I swear many of the sprites are so cursed like Flurrie's back or Mario looking up (which I'm also sure is a reused sprite from the newer games) and I love it

They removed the catcalling lines from the goombas. Personally I thought it was a good reason for Goombella to hate them.
Same here. I'm glad the dialogue is still at least funny there, but yeah I'll miss it too.
And yet, Hooktail’s foot fetish was kept in!
Ti's a shame. I miss Goombella shoving them off and the lines were funny and unexpected for a goomba to say...yet fitting for roqueport
Was it specifically because it was deemed 'too edgy' or is it more in-line with the original translation?

Most times I'm scared of remakes because they never make as good as the original; but this time, it looks like they might make it better than the original.
This was an instance where it could've been severely botched considering the track record of the series as of late, but ironically was done pretty much perfectly from what I can see!

Again? They've been having that all throughout the series tho in terms of designs they looked more unique in the older ones. The new ones still give plenty personality to everyone and style. But yeah I do want them to bring Kammy back. Make her and Kamek have this sort of mini rivalry bond on which of them is Bowser's favorite second in command.
All they did in the newer games was either a forgettable quip, or a paper pun, fuck naw, the closest we got away from that was origami king and even that was filled with that shit, just not as much@@chrange9714

@@candycornshrimp That's not true at all seeing as how many games make characters extremely memorable through their personalities despite their designs. Shows just how good the writing is and the modern games are no exception. Even if you don't like to admit it, practically everyone remembers characters from them.

The fact that you have the option to use the original soundtrack with a little Gamecube you can buy at the shop is such a nice touch. For anyone who wants the nostalgia or doesn't like the new remasters can still enjoy it how they like.
Have no idea who would not like the new remixes at all but more options is never a bad thing.

The kind of person who wants to play this game with the OG soundtrack is the same kind of person upset this is even getting remade in the first place, and they'd rather emulate the original on dolphin.
@@chrange9714 I saw some other people commenting how they thought the new Rogue Port theme gave it a more bustling feel compared to the small port feel of the original, complaining about the Brass leads, etc. I guess some just prefer the original, but I'd like to try it with both personally, so I'm happy I have the option.
I'm glad to have it! I think the new ost is fun but I think a good few of the tracks are maybe too high energy compared to their originals? So having the choice to swap whenever is nice

@@PeachyFanboy Much to the dismay of the TTYD worshipers ofc lol who act like those games what they would call "diseases" are infecting this game that they worship which is laughably pathetic and absurd. But thankfully Nintendo will never bat an eye to them and will continue to use things from the modern games going forward.
I’m glad that they’re actually acknowledging what modern Paper Mario did right instead of just ignoring those games altogether, unlike what a certain other company has done with their series
I like the characters voices. It makes me think that's how they'd sound in other games.
Not only am I loving the voices added to the dialogue, I love how a lot of them are OLD. Like, lifted straight from Super Mario 64 old.

Yea i know those pipes Weren't in the og game which will make backtracking way more berrable Especially for the general white imo. i just hope they add a post game like luigies story or a boss rush to it to make it worth buying for the people who played it already otherwise they won't have Any Interest In It just like what happened to most people including myself with new super mario bros u dx it's no wonder that game failed imo. because it was an utterly Useless Remake why even Bother with it if you don't add anything to it it's boring and completely soulless garbage otherwise no offense you might as well just make a new game entirely if you don't add anything new that's what people wanted you wonder why people didn't backlash against wonder/ dream because it was something actually New.
It's similar to the warp pipes on the GC version, but there aren't more places to warp to. If you notice there are 7 pipes, one for each chapter, so I'm fairly certain that there are no new areas.

I like the map shows all the locations except for two, which is good for people who haven't played this game.

Just noticed smth... The amount of stars appearing during attacks doesn't seem to reflect damage anymore. Just an observation.
Yeah it does, 1 star appears for 1 damage, 4 stars for 4.

Is the pipe zone new?
Kinda, they had a pipe area underground in the OG version, but this one is much more compact and seems much more useful because it takes you to more places.
Looks like all the pipes are now condensed into one room now instead of multiple screens. And there are more pipes now also.

Hooktail soundtrack is way better than original the voice line for all characters is neat the new pipe room will save lot of trouble

Don't get me wrong, I thought Origami King's music was fine in its own game, but I really don't think it fits here. Really glad they have the GameCube badge because this soundtrack bothers me. It seems tonally inconsistent with what TTYD really is. I have a similar issue with the visuals, for example Rogueport is supposed to be dark and dingy, so it being brightened up here bothers me. But overall small issues, hopefully the final product is still good.
I see what you mean about the music. They couldn't completely decide on the direction of it, and took inspiration from The Origami King. Comes off as a bit foreign if that's the right word. However when it comes to the hard rock/metal, I am 100% on board. LOVED that about The Origami King's OST, and am glad that part is present here.
