ah yes funny man and a person who can make theories 100% easy to listen to and entertaining
I died laughing when you brought up Russian naming. As soon as you said "something Russians do with names" I immediately thought of Crime and Punishment and how absolutely tough that was just because of the names, so I'm really glad you were familiar (Such class and culture in these videos btw!)
It’s one of my favorite ways of poking fun at Russian Lit lol
I didnt see it as a weird russian name thing. Its more like each person has a different name for her.
I have different names from my family vs friends vs coworkers or customers or teachers and Im not russian. Maybe what they call her is indicative of how close they are to her with arlecchino and pierro being closer to her than capitanto and capitano closer than anyone who calls her signora
That's exactly how the Russian name system works (am not Russian but am learning Russian)
Much like a Japanese person will have one person calling them Kirishima~sama and another Kirishima~kun, (and can use given names when especially close) Russian has different names for each person based on their relationships to that person, but in a more strict manner, also they change the entire name, not just the ending, but the names are loosely related
Regarding what you said about Arlecchino's line about "We don't want to make the children cry.", I'm not entirely sure if it's a pun directed towards Childe. I haven't seen it being mention as a intentional joke of some kind for the Japanese and Chinese version of the trailer (though if it is meant to be an intentional joke in other languages, someone may feel free to let me know), only on the English speaking side of the fandom, and Arlecchino I do believe said basically the same line from what I've seen from translations. Also, if she was referring to Childe in that line, I would think she would use "child" instead of "children".
As to what she means when she said that... honestly I don't know, but it is an interesting line if you did The Very Special Fortune Slip hidden quest (though if it is in reference to that, it's a confusing one, though perhaps intentionally so[?]).
She runs an orphanage. It produces Fatui soldiers. She was making a reference to her sinister orphanage.
Thinking about this now (Sumeru Act 4 spoilers)
We are told that Rukkedavata shrunk and became a young girl (Nahida) But we have to remember that this is just coming from a very faulted, very limited by their own experiences and knowledge, human. Genshin Impact has been very careful (even emphasizing in Liyue) to remind us that unreliable narrators exist all over the place. He doesn't know what happened at Khanri'ah and he wasn't there. He didn't see what actually happened. I say, much like the actual Tree was burned down and is dead, but left behind a seed, Rukkedavata is gone. She's dead, but she left a seed (Nahida)
Nahida is not Rukkedavata. She is Rukkedavata's daughter. (Definitely not saying that she gave birth like a human on the battle field lol. Just look at Greek Mythology as an introduction to the fact that gods have never reproduced other gods in a normal way)
This is also packed onto by the fact that Zhongli is a much more reliable narrator than the human (especially considering that he was there at Khanri'ah) and he asserts that Venti and him are the only gods remaining from the original archon war (which we have confirmation that Rukkedavata won)
That end bit though oml
Hear me out : Maybe the burning Irminsul is a key into the Fatui "betrayal" of the Archons, or into their anti Celestia plan (Celestia struck down the Frostbearing irminsul at Dragonspine). Rukhhadevata was an Archon and her consciousness was connected to all Irminsul. Maybe she at the time of her death realised the truth of the Fatui VS Celestia and tried to make sure people (or at least the new Archon?) would remember the burned tree by leaving a message in the great Sumeru Irminsul. ".... world...forget me..." Do not let the world forget me.....? The knowledge burned down with the irminsul must be remembered?
Whatever the circumstances of her death were (censorship kill by Celestia? War death but evidence destroyed by Tsaritsa?) she left a message. Maybe Dottore burnt down what she believed to be sacred knowledge, but the Fatui know to be Celestia propaganda?
having just finished the sumeru archon quest this all makes so much more sense 🫡 them saying they’ll “seize authority from the gods” makes their motive for undermining+imprisoning nahida, and creating the fake god to replace her, FAR more clear. excited to see their next steps
Just realized every element ends with “o” to make “cryoculus” and stuff like that
made me think about how oculus kinda means eye and we're collecting these "eyes" from all over teyvat in different places of meaningful things happening. behind the more beautiful and meaningful puzzles these eyes wait to be collected.
some of them tell the tale of how a certain land was created or came to existing, like the spears thrown by the geo archon during the archon war that created an island and then having a geoculus on top of the spears. or mondstadt having an anemoculus under or above certain cliffs hinting these cliffs were created not in natural means.(Venti's works after Decarabian era)
Every oculus behind some important gate that has a whole quest to unlock it... basically Oculus - Eyes - proof that you have **seen** the history of Teyvat.
fantastic video as always! absolutely worth staying up til 5am to think about.
do you have any thoughts on the last scene in the trailer? it sounds as if the dialogue between dotorre minor and columbina appeared to collei in a dream or vision. however her reaction to it seems to imply that it wasn't her own memory. we know that collei was injected with archon residue. if you're correct that the tree that dottore burnt was the final resting place of the former dendro archon, i wonder if the residue originated from the god of wood. to that end, i wonder if the memory actually originated from the remnants of the god of wood, which is why collei is surprised.
is this a bit of a stretch? idk, i have to brush up on my manga lore so i might have missed something.
I feel like anything beyond "Dottore burned a tree" is a stretch, but I really do like where you're taking the idea of the tree being the God of Woods resting place. We don't entirely know when that vision took place, so it very could be from the god of wood. Although, it could also just be some standard leyline fuckery because the leylines remember all.
The internet: HOT!
Me: I'm here for the lore step aside!
i am crying this is amazing
Close but a segment is not a clone. A segment would imply they share the same mind. A clone would not. It would have its own mind. His segments are all him. It means they won’t get into disagreements like clones could. They can’t backstab each other like clones could. And….. segments can combine
Not only did Ei lose a bunc of authority.
The tri-commision did too.
But I still believe it was directed to Celestia moreso than to the nations of Teyvat.
Wow first video i see on youtube that someone catch same melody from Signora boss fight and then trailer teaser song i though i was the only one very good 👍
Bro thats the erdtree. Dont mind that stuff its just my elden ring playthrough leaking into genshin
maybe this is a sign I should play elden ring...
NG back now after sumeru is weird how correct he was about stuff
The way I interpreted the old world resting place is that once they accomplish their mission, the time period of her death will be considered the old world.
I also thought smth regarding the chess board (idea given by a tiktok my friend sent me, where it basically established white pawns= celestia, black pawns = fatui)
Ok so in a chessboard there 6 different types of pawns which 1. Means well have multiple knights/rooks/bishops for the gnosis, bcs if anyone is a pawn on that side, it would be the traveler
Also, there’s 8 simple pawns but 11 harbingers. We know that Signora and Childe are pawns (Signora in the trailer, Childe states it). But that means that at least 3 harbingers aren’t represented by pawns. My theory is just that, if Pierro is on the chessboard, he’s a bishop. Simply because the name in other languages (french Ik for sure) is “the fool” , which is a theme we see reoccurring with him
Hi I like your videos
I’m going to guess that the Divine Gaze is a reference to your third eye. I would think that connecting to the gnosis will cause an avalanche of information to rush into your mind. So much that it could cause madness. Unless you’re built like an archon and can “conquer” it (withstand the sudden rush of information).
I would guess that archons who failed the gnosis went mad and likely had to be put down. Hence the Archon Wars.
Sup, bro. :)
Ei and Yae have referred to Visions as “Divine Gaze.”
Weirdly enough you completely disregarded the ending scene which implied that the burning tree was just a dream.
Yes, but also this is a fantasy setting, which pretty much means that dreams are never to be dismissed
@@WhaleMilk What I mean is you actually made no comment on that part at all as if it didn't exist. Feels like an omission of a direct and plain explanation by mihoyo overthought into a theory xD
Yet since the video is all about overthinking stuff into theories, the more the better.
So was the coffin simply for show and formality? Or did the fatui go to tenshukaku with a broom and dustpan and just 🧹🧹🧹?
Realistically it would be for show but I love the idea of Pierro in a maid outfit sweeping up Signora’s ashes
@@WhaleMilk Lmfao or Capitano, that image just made my day better 🤣
what dottore mean he got nahida in his hands
= D
Why do you post every 2 months?
I’m a busy person
