing the law with their faith in Christ.
    Galatians 2:14-21
14 But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, "If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews?

Paul has an analogy that since he died with Christ that the law cannot bring death to him. We see this in Romans 8:7 when he tells us the carnal mind is the one that cannot submit to the law of God. When we die in Christ Our sinful flesh dies and we are risen in newness of life and we are able to walk as our Saviour walk and we are able to obey the Commandments which are holy righteous and good. But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith." 12 Yet the law is not of faith, but "the man who does them shall live by them." 13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. 15 Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man's covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it. 16 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed," who is Christ. 17 And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect. 18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

If as Christians we are under the new covenant to love on another... my question is how much? Will Jesus NOT pay the penalty for those of us who may NOT have ENOUGH love for others?
HOW much shall we love them? How much is enough love that we have to feel and exercise in our lives to be welcomed by God unto heaven when our earthly life ends?
This is where I see works of love and service to others become a form of people working out their own salvation, after they understand and accept the free gift of what Jesus did on the cross for them.
It seems natural that those who understand and accept the gift of Jesus’s act of love for them... a person naturally would want to love God back and pass that love on. But there still will be times of selfishness and other sins.
It’s scary when I hear Christians talk about acts of love like they’ve acquired a certain amount like notches in their belts for salvation. When we think that way it takes Jesus off the thrown of being the very sacrifice for us that he was, for our salvation.
We don’t earn our salvation by our actions but rather by the acceptance and belief in who he is and what he did, acknowledging our inability to follow the law and not sin.
The whole old testament proved that it was impossible to not sin, it was impossible to follow all the laws and commands. God saw our problem and provided the solution in Jesus.
Confessing this truth and accepting the free gift compels us to love.

So routinely do people attack the bible and as Christian's we know why. It is because Satan, our adversary, goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. That's why Ephesians 6 tells us to take up the whole armor of God to stand against him.
Part of that armor is the word of God which Paul calls the sword of the Spirit. So we need to know what it says and understand it.
The gospel of grace that the apostles taught is clear. We are not under law but under grace. Grace is not freedom to sin, it is freedom from the bondage of sin. It is the freedom that the bible speaks about. There is no freedom in keeping the law. Much to the contrary, it is a yoke of bondage and what does Paul say regarding this?
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 2 Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. 3 And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. 4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.

Acts 15- a very good passage that all christians should read. In that chapter the question is presented to the apostles on whether or not Christians are saved by keeping Old Testament law or required to keep Old Testament law. Paul and Barnabas argue with the legalists and bring the matter to the apostles in Jerusalem. The apostles in the end conclude that not only had they never taught the following of the Old Testament laws, but that they were not going to place the churches under that teaching at that time either. Following Old Testament laws was never part of what the apostles taught so if they didn't teach it, then why would you? The chapter also gives us a clearer understanding of the Epistles and lets us know that Peter Paul James and John, the authors of the New Testament, did not teach the following of Old Testament laws in their books. In the book of Acts, the question was NOT "what are we going to do with all these "Jews" who are coming to faith in the Gentile, Aryan "Jesus", who abolished the Law and upholds sin...but it was "what are we to do with all these Gentiles who are coming to faith in the Hebrew Messiah, the 'Lion of Yehudah', Yeshua"! You are correct, the question was taken to the leadership of the believing community in Jerusalem, and the decision was to give the Gentiles 4 stipulations for table fellowship with the Messianic Jews, (we are told that there were myriads and myriads of them and that they were "all zealous for the Law") and then, "for Moses is read/taught in the synagogues in every city on the Sabbath"...so the new Gentile believers could avail themselves of the teaching of the Torah, "line up on line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little", just as the Jews had learned it during the period of the Tanakh! The "Torah is/was a pedagogue/tutor to lead us to Messiah", NOT to show them that they COULD NOT KEEP it, but that they DID NOT KEEP IT, and that they could be forgiven and redeemed, bought back, and EMPOWERED/ENABLED to keep the Torah by the INDWELLING HOLY SPIRIT! We are told, "for the Spirit was WITH you, but NOW will be IN you"! Messiah Yeshua UPHOLDS THE LAW OF YHVH AND ABOLISHED SIN! PERIOD! See the difference?! Baruch B'Shem Yeshua!

Christian's are in the New covenant. Testament means covenant and the blood Jesus shed initiated that covenant (Luke 22:20). We are under the grace of God. The law of Christ is what we fall under. He is our Lord. He is our Master. He is our God and we obey him. 1 John 3:23 and Romans 13:9,10 explain it for us very simply. Love is the fulfillment of all the law.

      @Zz Z Galatians 1 No Other Gospel
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel- 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.
They (the Galatians) were turning away, from the truth, to a different gospel. Paul did not say, 'You have turned away'. He had identified false doctrine gaining influence, and sought to counter it. The true gospel is in the grace of Christ, see 2 Tim 1.9; this grace brings us into real liberty. A false gospel brings bondage, to sin, to legalism, or to both. The false gospel here is legalism, and Paul uses his strongest language to describe those who brought this message. By deserting from the truth, to embrace merely religious works, was to fall from grace (see 5.4).
v7: The different gospel is really no gospel at all, it is not 'Good News', it cannot save, it denies the grace of God in Christ, see 2 Tim 1.9. This grace brings us into true liberty; false doctrine brings us into bondage.
Such false teaching is not theoretical; real people were involved, who brought real confusion into the Galatian churches.
The different gospel brings confusion and trouble, and disturbance; it is unsettling, and disturbs our peace and assurance. The true gospel is perverted (Gk: METASTREPHO), making something opposite (see Acts 2.20; James 4.9); they change the gospel of Christ into something which is not the gospel.
v8-9: Those who proclaim another gospel are accursed. This is not surprising, given the effects of their 'ministry'. This judgment is repeated, "so now I say again". It is no light thing to change the message of Jesus Christ.

      @Zz Z Galatians 2
15 We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; 16 yet we know that a person is not justified [1] by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
17 But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not! 18 For if I rebuild what I tore down, I prove myself to be a transgressor. 19 For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness [2] were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
Converted Jews had been delivered from the necessity of following Jewish regulations. This had included both Paul and Peter. The agreed message was, and is, justification by faith. This is true in our experience, for we have put our faith in Jesus Christ and have been justified by faith. This is true as a matter of fact and principle, that a man is justified by faith in Jesus Christ.
In contrast, no flesh can be justified by works, or by observing the law. This human way of religion cannot bring spiritual salvation.
v17-18: The message of justification by faith can be corrupted by corrupt human thinking. What happens if a person, who has put faith in Christ, then falls into sin? Does that mean that Christ promotes sin? 'Certainly not!' responds the apostle. The true message does not promote sin, see 5.13-26, and through faith we receive power to depart from sin.
v19: The law is not the way of breaking with sin; it did not work for the Jewish people, and it cannot work for us today. We have died to the law, just as we have died to sin. We are freed from sin, and freed from law, that we might live for God.
v20: Daily living, like conversion to Christ, is by faith. Later, Paul addresses this further issue, see 3.3. Since Christ lives in me, I can live constantly by faith in Him, and I can display His character. My relationship with Him is from His grace and initiative, since He loved me and gave up His life for me.
v21: Legalism attacks the gospel; the grace of God is set aside as irrelevant, and Christ died in vain, if legalism is the way to God, and the way of God. Since the grace of God and the death of Christ are central aspects of the gospel, then we must reject legalism.

      @Zz Z Galatians 3
By Faith, or by Works of the Law?
3:1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. 2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by [1] the flesh? 4 Did you suffer [2] so many things in vain-if indeed it was in vain? 5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith- 6 just as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”?
7 Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify [3] the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” 9 So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
The Galatians had been "bewitched" (flattery, fascination), a reference to the methods of the false teachers. These people did not use spiritual means to explain deficiencies in Paul's doctrine, rather they used slander and deceit and trickery to draw away disciples after themselves. In particular, they by-passed the cross of Christ.
The Galatians were, however, "foolish" in allowing themselves to be led astray. We need discernment so that we reject false teaching.
v2-3: Paul refers to clear conversion, they had received the Spirit, they had begun in the Spirit, and that by the hearing of faith. Faith had come through the preaching of the Word of God (Rom 10.17).
But now they had returned to the keeping of the law, specifically circumcision, 4.9-10; Acts 15.5. It is impossible to "attain your goal" through any human effort.
We note that, having received His Spirit, we continue to need the exhortations of God to live in the Spirit. Obedience and sanctification are not automatic.
v4: Even suffering, one evidence of salvation, had been denied. They were fickle humans, forgetting past blessings and experiences, and the explanation of those blessings and experiences.
v5: Had God given them great blessings because of obedience to the law? The clear answer is No!"
v6: "Consider Abraham", he was the father of Israel. He was justified by faith, not by works, and certainly not by the works of the law.
v7: The true sons of Abraham are those who 'are of faith'. Paul answers the arguments of the false teachers (Judaizers), who called the Galatians back to 'the faith of Abraham'.
v8: The promise of blessing upon the Gentiles, through faith, was always God's plan and purpose. In Eph 3.6, Paul refers to this as God's mystery. Abraham, and later the whole Jewish nation, was to be the route of God's blessing upon the Gentiles. Ultimately, Jesus Christ, who was born a Jew, became the Name through whom God's blessings were poured out for all nations.
v9: If we truly have faith in Christ, we are blessed with Abraham, the man of faith.

      @Zz Z Galatians 3
The Righteous Shall Live by Faith
10 For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.” 11 Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” [4] 12 But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.” 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us-for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”- 14 so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit [5] through faith.
v10-14: The folly of trying to live by the law.
      v10: The law of God was given by God (Ex 20);
      Israel had committed themselves to living under it, Ex 24.3-7;
      They were thus under the law, i.e: subject to its blessings and curses, 1 Cor 9.20;
      Under the law, life was the reward for obedience, Lev 18.5;
      Under the law, the curse was the reward for disobedience, Deut 27.26;
      But one sin brings guilt, and therefore condemnation, James 2.10;
Therefore the law cannot save us, it can only condemn us, since we all fall short; we are therefore all cursed. Obedience under the law had to be: perfect, personal, and perpetual; any failing in any way brought the curse.
v11: Since we are all cursed, then no-one is justified by the law, 2.16. Israel had tried to establish their own righteousness, based on the law (Rom 10.3), and Paul himself had previously been committed to such a life, 1.14.
Many try to gain acceptance before God by good works, sincerity, church attendance; but such things cannot save. Without faith they are dead works.
v12: The law is not about faith. The solution from God is faith, by which we live.
v13: The curse of the law has been taken away in Christ, for He became a curse for us.
This is pictured in Boaz, the kinsman redeemer, who was cursed, Duet 23.3; Ruth 4.10, for his deliberate and willing choice to buy for himself a foreign bride. Hosea similarly paid a price to redeem one who was unworthy, Hos 3.2.
v14: Through His redemption, we receive the blessing of Abraham, which is righteousness by faith, v6-7, see Rom 4. We also receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. Salvation in Christ is redemption from the condemnation of the law, and power, through the Spirit, to live for Christ and to know Him.
The blessings of Abraham are for "all nations", and Paul goes on to declare this truth also, v26-29.

I remember sitting in church from 1994 to 2004, scratching my head and wondering, "What about the rest of the story?" 😢
I would go home empty and full of questions. Questions the pastor never addressed in the first place, such as, "Why did the Messiah teach Torah observance (Matthew 5:19), but the church does not??" 😮
One bright day (figuratively speaking as it was drizzling rain that afternoon) at a christian music concert roughly 20 years ago a brother in Messiah pointed me in the right direction and told me the Sabbath falls on Saturday, not Sunday. It was like he flipped on a light switch in a dark room. He then shared the location of a local Congregation that was Torah observant.
After being among Messianic congregants and in a Messianic Congregation for roughly 5-7 years back in 2014 ten years ago, Rabbi Lancaster mentioned the following during a teaching that resonated with me in a way which it had not before.
He said, in regards to the Torah commands, "look at this command, you can do it, and this command, it is not too hard for you."
TBH, it was the most refreshing statement I had heard in a very long time!
He reminded me of these verses:
    D'varim (Deuteronomy) 30:11-17
[11] “For this command which I am commanding you today, it is not too hard for you, nor is it far off. [12] “It is not in the heavens, to say, ‘Who shall ascend into the heavens for us, and bring it to us, and cause us to hear it, so that we do it?’ [13] Nor is it beyond the sea, to say, ‘Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, and cause us to hear it, so that we do it?’ ” [14] “For the Word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart - to do it. [15] See, I have set before you today life and good, and death and evil,” [16] in that I am commanding you today to love יהוה your Elohim, to walk in His ways, and to guard His commands, and His laws, and His right-rulings. And you shall live and increase, and יהוה your Elohim shall bless you in the land which you go to possess. [17] “But if your heart turns away, and you do not obey, and shall be drawn away, and shall bow down to other mighty ones and serve them,"
The church often teaches that the commands are too difficult and that we cannot keep them. That if we try, we will inevitably fail. 😢

Yahushua said this about the (Torah) commands which perfectly aligns with everything His Father said::
      Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:17-20, 2
[17] Do not think that I came to destroy (make the commands obsolete) the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete (renew). [18] For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one yod or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done. [19] “Whoever, then, breaks one of the least of these commands, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the reign of the heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens. [20] For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall by no means enter into the reign of the heavens.
H of Scripture such as Jeremiah 31:31-33. This word châdash means, “to be renewed.”
      חדשׁ
      châdash
      BDB Definition H2318:
      1) to be new, renew, repair
      1a) (Piel)
      1a1) to renew, make anew
      1a2) to repair
      Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 31:31-33 TS2009
“See, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “when I shall make a renewed covenant with the house of Yisra’ĕl and with the house of Yehuḏah, not like the covenant I made with their fathers in the day when I strengthened their hand to bring them out of the land of Mitzrayim (Egypt), My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,” declares Yahweh. For this is the covenant I shall make with the house of Yisra’ĕl after those days, declares (Yahweh) יהוה: I shall put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it on their hearts. And I shall be their Elohim (God), and they shall be My people.”
To further prove this point, please consider what the Messiah said in Yahuchanan (John) 12:48-50
[48] He who rejects Me, and does not receive My Words, has one who judges him: the Word that I have spoken shall judge him in the last day. [49] “Because I spoke not from Myself, but the Father who sent Me has given Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. [50] “And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, as the Father has said to Me, so I speak.”
As you can plainly read, Messiah not only told us that He is speaking on His Fathers behalf alone (using the Torah), but the Torah commands are life.
Yahweh and Yahushua obviously disagree with those who teach that the Torah is now obsolete, only for a specific group of people and only for a certain time that is now in the past. Nowhere in the Torah are we told that the commands are optional and that a new religion called Christianity would replace Judaism once the Messiah redeemed Israel and began to ransom the 10 lost tribes through the Good News. Since Yahweh and Yahushua are not cruel and sadistic liars, they would never say such things and then tell us the Torah commands are too difficult, only for a time, and that we should not even try to be obedient to the commands or that only certain commands apply..

Matthew 5:17-20 that right there proves that there is no new law, hes just fulfilling it. The law is here on this earth to do what's good and to prevent us from doing bad things, the law doesn't get us to heaven but if you keep the covenant, you will receive many blessings. Jesus only gave us salvation, a way to talk God through his name, and a way for us to enter heaven. It even says to keep the commandments in revelation. Rev 12:17 and 14:12. And Galatians 3:10 is Paul explaining that the law is a curse because it doesn't get you to heaven but you will be cursed on this earth if you dont keep them but you can still enter heaven if you have Jesus inside you. I'm sorry, but the law still applies.

Roman's 10:4 that verse is meaning that Christ is the end of the law cause he fulfilled it which means he put that last finishing touch In the commandments and giving it to us to follow if you want to keep being blessed. When we put our faith in Jesus Christ and make him the Lord of our life, his Spirit comes and dwells within. That is how the law is now "written on our hearts." When we walk in the Spirit, we are not breaking the law of God.
    Galatians 5
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

The New Covenant (or New Testament) is the promise that God makes with humanity that He will forgive sin and restore fellowship with those whose hearts are turned toward Him. Jesus Christ is the mediator of the New Covenant, and His death on the cross is the basis of the promise (Luke 22:20). The New Covenant was predicted while the Old Covenant was still in effect-the prophets Moses, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel all allude to the New Covenant.
The Old Covenant that God had established with His people required strict obedience to the Mosaic Law. Because the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), the Law required that Israel perform daily sacrifices in order to atone for sin. But Moses, through whom God established the Old Covenant, also anticipated the New Covenant. In one of his final addresses to the nation of Israel, Moses looks forward to a time when Israel would be given “a heart to understand” (Deuteronomy 29:4, ESV). Moses predicts that Israel would fail in keeping the Old Covenant (verses 22-28), but he then sees a time of restoration (30:1-5). At that time, Moses says, “The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live” (verse 6). The New Covenant involves a total change of heart so that God’s people are naturally pleasing to Him.
The prophet Jeremiah also predicted the New Covenant. “‘The day will come,’ says the Lord, ‘when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. . . . But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day,’ says the Lord. ‘I will put my law in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people’” (Jeremiah 31:31, 33). Jesus Christ came to fulfill the Law of Moses (Matthew 5:17) and to establish the New Covenant between God and His people. The Old Covenant was written in stone, but the New Covenant is written on our hearts. Entering the New Covenant is made possible only by faith in Christ, who shed His blood to take away the sins of the world (John 1:29). Luke 22:20relates how Jesus, at the Last Supper, takes the cup and says, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood” (ESV).

When the Bible speaks of “the law,” it refers to the detailed standard God gave to Moses, beginning in Exodus 20 with the Ten Commandments. God’s Law explained His requirements for a holy people and included three categories: civil, ceremonial, and moral laws. The Law was given to separate God’s people from the evil nations around them and to define sin (Ezra 10:11; Romans 5:13; 7:7). The Law also clearly demonstrated that no human being could purify himself enough to please God-i.e., the Law revealed our need for a Savior.
By New Testament times, the religious leaders had hijacked the Law and added to it their own rules and traditions (Mark 7:7-9). While the Law itself was good, it was weak in that it lacked the power to change a sinful heart (Romans 8:3). Keeping the Law, as interpreted by the Pharisees, had become an oppressive and overwhelming burden (Luke 11:46).
It was into this legalistic climate that Jesus came, and conflict with the hypocritical arbiters of the Law was inevitable. But Jesus, the Lawgiver, said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them” (Matthew 5:17). The Law was not evil. It served as a mirror to reveal the condition of a person’s heart (Romans 7:7). John 1:17 says, “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” Jesus embodied the perfect balance between grace and the Law (John 1:14).
God has always been full of grace (Psalm 116:5; Joel 2:13), and people have always been saved by faith in God (Genesis 15:6). God did not change between the Old and New Testaments (Numbers 23:19; Psalm 55:19). The same God who gave the Law also gave Jesus (John 3:16). His grace was demonstrated through the Law by providing the sacrificial system to cover sin. Jesus was born “under the law” (Galatians 4:4) and became the final sacrifice to bring the Law to fulfillment and establish the New Covenant (Luke 22:20). Now, everyone who comes to God through Christ is declared righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 3:18; Hebrews 9:15).
The conflict between Jesus and the self-righteous arose immediately. Many who had lived for so long under the Pharisees’ oppressive system eagerly embraced the mercy of Christ and the freedom He offered (Mark 2:15). Some, however, saw this new demonstration of grace as dangerous: what would keep a person from casting off all moral restraint? Paul dealt with this issue in Romans 6: “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?” (verses 1-2). Paul clarified what Jesus had taught: the Law shows us what God wants (holiness), and grace gives us the desire and power to be holy. Rather than trust in the Law to save us, we trust in Christ. We are freed from the Law’s bondage by His once-for-all sacrifice (Romans 7:6; 1 Peter 3:18).
There is no conflict between grace and the Law, properly understood. Christ fulfilled the Law on our behalf and offers the power of the Holy Spirit, who motivates a regenerated heart to live in obedience to Him (Matthew 3:8; Acts 1:8; 1 Thessalonians 1:5; 2 Timothy 1:14). James 2:26 says, “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” A grace that has the power to save also has the power to motivate a sinful heart toward godliness. Where there is no impulse to be godly, there is no saving faith.
We are saved by grace, through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). The keeping of the Law cannot save anyone (Romans 3:20; Titus 3:5). In fact, those who claim righteousness on the basis of their keeping of the Law only think they’re keeping the Law; this was one of Jesus’ main points in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:20-48; see also Luke 18:18-23).

John is also clear on what commandments we are to follow in 1 John 3
23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
The same commandment that Christ gave us in John 15.
12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another.
Since John also wrote Revelation, we can be assured that the commandments he spoke of in Revelation are the same commandments he gave in 1 John 3. Nowhere in the New Testament does the bible command new covenant believers to keep OT law. Much to the contrary. There are many scripture verses that say we are no longer under the law when we come to Christ.

@@kennycouch6135 we are not redeemed from God's Commandments! We are set free from the penalty or curse of the law. It is the law of sin and death that Christ redeemed us from. It is the curse of the law that was taken away, not the law itself. Just listen to the words of Our Lord in Matthew 5. He tells us plainly that not one jot or tittle of the law will pass away until Heaven and Earth pass away and all be fulfilled. If a person is loving God and loving their neighbor they will be led by the spirit and we'll walk in the Commandments of God. For it is not the hearers of the law that are made righteous but the doers of the law. Peter warns us of people that twist the writings of Paul. He calls them Lawless oh, just as our Lord tells us in Matthew 7 that many that go by the name of Christ or call themselves Christian on Judgement Day will be told they never knew him because they were workers of lawlessness. The New Covenant is written about and prophesied back in Ezekiel 36 and tells us that God will write his laws and Commandments on our hearts and give us a new heart and cause us to obey his Commandments and to walk in them. God doesn't write an abolished law on our hearts. Torah is definitely still in effect and will be until the new heavens and new earth.

To Him be the esteem both now and to a day that abides. Amĕin.
      This is what Paul believed:
      Ma`asei (Acts) 24:14
[14] “And this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the Elohim of my fathers, believing all that has been written in the Torah and in the Prophets,"
      And:
      Galatiyim (Galatians) 1:11-12
[11] And I make known to you, brothers, that the Good News announced by me is not according to man. [12] For I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but through a revelation of יהושע Messiah.
As you can see, Paul taught only what Yahweh and Yahushua told him to teach, and he never taught that we are saved by our own efforts.
      Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 2:8-9
For by favour you have been saved, through belief, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of Elohim, [9] it is not by works, so that no one should boast.
Those of us who observe the Torah do so because we love Yahweh and not to become born again.
      As it is written:
      Yahuchanan (John) 15:9-10
[9] “As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Stay in My love. [10] “If you guard My commands, you shall stay in My love even as I have guarded My Father’s commands and stay in His love.
For those that say they are “under grace now” and are exempt from Torah obedience. Grace has always been given and only to those who want to love Yahweh through the righteousness of Yahushua, before and after his sacrifice.
      Shemoth (Exodus)
[6] but showing (grace) to thousands, to those who love Me and guard My commands.
Yes, we are saved by grace through faith and not our own efforts. That has always been true, both in Abraham's day and ours. Being saved by grace alone through faith does not exempt a believer from obedience after that moment in time that Yahweh saved us.
The Torah is synonymous with God's Word. The Torah is His Love letter to us and instructs us on how to live a pleasing life before our Creator. The Torah is the way, the perfect truth (Psalm 19:7 & 119:142) and eternal. The Torah is light and life. Indeed, the Messiah is the living Torah who came down from heaven to live, die, and live again, for us, his Creation.
While rebuking the religious leaders of his day, the Messiah pointed to the Torah when referring to himself.
In the writings of Yahuchanan (John), chapter 5 and verse 6, He said this:
“For if you believed Mosheh (Moses who delivered the Torah to God's people), you would have believed Me, since he wrote about Me. “But if you do not believe his writings, how shall you believe My words

There is probably no sin more tolerated or more widespread in the Christian world than legalism. It may surprise you to hear it labeled as sin. Legalists are thought to be a bit overzealous or “uptight,” but they aren’t usually thought of as sinning in the same sense as adulterers, thieves, liars, and the like. To the contrary, legalists seem to be concerned about holiness.
Yet the Lord Jesus had more conflicts with the legalists of His day than any other group. It wasn’t the adulterers, the robbers and that sort, who put Jesus on the cross. It was the legalists. Later on, the Apostle Paul had the same experience, as the legalists dogged his steps, perverting the gospel of the grace of God.
When you study the life of Christ, it is noteworthy how He deliberately did things to provoke the legalists. He could have healed people on any other day of the week, but He often did it on the Sabbath. He could have been more discreet in violating the Pharisees’ rules, but He did it openly. When a Pharisee invited Jesus to dinner, He could have gone along with their elaborate hand-washing custom, but He deliberately ignored it. When they questioned Him about it, He could have been more polite, but He blasted them for their hypocrisy. When a lawyer pointed out that Jesus had offended them as well, He didn’t say, “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to offend you good folks.” He said, “Woe to you lawyers as well!” Jesus confronted legalism as sin.

Understanding the difference between Old Testament (OT) and New Testament(NT)
The New Testament is OLDER than the Old Testament/Covenant. Specifically, the New Testament is 430 years older than the Old Testament. In Galatians 3 vs 17 - 18, the apostle Paul says, “And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise”KJV.
A Testament/covenant does not come into existence until the death of its testator/mediator. Sadly, those who assembled the Bible appear to have missed this obvious gospel truth, and it’s causing a lot of confusion to many folks out there! Me and you have as a result been erroneously taught that Old Testament ends in Malachi 4 vs 6. But, this is NOT true according to what Scripture says! The word of God says in Hebrews 9 vs 16 - 17, “For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth” KJV.
The Old Testament ends at Golgotha, when Jesus was crucified (Matthew 27; Mark 15; Luke 23; & John 19). At Calvary, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ put an end to the old order (Old Testament) and that is why when He had received the vinegar which was put to his mouth, Jesus said the words, “IT IS FINISHED” Read John 19 vs 28 -30. It marked the end of the Law of Moses (the Mosaic Covenant or the Old Testament - which is made up of 613 laws, including the 10 commandments God gave to Moses on Mount Sinai/Horeb: Exodus 20).
It was at Calvary where Jesus put an end to the Law of Moses/Old Testament. Remember He came to fulfill the Law as he had said before going to the Cross, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled” Matthew 5 vs 17 - 20. But, we see when the Risen Jesus Christ appears to the disciples at Jerusalem, He says, “..These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be FULFILLED, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.” Luke 24 vs 44 KJV.
Now, take note of this… A testament/covenant has its own laws and two different covenants cannot be run concurrently; the two CANNOT coexist without confusion. Glory to the Most High God!!! Here’s why we have this, “Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the LAW; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He TAKETH away the first (Old Testament or the Law of Moses), that he may establish the second (New Testament). Hebrews 10 vs 8 -9 KJV. The word of God says in Hebrews 8 vs 13, “In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which DECAYETH and WAXETH old is ready to vanish away”. Colossians 2 vs 13 & 14 “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; BLOTTING OUT THE HANDWRITING OF ORDINANCES that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his CROSS”.
Jesus Christ, the Anointed One of God, is the FULFILMENT of the Law of Moses! But someone may ask, ‘What do you mean when you say Christ is the fulfillment of the Law? Well, here’s your answer…”For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”: Romans 8 vs 3 - 4 KJV.
Beloved, are you not trying to make yourself righteous by observing the Law of Moses? Are you not a well-respected and highly honored member of your church because you’re a faithful tither? Are you not trying so hard to keep the Sabbath/7th day? Don’t you observe the Passover feast? Do they not read out loud the ten commandments from the pulpit without preaching the revealed word of God from these laws?
Everything written in the Old Testament was prophesying about the suffering, death, resurrection and glorification of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. In the book of Acts, we see the apostle Paul testifying Christ before king Agrippa and Festus, saying the following words, “Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying NONE OTHER THINGS than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should SUFFER, and that he should be the first that should RISE from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles” Acts 26 vs 22 - 23 KJV.
The Old Testament is a shadow of the New Testament! I must be beside myself…what do I mean?!!!
When God gave instructions for the Passover in Exodus 12, it was a shadow/prophecy/allegory, or in other words, a type of Christ as the true Passover. In 1 Corinthians 5 vs 7, the apostle Paul says, “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us”
When God commanded the children of Israel to keep the Sabbath, it was all about the rest that Christ would give to the believers/saints or those whom God chose before the foundation of the world. Christ is our 7TH Day; so we rest in Him. This is the rest spoken about in Hebrews 4 from verse 1 - 11; the same rest Jesus was speaking about in Matthew 11 vs 28 & 29, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls”KJV

If Christian's were still bound to the law then Christ died for nothing. Some will say that the law of Christ is simply the old testament law repeated but look at what Christ said when he gave us his commandment in John 13.
Vs. 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
When God gave the command to love in Leviticus it said no such thing and there were penalties for not keeping it. Not only does Christ give us a "new commandment," not only is there no penalty and condemnation involved but we are to love as he loved us. Entirely different from the commandment given in Leviticus. The new testament law of Christ is wrapped up in loving as Christ loved us and gave himself for us on the cross. As he gave his all for us, we should give our all to others and bear one another's burdens as we see in Galatians 6:2. God bless. ☝🏻🙏🙂

And the jews are under a covenant with God. Do you think that gets any of us into heaven? You see the fundemental difference between judaism and religion is this. Religion is all about what we can get from God. Health, wealth, with enough faith perhaps eternal life. Judaism on the other hand is all about what God needs from this world. Judaism is about being selfless. It's about what service we can do for each other. When was the last thing you did something for god, not because it made you feel good, not because it was easy, but for no other reason than.that God told you to do it? I'm not remotely worried about being saved, heaven or hell. None of that is any of my business and I'm supposed to be serving God, not serving myself. God has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams and most of it I recieved without asking. I derive joy from denying materialism and immersing myself in Torah. From doing service for others even if I don't like them. Why would God do anything for me if I haven't earned it? Why would God give me anything if all I do is ask what he can do for me? And why on Earth would God forgive me for praying to him in the name of a man? That's idolatry, I'm not pulling it out of thin air, I invite you to study the laws of idolatry laid out by the Torah before you argue with me over that. Just look at them. I don't expect you to believe them any more than I believe a man can take on another man's sin. Just look at them, and understand they come God. The same God who gave you the 10 Commandments. Do you know what it means to hold no other gods before him? Its not just religious figures. It can be anything. Simply trying visualize God when we pray is idolatry. It heretical to put limits on God. God is not a man that he should lie. Remember that. God is not a man and never will be. Being created in the image of God has nothing to do with physicality and absolutely everything to do with our spiritual image. God is infinite so how can we resemble infinity. It means that he created us with the ability to create. It's something completely unique to mankind and incredibly valuable. No other beings have that ability except for God. Another point I must bring up is why on earth does anybody believe that God changes his mind? He has never changed his mind about anything except for destruction which he promises if we don't repent. He isn't changing his mind, in fact he keeps to his word. If the people don't repent they will be destroyed, if they do they won't be destroyed. Everything else in Torah is positive commandments and he has never changed his mind on those nor will he. Simply suggesting he's infallible and does not forsee the future is heresy and idolatry. I can bear witness to you before the world that God himself said that if somebody tells you the law is changed he is a false prophet and you shall not believe him nor fear him. Let me emphasize that I didn't say that. God said that out loud to the entire world and all of them heard it. If you believe God changed his mind about the laws, you are calling God a liar

Christ is the end of the Law
    What is the Law?
These are set of laws, statues, commandments and precepts given to Israel by God through an angel on their way out of Egypt to Canaan. The first of these laws is the law of the Passover which was given in Exodus 12:1-14. There are ten commandments which were written in two tables of stone, there are laws concerning judgments of civil and criminal cases, there are laws guiding Israelites in worshiping God, laws of foods; clothings;farming etc.
This package of Laws were given through Moses who is the testator of the old covenant Testament therefore they are sometimes called the laws of Moses, they are often just called Moses as in John 5:45-47.
These laws were enforced, taught and explained to the people of Israel by ministers from the tribe of Levi, which are called the levitical priesthood. you could not preach the law if you are not from the tribe of levi. let me also iron out that levites were not ordained in a professional way after having graduated from a theological college: No!, they were anointed, consecrated and taught the order of divine service by their predecessors, But they are descendants of Levi who is Jacob's third born. Principally speaking it would be serial foolishness to find today a gentile African, American or other non Jew calling themselves Levites! there is no college under the sun which trains people to belong to the Obama family!
Tithing, sabbath day worship, first fruits offerings, feast of tabernacles, Purim etc were holy convocation meetings instructed Israel to observe. they would observe these gatherings under the leadership of this Levitical Priesthood. (Leviticus 23:1-44)
Those who give certain lewd fellows of the baser sort (Acts 17:10) their hard earned money as tithes are not only throwing their money thoughtlessly into spiritual fraudsters' pockets, but they are also blaspheming the grace of God, they are spitting on the face of Jesus Christ our testator of a new covenant.
    But what is the truth?
Are the Seventh Day Adventists wrong in observing the sabbath day?
Should we pay tithe?, to who?
what Does the bible say about these issues?
"Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God" Romans 3:19
"Therefore by the deeds of the law {which are the sabbath worship, tithing, the feast of unleavened bread, the feast of tabernacles etc} SHALL NO FLESH BE JUSTIFIED IN HIS SIGHT: FOR BY THE LAW IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN " Romans 3:20
T loophree things are learnt in these scriptures:
    1) Only Israel was under the law, so they only were obliged to submit to the precepts of the law
    2) the only achievement of the law was to make its subjects guilty before God
3)Nobody could ever be justified before God by observing the law.
"For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to every one that believeth." Romans 10:4
"But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. but before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we must be justified by faith [ take note, note by the law]. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster [the law]" Galatians 3:22-25
The Jews, from whom Paul came, were under a school master called the law which schoolmaster was to take them to Christ, now that faith came with Christ they are no longer under the law!
But where do we the gentiles fit in, with all this confusion?
"wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called the Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands. That at the time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, and having no hope, and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were afar off are made nigh by the blood of Christ." Ephesians 2:11-13
We were strangers from the covenant of promise, the old testament covenant; we have NEVER BEEN A PART OF THE OLD TESTAMENT!. We are saved by the blood of Jesus, which means we join the testament of Grace, Faith and love, we have no access to the laws of Moses!
is the law of Moses still functional in its initial concepts?
No! Christ is the end of the Law remember?
The Levitical priesthood was fired from the priesthood duties,
",If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law." Hebrews 7:11-12
The priesthood changed, Levi and his brethren were fired and Jesus Christ came in as the priest in the order of Melchisedec, and when the priesthood was changed, the law was of necessity changed also! read the rest of the book of hebrews 7
"For if the first covenant [the Old Testament] had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second." Hebrews 8:7
tithing was found with fault and so was sabbath, feasts, offerings given under the law, the levitical priesthood, that is why a place was found for the New Testament to replace it!
What does the bible say to those who observe only one commandment from the law of Moses, like the SDAs?
"For as many as are under the works of the law are under a curse:for it is written , Cursed is everyone that continueth not in ALL THINGS written in the book of the law to do them" Galatians 3:10
"For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect to you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace." Galatians 5:3-4
Did you hear that?, that if you try to do one aspect of the law:
    A) You are a debtor to do/ follow all the 613 laws in the book of the law.
    B) if you pay tithe, if you observe the sabbath etc, you are cursed because you are not doing the whole law
    C) Christ is become of no effect to you, { did you read that?}
    D) You have fallen from grace
Why, why does the apostle Paul say such heavy words to this subject?
"I am crucified with Christ:nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I DO NOT FRUSTRATE THE GRACE OF GOD:FOR IF RIGHTEOUSNESS COME BY THE LAW, THEN CHRIST DIED IN VAIN." Galatians 2:20-21
I have written verse 21 in capital letters to highlight the magnitude of the offenses we commit if we try to adhere to any precept of the law!
Those of you who are observing the passover, you are ignorant of 1 Corinthians 5:7 which says that Christ is our passover lamb who was slain already for our transgressions, you are frustrating the grace of God, you are saying that Jesus died in vain. everybody, male or female, young and old minister or church congregant who pays or receives tithes you are frustrating the grace of God, you are saying Jesus Christ wasted himself on the cross after all we can please God by our own works!
[i shall continue with these teachings of differentiating the law from grace if God permits. in the meantime i want you to read the following scriptures

45 seconds in, it is quite shocking that the seminary got such a small detail wrong. The Torah doesn't teach "no mixed fabrics" such as "polyester and cotton", but this is specifically in reference to wool & linen (Deut 22:11), which was specifically reserved to be worn by priests. Is is not really strange nor difficult to accomplish this commandment, since even our modern attire rarely if ever combines these materials.

In the early church, those who taught a combination of God’s grace and human effort were called “Judaizers.” The word Judaizer comes from a Greek verb meaning “to live according to Jewish customs.” The word appears in Galatians 2:14 where Paul describes how he confronted Peter for forcing Gentile Christians to “Judaize.”
A Judaizer taught that, in order for a Christian to truly be right with God, he must conform to the Mosaic Law. Circumcision, especially, was promoted as necessary for salvation. Gentiles had to become Jewish proselytes first, and then they could come to Christ. The doctrine of the Judaizers was a mixture of grace (through Christ) and works (through the keeping of the Law). This false doctrine was dealt with in Acts 15 and strongly condemned in the book of Galatians.
At the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15, a group of Judaizers opposed Paul and Barnabas. Some men who belonged to the party of the Pharisees insisted that Gentiles could not be saved unless they were first circumcised and obeyed the Law of Moses. Paul made the case that, in Christ, there was no longer any distinction between Jew and Gentile, for God had purified the hearts of the Gentiles by faith (Acts 15:8-9). He said it plainly in Galatians 2:16: “A man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.”
To add anything to the work that Christ did for salvation is to negate God’s grace. We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, not by returning to the Law. “I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing” (Galatians 2:21).
There are many groups today with beliefs/practices very similar to those of the Judaizers of the New Testament.
The teachings of the Hebrew Roots Movement are virtually identical to those of the Judaizers whom Paul rebuked in Galatians. A primary focus of the Hebrew Roots Movement is to put followers of Christ back under the bondage of the Old Testament Law.
Be careful, church. Dont be swayed by their false teachings.

    Relationship with the Lord
The non-believer remains in darkness while the Lord abides with the believer (John 12:46; 6:56; 15:4-7).

The one practicing sin is from the devil. Every one who has been born of God does not practice sin because God's seed is abiding in him/her (1 John 3:8-9).
    Relationship with Christ Himself
We know that we are abiding in Him from the Spirit whom He has given to us (1 John 3:24; 1 John 4:13).
    Relationship with God's Love

    A FEW WORDS ABOUT GRACE
    by William R. Newell
    The Nature of Grace
Grace is God acting freely, according to His own nature -- as Love; with no promises or obligations to fulfill; and acting of course, righteously -- in view of the cross.
Grace, therefore, is uncaused in the recipient: its cause lies wholly in the GIVER, in GOD.
Grace, also is sovereign. Not having debts to pay, or fulfilled conditions on man's part to wait for, it can act toward whom, and how, it pleases. It can, and does, often, place the worst deservers in the highest favors.
Grace cannot act where there is either desert or ability: Grace does not help -- it is absolute, it does all.
There being no cause in the creature why Grace should be shown, the creature must be brought off from trying to give cause to God for His Grace.
The discovery by the creature that he is truly the object of Divine grace, works the utmost humility: for the receiver of grace is brought to know his own absolute unworthiness, and his complete inability to attain worthiness: yet he finds himself blessed -- on another principle, outside of himself!
Therefore, flesh has no place in the plan of Grace. This is the great reason why Grace is hated by the proud natural mind of man. But for this very reason, the true believer rejoices! For he knows that "in him, that is, in his flesh, is no good thing"; and yet he finds God glad to bless him, just as he is!
The Place of Man under Grace
He has been accepted in Christ, who is his standing!
    He is not "on probation."
As to his life past, it does not exist before God: he died at the Cross, and Christ is his life.
Grace, once bestowed, is not withdrawn: for God knew all the human exigencies (needs) beforehand: His action was independent of them, not dependent upon them.
The failure of devotion does not cause the withdrawal of bestowed grace (as it would under law). For example: the man in I Cor. 5.1-5; and also those in 11.30-32, who did not "judge" themselves, and so were "judged by the Lord, -- that they might not be condemned with the world"!
The Proper Attitude of Man under Grace
To believe, and to consent to be loved while unworthy, is the great secret.
To refuse to make "resolutions" and "vows"; for that, is to trust in the flesh.
To expect to be blessed, though realizing more and more lack of worth.
To testify of God's goodness, at all times.
To be certain of God's future favor; yet to be ever more tender in conscience toward Him.
To rely on God's chastening hand as a mark of His kindness.
A man under grace, if like Paul, has no burden regarding himself; but many about others.
    Things Which Gracious Souls Discover
To "hope to be better" is to fail to see yourself in Christ only.
To be disappointed with yourself, is to have believed in yourself.
To be discouraged is unbelief, -- as to God's purpose and plan of blessing for you.
To be proud, is to be blind! For we have no standing before God, in ourselves.
The lack of Divine blessing, therefore, comes from unbelief, and not from failure of devotion.
Real devotion to God arises, not from man's will to show it; but from the discovery that blessing has been received from God while we were yet unworthy and undevoted.
To preach devotion first, and blessing second, is to reverse God's order, and preach law, not grace. The Law made man's blessing depend on devotion; Grace confers undeserved, unconditional blessing: our devotion may follow, but does not always do so, -- in proper measure. (Newell)
    By Grace Through Faith
Eph 2:1-3 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
Eph 2:4-7 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Eph 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them..

Your question is a little vague but i assume you mean to keep the commandments of God is slavery? Would God take a people out of bondage and place them in another and call it deliverance? The Law was never a death sentence but freedom if one obeyed its voice. Rm 7 tells us it was our own flesh and hard hearts through sin that was the cause of the problem with keeping the righteous and beautiful Law that reflected its glory in the face of Moses.
Your interpretation of Jesus fulfilling the law is also not correct, it means he administered the truth to its full meaning summarised in Love of God and your neighbor. It does not mean because he kept the law you dont have to, he said follow me, and teach the commandments of his father as he had shown to his deciples that means us too.
Galatians in context is mostly defending the righteous commandments of God away from the commandments of men, in that instance the Law enforced by the rabbinical Hirearchy known as the "works of the Law". Paul condemned it as "another gospel" and bondage, and cursed because it usurps Gods authority in the earth, NOT the word of God spoken through Moses.
If pastors would learn this difference we all would be better off.

4 What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. 2 The heir is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. 3 So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces[a] of the world. 4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.[b] 6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,[c] Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.
      Paul’s Concern for the Galatians
8 Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. 9 But now that you know God-or rather are known by God-how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces[d]? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? 10 You are observing special days and months and seasons and years! 11 I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you.
12 I plead with you, brothers and sisters, become like me, for I became like you. You did me no wrong. 13 As you know, it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you, 14 and even though my illness was a trial to you, you did not treat me with contempt or scorn. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus himself. 15 Where, then, is your blessing of me now? I can testify that, if you could have done so, you would have torn out your eyes and given them to me. 16 Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?
17 Those people are zealous to win you over, but for no good. What they want is to alienate you from us, so that you may have zeal for them. 18 It is fine to be zealous, provided the purpose is good, and to be so always, not just when I am with you. 19 My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you, 20 how I wish I could be with you now and change my tone, because I am perplexed about you!
      Hagar and Sarah
21 Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. 23 His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise.
24 These things are being taken figuratively: The women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. 25 Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. 26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. 27 For it is written:
      “Be glad, barren woman,
      you who never bore a child;
shout for joy and cry aloud,
      you who were never in labor;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband.”[e]
28 Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise. 29 At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. 30 But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.”[f] 31 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.
Yet, people want to still follow it in their everyday life. The Mosaic law is a burden.
Verse 7 specifically tells you that the ministry (Mosaic law) brought death. Jesus came to save us from it.
      2 Corinthians 3:7-18
The Greater Glory of the New Covenant
7 Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, 8 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? 9 If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! 10 For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. 11 And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!
12 Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. 13 We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. 14 But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. 15 Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Jesus says if you love me you keep my fathers commands. Period. Anyone teaches to break the least of these will be considered least in the kingdom of heaven. I disagree with your argument. If you love you obey. And it’s beautiful !!!

What do you think of Paul. He contradicts the whole Bible and Jesus. But everybody loves him more than Jesus.

Law according to the Apostle Paul was given so that it will reveal sin . in other words the law shows your need for redemption. And the redemption comes through the work of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross.

@@samphonnetgamgee5625 The Apostle Paul is talking from a theological point of view. It is always his custom to expound the nature of Sin the nature of fallen man and what the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus means . What's the application ? How do we go about living our lives free from sin and the law that could not erradicate the punishment nor the enslavement and the pervasive power of Sin in the life of the believer. Only our precious dear Lord was able to handle it by His DEATH and RESURRECTION .
So the believer whose only HOPE to attain righteousness (whether legally like a forensic declaration that the Protestant reformers acclaim followed by the sanctification process that breaks the power of Sin ) comes as we place our trust and hope in the finished work of our Lord on the cross and His mighty ressurected power working in our lives delivering us from not only the penalty but also the POWER of SIN and SATAN the WORLD and DEATH.
The law can do NOTHING of these !!

    Coffman Commentaries
    Romans 7
    Verse 1
This chapter relates closely to what Paul had already written, especially with reference to the law of Moses; and the problem to which he addressed these words was that of the inordinate attachment of many Jewish Christians to the law, and their determination to bind certain provisions of it upon Gentile converts to Christ. This great problem, perhaps the greatest problem of all that confronted that age of the church, was of overriding consequence anywhere it surfaced; and Paul was certain that it would surface in Rome, hence the content of much of this epistle. The great apostle, more than any other, was responsible for divorcing Christianity from Judaism; and, but for his efforts, it was altogether possible that Christianity itself might have become but an antechamber of Judaism. A full and constant attention to what the problem was should accompany the study of this chapter.
Three times Paul had already indicated the severance of Christian faith from its Judaistic parent: (1) In Romans 3:20-24, he had elaborated the truth that no flesh can be justified by the law, that the law and the prophets themselves had foretold the new faith, and that God's grace had provided free and full redemption "in Christ Jesus." (2) In Rom.5:20,21, he had shown the temporary nature of the law, given primarily to expose sin, making it "abound," and that it was not true life at all but the means through which "sin reigned in death." (3) In Romans 6:14, Paul flatly declared that Christians were not under law at all, but under grace (a synecdoche for the entirely new system of Christianity). These three considerations of the relationship between the law of Moses and Christianity make up the subject of the entire seventh chapter, in which Paul took them up one by one and in the reverse order, proving first (Romans 7:1-5) that Christians are not bound in any sense whatever to the law of Moses, next showing holy the law made sin abound (Romans 7:6-13), and then demonstrating why no flesh could be justified by the law (Romans 7:14-25).

Furthermore people confuse the difference between the Laws and Commandments !
The Laws applied to the Jews in the old testament time and were ceremonial...moral and judicial for them....but the "ten commandments" were just that... Commandments and they are for "everybody" even for the people in the New Testament and the World ! Jesus Christ came to fulfill the Law. Which is why we don't sacrifice sheep or anything else at the alter. But we should all keep the Commandments.
