Water wisteria will also propagate from leaves. If you allow freshly cut leaves (not dropped leaves) to float around your tank they will form roots within 2 weeks. You can plant the rooted leaves and they will form plants eventually.

I didn't know the bit about planting multiple nodes under the substrate to avoid melt, but it seems obvious. I typically do this anyway, just so they are sturdy and didn't float off, still good to know.
Will would you propagate floating wisteria similarly? Cutting it in same spot you demonstrated but floating instead of planting new pieces? The wisteria I ordered from you is doing great. Spread out between 3 tanks. I am floating most of it.
Most stem plants should root fairly well when floated so I would say yes! But you could give them even a bit more help but cutting a piece that has not only a few nodes but also some roots. This would give them an even better chance. That said I actually haven't grown much wisteria floating! Glad to hear the wisteria is growing well for you, its a lovely plant :)

@@AquariumPlantLab so i keep getting green hair algae in the tank with water wisteria i had the lights on for 6 hours for a while and the algae was pretty consistent and the wisteria wasnt growing as much. Then i put lights to 10 hours and the wisteria started growing like crazy but the algae also just staying around i pull it out all i can. I use a hyger 24/7 light, nilocg tabs and nilocg thrive S with sand. The goal is too have cherry shrimp in this tank so would probably help my algae issues a bit but atm it just houses bladder snails that im assuming came with the wisteria lol they dont bother me though i kinda like them. Unfortunately this hyger light only has 6,8 and 10 hour timers ill probably buy a seperate timer to set it at 8 idk if 8 hours would be the sweet spot if yhe algae has basically grown at the same rate at both 6 and 10 hours recently started using excel to see if that would slow it down while the tank balanced out more i guess tank is almost 2 months old now.

What are all the smaller plants on the bottom? They're awesome too! I am thinking of trying this plant, as for some reason, my water sprite won't live anymore. It was going insane in my tank, I LOVED it, but it randomly started to die almost entirely and I have NO idea why! Nothing changed. So upsetting.
Plants always have to convert when shifting environments, this applies to all changes including emersed/submersed, changes in water chemistry, lighting, ferts, temp, etc. I’ve got a few videos on this topic that you may find helpful, but in short you just want to make sure that your setup has all of the necessary components to adequately grow the species you want to grow. Plant them then let them take care of the rest on their own, plants are great at adapting to occasional environmental changes. Where you can get into trouble is if you plant them, then move them or otherwise keep messing with them, this continually restarts the adaption process causing excess stress. Hope that makes sense 🌱
I would make sure you have at least one leaf node under the substrate. Usually the roots come from leaf nodes anyway so if you completely cover that root you will probably be doing this. 👍

I just want to know that would those 9 would be able to grow new leaves in appropriate light and moisture. Please let me know.

Did you buy them from me or from somewhere else? I would take them out of your tank, use a clean razor and cut off all affected areas. Then do a quick bleach dip (Lookup how to do that). Aside from that all you can do is provide the best conditions possible for them. Make sure you have some fertilizer available to them. Make sure you have quality light. Good luck! 👍

That’s getting up there but probably doable. I haven’t kept wisteria that high so I can’t say for sure though. Most plants appreciate temps 5-10 degrees cooler in my experience anyway 👍

There could be two reasons for that. Water wisterias scientific name is hygrophila difformis. Which means it has two forms. Round leaves and more delicate dissected leaves. The specimen featured in this video actually has both forms to an extent. The other possibility is that you just don’t have water wisteria. It is often miss labeled in stores and confused with Water Sprite. 🌱

Good question! I typically plant at about 1.5 inches apart for larger stem plants. A tad closer for smaller stem plants 👍

I use LED shoplights and LED lightbulbs and they came from Walmart and grow this plant just fine.

Yup I leave them just like in the video. In my opinion the leaves help to anchor the stems until roots can form. 👍

Can this be planted in the gravel? My tank's substrate is gravel. . .
Yup, you can usually have success with this species in gravel. Some liquid aquarium plant ferts would be a good idea though 👍
