    In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

    One is on its way to me via UPS at this very moment. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. You probably saved me hours (maybe days) on the learning curve.

    Finally, someone actually shows how to use some features on this unit. I've sifted through ten videos to find your excellent tutorial. Thanks for making this. Do you have other videos showing features on this unit? I'm getting Helix 5 soon.

    Awesome video man! I just dropped off my boat to have a Gen 2 Helix 9 installed on the console and a Gen 1 Helix 9 on the bow. This helps give me a good idea of how to mark waypoints!

    I like the screen brightness that allows you to see the things on the screen in sunlight. My older 898C SI screen has to be shaded quite a bit before I can see the screen well. In fact some things I can't see on my screen when it's sunny outside even with an umbrella over the screen. I can only see things like fish and shadows when I bring the unit inside and review the films. Nice video and good job.

      One thing to remember about way points. They are measured from the transducer. So Where is your transducer when you mark a stump? If your boat is 18 ft long you need to know where your transducer is located on the boat when you mark those stumps. And I'm wondering if your sun glasses are polarized or not. I can't see the LCR type screens when wearing polarized sun glasses.

      @@rcagle123 I have a GPS puck that can be place 20 ft away from the depth finder unit and it's connected to the depth finder with a electrical cable. I put the puck right next to the transducer at the transom of my boat so that they are very close to each other.

    Thank you for the video! I finally got a Humminbird setup. Does anyone know if waypoints can be saved and viewed later on side imaging like they can with Mega 360? I have set waypoints using my side imaging but when I come back to fish them I only see them on my chart view and not on side imaging any longer. Please let me know. Thanks, Tony

    Good information, explained well, clear audio, BUT, camera too far from Humminbird, objects onscreen too small to see what you’re talking about. At about 7:40 you moved camera in & this made it much easier to see what you were talking about. Make more vids & move the camera closer to the screen :-)

      You can continue moving as once you begin to move the cursor over to what you want to put the waypoint on the screen stops. The only issue with that is you'll not be able to read what you are going over while you're making the waypoint.

    Again, when in split screen and fish show on traditional Sonar but NOT on Sideimaging the best imaging video should show how to do tweak for those to show on both. Otherwise you have no idea how far to cast and where.

    • @FishingHype-catch-the-hype
      @FishingHype-catch-the-hype  7 років тому +1

      Adam Turke, man Adam that's a loaded question without being able to be there and see what's going on but it definitely could be both transducer placement is huge settings our big key but are generally set pretty good out of the box to have a decent picture and then you can play with it from there and also if you're into thicker grass Tall Grass where the doesn't have a chance for the Side Imaging to get out and get a picture that can mess it up. make sure your settings for the Side Imaging are no deeper than three times the depth that you're looking at so if you're in 10 ft water Your Side Imaging should be 30 to 40 ft if you're in 20 ft water somewhere between 50 and 60 ft.
