    If you’re looking for a fast growing aquatic plant, I’d highly recommend guppy grass (najas guadalupensis). Incredibly easy to grow. Doesn’t require CO2 injection, does well in low light, and doesn’t require fertilizers. It draws its nutrients from the water column so it can be left free floating, or if you prefer you can anchor it in the substrate.

    My favorite is Water Wasteria, because the aquarium will look more natural with the green color from Water Wasteria, but the others are also not bad depending on taste and can be rotated too.😅❤

    I absolutely love this list as it is more suitable for beginners than all the other lists out there which are filled with java fern and Anubias, which are not suitable for beginners in my opinion.
    My only nitpick is that I would replace the duck weed with dwarf Sagittaria.

      Thank and I agree I should have taken out duckweed due to being invasive. I’ll address that in a future tierlist video

      @AquariumStoreDepot I have no problem with duck weed, but I felt dwarf Sagittaria should have been included. The obvious replacement would be duck weed.

    Pearl weed is one of the plants I have ever grown in an aquarium. I think it can be used as a carpet, besides that it is easy to care for and grows quickly. In the future I will try other plants according to your recommendations. Your presentation is extraordinary, as a fish lover this helps me know a lot about aquatic plants. Thank You.

    Eelgrass or what you call Valice sceneria has to be my favorite aquarium plant. It comes from springs and rivers here in Florida, but I’ve seen it grow in 12 feet of water in a lake. It doesn’t need much light and doesn’t care about the substrate.

    Besides being good for reducing toxins in the tank the only good thing I'd say about duckweed is that if you have goldfish they love this stuff .Rotala indica is also an easy one to grow ,I've even had it grow outdoors in my small pond during the spring and summer and it even survived a Pacific NW winter and grew back the following spring plus it looks nice emersed .

    Personally, I would suggest Duckweed. Duckweed is an aquarium keeper's secret weapon! It not only adds a natural, vibrant touch to the tank but also helps maintain water quality by absorbing excess nutrients and providing cover for fish and aquatic creatures. Thanks for highlighting its importance; it's a small plant that makes a big difference in creating a healthy and thriving aquatic ecosystem!

      It’s great as long as you can manage it 😅. I’ve been trying to see if it’s okay to harvest for humans as there are health benefits if you eat it

      Duckweed is annoying. It stick and ends up everywhere.
      Whenever I want to add water into the aquarium due to evaporation, the duckweed goes all over the water column and sticks to the other aquatic plants, glass etc etc etc

    These plants are looking perfect to add in our aquariums with the significant growth they have. Hornwort is a great option. Fishkeepers don't really need a strong lighting to keep them alive. The plant can also survive in any water condition, which is nice! Thank you so much for doing this video.

    The elodea plant is very unique, another name is canadensis, with a slightly bright green color measuring 4 inches and fast growth and is highly recommended for aquariums.

    • @majorbruster5916
      @majorbruster5916 11 місяців тому

      You'll find that canadensis is just one species of Elodea, from the six in that genus. Anacharis is an old synonym and should be dropped from the aquarium literature. Elodea is not known as Brazilian waterweed, that is a different species, Egeria densa, and many experts 'in the know ' fail to see the difference, and such is the confusion that even many photographs and articles published on the Internet are erroneous. E. canadensis is an extremely invasive species in other parts of the world where it clogs waterways and smothers native species. Take care.

    I've never been successful with hornwort, I've noticed that angelfish, severum and mollies have particularly affinity towards hornwort. Many people says that fishes stays away because of the rough surface of hornwort leaves but in my case this is not true, no matter what my fishes eats all the leaves within an week . I feed my fishes 3x a day , yet they eat hornwort . Although I've great success with water wisteria. My tanks are primarily wisteria tank lol . Recently I've been successful with ambulia . I've tried ambulia in the past but never been successful. Brazilian waterweed is something that only angels are interested in , they can finish the leaves within 2-3 days . So till now water wisteria is the only plant they've shown some mercy, I mean they only eat the newest budding leaves, they leave the rest of the leaves intact. And I'm willing to try out some of the plants showed here for sure . I've to try and see which plant angers don't finish off .

      Hornwort requires a minimum amount of calcium carbonate in the water. I grew this species in my pond for years where it flourished to the point that I had to throw out buckets of it. On moving to Wales where the water was considerably softer, with no calcium in it, all of the hundreds of stems I took with me faded away and died. I didn't know this at the time of my move.

    Can we keep our goldfish with our angelfish

    • @AquariumStoreDepot
      @AquariumStoreDepot  Рік тому +1

      No - they have different temperature requirements. Even if you could get the goldfish accumulated to the temperature, it's likely the angelfish would bully them.
