This is one of the planes in which you have to have the CG exactly right and land it correctly. There is virtually no margin of error. This plane is VERY, VERY prone to landing accidents if not landed at the right angle and the right CG. It either bounces like a kangaroo until the landing gear breaks or it stops in the runway-whatever happens first. At the field I fly it is very common to see the A-10 perform kangaroo landings or even crash landings. It's a very tricky beast to land properly. You need the correct approach every time. Regarding battery, I always use the lightest practical ones. For single motor 70 mm EDFs (Avanti 70, Viper 70, T-45 70 mm) the standard is 6s 3200 to 3400 mAh. No more. I don't want to increase wing loading just to gain 30 more seconds of flight with the use of a 4000 mAh battery. Also, the standard time in these EDFs seems to be 3 minutes before you need to be already on landing approach. In the landing approach I heard that you switched to SAFE. Regarding that, remember that SAFE greatly diminishes control inputs so you don't go inverted or into an excessive bank. As it is, EDFs have very poor control response at low speeds due to the lack of prop wash. This, together with the severe limitations that SAFE imposes on the control surfaces, limits your elevator authority, which is greatly needed during landing approach. I don't have SAFE or gyros in any of my EDFs and the control response is so much better-and I do have the elevator authority I need during landing.

Why spend so much time of a maiden doing circuits rather than allowing time for some approaches before being stressed by a lowering battery. The approach was far too fast for that model of A10. So unnecessary - it isn't 'how the game is played'.

That's flying rc planes, I've been wanting the Eflite A10 bad, but my local club field has a very similar grass runway so I buy most planes with big beefy wheels so it handles those bumpy grass patches, my go to is the Eflite F4U Corsair and Timberx, and both 1.1. And 1.2 m T-28. That's very repairable and that's 1 reason I mostly stick to foamies.
