I’ve been chases that noise on my Cadillac for like 2 months now. I’ve checked everything and the only thing I can’t see is the exhaust manifold. Makes total sense. I’m pulling it off today. Thank you.
The caliper clip. The rubber that goes between the bolt to keep it from rubbing together was pretty much worn out and broken causing the noise in my case
Also my exhaust manifold was leaking air causing it to make noise when pressing gas. Got that fixed and the noise was gone but the front right tire was also making noise not squealing but more like a rattling and it was the rubber that was worn out
Thank you heaps mate, I was about to try and find what pulley was squealing, but this makes so much more sense! Especially because I just cleaned my EGR, I must've left a gap somewhere. Maybe a metal gasket shouldn't have been reused or a bolt not done up enough. Investigation time!
My sisters Xtrail came to me today with the same noise /squeal .I changed to genuine belts and was quiet for a week then noisey again so took belts off and ran engine and noise still there .Will investigate the manifold .Did you sort yours out ??
@@dukedre7596 I sprayed some soapy water along the manifold to head join and there was a leak at timing chain end .Now I don't know what caused it in the end as I buggered some threads up trying to remedy the situation by trying to tighten the studs more it's a long story but I had to helicoil a few threads in the head in situ and made my own studs from threaded bar and fit a new exhaust manifold gasket .Manifold seemed fine but I ran a file across the ports a few times just to clean off ..All good now
@@dave1455 Sounds good . I’ll look at mine this weekend and update you also . I have a feeling might have to change my manifold gasket . Examining my engine manifold I don’t see any signs of cracks. Thanks much for the info. Really appreciate it
Brilliant mate, I have this exact noise on my L200. Was thinking a turbo maybe done. But seems there is sealant around where the turbo joins the manifold. So this maybe the issue.
My sisters Xtrail has had an awful squeal and I eventually found that was the exhaust manifold leaking .It's almost an identical design as this one on the patrol .I will get it machined as when using a straight edge on the faces it isn't perfectly flat .
Better climate and no salt on roads does wonders :) Thanks for stopping in Pat, I'll be heading back to the salt roads for a holiday later in the year. Looking forward to it :)
Have a wiseling noise on my 3.2 Ranger. Sound like a siren. Starts at 1000 revs, going to a higher pitch when reving up. Checked, run a full diagnostic check by Ford. Turbo, hoses, connections clamps, intercooler. Changed most fan belt pulleys, including compete fan. Cant find where it comes from. A ideas will be appreciated. Its driving me crazy. Even people and dogs get out of the way.
We have alot of problems on our ambulance manifold distorting across crafters, ducatos and sprinters we have used a straight edge to see if manifold is warped but great video
Also think heat off turbo and bad design causes warped and cracked manifold and also regen temperature going upto 800 degrees must have a bad effect on manifolds
My van was doing this and then I pairked it for a couple of hours and tried it again it seems to go away as it warms and does it mostly when it's cold but I believe this is what my problem is
Thats how my car sounds (vw caddy) but cant get it to make that noise while standing still, only under load, im guessing its the exhaust manifold bolts being lose or the gaskets given up?
I have a 2016 f150 and was told I need to replace the right and left manifolds. It’s making this sound but to me it sounds like it’s coming from the rear and it continues even when I’m not pressing the petal
I have been chasing this sound in my Nissan Patrol ZD30, this might be/probably is my problem, thanks. Just one question: does it make sense, like in my case that this noise goes away after the engine warms up, after about 10 min driving?
@@thomasshovlin2365 Gerard is right in my case, it's the manifold, I am booked in to get it replaced. When the engine warms up and the metal expands, it seals up and the squealing stops.
I have this sound omg thx you i was goin mad. Everytine when acceleraring or movign i ngarage (especialy in undeground fuck that was loud and embarassing)
I was about to pay someone to put a new engine on my car.that’s what the shop told me it meet it.But thanks to you I and up fixing it myself.

Hello there! I am in a similar situation. Any updates on your side?
Yep having the same issue, i noticed a bolt was broken and causing all that noise finally was able to diagnose it. Thanks 😊
Glad it helped, thanks for taking the time to comment 🙏🙏
Bolt on the rim? Im having same issue and i think thats the problem.

Had the same problem on a Mercedes Sprinter the other day, exact same noise. Good job
Thanks Johann
Have exactly the same sound from a Jeep Renegate. Soapy water bubbles where the turbo housing joins the manifold
Yep, I had this exact issue on my ZD30 Patrol GU

Good work, Burke !👍
Thanks! 👍
Thanks Gerard, a very clear explanation.
Very informative and well explained, thank u
Excellent diagnosis and yes I thought it was the turbo too.
Thank you G Mc
Excellent troubleshooting.
That’s the exact noise mine is making under load thank you
Sigh, thats a lot of work to get to my exhaust manifolds on my 370z . With that said, Thankyou!
I just put a new motor in my z and got sound very similar.. so I feel ya I don't wanna do all that again
am having that issue with my 2011 w204 c220 cdi right now
Wow! I have that same sound coming from my VR6, mine sounds like that but goes away when I gas it.
Did you lose performance uphill and did you notice more turbo lag?
I’m having this issue noise on my 2019 Xtrail . It’s non turbo . But the sound only happens when accelerating over 1500 RPM. Any help ?

wrote the comment before watching the video, guess you just went over the exact thing i think is wrong with mine xD

Does this need to be replaced asap or can you run it with the squeal for a few weeks
have this noise on My GTD golf Mk6 was told its the turbo that's making the noise
Didi you solve the problem?
Would this cause lack of performance as well …showing similar symptoms to a failed turbo?
Precisely this.
Have this problem with my td5 and until the manifold warms up and 'moulds' to seal a bit better I have about half horsepower at best

So, how much would a job like this run you? This just began happening seemingly out of nowhere for me. I have a 2014 toyota rav4.
Thank you 🫶
I have same issue but l have 700 to drive before l can fix ! Should l worry now or l can get to my point be then fix it !??? Pls help
I have the same noise on my 2007 pathfinder 😢
I have this noise but it seems like it comes from the drivers side of the engine
My ford focus is doing something similar
How much, roughly, was charged to fix this
I have a 2007 isuzu and is doing the same thing and it is because it is leaking, one bolt broke
I have this sound omg thx you i was goin mad. Everytine when acceleraring or movign i ngarage (especialy in undeground fuck that was loud and embarassing)
Pcv valve?
my 2007 impreza sounds like this
Is the clue not in the thumbnail
It certainly is, no clickbait here :)
and a huge loss of power
