I’d rather have “too many” details in one video than to keep looking for more information elsewhere. Thanks for the work!
Agreed.
As usual a wonderful video. Amazing detail. Usually I won't need to watch another one after watching yours because you literally cover everything! The perfect buyer's guide in my book! Keep it up!
Thank you so much for the kind words my friend. So glad the video was helpful.
Thanks for such a thorough review of the A6600. It would be a major expenditure for me and not one that I could afford to correct later. You answered all my questions and more. Your presenting style was easy to watch too. Have subscribed for the future.
THIS is the kind of video I was looking for!
Awesome details and all questions answered.
Exactly what I need to know when trying to decide wether I want to buy this camera.
Thank you so much!
You’re so welcome. Glad I could help.
Appreciate the great Overview Comparison. Looking forward to digging deeper and using your video resources as they are very clear and easy to fall.
Finally I have got mine a6600 with 18-135mm still learning how to use well 😊
Graduated from the a6300 to the a6600, the battery, overheating issue resolved, better skin tones, IBIS (people complain about this for video but it's intended for stills where it makes a big difference) amazing autofocus and HLG make it totally worth the upgrade. Use it paired with the 16mm and 56mm Sigma mostly. A lot of reviews call APC's "great B cameras" but I've been using them as my A cameras professionally for years.
Super appreciate you sharing your journey. I have ZERO problems with an APS-C sensor being an A cam. Even when I my cinema cameras: ua-cam.com/video/Knqufkb35kY/v-deo.html I'm technically using a Super 35 so it's essentially the same size. The a6600 is an absolute beast. Congrats on the upgrade!
Found you yesterday and already subscribed. Love the insight and level of detail you provide in your videos.
This video was great! Thanks for your hard work and sharing this information.
Nice full review! Simple and explanatory
Amazing content brotha! Keep up the grind! I started watching your videos back when you first began. You’ve come a long way! I always knew you’d blow up! When I buy my first camera I’ll know what to get because of this channel
James - I'm so grateful to those who have been with me since the beginning. It's great to hear that the videos have been helpful 🙏
So true
Great presentation. You have a wonderful and believable on camera presence.
Excellent review ! I think you are the only reviewer I have seen actually showing the connection of the camera to the smartphone, smthg that every potential buye WILL do at some point. So thank you for this. I love your reviews and your real “user” centric approach.
Quick little remark: when there are lots of figures and/or a long list of camera specs, written callouts on screen would be helpful :-)
Appreciate the feedback my friend and glad the video was helpful. I'll try to incorporate some overlays with things like framerates, etc. 🙏

CORRECTION: Face tracking and real-time eye AF does work with an external monitor if you're shooting 4k 24 and 4k 25 but does not work in 4k30
What's up everyone?! I hope this review of the Sony A6600 was helpful. What did you think? Do you think it’s worth getting over the a6400? Are the IBIS, battery life and real-time eye af tracking enough for you to spend the extra cash? Let me know
Was there too much detail? Not enough? What did you like, and also, what did you not like? What would you like to see more of? Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏
Waiting for Fuji x-t200 test
Need to get one!
Nice to see someone including the PAL´s. Good one!
Just want you to know that your super detailed review pushed me to purchase this camera
got it now..?if yes...satisfied?
Thanks for the review. I have been shooting with the A6000 for years and love the camera. It has such a compact shape that is smooth across all sides unlike the fuji and other cameras with extra dials/view finder across the top. I constantly used the tiny built in flash and also shot a good number of panoramas. Now, after all these years, the brand new Sony A6600 has eliminated the internal flash and in camera panorama. Ridiculous. I cannot fathom why the newest and supposedly best camera, also the most expensive one of this series, eliminated the A6000 very useful features of panorama and in camera flash.
it's definitely a strange move. But they do have the 6400 and a6100 as options and you can save some $$$
Most professionals don't use on camera flash. High end cameras do not have flash built in. If you're a serious strobist you probably never pop up the unit. It's not strange it's just not something you're familiar with
Thanks for the insight. I'm quite familiar as I never use on camera flash. As I mentioned in the video it's a small and portable camera and it would have been nice to have a built in flash for fill or during certain mid-light situations. None of my actual professional bodies have a built-in flash which is expected.
Remarkable review. You really should have hundreds of thousands of subscribers with such detailed and complete reviews.
Thank you my friend
You know what. I am happy i found your channel. Subscribed. Thank you for a good content.
So glad you found it as well. Welcome!
great walkthrough. so thorough and detailed. i just ordered a used a6600 with a sigma 56mm and cant wait for it to arrive to try all this
Congrats on the new gear!!! Thanks so much for the kind words about the video. I appreciate you for being part of the channel!
You are the real deal man thanks nothing is left behind explained in simple detail.
Glad I could help!
Another awesome video review. I was contemplating getting the A6400 back when I purchased my Canon 90D but went with the 90D because of the touch screen. I love the image you get from Sony cameras but the thing that stops me from going Sony is the lack of a full featured touch screen. But this camera has such awesome video quality and much better Auto focus features then my 90D. Sorry for the long post...
It’s definitely a powerful camera. Thank you again for sharing your thinking
Want mine?
@@sharondeutscher2690 lol... Yes please.... I will be getting one eventually though, joking aside, as I just love the color features and it would work better with my Sony Video camera.
Yes, I would miss the touch screen features I get on my 90D, but I would still like to get one some day.
GREAT JOB! The whole vid is well laid out! Keep on TRUCKIN!!
Thanks so much Earl! Appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback 🙏
Many thanks for such informative video. Can you please also make a detailed video on what are the best lenses available for a6600 like for video, potrait etc.
Thanks again
You're so welcome - glad it was helpful. Yes, I can do that type of video. The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and 56mm f/1.4 are amazing affordable options (if you don't want to wait)
Great review, thanks for making it! It shouted in surprise when seeing the length but am happy to have watched the entire video.
A quick question: Since the A6600 supports external 4:2:2 recording, does the smaller brethren A6400 too, or is it a new feature?
Hi and thank you - I had a lot to say 😂🤣
Yes, they it will do 8 bit 4:2:2 externally. I hope that helps. I also did a comparison of the three model (+a6100) if you want to see more: ua-cam.com/video/TrAe8XaYwwY/v-deo.html Welcome to the channel!
Sometimes I feel like you are too detailed ;) AMAZING JOB
Ha, I know, this one was long, LOL! But it was more like a talk about the camera 😂🤣
Super accurate review! I shot yesterday about 6 hours with my a6600 and I still had 5% left of the battery. All the filming is done outdoors, 1080p 50M. First time when I shot, in cold conditions, couple of weekended ago, one battery held for 4.5 hours. I got 2 batteries. I am contemplating the idea of getting a power bank/external battery for longer use, since it's about 4 or 5 times cheaper than these Z-type batteries, but they are thei shit. Looking forward to the next videos on the A6600.
Super appreciate you sharing the battery life experience at different temps! You can also get third party batteries, but since you're shooting for so long, having a powerbank as a backup is awesome. I use that for long days out and just keep the camera plugged in whenever I can.
I've just watched both your videos on A6600 and A6400 and I still can't 100% decide which one I want for my set up. And that's not the result of your videos, they're amazing and love the detail here. Your summary at the end suggesting more video go with 6600, does make sense, I just don't think the feature step up justifies the price increase. Also... the lack of USB C is really bugging me... why??? I'd love to be able to record straight to a USB C drive or just use the same charger as everything else these days.
Hi Tom - thank you for watching and for the kind words. Unless I absolutely needed the IBIS (which personally I don't) and the video eye af (which is actually really nice to have) I would go with the a6400. I'd rather spend the rest of the money on lenses. If I want truly stable footage, than I'm using a gimbal regardless of which camera I have. To record externally, you would need an external recorder like an Atomos Ninja V and use the HDMI out (this would be true even if they used USB-C - BUT STILL, USE USB-C!!!)
Appreciate having you as part of the community 🙏
This kind of review I'm looking for!! Amazing!!

Hey! Yeah all the urban exploration looked great! So it seems like the 16mm Sigma really is a solid purchase. I’ve compared cameras a lot through your videos and others’, and I think I’ll eventually get the M6 Mark II and the Sigma 16mm. Your videos are invaluable in making decisions like these!
That lens is so good, seriously. The M6MKII and that 16 would be a dream canon aps-c setup. So glad the videos are helpful - appreciate your support Scott!
Thank you very much for this super informative video. Liked!

Wow what a great detailed review good job 👏!
I'm so glad it was helpful. Thanks for the kind words Richard 🙏
Very good and comprehensive review. Would be great if you could label the lens you paired the camera to for your sample photos and videos throughout.
Thanks for the kind words! That's a really good idea. Most of the photos (other than portraits) were shot with the Sigma 16mm I showed in the video. I'll work on that though!
Many many thanks for all this explanation.. it is very useful
I have a question is this resolution will b enough to print photos as with large size?
Love the detailed review

thank you for the good overview.
You're very welcome - hope it was helpful!
Great video as always! Question, I’m a beginner and I would like to know which lenses do you recommend for the Sony 6600 that will get a similar angle field of a full frame camera? Hopefully that can work for both video and photography. Thanks for the help! 😃
Hi, your videos are so great. Will the kit lens that comes with the a6600 be appropriate for filming yoga/fitness videos indoors from about 10' away? Between the a7iii and a6600 I I'm leaning towards the a6600 for these videos.

Thanks for this great video. I am buying the a6400 because of your great review. However, could you please recommend which sigma or cheaper lens would be a good lens for interview style, to get a blur background and a sharp view of the person interviewed in the video? Is the 16mm good for this? Many thanks
So far you are the best reviewer I have seen.
Oh wow, thanks so much.
Lovely review very educational and easy to follow your expertise. Follow up video?
I’m not a Sony guy, but I’m following and enjoying your amazing photos! Wow. Excellent ideas 💡and angles. I agree with you about the negative aspects of that camera, mostly after the Fuji one (the silver one ☝️) was out, but it looks small, light and easy to handle. Filming more than 30 minutes- priceless! Excellent video my friend. I enjoy how you go deep the rabbit hole showing every single detail of the product. And what can I say about your b rolls? Dope! 120fps! 😲 man! You’re making me jealous now! Thanks for sharing 👊

Great video!!
Like others have commented, we would love to see a X-T4 vs a6600 battle!
Thanks so much Nicholas. I'll get one going as soon as I can get a production model of the X-T4.
First impression: Wow, great background and photos!
The biggest things missing for me were: You kept comparing the 6600 to the 6400 rather than the 6500 which it supplants. Also, the big complaint besides overheating and battery life for the 6500 was the poor performance of the LCD in sunlight. I didn't see you test that, though it appears the screen is better than on the older models.
Your photos really help sell this camera, though I know it's more you than the equipment.
I'll check your other reviews and recommendations. Maybe you or someone else will address the LCD.
I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and for the kind words. Thank you for joining the community 🙏
Awesome photos !
Wow Another Great Video
Thanks so much my friend 🙏
love your reviews as these are more into longer more detail presentation. Just want to ask how's your experience with canon lenses being adapted to sony? I am thinking of adding a sony camera to my gear (all my cameras are canons) because of the dynamic range and video capabilities. Do you think I'll be fine if all my lenses are from canon?
Thanks. The lenses will work well for photos - but not video (unless you use manual focus).
What a perfect review! Great job!!!
Oh wow, thanks so much my friend 🙏 Thanks for joining the channel
@@TechGearTalk the pleasure is all mine! What a find you've been!
#grateful
I have the A6400, I thought about upgrading but seems all I would gain is the battery as the ibis is almost useless. I could probably sell this a6400 probably $700-$800 used but would have to fork up another $400 or so plus tax, all that for a battery upgrade. I don't know I feel like the money would be well spent on a few more lenses or just upgrade to A73. I'm in this weird spot where the a6600 is the king of apsc and the a6400 is the underdog yet they're the same camera for the most part. Either way love how much knowledge you provide to us, keep it up!
Appreciate you sharing your thought process and glad the video was helpful in making a decision!

Many thanks for your video that's great review.
Could you help me about using Tokina 11-20mm canon mount on A6000 for astrophotography and landscapes photography please.
I want to buy this lens.
You are very welcome, hope it was helpful. The Tokina is a good option at the price because it's both wide and fast! Will you be using the MC-11?
If the Sony really makes the difference in the output that is where it counts. The usual wonky interface is a concern. No flipping screen, and menus, and touch screen. If it has the A9 and A7iii goodness inside. This will be a murdering APS-C camera. I am very much watching Sony closely. I want the RX-10 ii for a do it all ready to go and give me all I want. It is a 1 inch sensor camcorder with oversampled from 6K video in a bridge camera. The 4K is outstanding, and the Neutral Density Filter is nice. I have decided on Filmora 9 as my hassle free video editor. I want to do Premier and Davinci Resolve but not yet. Those are actual work, I want to have fun too and not get quite drug down by the more powerful workflows. The Sony A6600 camera I will be watching closely. Thanks for your comprehensive review.
Filmora can do a lot, so that's a nice way to start. I used the RX10IV and it was great ua-cam.com/video/piVizzzImEU/v-deo.html
Please compare with fujifilm xt4 or xt3❤️❤️ by the way love from 🇮🇳 india
I will do both for sure.
@@TechGearTalk 🤔
I have been a subscriber for a while now and really like your videos. I feel and am asking the right person here about lenses form the a6600. I shoot YT videos and love photos of florals and want to start some night photography. I see in a recent video you used the Sigma 18-35 f2.8 (must of used an MC-11) and had impressive results. I would lie to see a comparison of the new Sony 16-55 f1.8 G alongside the Sigma. I want to pare one of these with the Sony a6600. Thank you for your videos and please keep up the fine work you do for all of us.
Thank you for being with me all this time 🙏 I would always opt for a native lens (all things being equal). One correction, the Sony is a 2.8, rather than a 1.8 I'll see if i can get one!!!
Welp I've seen enough of you popping up in my home feed so I'm subscribed.lol Plus you're very helpful.
Persistence pays off 😂🤣 Appreciate you joining and supporting the channel 🙏
@@TechGearTalk 😂 right. I'm trying to decide if I really *need* the A7III or get this and save in the long run on lenses and accessories. I don't really see much limitations on APS-C cameras outside of perception that full frame equals more serious work but I think the smaller cameras can handle a full load.
I have several FF cameras and I have never felt that I "needed" them. To be totally honest, I reach for my aps-c cameras more... convenience...
@@TechGearTalk coming from the a6000 the a6600 makes a lot of sense for me especially with the much improved battery life. Thanks for the dialogue.
No doubt - huge upgrade.
Great review. Is there a update for the sony a6600? My image quality only goes up to 20m which is odd
Again, nice video. I know this will be off topic but, can you make a video about how you set up your Zhiyun Weebill S with a heavy camera, like the 90D.
I no longer have the 90D with me, but it didn't require anything special even with the 24-70. No special plate or counter weights. Maybe I can show you with the 5DMKIII and the same lens?
@@TechGearTalk Thanks.
I’ll do an Instagram live maybe.
i am still contemplating to get this with the tamron 17-70 or a a7c with kitlens and just save up for a better lens down the line
Looking over videos about Sony 6000 series of cameras. I am wanting to get into photography and video more and am leaning toward the 6400 as a start. Thanks for the info on the 6600
Glad this was helpful Gary. I have detailed reviews for all of them and this comparison: ua-cam.com/video/TrAe8XaYwwY/v-deo.html
I have always enjoyed your reviews, I currently have the Sony A7III, and was looking at this A6600 to pair with my Sony 200-600mm lens. Being the 6600 is a crop and would give me more reach then the A7III without having to use super 35 mode. Have you any thoughts on that combo thank you.
That would be an awesome setup Tim - ALL THE REACH!!!
If you are finding that you need that extra cropping power, it would be a great pair. Let me know if you get it!
The 200-600 is a lens I would love to own some day.
I was waiting for this 😎
Let me know what you think!
great as always 👏🏼
Thank you so much brother!

Hello my friend! I do really like your channel, it helps me a lot. Well, I need your suggestion before I make a big investment. It is 2021, one year later than u made this video. I am a travel vlogger and I use almost all the time my gopro as a main camera. But, but, but! In low light or night time, the gopro sucks! So this is the reason why I do ask your advise for Would you recommend the a6600 in 2021? Is there some better video camera than this one for low light now on the same price range? Thank you very much in advance
Awesome bro, Loved it. As always packed with great info need to pick from the GH5 and the 6600. Stay safe and keep em coming brother. ^5s

A6400 is the best of the best from price point and features. Plus it has the built in flash that is deal breaker for me I am not changing mine for another 5 years

I havent seen the whole video but i really appriciate and love the way you make video and explain thin and thick o the product....2ndly those time stamps are awesome to enjoy video as well....thumbs up bro...just want advice from you I am confused to buy a cam...what would you suggest me between Canon 200d or sony a6400 as my use is for video making...and what other option would you suggest...i use continous clip...
Thank you for the kind words. The a6400 has no recording limit, so that's a big advantage over the 200d if you plan on using it.
Yes i did heard that while writing my comment...😉 but will give priority to your suggestion....thumbs up...👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
👍🏻
Brother you have mentioned that a6600 has unlimited recording option...does a6400 also have same option...cause you have mentioned a6400 has unlimited video option
Yes, both have that
My first apsc is a6400 (with Sigma 16mm and Sony 35mm OSS). I was contemplating in between a7iii, a6600 (or even XT4) as my next. After so much research, I was 90% for a6600 due to it's smooth auto focus transitions, ergonomics, form factor and of course price (both body and lenses). And you just made it 100%! Thanks for being so detailed. I learned so many about my next camera in this video alone compared to anywhere else (Yes I can read and understand English. But since I'm a new hybrid shooter, I don't really know what the hell I just read LOL!). Love your channel man!
What's up Firdaus! That is a nice setup a6400+16+35. I'm so glad that the video was helpful. This is a fantastic camera, and it will be a super natural transition. If you're looking for that IBIS and the better battery life (plus real time eye af) - you'll love it! Appreciate having you as part of the channel! (is this the first video you've seen?)
Since I'm mostly a video shooter than stills, it wasn't just the IBIS (it ain't that impressive anyway but it's better than nothing). But a little bit of everything. And I'm just looking for my A cam (a6400 is my B cam and will stay in my studio most of the time; unless during travel of course). And I needed something that will last for a good few years. Initially I thought the next camera for me after a6400 would be a7iii (because it's a full frame). But I was wrong because I prefer my gears to be compact yet powerful. Besides, I don't shoot professionally and that flip up screens are so important for framing! So, a6400 and a6600 would be a great combo (trust me when I say this - it's so hard to decide because every information online keep suggesting either to dive straight to a6600 instead of a6400 or to dive straight into a7iii if you've already have a6400). But I didn't jump on the a6600 yet because it had a really bad rep ever since the launch. I've been tuning to your channel since I bought my first apsc (along with other stuff such as iFootage). Think I watched more than 50% of your videos by now. And you have a lot of detailed and awesome videos (despite being 40 minutes, I like this one the best). In fact, your quote "Buy it nice or buy it twice" is stuck in my head forever. Because it's true LOL!
I super appreciate you being part of the channel all this time 🙏
I think the a/b cam a6600, a6400 is perfect. Re-use lenses, same for factor (very similar), nice and small, no recording limit!! 👊
Yup.
Also, I'm aiming to sell the 35mm (idk why but the images it produces is a bit soft to my taste and I don't like how it looks on the camera especially with a cage; but it has OSS) and add Sigma 30mm, 56mm (to complete the trifecta) and Sony 85mm f1.8.
While I'm pretty sure about 56mm and 85mm, idk about the Sigma 30mm and Sony 35mm. From your experience, which of the two is sharper on the a6400 (without IBIS)?
I love the sigma trio (I currently have the ef-m trio and the 16 E-mount) They are all sharp enough for me. Most of the photos in this video were shot with the 16
Thanks for this Ultimate Review of a6600. I've watched a lot of a6600 VS a7iii videos and still not sure which one to buy!
You're very welcome. What do you like about each model? I'll try to help.
Which one did u buy cause im debating which one to buy
@@Rollinjoint Didn't buy any one yet. I need one of them for: UA-cam, Vlogging, everyday memories, B-Roll .. etc
@@sameeroafbazivich2832 I am in the same spot and I am pretty sure I will go with the a6600 or 6400 mostly cause I feel it is the better option for vlogging and day by day use for the price, the a7III is amazing but just seems like a bit much for vlogging and also no twisty screen and so on, seems like a way more dedicated professional FF cam
@@Semjasa616I agree with you. Look like I'll go for a6600. It has all I need and more.
One of the other reviewers shows the autofocus working with a monitor connected in 4K 24p.
That's correct John. I have it in the pinned comment as a correction. Appreciate you taking the time to share 🙏
Could you do a comparison to the 90D? Currently thinking of upgrading to one of those two from my M50...
Working on it. What about upgrading to this: ua-cam.com/video/Nir8pfvfdFI/v-deo.html (similar features but be able to re-use the lenses). You can also use these lenses: ua-cam.com/video/uORT1dfeS0M/v-deo.html
I was convinced to buy Canon 200D after watching ur video last year. U deserve 1m Sub within this year. What a detailed video this is! Thank u Sir.....
So glad the video was helpful! Thank you so much for spreading the word to others who are interested and helping the channel grow 🙏
@@TechGearTalk 🤔🤔🤔🤔
How would you compare this now with the A7C? I like the A6600 Sigma 16 setup and wondering if it would be the same with A7C and 18mm samyang.
i like background set up more than jaint moitor back... nice video
Thanks for the feedback my friend 🙏
Wow... Just wow! How on earth you can cover all the points in that much detail, there is all you need to know about the camera.
You're Great brother 👍 just amazing!
Keep Rocking 🤘
Btw finally I received my dummy Battery(dc coupler) for 800D/T7i and 10000mah powerbank (5V/2A) and 5v to 8.1v stepup module, It works flawlessly, Now I can shoot all day long ( even 3 days straight)
Thanks so much Akshay, I appreciate you always being one of the first to watch and provide feedback. CONGRATS on getting the dummy battery and power bank - super glad that's working for you. 3 DAYS!!!!
@@TechGearTalk We'll always with you 🙌
👊🙏
Great work!
Since you tried A6600 and XT4 what do you choose? And why?
Thanks Mario. They are both outstanding. I would probably pick the X-T4 unless I needed better low-light performance (which I rarely do) or unlimited recording.
Great video Sagi!
Appreciate it brother!
@@TechGearTalk You're welcome. Your video convinced me to get the A6600 as a new hybrid shooter. I'm currently using the M50 as my main hybrid shooter doing more video than stills along with an older Canon 60D DSLR for stills only. My daughter has the A6300 and I really like the image quality from it. Between her camera experience and your channel, I'm going to get the A6600 to tide me until one of those new canon full frame mirrorless cameras go on sale ;-).
Now you can share some lenses!
