As a Greek, I confirm that what Sam is saying about the Greek scriptures is true. Κυνάριον (pronounced "keenarion") means puppy dog, Κύων (pronounced "keeon") is the dog, this is where the word "cynic" derives from, because the first cynic philosopher was Diogenes (Διογένης ο Κύων, literally means: Diogenes the Dog, because of his lifestyle).
@@katiefaith5381 Demons are in every political party. Jesus was killed by politicians and religious leaders. If you look at Kenneth Copeland’s face (conservative preacher) while he’s preaching, he looks possessed. Stop associating Jesus with politics.
He's exactly right. I went to the greek and checked every word and interpretation and it's spot on. The text should literally read "house puppies." I do not understand why translators don't do their job in these passages that seem so difficult. If they would just translate the words correctly a lot of the stuff would not even be an issue.
It might not be a mere coincidence as Christ told us “when everyone was asleep, his ennemy came and planted weeds among the wheat and then left.” (Matthew 13,24). I would not be surprised at all to hear that the translators working in the Bible nowadays are not even Christian’s but believe in another religion like those after the Resurrection who “gave the soldiers a large some of money, telling them”… (Matthew 28). If translators of the Bible are only to be professional skilled translators they will do it to get a better salary so will be easily bribable as they will not work for people neither for God but for money and Christ told us “you cannot serve two masters. Either you will hate one and love the other, or you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” (Matthew 6)
This is the only explanation I’ve found that is both profound, informative, and isn’t wrongly making an excuse of blatant sin. This makes sense. All other explanations I’ve seen say how it was ok for Jesus to have sinned in that way, when he never sinned in the first place. Thank you man.
satan and the devil will burn if confronted with the Truth and in this case we know who the devil is, the devil of heretical teachings is I am proud of Shamoun David and all Christian Apologists who remain firm and brave in spreading the Teachings of Truth. Lord Jesus Bless us all
Caleb, which is “dog” in Hebrew, was the faithful gentile companion of Joshua who explored Canaan and brought back the good report. Because Caleb believed when the Jewish patriarchs did not believe; he was given the city of Hebron as his reward. Caleb (“dog”) is the role model for faithful gentiles.
I’ve heard a lot of pastors get much wrong over the years. That’s why we must trust the Lord and the Holy Spirit when we pray and study the Word for ourselves.
Even if the word means "Dog" Jesus didn't tell her she's a dog ... he wanted to teach her and the disciples a lesson by saying indirectly: Jews called Gentiles dogs but they are not... so Jesus taught them a lesson that they practiced later on during their missions, and eventually he showed her and everyone that Gentiles are not dogs (cast out) but they are in the family of God by believing the Messiah
St. John Chrysostom offers this explanation in Homily 52 on Matthew: “With this intent did Christ put her off, for He knew she would say this; for this did He deny the grant, that He might exhibit her high self-command. For if He had not meant to give, neither would He have given afterwards, nor would He have stopped her mouth again. But as He does in the case of the centurion, saying, I will come and heal him (Matthew 8:7) that we might learn the godly fear of that man, and might hear him say, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof; (Matthew 8:8) and as He does in the case of her that had the issue of blood, saying, I perceive that virtue has gone out of me, (Luke 8:46) that He might make her faith manifest; and as in the case of the Samaritan woman, that He might show how not even upon reproof she desists: (John 4:18) so also here, He would not that so great virtue in the woman should be hid. Not in insult then were His words spoken, but calling her forth, and revealing the treasure laid up in her.”
In works of Maria Valtorta (italian saint) it is explained in detail. Jesus wanted to show the deciples how powerfull faith of this gentile woman was. They were concern about his harshness.
This is a very good piece. It is actually Philippians 3.2 (not 3.3) to be accurate. And in case you didn't hear it properly (I didn't as it wasn't clear to me when he spoke) it is Revelation 22.15. You can also add Luke 16.21 to that list though his examples provide the best emphasis to the point he is making.
when the woman received a negative answer. she did not doubt but found a truth. and stood by faith in it. Jesus did not want to resist her faith.God bless you Sam
I wish we would better translate such textual importance into English Bibles for average readers to know such meanings. As a pastor, I don't mind teaching such meanings, but any reader should be able to get this in the text, not footnotes nor commentary.
Sam, you walk in the light. It's as though Saint John the Divine himself has blessed your very feet and the footsteps of the narrow path that you walk on, is in the path of the light. God bless you my brother in Christ ✝️
Thank you for sharing this. I don't think I've ever heard it taught like this. It's great news. I subbed. I will be looking for more I can learn, or, assurance on things I already know. We are blessed, amen!!!
Oh wow I never heard about this hmmm makes so much sense now, and, as a believer, I used to find it low-key problematic that scenario but I guess this explanation makes me would I say feel a lot better hahaha thanks Sam! 😊
I knew there was more to everything in the bible and I now see how it could have been taken out of content and corrupted by other's who didn't understand or those who deliberately used it to twist and turn people from the truth .
Thank you for explaining👍🏼 really comforting to know that our Lord refers to the woman as a pet in the house, that clearly will be taken care of by her Master
Amazing. Context! God is GOOD. I love you my Lord Jesus. I can't begin to comprehend all your ways and the depth of your love. Thank you for revealing yourself to us. Forgive me of my sins. Help me to love more like you. I have failed you and others so much. I trust in you alone for my salvation. We need you. Come quickly. Amen.
The Gospel of Mark (A parallel passage to this story) confirms sam's view: Mark 7: 24 Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of Tyre.[g] He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret. 25 In fact, as soon as she heard about him, a woman whose little daughter was possessed by an impure spirit came and fell at his feet. 26 The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter. 27 “First let the children eat all they want,” he told her, “for it is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” 28 “Lord,” she replied, “even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.” 29 Then he told her, “For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter.” 30 She went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon gone. ----- Notice he said "First let the children eat all they want". Also this was a time where he did not want anyone to know (The passage doesn't tell us why) clearly this was some type of unusual circumstances to begin with. Either way: Jesus healed the woman's daughter......Muhammad killed dogs
It also goes to show the weakness of English, a good for instance, in Greek, there are several words that are translated into love. It makes it an important reason to understand the source languages of the scriptures.
Amazing sam,I have explained this to both my muslim and Christian friends many times. The illustration, jesus gives is about the order of his grace and salvation...from the one sitting on the table to below it.... First the children and then the dogs ( not derogatory at all because the one praised for her faith is the one sitting below the table rather than the one sitting on it). Thank you Lord.

Very good explanation of the context of the word. She would react differently if Jesus wanted to use the insulting word. Now it makes sense to me!
God bless this man. His knowledge of the Bible appears to be encyclopedic and of great depth.

Excellent! And Hebron derives from the semitic triliteral HBR, meaning unity (of Israelites and through them, the gentiles)

When was Hebrew standard classical education?
This was explained very well and makes me more comfortable with this exchange between the woman and Jesus.
